This one is located right on the lake, and the views from our first floor condo were wonderful! We came in mid February, but I'd imagine a stay in the summer would offer many outdoor amenities. Here's the updated version with your additional comments included: My family and I were so excited to visit WorldMark Clear Lake, and while there were some things we enjoyed, our stay was disappointing overall. The two-bedroom, two-bath townhome has a fantastic layout and felt very spacious. We also appreciated having the barbecue on our private patio, which was very convenient for family meals. The living room was comfortable, and we were able to enjoy watching the soccer game on the TV. Unfortunately, the resort could use much better maintenance and housekeeping. As we walked up to the second floor, the stairways were noticeably dirty and looked like they needed to be power washed. There were spiderwebs throughout the property, and the number of bugs everywhere was overwhelming. The property itself is in desperate need of renovation. The front entrance and common areas are the first impression guests receive, and they were not clean or well-maintained. The overall appearance of the resort lacked curb appeal and did not feel welcoming. The townhome has a wonderful layout and plenty of potential, but it also needs updating and a much more thorough cleaning. The biggest disappointment was the customer service at the front office. I couldn't believe the way my family was treated. The staff was not welcoming or helpful, and they would greatly benefit from customer service training. Guests should feel valued and respected from the moment they arrive. The fitness center has quality equipment, but the room is so small that the large machines make it feel cramped. We were also unable to enjoy the pool because it was overcrowded with large inflatable floats, loud rap music, and there was nowhere to sit and relax. One small inconvenience was that the living room TV only had one remote, which made it difficult for everyone to use. Overall, WorldMark Clear Lake has a beautiful location and a well-designed townhome layout, but the resort needs significant renovations, better cleanliness, improved maintenance, a more presentable front entrance, and much stronger customer service. Room: 212 1-Star for nice location close in proximity to the lake with private access to the dock. Additional amenities include private pool for guests, basketball court, playground, small basic arcade, and a pool table in the main check-in building. So why the negative review? Upon check-out, we found a used condom under the bed and a blue pill of some sort near the used condom. Traveling with a 2-year old that likes to pick up stuff off the ground and other kids ranging from 6-8 year olds is not what I would imagine we'd find in this hotel. Cleaning needs to be done thoroughly as this is just disgusting and gross, no better than the average dirty Motel 6. It's unfortunate that we'd found this upon check-out, or else I'd ask for a different room or deep cleaning service. If the floor is not clean, I don't want to know what else is not clean. We have been a WorldMark owner for 28 years. We used to come to this resort when our kids were little. Haven't been back for over twenty years. Decided to visit again and it was a pleasant trip. Front office staff were nice, helpful, and efficient. Check in was easy. Every time we needed extra supplies, they were delivered to us with just a phone call. We had a three bedroom unit which was a bit dated but clean, spacious, and functional. There was a good sized balcony with view of the lake, patio furniture, and a BBQ grill. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was in unit laundry. The master bedroom was upstairs, which is not common in WorldMark resorts. It's very spacious. The isolation was kinda nice, gave it a bit more privacy. The location of this resort is very good. One can take a walk along the lake to admire its beauty. We rented a pontoon boat one day close by and enjoyed the lake and the wonderful weather. Overall, this is a good resort that I do recommend. read more

Easy check in. Note: This seems to be more of a family resort than for couples. All one bedroom condos are below the 2 bedroom ones. With that said, our first night was a nightmare! Thin ceiling. Toddlers racing back and forth till 1030 pm then up at 6 ! NOT the resorts fault! The next morning, they moved us to the back of the property. Yay! Much quieter! Staff was very helpful and friendly. I am a Club Wyndham Presidential owner and my review is based on that. This was my first time in a WorldMark resort. The main thing is there is nothing to do in the immediate or surrounding areas other than wine tasting. The lake is high in mercury and we were told not to swim in it or eat any fish from it. If you aren't interested in anything but relaxation, this is a decent one. We were given a lake view unit, and it didn't disappoint. The view is incredible. Good things about the unit that I liked: Each unit came with a gas grill on the back porch. Loved the Murphy bed as opposed to a pull out couch as the mattress was a real one. Liked the "fake tile" insert in the shower as it was easy to clean and no algae. I also loved the towel exchange so we didn't have to launder our own towels. Downside: I had to pay for wifi, and while I understand the explanation, I don't agree with it. Not in this day and age. That should also be told upfront on the website. I paid an extra fee on top of my points to stay here and then had to pony up $35 for wifi. The outside areas around the unit weren't clean. Our back and front porch could have done with a good sweep, hosing, and furniture clean. The unit itself was clean but didn't have enough Kleenex or toilet paper or towels for six people. The staff nicely got those for us, so no issue. The units are dated but were clean. It's be a great place for a writing retreat. read more

Undoubtedly the best accommodations in the Clear Lake area. Good size heated swimming pool and enormous hot tub. Both, immaculately clean. T My room, 118, was a one-bedroom condominium. It has a fully appointed kitchen and a very nice gas grill on the porch. This hotel is perfect for a family vacation. I was here alone, but if you had kids there are plenty of activities. The room itself was quite comfortable. Living room with a comfortable sofa for laying and watching TV. Dining room table that would accommodate around 6. Plenty of free parking, although the internet is not free. My only complaint is the hot water. Apparently, each unit has its own hot water heater. If i can give this place a negative star i would. I booked my two bedroom condo for my family of 6 last year! Our reservation is literally today and i get a call at 1pm which is 3 hrs prior to check in that they cannot accommodate my reservation anymore and i needed to call a relocation dept to assist: after being on hold for an hour they finally offered me two studios that were on separate locations. There was no roll away bed options or anything for us with 4 kids! We have a boat in tow and a car full of food to stay for the weekend! I called the general manager of the resort (which was so nice and apologetic) but there was nothing he could do. I called Wyndham and there is nothing they can do. This is truly disappointing as i have stayed here before and had such a wonderful experience. To think i was going to become a Wyndham owner here ...after this experience i will take my business elsewhere. A wonderful place for families and little children. They rule, especially in the weekends. The pool and hot tubs are filled with happy screaming little tykes all day and night. Best to have a 2nd floor room because as thick as the separating between floors are, if one is sensitive, one can hear a lot of action/thuds. Lots of potlocks and family groups in one room. My family and I were meeting up with my boyfriend's family and this timeshare happened to be close. We had a spacious 1 bedroom that had a washer dryer, spacious living room and kitchen, queen sized Murphy bed and pull out couch. The kitchen had a stove, microwave, utensils, fridge. The sliding door opened up to a small park that had a volleyball court, a small playground. The timeshare had a pool and was very close to the lake where you can walk and see its beauty. A few of the Pomo Indian casinos are located nearby, as well as their better priced gas. If you're into fishing, boating, water sports, this is a time share you'd like to visit due to it's close vicinity to the water. We liked this place. We stayed in the 2 bedroom. Great size. Stairs are a bit steep for my arthritic knees. Really, the only downside is the knats. Many, many knats. They are called midges or rice flies. They are everywhere. They don't really bother you. I'd bring a bug zapper next time! I'd also bring coffee filters and cream and sugar, foil, and saran wrap. Plenty of dishes are available. The game room was fun, but you have to pay. Bring plenty of quarters. The pool and jacuzzi were great. Clean and nice temp. Overall, the place was clean, and the grounds were nice. The lake is full and seems to be in pretty good condition. Certainly, it's not "clear" but at least it wasn't covered in algae. read more

So I stayed here with my family for two nights, we checked in on Thanksgiving and checked out today, Saturday. My grandpa has a time share here and wanted us to come up and see him for the holiday. I feel like there was some type of miscommunication between my aunt and the secretaries at check in. She had called ahead every day for a week straight to see if we could get a room on the bottom floor for my handicap grandpa, which we knew was unlikely, but she was also calling for an early check in. Check in is typically at 4p.m. and they kept on telling us that we could call the day of at 11 to ask for an early check in for an hour earlier, at 3p.m. .... Well we called the day of and all of the sudden 3 turned into we can check in anytime. To say the least we were surprised and it threw us all off since we had planned accordingly. The night time people are awesome though! They're super kind and friendly, one of the girls who's name skips my mind, even brought ice to our room, which was really kind of her. As for the room itself, it had some problems. Things were already missing, like the (1)bottom shelf on the refrigerator, so we couldn't put things there. The (2)screen door on the sliding door that led to the patio wouldn't close all the way so bugs got in, there were also (3) dead bugs in all of the light fixtures in the restroom. On top of that the (4) stove light didn't work, the (5) dishwasher was missing parts to hold the top shelf in place. There was (6) paint droppings on the floor from when the wall had been painted. But by far the most disturbing and disgusting thing was that we found (7) Used masks from a previous guest in between the sofa cushions, which belonged to none of us. Also they provide their guests with a BBQ Pit on the Patio. Ours was dirty and filled with grease and cob webs. It was not cleaned before we checked in. I understand with Timeshare you need to clean up after yourself and leave the place better than you found it, but even if the last guest didn't I would expect for the Hotel to do the right thing and make things presentable and usable without missing parts. read more

Bug's were there but not at all a problem, they didn't get into our apartment or bother us while we walked to the lake, dock or basketball/racquetball court. Very well cared for property! Early spring, rainy weekend at Clearlake! Lots of ducks seen a few bunnies, lots of birds. Pretty rough water didn't see anyone catch any fish off the pier! Great apartment! Super clean! Well stocked, washer&dryer, dishwasher, Large TV in living room, small TV's in master bedroom as well as small bedroom! Murphy bed&stereo system... bring CD's... If I could give this resort 0 stars I would. My husband and myself stayed here a few months ago for the first time. While there our hot water heater went out and we were stuck with cold showers until they could switch units for us. They did however leave us a bottle of wine and some mugs. The staff was very friendly. We booked THREE months ago to stay this weekend with our children and grandkids to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had our jet skis serviced, packed coolers of food to bbq, and meals to cook. This is where he grew up as well as where his father is buried. So the trip was planned around that. After packing up the coolers and food, jet skis and all that goes along with we hit the road. A three hour drive ahead of us. There were three cars driving out. (Which I called TWO DAYS prior to make sure would be ok and confirm reservation ALL OF WHICH was fine) We had our 1 year old grandson as well as 3 year old granddaughter with us. While only 1 hour away and 1 hour and 6 minutes before check in we got a phone call from Worldmark that our reservation had been flagged due to overbooking and we needed to call a number to be relocated. We were told, "This actually happens all the time !" I explained I booked over 3 months ago and they should push someone else. They told us there was nothing to do for us. The staff also told us if we book again do it through the owners AIRBNB as they never get bumped. After calling the number given and being on hold over 30 minutes ( mind you we are all pulled over on the side of the road because there is no cell service one exit up) the staff member there said there was nothing they could do for us and gave us the number to BOOKING.COM who we booked through. Again three of us on three different phones and being on hold and disconnected several times finally got through to someone who told us we were the 5th booking cancelled and bumped. We were told there were no other places to stay that offered any amenities close to what we needed, and were refunded. We were told they would give us $25 towards another booking if we could find and prove we spent more. After 2 1/2 hours on the side of the road we did manage to fine an Airbnb for $400 more. I would NOT recommend booking here. After reading the other reviews this happens often. It doesn't not matter how far in advance you book. NO ONE at the resort, the number they gave us to relocate us, or BOOKING.COM helped us in any way. They left my family on the side of the road for over 2 1/2 hours over 2 hours from home with no where to stay on a very important weekend that had been planned for over 3 months. Good location Clearlake is about two hours from Roseville. It was a last minute booking when my Mom requested to have a family retreat. My family isn't small... there were 17 of us (and that isn't even complete) but I was glad to get 3 units (total 20 occupancy) this late in time. There's nothing much to do here in the winter time, hence the availability of the units, maybe? The lake has more activities during the summer. This was a first for us at this WorldMark location. The check-in experience at the registration office was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating to my family who arrived earlier before us. When we finally arrived they were enjoying the recreation room. When we got all the registration stuff squared away we checked into our units. The rooms were ready for us and clean as we have come to expect when staying in our timeshare. A few not-so-perfect moments... * One of the shower heads in one of our units did not function properly and water was spraying everywhere. Family who stayed here made it work and, unfortunately, did not tell me about it until our last day, I could've called the front desk about it. * While cooking breakfast our smoke alarm sounded off. Called the front desk and was told "you guys don't know how to turn it off?" Um, not really? that's why we called. He said he would send maintenance over. Shortly after hanging up the phone the alarm turned off and we canceled the maintenance guy. The front desk was just rude. * I'm not sure about this but when assigning units to incoming members or guests, front desk should ask if there are any small children in the party. Don't give them the second floor, please!!! The one above us had (an) overly active child(ren) and we're running around until late... and again at 7:00a. Didn't sleep well that night. Luckily, it was just for one night because we left the next day. WorldMark Clear Lake is about a windy two-hours drive to Fort Bragg. We enjoyed our Saturday at Mendocino County and Fort Bragg. This place is such a disappointment. The evening staff who checked us in were very friendly and helpful, but the woman on the desk during the day just can't seem to be bothered to help if it inconveniences her in any way. We had asked for a lakeview room, but were basically told it was just too inconvenient to move us, although the resort was far from full during our entire stay. This is a Wyndam property with RCI and is listed with our club as a higher end RCI property. If this is high end, I don't ever want to see their other properties. This woman told us that since we weren't Wyndam club members that we basically just had to suck it up. She conveniently never wore a name tag, but she had long, sandy blonde/brown hair. I don't know how this woman keeps her job: she does the brand no favors. Even the locals are aware of how awful some of the staff are here: we heard about it repeatedly. Her attitude and behavior dropped my review from 3 to 2 stars, and I'm seriously considering revising to 1 star. The room was large; however, all the appliances and furniture were outdated. The dishwasher door kept falling open. Also, the fireplace didn't work, and the gas grill was disgustingly filthy. The bathroom was acceptable, except there was only one towel bar directly over the toilet paper holder. So if you put a wet towel on it, the toilet paper got wet. And both the towel bar and toilet paper holder were coming off the wall. They offer no concierge service and don't even have any information on local activities available. And, they somehow failed to mention that resort guests receive a discount at locals wineries. Never again. Note: Then, in response to this review, I get a canned comment from Wyndam (below), asking me to contact them about ways they can improve. Ha! Read my review. CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS WRONG AT THIS PROPERTY. Checkin was nice, however when we had an issue with the room, the manager on duty or whoever she claimed to be assumed I was lying. Even after she knew she was wrong with our group of 9 rooms we did not receive an apology. It's sad that this experience on Easter Weekend with our church had to experience this. We go on trips every Easter as a small church and our children and youth look forward to this time. But this experience has left me wondering customer's are always wrong and lie about meaningless things. Rooms had hair in the drains when we checked in, birdpoop on patio charis in all 9 rooms, and just a sense that we were there as a burden for the front staff. However: DO NOT TRUST HOUSEKEEPING STAFF 1 I inadvertently left my purse on my bed upon leaving and checking out on the final day of our stay. I called within 2 hours of being on the road, and it was never turned in by housekeeping staff. I called several times over the ensuing days, but it apparently never turned up. 2. Worldmark gets a five star rating from me. Over the weekend we decided to take a trip up to Clear Lake and do some fishing and hang out with some friends. I haven't been to Clear Lake in many years. A lot of the resorts are pretty sketchy online when you look them up, but when we saw them in person as we were driving down the road, they were not so nice. But when we got to our resort, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was on point and very courteous. I give a special shout out to the manager Greg Bennett, for taking care of us. This resort is very nice, very well kept up clean. Spacious. The location is right at the water. It has a heated pool. Also a playground for the children. The rooms come equipped with the full kitchen. Each unit also comes with its own gas grill outside on the patio. Absolutely terrible stay. I strongly recommend you find another place- hotel, Airbnb, anything. We found BED BUGS in our room, which have come back with us to our house and cause an infestation at home. This should be reason enough to stay clear of this place, but the cherry on top is that they make you pay $16 for wifi. This is just tacky. This was one of the worst WorldMarks I have ever stayed at. Typically the units are well equipped and this was was a mess. Even a shelf in the refrigerator door was broken. Three hotels in three weeks and by far this resort was the cleanest, most comfortable and most relaxing resort we have ever stayed at. That said, we have been to a lot of resorts and hotels. Some staff are good and not so good at every stay... WorldMark Clear Lake's staff were 100% accommodating, wonderful, polite, courteous and enjoyable from the desk staff to gardeners. Loved the gas grill on the patio. Don't forget to ask about the history of the resort and who owned it before WorldMarkMark... UPDATE: Read the other reviews... **The highlight of our experience was a front desk lady I spoke to on the phone a couple of times, she was so enthusiastic, caring and helpful.** **WIFI - It was a nightmare to get the service and they just allowed 2 devices per member. We had gotten 2 rooms under one membership and we were out of luck. Only 2 devices for 2 rooms... and if you want anything other than that, I think there was a $15 daily charge. Not nice, WorldMark, bad time share! --- So we usually go to a time share in Arizona and now that I have been here I do appreciate our previous experiences even more. This place had just the bare basics and the room we had was kind of odd. It only had a Murphy bed (Wall bed), which I understand in places with limited space, but the room itself was very spacious. With the bed up it looked like a yoga studio, lol. The bed was on the same wall as the TV, so you could not watch TV from bed, only from the couch on the opposite wall. The small (2 chairs) table was not on the right spot and I ended up hitting my head on the chandelier, which would have been safe had the table been on the proper spot. They provide a set of spices in small packets, and one of our packets was already opened, so bad points for that. Also, the walls must be paper thin, because we could hear all sort of noises from the neighboring rooms. The issue that bothered me the most was that there were no lamps by the bed, and it took me a moment to find out there was a light switch inside the bed's closet. Well, once I turned it on, it was a ridiculously bright light that was exactly on top of the bed. Imagine driving in front of a car with the high beams right before you try to go to sleep. I thought that was beyond poor design. Other than that, the property itself is nice, although we did not spend much time there. We took a short walk near the lake shore, and we also went to the lake pier at sunset for pictures. I just stayed here this past weekend and my goodness I sure hated to leave. Check-in didn't go as smoothly as I anticipated and that's why I gave them one less star and because of the construction going on so it made it very hard to find a park near your unit. The amenities in the room were more than what I expected and I had a room that had a view of the lake as well as the pool. Only about a 12 minute drive to lower lake where you can rent boats, there's little corner stores and grocery stores that are less than a three minute drive. I really enjoyed my stay here and I definitely will be going back. Highly recommend whether it's just a getaway vacation or a family vacation. read more

Pictures look beautiful, I wish we could have stayed here. We made a reservation, and pre-paid(!) for a non-refundable, non-cancellable reservation, over a month ago for my wife's birthday weekend. Less than 24 hours before we were due to check in, and after receiving multiple confirmations this week, we were told our reservation was cancelled. They decided to "Downgrade" us to a one bedroom a few hours before we were set to arrive. We had booked a 2 bedroom 4 months in advance- we live 5 hours away and were devastated as we had 6 people with us. Obviously, we did not all fit in a one bedroom even with a pull out bed. We heard from staff this is something that is done often because it's a "timeshare" place. But really a few hours before? Not even a phone call it was an email. Literally the same day we were to check in, only a few hours beforehand. Worst customer service ever. We had no choice but to take our own inflatable bed to accommodate all of us. We even asked if we could have 2 rooms and they said they over booked and were sold out. We got to the room and it was dusty, smelly and so many bugs. No apologies. Nothing. The sad thing is that we stayed here before and will never return. The toilet was also was over flowing when we arrived and when I called the front desk, she had attitude and said "have you tried to use the plunger." Ummm no we just got here. Nice units. We stayed in a two story upper level unit. Pretty views of the lake at sunset. There are not many options for activities in the nearby areas, but staying in and relaxing isn't too bad either. Game room had some issues with games not working, but was refunded my money. A little bit annoyed that they charge for WiFi since most other resorts offer it for free. Overall nice relaxing place. read more

This place is very spacious and clean. Bed is comfortable and temperature is well controlled. People are really friendly. However, this facility needs some serious maintenance work. The cabinet doors kept on closing automatically and I hit my head a few times. There are also other cabinet doors that won't close all the way. The dish washer doesn't work. The scissor doesn't work. Several outlet plugins are loose so I had a hard time charging my electronic devices without using some sort of support. This place has so many ants that I find myself spending over an hour trying to get rid of them. read more

My family and I have been coming to WorldMark ClearLake since I was a little girl and now we bring my kids here. This has by far been our WORST experience here by far. Let's all keep in mind that I was work in the hotel/customer service industry so I know the expectations that we are suppose to give to guests and I also know how COVID has affected some of the amenities. So with all this, I know that we wouldn't be able to use a lot of the amenities that are offered due to COVID which I was totally fine with. This particular trip was for my son's 5th birthday. The first night arriving, the room was barely cleaned. Some of the dishes & pots and pans were dirty still. The floors had it been cleaned. Our bedding still had blonde strands of hair in it. The first night there, the microwave broke & we are into our 3rd day and it has not even been looked at. I will say that the lady at the front desk for worked there last night (Thursday around 8PM-ish) she was soooo sweet and helpful. The kids wanted popcorn and since our microwave was broken & hadn't been fixed yet, I asked if there was anywhere else that I could pop it & she offered to do it for me. She even sanitized herself and was super cautious. She was so sweet & didn't have to do any of that but I am really appreciative of her. Due to COVID, you have to make a reservation to use the pool because they are only allowing so many people during each time slot but you do get like 2 hours which is plenty of time for us. My dad went to the office to make the reservation but the lady up front (Ali) is told him that only 3 people could come to allow other guests to have a chance to use the pool. That is complete BS because i seen a family of 6 go to the pool that had 2 adults & the rest was kids. So I went to the office to talk to the front desk. ALI (who worked on Friday at around 9AM-ish) was extremely rude. I told her the situation & said that does the 3 person rule still apply if the other 2 were kids(I have a 3 year old & a 5 year old & they closed the jacuzzi & kiddy pool. The only thing open is the big pool but the shallow side is 3 ish feet). She said yes. So I asked her how I was suppose to take 2 small children by myself to the pool when the kiddy pool is closed. She said (in a rude tone) I don't know. During our whole conversation about the pool she was so rude. Than I said, well since this is how we are going to act than let me just give you my whole complaint which then I proceeded to tel her about how everything was dirty & broken. She said that if I had a complaint that she doesn't take care of it. I asked her so the front desk doesn't handle guest complaint and she said no. Than I asked well who does and she said you call customer service. I asked her what that number was and she brought the binder out RUDELY(if you are wondering how can someone bring a binder out rudely, you can ask ALI). I than ask her if there was a manager on shift & she said not until 9. As I was walking away, I heard ALI & another employee who had her arm in a sling & was sitting on the front seat counter, laughing and talking about me as I was walking out. Oh and here is the good part. When I went back to my room & called customer service, she had given me the number to SECURITY. The COVID stuff I understand and we came to the resort knowing that there was going to be limitations due to COVID. but the rudeness & unprofessionalism is not something that I can tolerate, ESPECIALLY when we pay annual fees to use this location. I really hope the management team see's this review and talks to their employees because this whole experience was unacceptable. read more

We are here until tomorrow. I could spend a month here. It is quiet and relaxing. Our two bedroom townhouse has a lovely view of the lake. There is a lap pool, baby pool, and a hot tub! All with views of the lake! The clubhouse is Spanish colonial style and beautiful. You can play some ping-pong, shoot some pool, or get lost in the video arcade. There's a cute little jungle gym for kids on the lawn. There is also a basketball court. This includes a private dock for guests and their boats and jet skis where catfish and bass abound. Upon arrival after a long drive from the Bay Area they advised me that my reservation had been canceled as they had overbooked. . A one week stay! They did not notify me and I had spoken with them three days before to discuss COVID restrictions. Absolutely horrible. read more
