All the guests seem to be nice people. The room was quiet. Like some customers commented that a lot of little things weren't good. Like the towels and sheets were old. I needed to use the towel that I bought from home. The shower head is so strong it is like the kind where water is blasting out from a fire engine hose. I have to use a bucket so I can properly clean myself. It is also the smallest shower I have ever been in.

The room was older but remodeled and updated. Two queen beds were pretty comfortable, the room was oversized with a table and two chairs as well as a fridge and ample storage places. Plenty of parking, well lit and freshly paved there is parking in multiple areas. We were able to park close to our room each night. The balcony in back is open to every room on the upper floor only, its semi private and there were only people out when we were once during our stay. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the easy proximity to everything in town 01165

I pulled in and it is obvious that the place is old and needs repairs. Lily was nice and while I booked a small room with no kitchen she implored me to upgrade and even showed me the difference in rooms - I didn't need a kitchen and the small room was fine, but I felt like maybe she needed the extra income, so I upgraded. The room itself is very modest, everything is old and in need of an update...I wasn't sure I wanted to walk on the carpet on my bare feet. With that being said, the bed, bathroom and kitchen area were clean. There is not HVAC, so be weary in the heat of summer (small wall AC unit) or the freeze of winter (small floor heater). I ventured to the elevated dock area to look out at the lake - The view is beautiful, there is zero doubt about that, but the dock and the surrounding structures are all in such disrepair its very sad; I didn't feel safe. The walls are quite thin (I was in #5) and I could here traffic from the street, doors closing, TV's, conversation, etc...Also, they advertise that no pets are allowed, but the man staying in the unit next to mine had a large labrador that came lumbering out as I arrived...He later took the dog to the lake, let it swim and then brought it back wet and let it back into his unit...mmmm wet dog smell! Would I stay again? Given that there really isn't any good hotel (Marriott, Hilton, etc) in Lakeport, his place is as good as any and did I mention the bag of Famous Amos cookies on my pillow?! My husband walked in to check out if they take dogs, the owner came out to look at our cute little pup, and within ten minutes we were tucked into a sweet little cottage close to the Lake. What we really enjoyed was the quality of the bed and linens. Comfy! And, I'll admit that I was anxious about staying by Clear Lake because of it's bad rep with poverty...but this place was quiet and actually gorgeous in a way that Napa can't compete with.

Jeremy was extremely kind and helpful with all the information regarding the hotel and boat launch/marina. Our room was perfect, bottom floor, right outside of the front desk area. We were able to launch our boat for free with a slip. King size bed was comfortable, and room had all the amenities. The restaurant is DELICIOUS for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In our 4 day stay, we never had a bad meal. Even tried the arcade and Little Caesars, kind staff continued. The pool was a great addition as the lake water was not very inviting. My only complaint has NOTHING to do with the hotel but the marina. Jeremy told us the marina and the hotel are separate. Day 3 of our stay, Saturday, there was to be a concert. Awesome, we love music. We had friends coming into town that afternoon to celebrate my husband's bday and take out their new boat. Well that afternoon, we walked to the boat launch, it has vendors in front of it. We asked the marina staff why they are blocking it, the two ladies didn't apologize or even look up at us, just said "oh yeah, it's been closed all day for the concert." We asked why we were not told, what if we planned on taking our boat out that night after fishing, they replied "well it's closed." Went to the hotel, again Jeremy and his kindness asked security to speak to management and that next time the hotel needs to be notified so they can tell hotel guests. Even a bloody sign at the launch would have been more help than the rude marina staff. Overall, this place is amazing. Very very friendly staff. Always accommodating and kind. It looks nothing like the website. Only the burners worked and unless you pulled out the whole stove, you'd get the oven to work. The refrigerator worked for a few hours and then would stop. The ceiling was leaking in the bathroom. And the towel hanger was hanging off. There are no curtains at all because they used them as bedsheets instead. The box spring is the wrong size for the king bed so one side is super uncomfortable and wiggles if you move too much. We couldn't even sit down on the patio and enjoy the lake view because the chairs were ripped and there was a bunch of stuck on bird poop on the table. I went out to buy a sponge to try to clean it and no luck. The couch was missing a cushion! They did have some raging hot water and ac in every room but too many cons for the pros. Definitely not a well kept room.

Since October is still "tourist" season, all of the rooms in the area were ridiculous for the quality of most of them. The bad: The beds aren't very comfortable. There was a small desk and if someone was sitting at it, someone else couldn't get by without that person either getting up or by crawling over the bed. There was a slightly musty smell to the room. The shower was laughable. I'm 5'3" and had to duck to get under the shower head. The water pressure was also very bad. It was not a pleasant experience at all for my 6' boyfriend. BYO pillows and towels!! The pillows were small uncomfortable squares and the towels were thin, small, and rough. We were woken at about 7:30 am on Sunday morning by renovation going on in one of the rooms a few doors down from us. Since we'd gotten in quite late the night before due to a very long football game, this was not very welcome. Listening to the whine of an electric saw got us up and moving, though. I had to get away from the noise. The good: The room was clean. The price, compared to everything else that was available, was reasonable. The motel is within walking distance of downtown where you can go to Lyndall's or Studebaker's for some breakfast. I left the fan on the heating/AC unit on through the night for white noise, and I was surprised that it was enough to keep me from being woken constantly by noise from other rooms or the nearby highway.
