For our family, spending $200 to $250 a night is not a casual decision. We're not a wealthy family, so when we spend that kind of money, we're looking for a place where everyone can relax and feel like it was worth it. Usually that gets us a hotel room with two beds, a pool, and maybe a hot tub. This place is on a completely different level. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, with acres of land to explore, hiking trails, bike trails, and enough space that you can actually breathe. The kids loved the mini golf, the fire pits with wood provided, the swimming pool, and the free bikes. Our accommodations felt more like a little apartment than a hotel room. We had two bedrooms, a hot plate, a refrigerator, and all the kitchen supplies we needed. It made the whole stay easy and comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and family-friendly without feeling chaotic. The service was equally impressive. Everyone we interacted with was kind, generous, and genuinely seemed happy to help. We spent Father's Day here, and something rare happened: everybody got what they wanted. The kids had the freedom to explore and have their own adventures, and I had the chance to rest, recharge, and join in whenever I wanted. Nobody was bored. Nobody was frustrated. We were all happy. Mandala Springs is a campground that offers traditional camping options as well as glamping options. My husband and I rented one of the cottages and it was great! It was very cozy and had great amenities, including our own bathroom and kitchenette. I adored the little porch of our cottage. It was a great spot for stargazing at night. The grounds are very peaceful and quiet, and you can catch sight of some critters wandering around the grounds sometimes. My husband and I had a few animal sightings here, including a deer right outside our cottage! The facilities include a pool, a garden, a studio (which wasn't offering any classes due to COVID), archery, hiking trails, fire pits, and even a wood-fire oven you can use for cooking pizza! They also have bikes and water activities which were free to use. The hiking trails have vista points where you can meditate or catch a beautiful sunset or sunrise. There's something really peaceful about getting up super early in the morning to watch the sun rise and nature wake up along with it. Some things to note (from what I can remember): -No cooking meat or eggs on the grounds. -No pets allowed. -No drinking or smoking. I'm not really an outdoors person. I usually prefer to travel to places with more activities and sights to see, so we also explored the towns around the lake nearby besides just staying here the whole weekend. But I appreciated the nature and tranquility that Mandala Springs offered. It's perfect if you're looking for a short weekend getaway from city life. read more

Excellent venue for our high school choir's retreat! We had over 35 people in three different lodges which were all extremely clean with new furniture and stainless steel appliances in the kitchens. For choirs, or any other singers, the acoustics in Mandal Hall were extraordinary and one of the singers commented that it was better than the cathedrals in Europe (from where they had just sang over the summer.) Enjoyable activities such as archery, paddle boats, and hiking, campfire with s'mores to name a just a few options. We also appreciated the very accommodating and friendly staff lead by Susan. They were always quick to respond to our big group's needs. We had a great time and will definitely return! read more

This was our 2nd trip to the property and it did not disappoint. Here was our scene: 1rst group - stayed in cottage #46. 2 full beds with luxury linens, 4 pillows per bed. There is a small table and 2 chairs on the front deck. There is a small kitchenette inside with a bar height table, with I believe 3 seats. There is a small fridge, sink, stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee press, dishes, glasses, mugs, flatware and spices. There are paper towels, Kleenex, extra tp under the bathroom sink. There is also AIR CONDITIONING and overhead fans. It was AMAZING to be out in the heat and come back to a cool space. The bathroom has a huge shower, heater, sink and traditional toilet. It come equipped with Honest brand body soap and Alba hair products. There are 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels & bath mat. There were extra towels under the sink, if needed. It was SPOTLESS. Not a speck of dust or cobweb or dust bunny anywhere which is absolutely amazing because I've stayed at other 4+ star properties that were not as clean and this was in the woods! Bravo to the cleaning crew! It was such a spacious little cottage and we slept very well. 2nd group did tent camping. They had a nice, big flat spot near the fire pit. They had plenty of room to spread out and it backed up to a creek. The bugs weren't too bad and it was pretty quiet. They got to look at all the amazing stars because there is virtually no light pollution. The frogs were GLORIOUS, singing at night. The property has EXTREMELY clean bathrooms and showers. They are in trailers and so it's very private. There is also a Yoda for all the Star Wars fans, a pool, a garden, a volleyball net, a fire pit, a miniature golf course, a small pond with stand up paddle board, kayak and paddle boats. The paddle boats were in need of a little love but we just used the oars to navigate. There are beautiful trees and native grasses and spring flowers everywhere. There are walking trails and we even saw a ton of birds, lizards and deer. They have a beautiful path that leads up to the top of the hill and overlooks the entire property. There is a yoga platform, a picnic table, and a couple of benches for resting in the shade. There is also a very beautiful gong at the top of the hill. Not too far from the property is also a lake and some small towns with a farmers market in Middleton on Fridays. Calistoga is 30 minutes away. The property would be an AMAZING location for weddings or reunions. There are small yurts, cabins, cottages, rv hookups, and tent camping available. It is a bit of a drive on some curvy roads but the scenery is spectacular and completely worth the trip if you're looking to get out of civilization but too far. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Mandala is such a peaceful, beautiful place to stay. There's not only a gentle stillness and sacred feeling to the land, their accommodations are pristine. Jerry, their delightful manager, helped us to feel welcomed and cared for. They're lucky to have him! We enjoyed getting to know him, John and his family, as well as the amazing vision the owner has for Mandala. We have a feeling this new gem will become a well sought after place to unwind and clear the city off the bones, and we feel lucky to have found it. There's really nothing like it that we've experienced before in accommodations. It's like glamping...meets luxuriously simple, zen like, accommodations...meets retreat. The deets: their brand new cabins are perched high off the ground, each with their own porch and sitting areas. Once you enter, you're greeted with a gorgeous light-wood peaked roof interior complete with plenty of windows that spill a beautiful amount of light into the interior. I loved seeing the tree tops and sunshine out of the higher windows, and also appreciated the benefit of good air conditioning. Our two bedroom cabin had plenty of space between it and the next cabin to feel private and yet not overly secluded. Their comfy mattresses had freshly scented linens and extra soft blankets. The high ceiling bathroom had a large tiled shower, plenty of sink counter space for 3 people and nice quality towels and liquid soap. Our cabin had a mini kitchen with two stove top burners, refrigerator, quality cutlery and dishes and eco pans for healthy cooking. To top it off -- a French Press! I love that they've put such effort into making sure their guests have what they need for cooking meals in their vegetarian-only kitchens. Although we aren't vegetarian, we had no issue eating green while there. I think the deer who surround the cabins like it too! I sat outside and enjoyed a 20 minute communion with two beautiful deers who were about 5 feet away, and seemed unusually trustful of the humans around them. I'd go vegetarian any day to experience the peace I felt during those twenty minutes. All in all - highly recommend. You'll come away feeling like this 108 acres wonderland gives back a little bit of that peaceful magic you didn't even know you were looking for! read more

Mandala is a rustic campground with charming hints of elegance throughout their 100+ acres of serene nature. On our first visit my wife and I could feel the good vibes. We went their for a devotional Bhakti retreat and both fell in love with the space. We rented a lovely cottage which was super swanky for a campground. It had it's own bathroom and kitchen, which was great since we both love to cook. They tell me this spot used to be 'safe haven' for the local native tribes of the area. I'm 25% Hopi and I could feel it in the air. The deer there are peaceful and the many birds swarm in delight. Nearby Kelsey Creek flows year round which adds a mystic charm to the location. I would definitely recommend Mandala to anyone looking for a place to have their next retreat! read more

We stayed here for President's Day weekend, and it was very charming. We were looking for something rustic sort-of close to wine country. Note: I do not recommend staying here if you're doing a wine country weekend. It was over an hour to Healdsburg. Pros: - lovely cabins with comfortable beds and modern fixtures - waterfall shower in the bathroom - nice hiking trails - kind, laid-back staff Cons: - the mini golf course was in laughably bad condition - we lost water for a few hours one morning - it's very far from... everything. That might be a "pro" for others, though. On the whole, it was a lovely place to stay, and I recommend it to anyone going to that area. read more

Website offers miniature golf, campfires, yoga center etc. none of these were options. Golf building had broken glass and run down. I think they are just starting and these really aren't offered yet. Was also happy that staff offered free coffee upon check in. Then next day different staff member asked if we could give a few bucks for coffee?! Don't offer free coffee one day and try to beg for dollars the next day! Otherwise we would have bought coffee at store while we were out! Nitpicking bothersome...train your staff to either charge or all offer free. Also, coffee machine broke anyway. Beds are also designed to knock your knees if you aren't used to them. Knocked mine hard twice and hurts so be careful! Recommend go somewhere else until they get their act together. read more
