    The Brambles Front Porch
    Jeffrey E.

Just wanted to leave an updated review. We have stayed here about 20 times since 2015. It's our happy place and we are never disappointed. Added some pictures of the Living Room, but we love the Brambles and the Front Porch is our favorite room on the properties. Make sure you say hello to "Blanche" the resident kitty and ambassador of chill. This place is fantastic.

    Domain Anderson !

A truly unique destination with a rustic charm that makes you feel comfortable from the minute you walk through the doors. We stayed in the master and felt right at home. Of course, being next door to Goldeneye and Domain Anderson will help set the mood for a romantic evening. The restaraunt Wickson was a nice surprise and they have a good selection of local wines and will allow you to bring your own of you like. We had a great visit and will be back !

Absolutely stunning property, service, and onsite restaurant and tasting rooms. We stayed at The Perch in The Brambles portion of the property and it was beautiful. Felt like a home away from home. Will definitely be coming back in the future.

What a beautiful property! Booked a room in this boutique hotel for the weekend to enjoy some wine tasting in Anderson Valley, and pick up my allocation at Roederer Estate. The garden view room is quaint, comfortable, and equipped with well considered amenities. They have an in-house restaurant, Wickson, that I'm looking forward to try. At the lobby is Sun & Cricket, a small shop selling various items and accessories. Next door is The Bohemian Chemist where they offer "sun grown herbal cannabis, skin care, and wellness medicine." And they have three tasting rooms in the property. Pretty much everything you need for a nice and relaxing weekend is in The Madrones. And I'm looking forward to it.

We just stayed here after the sip. Wow nice location great hospitality and food. The rooms are very nice and the location is epic. Surrounded by wineries. The staff makes you feel special. Rooms are clean and lots of beautiful flowers and gardens . Just relax after a nice day enjoying all the wineries and parks nearby. Private decks and very comfortable rooms. Everything was great.

    Ceremony with Brambles own chuppah!

We had our wedding weekend at the Madrones/Brambles, and it was truly the most magical experience. Jim and Brian have created the most remarkable place, and our guests were blown away by the personal touches. They and the madrones team were so accommodating as we navigated the challenges of planning three events, and we will be forever grateful for our special weekend we will certainly be back to stay in the future!

    Dog friendly!

We also made good use of the fully-stocked kitchen and the cast-iron pots and pans were perfect for hopping john and pancakes on New Year's day. Although we did not get to meet Dennis and Lesley, they were very responsive by email and phone and were accommodating of our dogs and check-in/out times. But what made it truly unforgettable was Rachel and her incredible team. From the very beginning, Rachel made everything feel easy. She's organized, intuitive, calm, and somehow manages to be both laid-back and on top of every detail. I never felt overwhelmed, never stressed. I fully trusted her, and that trust paid off a thousand times over. The florals were perfect--gorgeous but not fussy, exactly in tune with the setting and the vibe we'd envisioned. Her staff was so kind and attentive, and the whole event flowed effortlessly thanks to their care and presence. Guests kept commenting on how beautiful everything was, but also how relaxed and fun the day felt. There was no pretense or pressure--just love, laughter, tacos (SO GOOD), and pure joy. Rachel also helped us source our hair and makeup artist (who was amazing), our dessert vendor (adorable and delicious), and even supported our late-night In-N-Out plan. She managed every piece of the puzzle with grace and humor, and made sure we got to actually enjoy our wedding day. (Which we did. Fully. With Palomas. And a piano man. And guacamole on my dress.) We've joked with our guests about making this an annual thing, and honestly? We might not be joking. Yokayo is that special. And, on a perfect spring evening on the deck with the sky fading to black over the distant hills and the temperature slowly cooling, it was magical. Started with olives, almonds and a carafe of local rose, which was delicious. This was followed by some outstanding bread with herb butter and caperberries, and local, Mendocino cured king salmon, which was a celiac special! It was delicious and herbaceous with avocado, caperberries and dill. This was followed by the salad greens with asparagus and bresaola. The bresaola was a great compliment to the greens and the asparagus was particularly unique - fresh, crisp, fresh and while not quite asparagus-y they were so good, a bit sweet. They were from Zuckerman Farms in the Sacramento valley. Next was a bowl of noodles and asparagus, ramps, very fresh fava beans (not firm or mushy!) and parsley, or the same over polenta instead of Italian pasta noodles for the gluten-free. It was simple, but fresh and rich and luxurious. Three for three at this point. The end point was duck confit with oranges and kumquats over wild rice with some greens. The duck was perfectly cooked, although a tad too salty. Nonetheless, we cleaned the plates. And, who would have paired rosemary with oranges (?) but it worked. The meal was finished with vanilla ice cream over meringue, topped with lemon curd, and fresh strawberries and rhubarb, both of which were not only fresh but redolent of the flavors that they appear to have otherwise lost. The wine list is small but we greatly enjoyed both the pinot rose from Scribe and the pinot noir from Drew. I remain very frustrated by all of their fees and add on costs. Yet, I don't feel cheated or that it was all unreasonable in the end.

Every detail, from the freshly cut flowers inside the room to the garden and living room in the main house, is purposeful and elegant. I also should mention the food, which is excellent! The culture of the Anderson Valley gracefully comes through with every bite. In fact, the food alone is worth the trip. I have been to many Michelin-rated restaurants. While the meal might not be accompanied by the chef's life story, everything about the food, the dining atmosphere, and the local ingredients is every bit Michelin quality. A few other tidbits: Kid friendly, plenty of space to play in the backyard, but no games, no pool. The sister restaurant, Offspring at the Farrer Building, across the street has the same food, but also pizza and a few other kid friendly options. Two onsite EV charging stations. We live FT in The Sea Ranch so Harbor House is an easy drive and it's like having our own neighborhood Michelin star resort and dining in the hood. Lunch was as good as I remember it. We started with a raw smoked trout stater and it was gently smoked which kept the trout firm and with only a hint of the curing process. Their freshly made bread followed and that kelp churned butter is to die for. The next two courses were a poached black cod in a home made miso sauce that was a lesson in how to ferment properly ! Delicious. The pork loin followed and I must admit it was a little tough - perhaps not rested enough post cooking or just a little over. The dish had teenie tiny wasabi leaves among all the veggies and greens on the plate and they really imparted a lovely natural zinginess...desert was some sort of a custard with a thin meringue and some other wonderfulness that made the whole thing refreshing but not too sweet and a lovely end to the meal. It was our 34th anniversary and we had made it a point to mention it when we made the reservation but they didn't even stick a candle in the dessert they gave us as a part of the meal...which seemed a missed opportunity IMHO. Just saying, we eat out quite a bit and most of the time not to celebrate anything special so it's nice when an establishment makes mention and notice of it in some way... We had the wine pairings ($100/each) along with the five course lunch ($150/each) and they do a nice job with the pairings, mainly featuring nice Italian varietals and of course some local favorites from the area - like Baxter (Pinot) and a dessert style wine that was very nice and not something I would have normally thought to order on my own. The grounds are as beautiful as always and now that spring has sprung and the flowers on their grounds are in full bloom and the beach area is starting to take on that summer sheen - it was a stellar afternoon once again. We will be keeping this place on regular rotation for sure and we look forward to our next meal later this summer when the tomatoes are ripe and the fruits and vegetables are in all their glory ! Highly recommend.
