Food was very good, service was just okay, I think the cashier taking orders was not in a good mood. I really enjoyed the ribs. The brisket was a little dry, the pulled chicken was good. Overall wouldn't come back unless I was in the area

I must say- this was hands down the best pulled pork I've ever had. I usually never order it out of fear of it being dry or flavorless but this was moist, delicious, full of flavor and as a god mix of meat and fat to make each bite delectable. My fiance loved the ribs, the top of the ribs was seasoned so well and maintained a great consistency and texture. I loved the potato salad, chopped into smaller pieces than I'm used to but I finished it all. The Mac...... idk. It was too Smokey and saucy for my taste. I prefer Mac with gooey cheese and a gos cheese pull versus saucy. The spicy squirrel was awesome and the vinegar!

Halal beefy bacon cheeseburger - absolutely phenomenal!!!

My friend and I went here on a Wednesday evening, and the food was absolutely amazing!! The service was wonderful!! We could not believe how juicy and flavorful everything was!! The restaurant was also so very nice and clean!! We will definitely be coming back to this place because the food is just excellent and will try other items on the menu for sure!!

We went here with a good friend and really enjoyed it. The food was well made with good flavor and a reasonable price. I had a half rack of ribs. They were perfectly cooked and not too fatty. This was our first time here, but not the last!!

Wow!! Great bbq with a nice option of sauces including sweet and savory, spicy, and a clear vinegar. Nice offering of draft beers..some local. Service counter was quick and with a smile!

Out in aldie, Virginia, we're limited with restaurants and unfortunately hammerdown doesn't particularly deliver in flavor. I found that everything was missing a certain pizzazz that would make the flavor profile memorable. Sausage: it was good but it could use more grilling as it just felt under grilled. The snap also wasn't hitting the mark Brisket: probably the best out of everything. Fall apart good Macaroni and cheese: the absolute worst Mac n cheese I've ever had in my life. Noodles were overcooked and if you look at the picture, it's most definitely missing a key ingredient... Cheese. The cheese was very diluted and watery. The taste was bland and almost flavorless with just a tiny touch of cheese and stretch Potato salad: so heavy on the mayo. I had to add some of my own country Dijon mustard seed to get it to really hit the spot. While everything was okay, it's just not worth the drive when there are much better options out in chantilly.

Excellent! So glad we finally got a chance to try HammerDown BBQ. Indoor seating is available, it does get packed in here quick. Employees are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Ordered takeout and everything was ready in no time. It was neatly wrapped and ready to go. Their Original BBQ Sauce is delicious and goes well with everything! Tried the Sliced Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken, Ribs, Baked Beans, and Potato Salad. It was all a hit! The meats are seasoned well and have a lovely consistency. We were completely blown away by how flavorful their chicken was. It almost tastes like Peruvian Chicken! The Baked Beans were tender and filled with flavor. Our little ones are big fans! I am so glad this place is in our neck of the woods and can't wait for our next visit.

This place is very far from my home, but so worth it. My God, what is in their meats? Love? Magic? So freakin' good.

One of the best bbq places in the area. Brisket is my favorite! Chicken and pulled pork are also very good too.

My experience wasn't the best as our waiter forgot to put in our drinks and food, so I waited almost an hour for a drink and 2 sides, but our party was big and they comped our meals and apologized. The ambiance inside and outside is very casual, good for big groups to meet up and relax. However, there was a lot of flies and bugs inside which made it really overstimulating to eat, especially when they'd fly into our drinks. The food was okay, my sweet potato fries were soggy and salty and my brussels sprouts were burnt. My drink also wasn't that great, I got a passionfruit mosaic cider, which tasted more like a wine than a cider tbh. Very disappointing after the long wait. Honestly, I think this would be a good place to chill since the food and drinks are affordable, but the service experience was so bad I don't know if I would come back.

It may be hidden away in Data Alley, but it's well worth the drive. Owned by a sweet Black American couple who deeply understand the ins and outs of Southern cuisine, you will feel the warmth of home at this simple storefront restaurant. They feature a menu replete with St Louis Ribs, gumbo, catfish, whiting, Mac n Cheese, Greens w Smoked Turkey, candied yams, banana pudding, homemade sweet potato pie and more! This was such a find. We had the 1/2 pound catfish platters and the batter was seasoned so perfectly. Additionally, the candied yams were cooked with just the right mix of sweet and savory and I could have had second. Greens are difficult to nail, and C & E nailed the texture and flavor. So good -- just add a little hot sauce and you're ready to eat! The potato salad and fried okra are also tasty options. Next time, we'll try the Mac n cheese. To finish the meal, we really enjoyed the special dessert: peach cobbler cinnamon roll. My spouse loved the banana pudding as well. 10/10 recommend! Spread the word and support small businesses. There are a lot of chain soul food restaurants out there, but Southern Bites deserves its flowers. Total class of its own!

We did the six-course chef's counter dinner at Ahso, and I'm still thinking about it a day later…read more Chef Jason was on his A game! We started with a black manhattan, rich and a little bitter from the amaro. The first course was a bánh mì, and it was exceptional. The pickled onion, carrot and herbs were the perfect bright counter to the rich, fatty filling, and the jalapeño gave it real heat, which I loved. My only complaint is that I wished it was a menu item so I could come back and order a full sandwitch! Next was a mapo scallop with speck. It had a dark, glossy sear with a little Sichuan-style heat, plus crispy speck and crushed nuts on top. Instead of wine, they paired it with a cocktail of Four Roses, Fuji apple, mint and honey under a pink foam. It sounded sweet but wasn't, and the apple played really well off the pork. The sourdough-crusted halibut had a crackly crust over artichokes in a red broth with fried sage. It was paired with a 2019 Empire Estate dry Riesling from the Finger Lakes, and that wine was the surprise of the night. We're not Riesling drinkers at all, but this one had a smoky, almost burnt-cedar quality that I've never tasted in a white before. We took a bottle home. The braised short rib raviolo was one big round of pasta covered in parmesan, garlic chips and bacon. It came with Our Lady of Guadalupe's 2023 Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills, a big, ripe Pinot that had no trouble standing up to the short rib. The Pennsylvania duck breast was pink edge to edge with well-rendered fat, served with squash purée, mushrooms and a nest of shoestring potatoes. The pour was a 2018 Cerro Añón Gran Reserva Rioja, which was the best food-and-wine match of the night. Dessert was a pumpkin crème brûlée in bar form, with chocolate leaf tuiles, cream and a granola crumble, served with Blandy's 5-year Malmsey Madeira. Very fall, very good. Every pairing was on point, and a few of them pushed us toward wines we'd never have picked ourselves. That's exactly what you want from a counter like this. Watching the kitchen work from a couple feet away is half the fun. If you live in Loudoun and keep driving into DC for a tasting menu, try this first!

It was by no means packed, there were a few tables empty the duration of our meal as people ate and left. But the service was INCREDIBLY slow. They sent out an amuse-bouche which was nice- bacon and pimento in a little wonton cup. Our appetizers came out more than 30 minutes later. We ordered our son's kid's meal first, before we ordered our apps, but it came out after our entree's which was closer to 7:15. I assume the kid's meal coming out late was an awful server mistake, I can't imagine it would take over an hour to make a burger and fry up some potatoes. The chef was nice enough to let us order the octopus from the tasting menu (it was the only reason we came here, didn't realize it was part of the tasting). I almost did order the 5 course tasting menu, because it looked really good- but I'm so thankful I didn't. The table behind us was seated before us and by the time we left he was only on his third course. I'm also always cold but it was really warm in the restaurant. Not sure if their ac was broken or if it couldn't keep up with the weather. Not knocking the restaurant for this, things happen. But they probably could've used another few fans. We were the one table in the middle so the air wasn't getting to us. Not knocking the restaurant at all for this, it's a hot hot summer and things like this happen. The kid's meal portion was huge, actually bigger than my gnocchi order. We also ordered the brussels, pork ribs, seared tuna, tagliatelle, branzino, and pork chop. The pork chop was the most memorable thing. Based on this experience we wouldn't come back here on our own. We wouldn't rule it out though- if someone wanted to go here with us for any reason, we would consider giving it another shot.
