This is a place we will never stay again. We booked a regular king room. The day of we got a call to "upgrade" our room to a suite. Safe to say there was no upstage other than more space. It looks nothing like the website. Only the burners worked and unless you pulled out the whole stove, you'd get the oven to work. The refrigerator worked for a few hours and then would stop. The ceiling was leaking in the bathroom. And the towel hanger was hanging off. There are no curtains at all because they used them as bedsheets instead. The box spring is the wrong size for the king bed so one side is super uncomfortable and wiggles if you move too much. We couldn't even sit down on the patio and enjoy the lake view because the chairs were ripped and there was a bunch of stuck on bird poop on the table. I went out to buy a sponge to try to clean it and no luck. The couch was missing a cushion! They did have some raging hot water and ac in every room but too many cons for the pros. Definitely not a well kept room. read more

This place was gross. It was clean, but not fully clean. We had a unit that was like an apartment. There were ants in the kitchen. The bathroom did not seem totally clean. The parking lot was not clean and the pool area was unclean, with bottles and cans laying around and the lounges were ripped and torn. I couldn't WAIT to LEAVE!!! read more

Room stunk of cleaning products that were overused and not rinsed away. Coughed for a good 15 minutes while I aired the room out. Floor coming apart, cable and phone didn't work and bathroom edges and walls dirty. Mold in the sink! Would not recommend. read more

The Inn is located in a sleepy town. It is relatively safe, but not for families. The pool is not clean (as evidenced by its blue green unclear color), the lounge chairs are visibly soiled, and there is no shade. Parking is small. No trash cans available. Yes, the owners were nice. Young teenage boys bored working at their family run motel. The maids were nice but again I question why my belongings were gone through when I wasn't there. read more

Very nice and comfortable place. Danny the owner was so nice. Upon checking into my room he up graded me to a suite for the same price as a regular room. The view is gorgeous and worth every bit of what I paid for and more. I rate this as a five star Inn and to say I will be back. I suggest everyone should come out and enjoy the Anchorage Inn as well you'll be amazed.. read more

poor maintenance and the pool was outright nasty, bird shit in the pool and all around it pool looks like it hadn't been clean in years.

Arrived and was welcomed by the manager Danny. What a nice guy, so welcoming! We reserved a king size bed best nights sleep in weeks. The scorching hot water was phenomenal, matching the water pressure. Room cleaned everyday, loved the smell of fabuloso. Asked for an extra blanket and it arrived quickly. I highly recommend the Anchorage Inn. We will be returning every 4 months. Thank you Danny!!! read more

Anchorage Inn - Request room 207!! - Hotels Near Me - Lakeport, California

Over $100 a night is way over priced for this place it is gross. Checking in the guy was really nice. However there is spit or sneeze drippings on the plexiglass and dog hair and dirt on the check in counter. If your worried about Covid don't touch anything bring you own glass cleaner and Clorox wipes. Once we got to our room we noticed no battery in the fire alarm. Nothing like being up to fire code. Cobwebs, Buggers and hairs hanging from the walls and ceiling. Came back in the evening their sign has no lights drove past It. You would think with what we paid they could have a sign that works! It was really hot with the AC on, the door has no weather stripping you can see right through it and the filters of the AC reminded me of my dryer lint trap I cleaned them out. No bathroom vent fan so we had to open the window bugs and spider webs all on the inside of the window where you reach for you shampoo the shower curtain was covered in black grease. We tried to heat up a little gas station pastry it took 4 minutes in their microwave. And I know that you don't actually sleep on the mattress but there were blood stains all over it. Make sure that you bring a pair of shower shoes to wear around the room and in the shower the floor was not swept or mopped and there is dust and dirt everywhere Went to put my bag on the bottom of the night stand and you can see in the picture there was so much dust that it left white stuff on my hands. Boogers and snot all over the TV as well. The Ice makers don't work and full of spider webs. The pool has leaves and stuff with our experience with everything else we wouldn't trust that the chemicals were right didn't want to catch anything. It seems that they are using this hotel for or weekly or monthly renters Not that is really a bad thing but there are vodka bottles on terrace right outside our door and cigarette butts everywhere on the ground up-and-down the stairs and by the laundry facility which I don't believe worked either. I understand that this is tourist season, however this is a complete tourist tourist trap if you want to pay a $100 for a room go somewhere else. Don't let their pictures On Expedia or their website fool you! Here are some pictures in real time July 2022. I think the best part was that we did get a little bit of a view of the lake and if you didn't like the view outside you could pull down the blackout shade and have a waterfall from Fiji! read more

Let me start by saying , ive been coming to this place off and on for over 25 yrs and ive seen a lot of good and bad things here. , But this stay has to be the worst ive ever seen. It starts with the check in. They claim to be "pet friendly" i was charged an extra 108$ for 2 dogs (3nights) on top of my nightly fee.. then they told me i couldnt leave my dog in the room unattended,, until i convinced them i had a crate for both,, then they proceeded to tell me that i had to leave them in the room while i was at the pool,,, does that make sense? The check in office reeks of curry, there is a hole in the ceiling for a prior repair of an upstairs plumbing issue. Once in the room, the walls are filthy, flooring, as stated in other reviews is cracked and missing grout, nightstand was missing a leg, comforters, besides not matching the room, were dirty and had ciggarette holes in them. The pillow cases were so stained, that i had to go ask for replacements,, the housekeepers told me that they "washed them several times, but the stains wont come out" and the owners were to cheap to replace them. There is a small fridge that worked and a microwave that is probably 15 yrs old. Lets move on to the bathroom,, or shouldi call it a "latrine"? The toilet seat was barely screwed on. (I fixed that) the shower was recently retiled, but done halfassed, the bathroom floor is 2 "higher than the room floor. The walls were filthy and the door looks like the same door that was here 25 yrs ago. I asked for extra washrags and they were more stained than the pillow cases. Outside the building is rundown. They made an attempt to remodel and it looks like they gave up halfway thru. Lots of dryrot in the railings, cracked stucco, and broken doorknobs. The ice machine looks to be about 25 yrs old and never cleaned. There is ciggarette butts absolutly everywhere around the pool, parking lot and walkways and obviosly no one sweeps up or cared. The pool area is recently redone, but also looks like they gave up and stopped halfway thru. No shade, no bbq. a couple tables and a grass area that is mostly dirt,,THERE IS NO SPA,!! As the signage stated The boat dock will handle 2 boats( if you could get to them due to the alge and weeds growing in the lagoon. These people own the resort nextdoor called the mallard house inn. It appears to be in the same state. They rent to locals and workers who "live" At the motel and i think 90% of the people here were residents and not visiting. My conclusion is ,,,,, absolute dump. Dont stay here unless you have no other option,, then strongly think twice aBout it. Look into the skylark or regency inn. wondering why i stayed and didnt leave? I had no choice. Everything else was booked for labor day wknd. Believe me. I checked. I rhink this place could be a great destination, if the owners showed some pride in ownership. But its obvious they dont care and just need the money. I never write reviews, but i felt i owed the community this service. read more

Should have been better. The pics online were not the same for the king size bed displayed. Two pillows. The bathroom had a missing rack, this was evident by the holes in the wall. We later located the towel rack in the closet with the anchors and plaster. We noticed an odd smell, there was a toliet plunger adjacent to the toliet and the garbage can was from a Holiday Inn. The closet had a main rod for hanging with no clothes hangers. The nightstands had drawers that were not cleaned out of the last occupants and the floors were dusty/dirty as evidenced by our socks. I was not able to change locations or notify the clerk as when all was discovered it was late. This is NOT a place I would recommend nor will I stay ever again. read more

Staying here was OK....it was a place to sleep. Pros: + On the main street, walking distance to the park and restaurants + Allowed dogs; modest pet fee ($25 I think for the whole stay, not per night) + Room felt spacious even with King bed + Shower was redone and had good water pressure + Room came with fridge and microwave + Friendly staff Cons: This place is just dingy. Their general rating can go way up with simple improvements - the walls were dirty. Like brown drip marks and random splatter marks. Lots of smudges and black skid marks - all could have easily been covered with paint (or just basic cleaning) - the blinds were broken such that there was a hole in the slats where anyone could see into my room. I had to hang a towel up on the blinds to block it. When we went to adjust the blinds the entire set fell off. - The lightswitch plate was broken, exposing a hole into the wall - The bed skirt was ripped and tattered - The towels were terrible. So thread barren they were almost see through All the cons were so easily fixable, which made it more perplexing. read more

Do you enjoy smoking meth? Are you looking for a place to maliciously loiter? This is the spot! I got catfished by this motels website. Most of the pictures on the website are not of the actual view or motel. When we arrived the manager asked if we would be interested in a larger room at the sister motel next door. My husband went to look at the room and there where low life's out side of the room working on their cars. The motel was being painted and there where drop clothes and plastic every where but not a painter in sight. The room was dirty, banged up, and nothing worked right. The coffee machine leaked black goo and the shower head came off when I turned the shower on. The pool is empty and surrounded with caution tape. There where half naked drug users and people up at all hours of the night. This place is dirty and falling apart. read more

Horrible hotel. Rooms are dirty, switched rooms during my stay, bloody pillows, chipped floors, horrible customer service. Would not recommend to anyone. Great location, horribly run. Barely speak any English. DONT STAY HERE read more

This place feels like a resort that has passed it's prime. The beautiful pool overlooking the lake is a nice touch. But when taking a closer look at everything it's dirty and run down. The pool had stuff at the bottom of the pool, miscellaneous rubbish around the premises. We stayed in the suite? It was super generous in square footage overlooking the lake but had a awkward 1/2 remodeled feel. The room has 2 queens, 1 king & 2 pull out couches. Broken Vinyl slider windows and new A/C units. But the walls, floors and kitchen were dirty. The full kitchen was a pleasant surprise but there were no pots, pans or silverware to enjoy the kitchen. The room came with a full sized kitchen table but only 2 kitchen chairs. The walls were missing pictures which made the oversized suite feel barren. Even though I'm complaining we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. Would I recommend this place?? Yes if you are willing to have a rough it feel. If I was looking for a clean and pampered feel definitely not. The place just shows neglect everywhere. read more

This place was terrible. The room was disgusting and the costumer service was even worse. I came in late evening, on a road trip with a pet. My options were limited because it was the only hotel for miles that allowed pets, and I was tired from a long drive. otherwise I would have left. I notice the flaws when I arrived that night, but I didn't notice how bad it was until after I got some rest, and woke up to a nightmare. As soon as I woke up I was out of there by 7am! Complaints: -loose wires on almost every wall -smoke detector torn out and wires left hanging -counters were dirty -Thin walls, Lady screaming her head off next door to her baby daddy -a group of men were hanging outside my room until 3AM loud af having a good time. (The next morning the manager said that after 9 everyone is supposed to be quiet) - multiple big holes in the wall, that let in A TON of ants --when I went to feed my cat in the morning, by the time I got out of the bathroom, the food and water bowl was literally filled with ants. And they're we're all over the floor, it was absolutely disgusting and uncomfortable. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT: -the next morning at check out when I informed the manager about the VERY VALID ISSUES, he was incredibly rude. He constantly interrupted before I could even finish my first sentence, and then never stopped talking over me. And told me not come back when I walked out the door. I said the place is overpriced, and then he got pissed saying that I can't ask for a refund (which I didn't, I was just informing him of the flaws for the next guest and I asked for an apology at the very least, for the terrible experience and service, but he just couldn't say sorry for any of it) Ugh AND THEN, after Taking the criticism so horribly & telling me not to come back; the manager followed me back to my van and offered to give me back the $20 pet fee. I told him I wanted an apology, which he simply could not do. And he continued to make excuses for all the complaints, like they're weren't valid instead of just acknowledging and fixing the problems. He tried to have me leave, saying "you'll get your 20 dollars back in a week" Which was a lie. He didn't take my card for a refund, he just wanted me to leave and not have to pay me once I left. (Even though he was the one to follow me outside and offered it to me) I had to make him Go back into the office with and put the $20 back on my card in front of me. After an hour of this bullshit costumer service, he finally apologized. But it was forceful and condescending when he said it. This man has a fragile ego, and I sincerely hope he losses his business If he doesn't learn how to be professional and responsible. read more

Terrible Place. Pictures are not true of the room we had. Rented a kitchenette that had no amenities whatsoever and a fridge that sounded like it was going to explode. The kitchen window blinds would not close. Furniture was dirty and looked like it was found on the side of the road. The bed was nice. Sheets seemed to be clean but stained. The shower had a water leak coming through the ceiling when the water was turned on upstairs. At this point, I didn't want to inspect the towels too closely. Had nice TV's and countertops......haha Hope you like puke green paint on the walls. read more

This place was horrible . I didn't know if I wanted to sleep in the car or the room because neither one was safe . As soon as the sun came out we were leaving . The infestation was out of this world . They told us we got the last room so we had to stick it out with it being the 4th of July and everything packed we had no other options . They're was ants on everything including the beds . We ended up having to call for bug spray and I sprayed it EVERYWHERE but it did not help . The ants ended up biting us all throughout the night , probably that and bed bugs ! I was horrified !!! The meth heads were up all night and extremely close to our room . The blinds don't even close all The way and the next morning they didn't even have the decency to refund us anything . Don't stay here . I think I'd rather stay the night in a jail cell read more

After reading all the reviews on line about the Anchorage Inn, I thought "it couldn't be this bad." But it was. The check-in experience was great. The woman behind the counter was very nice and helpful. Our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We realized that the lobby staff smoke, and it drifts up into the rooms. The room was not clean. The towels in the bathroom did not seem to have been washed. There was lipstick on one, and they did not smell like they just came out of a washer, one smelled like someone's head. Same with the sheets on the bed, they were wrinkled, had greasy stains on them, and it seemed like the staff thought they looked clean enough and left them on the bed. There was no bathmat for the shower, and the window in the bathroom had no screen. There were no cups for the coffee maker in our room. There was chipping paint everywhere, and just signs of neglect. There had been a leak in the shower and the repair job was sloppy. After the first night, we noticed whiskers stuck in the bar of soap (which had been sealed when I opened it). I had not shaved while staying there, so the whiskers must have been left on the counter by a previous guest. There was an electrical outlet with no cover, a smoke alarm with a plastic bag over it, 2 outlets were put in upside down, it felt like no one at the hotel cared. This is really a shame because they just bought the motel next door, so now there'll be 2 rundown hotels that don't have clean rooms. Our room happened to overlook the street and early one morning the truck came to pick up the recycling. Unfortunately, the recycle bins were full of food and garbage and the motel got red-tagged for putting garbage in the recycle bins. Another sign of how they don't care. We had other family members staying in the hotel as well. They asked for a few more towels and it sounded like the hotel didn't want to give them any. It was just a shame all the way around. It just felt like the owners did not care at all. They are content to take the money and let the guests complain. It feels like the owners assume most vacationers won't be back anyway, so who cares. IF you read the other comments, nothing has changed in 5 years. Rooms and linens dirty, management does not like to give you extra towels. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. I found bed bugs and what looked like white insect powder sprinkled around the baseboards of my room. Part of the blinds was missing. The furniture is old and in poor condition. I left after spending only one night there. It appeared that several rooms were either occupied by people who lived there permanently or were occupied temporarily by ladies of the night. Even the parking lot was filthy. Disgusting. Whoever gave this motel a 2, 3, 4, or 5 star rating is lying. read more

I stayed at the Anchorage Inn a couple of times this year. I was at Lakeport helping CalFire with the Rocky and Valley fires. Rooms were hard to find and I was lucky to find one in both occasions. The rooms are clean and comfortable and priced very well. The Inn is by the lake and has a very nice view. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to be helpful. I heard about some motels increasing rents during the fire season but was happy with what I paid here. I liked this Inn and will return for a vacation soon :). read more

Amy at the front desk is the best thing about his place. She gave us two different rooms to choose from and was super friendly professional and accommodating. She does her job with a smile on her face and knows the place is a bit rough around the edges. If you need a place to lay your head down at night for rest it is very quiet, more than some other 5 star places we have stayed at, even on a Saturday night. Only recommendation is to have a strict no smoking policy for rooms if your going to be having clientele initial acceptance of such policy. Or designate smoking to 1/5 of the rooms and cluster them together away from the NON SMOKING rooms. read more

Please do NOT go here. I don't even know where to start! Here it goes. First of all, once I stepped into the room, my shoes stuck to the floor at every step like there was 5 layers of gum, whatever bodily fluids you can think of, and urine, as I was also welcomed by the wonderful smell of piss that stayed all night long even after leaving the door and all the windows open for hours. Second, most of the appliances and window shades were broken or nonexistent, so privacy was out of the window. The bathroom.. Oh lord.. the sink was as small as an ant hill, the shower knob had pliers as a knob (like what?), the toilet was so low even a two year old could sit on it, and lastly, the towels (holy sh*t) were stained with all the dark colors of the electromagnetic spectrum, you can only imagine what it was used for before we got there. Third, the walls had holes in it like an orgy or drug party went haywire and everyone started punching the walls. There is no wifi. There is no housekeeping. There is no sense of cleanliness. read more

Towels were dirty, smelled of other people, and seemed to have been hung back up dirty, sheets had grease and hairs on them and seemed like they hadn't been washed either. Bathroom counter covered with hair, dirt, and water stains - obviously hadn't even been wiped. This place has really gone downhill since we stayed several years ago. Sad to hear the owners have now bought the Mallard next door. One less place to stay in Lakeport. The receptionist was lovely and helpful, but I think she has no power over the owners, who seem to rake in the money and not do one thing to keep this place nice. Won't be back. Camping would be cleaner and quieter. And smell less like cigarettes I'm guessing. read more

Disappointed in the room this time around!!Our stay was not a pleasant one, the owners dont care about this place..stairway to 2nd floor felt usafe, beds were hard and too uncomfortable to sleep, TV looked as if it was falling off the wall, front door had 2 inch gap on bottom the wind was blowing cold air all night, heater/cooler sucked and wouldn't function correctly, annoying neon corporate lighting that kept flickering when in use, no carpet -mismatched floors were freezing, walls were scuffed and had scrapes in it as if a fight happened, windows had cheap pull up blinds when inside and light is on you can see in, bathroom had new shower(only part of room that was udated), but No grab bars anywhere, no shower lip to keep water in the shower- bathroom floor kept flooding and we had to use all the towels..Room looked like a 1970s garage sale leftovers , sketchy place now .. Apparently "remodeled" means 3 year old carpet that's never been cleaned, paint over old damaged walls and a window AC unit. Our approximately 400 sq foot "suite" was about 95 degrees inside and only had a window AC in the living room. The central air was not working. The manager suggested that we sleep on the sofas in the living room since the AC unit couldn't cool the whole suite. He did not offer another room - I had to ask. read more

The website for this property is nowhere near accurate for this old motel run by uninterested, inexperienced management, and the graphics that appear on the page do not match the region. There's no Jacuzzi, it's disorganized, dirty and is worse for wear inside and out. The potential for a successful renovation (as stated on the website) is nearly nonexistent. The lack of courtesy or hospitality is so awful that no person or family should ever have to endure a stay at the Lakeport Anchorage Inn. And for the price range, it would be wise to seek shelter any place else on earth. It's a shame, because it has a lovely view of beautiful Clear Lake and Mount Konocti. I wish them well, however, and hope that you will enjoy the otherwise cheerful atmosphere of Lake County. read more

My Stay Started ok , My room was dated. Furniture was worn, towels had spots on them , Some of the other guest had dogs in the rooms barking.. it was just unreal , but i just was there to do some relax time and do some fishing on the lake and it wasn't no more locations available. I had a bad experience with the room service and manager on site. When leaving to go fishing I placed the do not disturb tag on my door. When me and my wife returned we noticed that someone has entered the room and made the bed and cleaned etc.. and all our belongings was move around in the room .. I had some loose money that I left on the floor and it was Gone.. and my wife noticed the some of her clothing missing. I went to speak with the on site manager and let her know what was done.. She became very disrespectful telling me her worker wouldn't do that and basically she doesn't believe me , then said she will look at the cameras and speak to her room service when she arrives. So when the room service attendant arrived I went to speak with the manager again.. She was trying to argue me down about this situation.. so the police got involved and she informed the police that her Cameras are Not able to play back.. Wow I was confused. My husband and some friends went up to Lakeport to bike the Konocti challenge. This is a motel that is newly owned and the owners are trying to do updating while people are staying here. I think the place will improve with time. Pluses-They have a beautiful location, convenient to downtown Lakeport, shops and restaurants. Everything is walking distance form here. The pool is clean and the grassy area in the back is a nice place to catch some rays and chill. A BBQ area and tables and chairs are available. Our beds were comfy and our rooms were clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful too. We were in a suite. The rooms were huge and lots of closets. I guess for long terms guests. You could stay here for a few months because it's really a small apartment with two bedrooms and a full kitchen and living room.A large kitchen table for eating was great. The towels were clean and soaps and shampoo was available. Our heat and air conditioning worked well. It was central on both, not units. A small coffee unit was available with coffee creamer and sugar in room. A few tea bags would have been nice too. Minus, The bathroom shower leaks.( I hate water wasting) Things like the sink were chipped but I guess eventually they will be replaced. The carpets were very dirty but everything else was clean It's not the Hilton but It suited our needs. Currently this in not an up scale place but i give them points for trying. If you are really looking for luxury, this in not the place for you. But if you can overlook a few things , it's fine. We didn't try the TV so I am not sure about reception in the area. read more

I have stayed at this hotel here & there over the years & wow has it gone downhill!! I can tell they tried to update it but it's still run down. Dirty? Yes! There was what looked like boogers on the wall, spots of mold in the shower & rickety & what feels like unstable rails. When I asked for extra towels (there were 2 in the room & 4 of us in the room), I was questioned as to why.... Really?! There were some "interesting" folks who appeared to be living there as well. Overall, the place did what it was needed for - sleep but it can come a long way still. read more

We stayed here 1 night for a fishing tournament. When we drove up I was a little scared about the rooms. The staff was very nice and when we got our room ro my surprise it was nice. Looks like maybe old stuff from rooms they are remodeling but all that should be removed makes the property look bad read more

I have stayed at the Anchorage Inn several times this fall and have always had a clean, comfortable room. Some are quieter than others and some have pretty lake views. The Inn is owned and run by a young couple doing as much as they can to renovate a 60-ish year old property in a town that has seen better days. Like most lakefront properties here, it also took a beating in the winter of 2017. Things are getting fixed as quickly as possible. The housekeeping staff and assistant manager go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. My guess is that the other reviewers who had dirty linens and such may have been accidentally checked into a room that had not been cleaned. The price has always been reasonable, especially for a weekly or monthly rate. The rooms with kitchens are really helpful for families on vacation. The location is good -- you can walk to many things in this charming, friendly "Main Street USA" town. read more

Our family has been visiting Clear Lake every summer for 25 years. We always stay at the Anchorage Inn. We had reservations for July of 2017 for a weeks stay Around May we got a call from the manager advising us the hotel grounds has been so badly damaged by the storms that winter that our trip should be cancelled. We decided to plan something else for our family vacation. Since there were 27 people going this was no small task. About 2 weeks later the manager called to tell my wife that the docks were repaired and they were ready for our large family to enjoy the week. We went ahead with our trip. We've stayed at the Anchorage dozens of times and tolerated a lot of unusual conditions. Non working appliances, missing knobs, no A/C etc. However what happened to me on this last trip was beyond belief. The "repaired" boat dock was a mis mash of epoxy coated particle boards nailed together. It was shaky and partially submerged. Two thirds of the patio was collapsed into the lake. We were surprised they had enticed us to come. Most of our group are cousins under 25 so we stayed. Beside we had driven 700 miles. On the third day as I walked down the dock ( I'm 61) my foot went through the patched boards and I sustained a leg wound that required surgery and 6 weeks off work. After $4000.00 in medical bills We attempted to contact the owners to file an insurance claim. Not only would they not return our calls they refused to accept a certified letter. The owners are an LLC in New Deli India so the attorney we tried to use was unable to get any response. Not only are the facilities shoddy, the owners are Non present and are probably operating without proper insurance nor permits. Beware if you go there the place is a death trap and you will be on your own if you or your family members get hurt. read more
