We had the pleasure of staying at Pine Acres again this past week. It is truly a gem! The fishing pier was so busy with people catching trout all week! It was lovely to sit and watch the sunset on the shore. The clean restrooms and showers are conveniently located near the boat launch and pier. One of the favorite things for me is visiting with the park manager, Tamara. She's continuously monitoring the grounds since there is day use as well as cabins and RV camping. Tamara is so kind and always makes sure that our stay is great. The park is absolutely beautiful! The maintenance done is fantastic! read more

We just finished up our first family stay at pine acres resort. Overall we really really enjoyed it and had such a good time. We will definitely be back. There was 5 total of us (with 2 young kids.) Our dad stayed in one of the "motel" rooms and we stayed in cabin 10. I'll start with the pros. The place is very small and homey feeling. You can walk all around , everything is close together. There is a nice little office/store if you need anything you forgot. The swimming beach is perfect!!! We just hung out there all day every day. The water was great and they have a swimming dock in the middle to swim to and play on/jump off! They have a lot of shade and big trees and overall beautiful grounds. Lots of grass for the kids to play in. The fishing dock is also great to fish off. There is a boat launch over there too. There was hardly any bugs or mosquitoes, bees etc which was nice! The cabins are decent size and have a nice deck with picnic table and chairs and a grassy area out front. Also a charcoal bbq out front. The cons and reason only gave 3 stars- the cabins are definitely outdated and kinda dirty. The mattress is probably 20+ years old. The (very small) fridge was dirty. Tv didn't work. No curtains to keep morning light out , old dirty furniture. And the biggest con in my opinion was no AC. For how hot it gets up there (100* + ) they should absolutely have little window units to keep the cabins and rooms cool. The cabin did have a ceiling fan which was OK but we also brought our own fan which I'm glad we did. The windows are small, so at night it stayed pretty hot in the cabin even though it cooled down outside. They have towels to use for the shower/bathroom. But even those were old and thin. I just wished things were a little more up to date and clean. That being said, we definitely will be going back because we really did have an amazing time. the location and grounds/beach/fishing was amazing. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. read more

We just finished 3 days at Pine Acres Resort which was really relaxing. Blue Lake is beautiful. The resort is very clean. Tammy and her husband do make sure the rules are followed but didn't observe any negative interaction. We do plan to go back and rent lakefront spaces. This time we were in the "other location " sites which are really a parking lot against a fence. Very close, no shade. I would suggest taking away 2 or 3 of the sites and planting trees and giving more space. Too close and no privacy but live and learn. All in all, a beautiful location we will go back to and book a lakefront location.@ read more

Pine Acres is hands down the best resort on Blue Lakes! We have been to all 4 resorts on blue lakes and now we will only come here. Tamara and her husband are awesome. It's expensive and it's often windy but it's the only place left that still does day use. $18 a person for a steep little beach with trailers on it. We still come because when it's hot its the only option. If you do come be very attentive when getting your change. Tamara in the office likes to claim she gave you your change when she didn't. Pine Acres boasts basic beauty. It's a welcoming resort that is blissful. No muss no fuss, simple serenity. This spring fed lake is for water pleasure. It's a no wake lake. Families, paddle, kayak, swim, play horseshoes, jump off floating docks, tree swings and the like. It's surrounded by mountains and has plenty of shade trees. The staff is friendly. Hello my name is Jessica and I would like everyone to please disregard Raylene R's review. The wedding ceremony was put together with some family members and myself. It's a special place to my family and I don't want one persons opinion to cloud anyone else's judgement. There was a misunderstanding for day use charge for the day of the ceremony for anyone who wasn't staying at the resort. That was easily taken care of when I spoke to Tamara. Treat people with kindness and respect and that'll get you a lot further in having something resolved. The ceremony was beautiful and it'll be a memory I'll never forget. Moments like that make you realize what's important in life, not a petty misunderstanding that you allow yourself to blow up on someone. I appreciate all the stay that helped out that weekend!!! I found the staff very helpful, very friendly, and accommodating. I was on a business trip near Lakeport and booked two nights. On my departure day I told the friendly lady in the office that I may need another night. And if so, I will arrive back after office hours. She told me to go ahead and take the same sight and pay in the morning. Turned out, I did have to stay another night. Settled the bill in the morning no issues. They trusted me to pay in them in the morning! Great service! I have a cabover camper(~16') so the slot size was perfect. Yes this park is small and may be better suited for small to medium sized RVs/trailers. So you may want to go elsewhere if you have a huge trailer/RV, say over 25'. May be a tight squeeze taking effort to park in some sites. Call them first and ask all the questions. If they don't answer, leave a message or keep trying. They called me back quickly. The Wifi worked well. It would drop every now and then but came back up quickly. Hey, what do you expect! Use your phone hotspot if need be. The lake is beautiful and scenic. Boat launch is gravel, shallow not steep. They have a very nice doc with benches. The place is perfect for kids. You will need to bring your own fire pit(wood/propane). I use a propane fire pit from Lowes(no smoke!). Simple and works great. read more

Let me tell you what this place is not. It's not a high end, high tech, high dollar spa resort. What it is... Is a homey, beautiful, friendly, fun place right on the lake. There are cottages and cabins along with RV sites, some with no services, some with full services. We had our 32' trailer at a lakeside spot for a week in early May. Because we chose this particular spot there was a 5" rise needed on the passenger side to make level...I only had 3 1/2" with me. The managers of the place will gladly back your RV into a spot for you and in this case provided wood blocks to help level the trailer. Later in the week our black tank filled so they loaned me their 30 gal portable dump tank so I could clear room in our tank for the rest of our stay. Our home is less than 45 minutes from here so I went home and got my pontoon boat and we've had guests come several times to cruise the lake with us. (This is a very small lake and the speed limit is 5 mph.) There's a big lawn with bbq grills. Free-standing fire pits are welcome if they're off the ground. A clubhouse is available as well as a dock for fishing, a beach, and a swimming platform. If you need it there is strong cell service and the Wi-Fi seems to work great! You'll love it. read more

DO NOT give these people any of your business!!! They have insulted our entire family which has given them a TON of business now for a wedding and over the past 10 years in trailer space rental. Currently we have rented a lot of rooms and space in which to have a wedding and reception. Check this out... they have audacity to charge ANYONE who wants to visit and help with the food prep and to visit and to get the vibe going almost $20 just to be on the property. Additionally they will charge every person who wants to attend the wedding tomorrow $20 just to be on the property.THAT is absurd and completely unreasonable. Plus the woman who confronted us at the entrance completely lied about our discussion to the other members of our family. Please understand it's not really about the money it's about the principle of the thing which is totally absurd and they are being extremely unreasonable and unflexible.. do not give them any of your business and avoid this place like the plague. read more

We went there and camped in Site B September 9th thru the 13th , very clean, nice set up. We were able to fish, they have a nice partially covered fishing dock, can also fish from the shore. Kayaking is really nice since the whole lake is a no wake zone Lake. Swimming is a breeze in there private beach area, or in the lake itself. Tamara was very helpful and is a people person, which means allot to us. We will be going back many more times. We had a very relaxing and fun time there. read more

I have been staying at Pine Acres, Blue Lakes, for over 25 years. My last visit was a total rip-off. They are now charging $200 a night for out-of-date, run- down cabins! On top of that, they charged me an $18 daily use fee for 2 hours beyond the approved check-out time. They gave me of 12 noon check out time, "as a favor," mid-week. when I stayed on to swim for 2 hours, they tacked on the day use fee. (Blue Lakes Lodge, across the street, never charges a day use fee for staying over to swim on a late check-out.) On top of that, the beach is miniscule at Pine Acres. It is mostly accommodating RV's and boats at this point. I would never recommend the cabins again. Mine was remodeled due to a fire, but all the others are still 1960's style with pee-stained rugs. On top of that, they don't allow dogs except for RV's! I can understand if they were to put in new carpets, but they have not been replaced except for Cabin 8. The front desk was extremely unfriendly and rude...again, hard to understand after years and years of loyalty. (I used to bring my daughters here when they were in elementary school!) You are better off camping or doing an RV here. read more

I am local to the area and have been going to the blue lakes since childhood. I normally visit another location on the blue lakes but decided to give this place a try. We were traveling from the east coast relocating due to military orders with our dog who was recently diagnosed with cancer and just underwent emergency surgery a few days before. Right out of the gate the customer service staff was rude and confrontational. The woman (Tamara-manager ) accused me of not paying the day fee for my mother that was visiting, and I had to explain to her that my mother was already renting one of the rooms on property. I witnessed her rudely kick a women off property for asking to use the restroom. Her husband drives around on his golf cart all day staring at people, (very strange). Overall, the sites were small, crammed and lacked 50 amp service. The rooms did not have air conditioning which is mind blowing since it gets up to 114 in the area. To top it all off my spouses parents came for dinner after hours and informed us that they spoke to Tamaras husband (the other manager I believe) and that they would add the entrance fee to our tab, so I didn't think anything of it. The next morning we got a call from an unhinged Tamara telling us that we were being kicked out and we need to pack our bags and leave. She was yelling and accused our parents of coming after hours to "boycott paying the day" fee which is the furthest thing from the truth. No one was there to check them in. I tried to go and speak with her in person and explain that we are happy to pay the fee and that I thought it was already being added to the tab (which by the way is what she said to do at the beginning of our stay). I told her I have a very sick dog recovering from surgery and would rather not have to move him and that the extra day would help. I was not mean, rude or aggressive and profusely apologized for the misunderstanding. She looked at me in my eyes and told me, and I quote "Take your sick dog and go elsewhere" and proceeded to kick me out of the store". I have never been treated so poorly or kicked out of anywhere in my life and was appalled by her aggression, lack of empathy or understanding. I have no idea how someone like this has a job let alone a management position in the hospitality industry. After reading other reviews it seems that this is an ongoing problem. We will not be going back and none of our family members will either. Until the management is changed, I would go elsewhere! read more

We decided to camp here for the first time. The rave about this lake made me changeout of my comfort zone of my favorite campsite to try this place out. I give it 2 stars. We reserved 2 RV spots (which I'm so happy the staff told us they had no shade to bring pop ups) which we did. What they didn't say was that they were basically like parking spots. Once you put a tent up, there no room for anything else now even parking your car. We were told to park in certain spots (which we had to move 4 times to accommodate new guest arriving. They area is beautiful but way stuff and over crowed. We were like sardines in there. I never camp a spot before so small! The trailer next to us has lights on all night and watching movies till 5 am! He lived there. super nice but not what I had in mind for camping. The day use area was also very crowed. I think this place would be awesome If they focused on making it a peace full spot then the more people in the more money. The guys with the cones at the entrance was a plus but also like a prison guard took it way to serious. I paid almost $250 for 4 nights for this? No thanks we had a family of 5 and two tents . They charge per person and tent and it's crazy for the spot you get!! We left a day early and I refund( even as we left the lake was shut down for blue algee) I'll take berryessa or Sonoma any day! There is about 5 good campsite at this location but even then I think it would be over crowed with the day use. We couldn't sit at our campsite at all with No shades, to close to others and if you wanted to swim close to the beach area your prob swimming in pee. With the amount of people there. We rented a boat from Across the way to at least enjoy a little day of peace and quite which was nice and made our trip a little better. Not sure I'll go back read more

I am not normally a reviewer. In fact, I am not sure I have ever left a review but my experience at this RV site was so bad that I decided to leave a review. The manager and her husband were by far the most unprofessional and rude people I have ever met. We witnessed the female manager be incredibly aggressive and rude to numerous patrons even aggressively kicking one out over a trivial issue. Overall, the Lake is pretty however the campgrounds are small and over crowded. They don't have 50 AMP service. Most sites are directly in the sun which gets very hot. The facility is small with over 15 RV sites on a tiny lot. There are bugs everywhere that swarm in at night. There is no air conditioning in the motel rooms which was sweltering in 110 degree weather. They have a confusing day use guideline for guests with the mangers running around like police and accusing people of sneaking in. It's very odd and uncomfortable. I believe the facility is under new ownership this year however it clearly needs new management. This is a small community and I would be surprised if their behavior does not negatively affect their local business and deter returning clients. They were watering their grass the entire time we were there in the middle of a California drought and the male manager constantly drove his golf cart by the sites kicking up dirt everywhere and watching everyone like they were doing something wrong. It was very uncomfortable and odd. Save your money and go to one of the other nearby resorts. Blue Lakes is beautiful and worth the trip just not at this facility! read more

The hidden gem of Blue Lakes. I have been vacationing at that lake for 44 years. Pine Acers is the only resort left on that lake that is about FAMILY!!!! Tamera and Norm make you treat you like family and make every stay memorable! They go above and beyond and take so much pride in running that campground, so it is always a wonderful vacation for all! It is truly an amazing CAMPING experience. Yes, you have phone reception and WIFI.... but it is not a "posh resort" it is a put your phone away and chat with the other amazing campers that come back year after year! We have introduced several friends to Pine Acers.... they now come back on their own and love it as much as we do. We always feel safe there and know our children are safe. it is about being treated like family! If you show up and want to be disrespectful, you will be asked to leave and not return! So if you are looking for a fun family resort with lots of great people, guaranteed, laughs, good times and to make new friends, that you will see year after year. We had our wedding at Pine Acres in April, 2017. When our original venue fell through (with only a month before our big day!) we were devastated and thought for sure our dream wedding was out of reach. Luckily we found the gem that is Pine Acres and had a wedding that even exceeded our original expectations! Tamara was absolutely amazing! She jumped right in and helped us plan our big day, with only a couple weeks remaining. Her and Norm made the place sparkle. The lawn area, the housing and camping accommodations and the beach were all manicured perfectly. They let us set up the entire area exactly how we wanted it. Everything was so perfect we still can't believe it. There were so many beautiful and fun moments our photographer was able to capture. From romantic moments on the dock, to dancing under the stars, to the bride and groom fishing in their finest on the serene lake, these moments looked amazing due to the beauty of Blue Lakes and the Pine Acres grounds. We were so fortunate to find Pine Acres and Tamara. We will continue to go back to relive these amazing memories and some day we will hold our family vacations there and tell our children about the most amazing day of our lives! The woman and man who greeted us upon entry were very nice and helpful. The grass is manicured and green. The lake is beautiful and quaint. But this campground is very small. Sites are packed in together super close. We were camping with another trailer site next to ours thankfully otherwise we would have been on top of our neighbors. The hookups are old and the water leaked the whole time. Not the kind of camping I am used to. For the expensive price I would expect at least updated hook ups that were closer to our rig, had to have the cord and hose running through our campsite just to reach. And the neighbors sewer pipe was basically in our site (again luckily we were with them and they didn't hook up so we didn't have to walk over their shit pipe while lounging in our site). The tent sites are literally on top of each other. We had someone in our group stay at a tent site because you cannot have tents on rv sites (no room anyways) and they were so close, you can hear the other campers whisper, sneeze and having sex. Not ideal for kids or a relaxing camp trip. The beach to swim was very steep and small, nowhere to set up for the day and relax by the water. What you can do here is hang out by your trailer and fish off the dock, swim in the designated area, or rent a boat for about 500 bucks for 6 hours down the street and putter along at 5mph and fish or find a spot to swim. The bathroom is nice, but only one toilet and one shower. The shower costs 50 cents and it's really no pressure at all. Like a sprinkle of water coming out. Honestly for paying over 500 for 3 sites/3days 7 people, 4 kids and dogs.. I would expect more to do. Maybe they can take out the locked up rec room and put in a park for kids. We did walk our dogs several times up outside of the campground in the road that takes you to the Narrows campground. That was a nice little getaway and exercise for the dogs. We did really enjoy our time, and made the best with what we had. I don't think I would go back though unless there were some upgrades made to the hookups and maybe another dock would be nice so there's more room. If your okay with small crowded spaces then you might enjoy it. And again, I will say that the managers were helpful and seemed to be working hard to keep people happy. read more

UPDATE: After my initial shock at the sight of my camp site, we got settled in and ended up meeting some very nice people and having a good trip. My son made some new friends and did things all kids should do. Given this, I'm upgrading from 1 star to 4 stars based on our trip in June when we stayed in cabin 10 AND the camping trip. Additionally, the twin, middle aged blondes that were visiting Mitch were completely inappropriate, loud and low rent. They were swearing like sailors. Once they left, everything was fine. Tamara and Chelsea are great but the other gal isn't very friendly. (for clarity) I do think the camp sites need a bit better maintenance in between campers though as well as their online map being misleading. (something Tamara said she didn't like before we got there). Now we know not to reserve camp site "O". It was too tight for us. Original review: I don't think I could be more disappointed than I am at this minute. I'm sitting in the campground at Pine Acres sardined in between what feels like 20 other people. When looking at their website, the map shows the spot I'm in being 25' long. It is completely misrepresented. There is something like 50 or more "people" populating the grass area..a most uncouth group. The WiFi doesn't work...and the person behind the counter is unfriendly. I stayed here in June...a completely different experience. If you're in the cabins, that's fine Camping sucks 100%. I won't camp here again. This site is not well maintained and is not clean, neither are the bathrooms..disgusting. 100% unhappy. Oh..if you like your children to hear swear words..this is the place for you. read more

I'm sad. Because I had to leave Pine Acres! There are few places left like Pine Acres and I intend to revisit every summer. Tamara was professional and accommodating from first contact to our checkout. Norman, Tamara's husband, Tommy and the rest of the staff were always friendly. In fact Tommy helped us set up my parents tent, lending us a hammer and then staying to help set it up. I liked the fact that the staff takes pride in Pine Acres and they are always available for any questions and keeping an eye on the grounds. The grounds are small but lovely. The grass is green and there is landscaping to keep the dust down. Camping is perfect for those who want the camping experience with out the roughing it aspect. If you want to get away from "it" and everyone, this is not for you. Camping spots and cottages are cozy and close especially during the weekend. Monday thru Friday afternoon are very nice though and laid back with out a lot of people. The wind is a factor and can make erecting a tent a challenge, BUT it also keeps the air fresh and the bugs away. I absolutely loved the lake. BEAUTIFUL! Clean and clear. There are paddle boats, kayaks and row boats. Fishing was a a big hit with the kids during the day and at night digging for crawdads was the thing to do. The kids also enjoyed swimming and meeting new friends while enjoying a level freedom you can't get anymore. Now, I have a confession. I myself did not camp. Nooo, I'm over that. I rented a cottage with a fridge, coffee pot (bring your own mugs and more coffee), full bathroom and 2 queen size beds. The shower in this cottage was LARGE and stocked with towels. The cottage itself was clean and neat and comfortable. If you are not staying in a cottage bring quarters for your shower. 4 quarters = 4mns. The bottom line is, if you are looking for a fun, old fashioned, safe environment to get away and get back to what matters this is the place. It's pretty darn hard to find the perfect place with out breaking the bank, so Pine Acres is a GEM! read more

Beautiful surroundings, accommodating staff, kid-friendly swimming, horseshoe pits, real bathrooms, boating, and fishing. The campsites are on the small side, but each has electricity and water, plus there's plenty of room for a large tent, picnic table, and two cars. The weekend crowd was friendly and during the week the occupants were very few. My family and I will definitely be returning! read more

I am soooo disappointed in this place. I got an "rv" spot and thought the price was pretty good...until I got there. Now I know why, they screw you when you arrive and have no choice but to stay. I stayed with myself, my mom and 4 children, two of them under 5 in a 23' RV. When I checked in they asked how many people we had. Since I camp very often I know that normally its 6-8 people per campsite. Not at this rip off place. They charged me $32 PER DAY extra for the children on top of the regular rate!!! Outrageous!!!!! 2 people per spot for the camping spots??? And calling it that's a stretch at best! I was charged $200 more than I was quoted when I checked in. Absurd! Our "spot" was a parking space at best and that's being generous. A table and about 4' of space for it when then RV is in, with zero shade and a fence with a road behind it. There were about 3 decent camping spots in the whole place. An RV came in next to us and their pop-outs were literally in our 4' of "space" so we had to duck to avoid them. Needless to say we spent the majority of our time at the little beach and on the dock to avoid being in the campsite if at all possible. The lake is beautiful of course and the swimming was fine. However, in this SEVERE drought they were watering the lawns (with water siphoned from the lake) 24/7! I'm not exaggerating even a little bit. The sprinklers were on from the day I arrived to the day I left, include the entire day and night it was raining!! I said something to the owner who just replied, yeah it takes thousands of gallons to maintain this lawn. The lawn never even had a chance to get less than soaking wet. Are you kidding me?! We are in a drought and you are way overwatering your tiny lawn?! Horrible camping spots, I can't believe anyone would say different. Wifi only had a signal right by the office, move 20' from there...you know, to your "campsite" or cabin and there's no signal. This place has horrible customer service. Came down to camp 3 nights in tents and the 3rd day it started raining! We went to go ask for a refund for that 3rd night due to weather and l as said no refunds due to weather and had a sign posted saying that. She didn't not offer anything! She COULD HAVE AT LEAST SAID SOMETHING LIKE IF YOU WANT I COULD GET YOU GUYS A CABIN FOR TONIGHT OR ALL YOU WOULD NEED TO DO IS JUST PAY THIS MUCH. BUT NOPE, SHE DID NOT DO ANYTHING. Like c'mon if there was thunder and lighting and something happened they would be at fault! On top of that the bathroom were dirty 2 out of the 3 days we were there. No one apparently cleans it Saturday and Sunday plus there was no soap in there the first day. Cleaning lady on Friday didn't even fill it. Plus the wifi sucks! read more

We had a horrible experience! The place is very overpriced for what they offer. We rented a row boat and half way across the lake the piece you put the oars in broke off. We let them know in the office. They said to talk to the lady in the office the next day. My husband went in to pay for the day and mentioned it. The lady proceeded to call him a F------- idiot, and call the sheriff. She was very unprofessional! She seemed to think my husband was trying to get over on them. Hardly the case! read more

I was concerned reading reviews for this place... so we wrote it off and didn't plan to camp here. A friend of ours recommended it though, so we decided to give it a go last minute. I called after hours and left a message, and got a call back quickly after (I think from "Chelsea"). Very friendly and sweet over the phone, she recommended site T to us based on availability, and gave me some quick details about their sites stating that a lot of their sites are very close together, but that site T had only one neighbor. Upon arrival, the woman checking us in was very nice, talkative and friendly. We were led right to our site and shown where to park by a man on a golf cart. My first thought was where is the fire pit! We learned the next day that you just have to ask for one. So if you're used to camping with a fire in the evenings, just ask :) Looking around, it looks like the sites ARE super close together, but it was still a pleasant camping trip. We have a 16' x 10' tent, cookstove, BBQ, and we had plenty of room for the picnic table and fire pit. The lake was wonderful, we were in the perfect site for bringing our paddle boat as we could tie it off right at our site and just walk down a few steps to the shore. For each trip to the office for forgotten items (butter, etc), our encounters with staff were always pleasant. On one trip into the office/store, our two year old had a bag of "duck food" and we forgot to put it on the counter to pay. We realized right as she was about to charge our card, and the woman told us to not worry about it, and that she normally takes a bag out to feed them each day... so the bag he was holding could be the bag she would've gotten. So sweet. We encountered three different female staff, and I think a couple men. ALL were great. We plan to visit again! (But only when we can get in sites R, S, or T.) (I'll also add: In regards to customer service issues apparent in other yelp reviews, there was a man in front of me in line that was pretty unpleasant to the girl at the desk, and she kept her cool and remained kind and tactful to him while holding to their policy. He wasn't treated unfairly. So a thumbs up for customer service from my experience!) read more
