Visited Lark today with our uncles who live in the area - everyone's first time and the place was a hit! Very family friendly, plenty of place to run around and the food comes out quick (no specific kids menu but the grilled cheese was a huge hit). The Director of Operations, Kat, was lovely, came by our table to chat and shared a little more about the makers market they were hosting and some of the special events (Monday bingo night!!) they have going on. The food was not only quick but also delicious -- I will be dreaming about the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls tonight. My uncle was in the mood for a burger which wasn't on the brewery menu but they did have at a food truck outside!! BLUF: Popular venue on a nice day that gets very crowded. Parking is tough when busy. Food & beverages are pricey. Food seemed ok but not outstanding. Limited menu that seems more like the strategy is to see how many transformations of basic pub grub one can do. Not necessarily elevations but more like combinations of limited ingredients & heated quickly. Lots of seating but not really enough if you have kids. Come early on a busy day, if so. And, keep an eye out so that you don't get bonked by a ball, running children, jump ropes, bean bags, frisbees, cricket bats. Dogs on leashes allowed outside, so watch your step. Poop station available. Not too impressed by the menu. Unimaginative, quickly assembled bar food. Small portions. High prices. The food being brought out by staff didn't look or smell enticing enough to order anything. I'm guessing people enjoyed the booze. I think food trucks visit occasionally. It's a place good for gathering, and the kids entertain themselves. Not many appealing options for drinkers of beverages not containing alcohol & the few available are expensive. Staff seemed nice, polite, generally helpful. Are there staff enforcing rules so that you don't get bonked by a ball or bat on the patio? Not so much. When it's crowded, the grounds can get awfully squishy, but once you find a good place to sit, it's nice to kick back with friends and family. Worth the drive? For some. I'd definitely not drive out for the food. But if you're in the area and want to take a break, and it's not crowded, then it's a convenient place to pull off and stretch your legs. Attended a breakfast with Santa event this weekend and although there were some positives, the overall event could use some tune up. When we arrived there was no seating, which was strange seeing as we paid for seats. There was a second tent which had its own offerings but not nearly as festive as the larger area and it was quite cold inside. The food was fine but ironically the beers were really average. I was surprised that they lacked a lot of depth. The overall beverage operation was really disorganized and almost everything lacked signage. I thought one cooler was water but it was hot cocoa. Not sure how anyone would know? Also there was no milk next to the coffee station. I felt like I had to ask wait staff for everything- I.e. where's the juice? Are there straws? The whole operation was odd because it seemed like there was a lot of staff but no one was doing much in particular. I can only assume this is a management issue. I think Lark is a average - ok place. The atmosphere is good to have events- dog and kid friendly. There are a lot of different area's to rent for your events. I don't think the food is overly great and the drinks are not overly good either. So the driver to come is really the the outdoor space and sections to gather with groups. It is convenient meeting location for a lot of people, thus it's good again, to have events here. I've come twice now with kids in our party. I like there is some land for them to run on. I don't like it borders the street with a fence that isn't fully closed off. We also came for the Holiday crafts they had - but they ran out a hour before the event closed and we ended up walking away empty handed. read more

We came here for flights and good vibes while enjoying our drinks outside on a nice sunny day. Actually, day was a little too sunny and warm so after my flight, I treated myself to a frozen berry froze and that was refreshing and much needed!! To snack, we got truffle fries. It was a bit steep paying over $12 for a snack but for the views and good vibes, it balances out. Parking is free. Water stations are plenty. They have bathrooms both inside and outside. Stopped in on a cool, overcast Friday afternoon last week - first time visiting Lark... I reviewed the beer menu and ordered a tasting flight comprised of the following ales: Liquid Asset IPA (7.6% ABV) On A Whim NE IPA (7.5% ABV) On My Way NE IPA (6.5% ABV) Hops and Dreams AIPA (6.2% ABV) I'm not a fan of New England style IPA's in general. The Liquid Asset IPA was by far my favorite of the four ales. So after finishing the tasting flight - I went back for a pint of the Liquid Asset IPA. I sat outside on the back patio area of the main building and enjoyed the cooler air. There was a musician performing inside - and they piped his music through their speaker system so you could also hear him outside. I also ordered some food - using the barcode attached to my table. I went for the boneless Buffalo - with sides of Buffalo sauce and Blue Cheese. The food was delivered right to my table within 10 minutes of ordering. Pretty good heat on the Buffalo - more than I was expecting. They also had a nice texture/crunch to them. Nice snack to go with an IPA! Cool venue - I typically don't enjoy breweries when there are kids running amok - there were some kids playing out back - but the place wasn't so busy that it turned into a circus. Service was good. Came by for a flight and a snack. This location is huuuuge and I definitely want to return with a group or at least my kids. They have multiple areas even within the barn-like restaurant. I will say that it's more self service. They have servers but their teens who seem to be just hanging around so it's faster to go and pick up your food than attempt to wait for anything. Another chuckie cheese like atmosphere- tons of kids everywhere and really hard to sit inside and speak when its so loud. Parking: its like a game of Rush - they squeeze you in or you may be parked far back. The buildings: they have 2-3 covered spaces outdoors but when it's hot, even that doesn't really provide relief. There is one area that is 21+ and there seem to be a few bars outside. The inside has a smaller upstairs that was rented out and the lower area was very packed. The main building had individual stall bathrooms that always had a line. Service: quick since you can order at the bars or using QR codes. We didn't order food but got the froze/sangria mix quickly when we ordered and you can easily close out. At a place this busy, we really appreciate fast service. My friend was pregnant and they golf carted her from her far parking spot to the front which was awesome. Drinks: froze/sangria mix was refreshing but wasnt sure how much wine was really in it and it was quite sweet. Would try other things in the future (my friend got a snow cone she loved). Overall great spot when the weather is punishingly hot or the place isnt packed to the gills with birthday celebrations. Ventured out to Lark to kill some time during soccer games. I was impressed with the grounds and set up. They have a massive outdoor area with corn hole, games, TVs, fire pits, seating, photo op area and bar. You can order drinks and food from the QR code on your table and the staff with bring it out. The menu isn't large, but enough to meet the needs of a group. I ordered the London Broil French Dip sandwich, truffle fries and then snacked on then wings and pretzels from other parents. Everything was satisfying, but a little pricey. There was a Hawaiian food truck that I noticed after the fact. Overall a great place to relax, enjoy the weather and grab some food. Booked a winter igloo for a special Christmas Eve birthday celebration and I must say, it was a REALLY good time! This place is soooooooo cute! I mean, from the front door, through the main dining hall, and out to the yard, everything is so nice! The service is also great. You order food via a QR code and they promptly bring it out to your igloo. In the igloo, there's plenty of comfortable seating, throws, TV and heater to stay warm. I was also able to put up a little bday decor without a problem. The booking comes with a pitcher of beer or wine and a charcuterie pretzel. I also think these igloos are really affordable compared to other DC area igloo dining options. I mean, it's a little ways from the city, but very much worth the drive. Menu items were also decent, we had steak and cheese egg rolls, chicken tenders, fries, salad, sausage and wings. The various beers we tried were great and we ended up buying more to take home with us. It's the perfect way to have a chill bite with the fam. It's kid friendly and pet friendly. And my 13 year old was asking if they'd still have the igloos for her late spring birthday because that's where she wants to celebrate. read more

Lark was an average brewery experience that I would say people can check out and determine if it's to their taste or not, but for us it was very "mid". The plus is that it's large outdoor space allows for people to spread out but we also went on a weekday and it seems like others may have a different experience on the weekends. We liked that they have a barcode system to bring your food and drinks to your table versus going up to the bar yourself. We enjoyed a beer, cider, and frozen sangria which were all pretty tasty. We also got the Philly egg rolls which were okay but they give you a very small amount of sauce/cheese to use for dipping. The prices here are much higher than any other brewery we've been to in the area so if your looking for budget this isn't the place. They have a few choices for outdoor games like corn hike and Jenga which are pretty fun and add to the atmosphere. All in all this place is okay for people who live close by and don't mind spending the extra money. read more

Some had off tastes (diacetyl for instance), were way off of standard style guidance, most were flat..i think the only drinkable one was their Red. I bought 2 flights - only 4 pours each...and when i checked out, $17 per flight?!? I have never in my years of WW travels ever paid nearly that - that's equivalent of $17 pint...yes flights cost more than regular full pours but never 2x+ This is clearly someone's self-indulgence - and not to be taken seriously.... read more

A new brewery a little out of the urban environment. Very nice new construction. Main building has some indoor seating along with bathrooms (love the sit stand markings), bar, and kitchen. Large outdoor area with lots of seating, though most of it was in use. Two covered seating bar areas. One is marked for 21 and above only. Lots of kids and dogs roaming around. Several corn hole sets and a few other entertainment options. Good selection of beer. Decent selection of food. Beer is a bit pricey, ranging from $8.50 to $10 per pint. Food is also a little high, but not quite as bad. I made the mistake of starting at the bar and opening a tab. When I found seating and saw the QR code to order, I realized I'd have to open a second tab since there is no way to link your currently open tab. Save yourself the trouble and find your seating location first. Drinks and food were delivered individually but fairly quick after ordering. This is definitely worth a visit if you're within an hour drive, but due to the prices we probably won't go back often if at all. read more

I've been here a couple times now, once with family and once for an event, and it's fantastic. There's a lot of beautiful outdoor space and really convenient QR codes for ordering. It's kid-friendly, and there are games of cornhole scattered throughout. The food and service are fantastic. On a hot day, I'd recommend the frozen rosé! When I was planning an event, the coordinators were super helpful and responsive: I always got a response back within the same day. We rented out the Found Pavilion with catering, and the event was success. We received multiple comments about how cool the venue was. The service we received was top-notch: everyone was friendly and helpful. We did caprese skewers, ravioli bite, and bbq meatballs as stationary appetizers, and then the premium buffet package with salmon filet, pulled pork, brisket, mac & cheese, brussels sprouts, and Caesar salad for mains. Everything was delicious. A severe thunderstorm came out of nowhere toward the end of the event, and they let us hang out past our scheduled event time to wait it out: we had great service throughout. Lark is one of the newer breweries located within Loudoun County. It has a designated parking lot, but can get busy so there is street parking on Route 15. They have beer, wine, sangria and cocktails. Their service was good for being busy. We had a beer and sangria. They do have food here: from nachos, to burgers/sandwiches, to salads and ice cream. We came here for my 30th Birthday in May and the staff at Lark was super helpful and accommodating to our group. Food: everything is snacks style but great finger food options. The nachos, wings and flatbread pizzas were a hit. Our group doesn't eat beef so there were quite a few menu items we didn't indulge in but the ones we could, they hit the mark every time. Drinks: everyone enjoyed the ease of ordering their beverages under one tab. Besides the beer, their cocktails and non alcoholic drinks, like their lemonade were very refreshing and not sugary. Ambiance: we were under the outside pavilion that allows kids (love that there's one for adults only and one for families). The staff at Lark make sure everything is consistently clean and guests are having a good time. We've gone back a few other times and have had the best experience every time. Lark Brewing opened up probably about 2-3 months ago. Been here a couple of times now. Love that it's so close to home. The first time we were super excited to try everything since it was new to us. However, we quickly found out how expensive everything was especially when you close your tab at the end of the night. The food was okay. I'd say our favorites were probably the short rib grilled cheese and the fries. I did love that they offer wine slushies since I don't really drink beer. Our first time, the service was very slow and we weren't aware that you could order by scanning the QR code at your table. I think my favorite part about this brewery is the atmosphere and open space of the property. They do have bar and table seating as well as fire pits. The best aspect of this brewery is that it has lovely indoor and outdoor space. But the beer is expensive and not very g. The food is even worse. Tasted a few beers and settled on the red ale. Got poured a glass with no foam. Because it was flat. The staff tasted it to confirm it was flat, but said they could not fix it. So I had to pick another beer. The food was bad. The sandwich was described as a short rib grilled cheese. But what we got was a soggy sandwich with mushy meat and I think some cheese over-melted into the bread (maybe that is why it was so soggy)? It came with soggy fries. All for $16. I wanted to like this place, but can't see any reason to return. read more

This was mine and my best friend's very first time to visit this brewery and we were just in awe over the beauty of the entire property! The front of building is beautiful stackable stone with a beautiful wood beam structure. You're also greeted with an adorable sign that reads, "Lovely day for a Lark!" which we both thought a great adage. Once inside, we were blown away with how SUPER open it is!! Wow!! Just HUGE with lots of space!!! We went on Thursday evening so it was VERY quiet with only a few folks gathered around and mainly by their beautiful fireplace. You can either go up to the bar to order, but their concept is to scan the code at the table to place your order on your phone and then they bring you your food and drinks. All of the servers were young, but SUPER friendly and very kind! My friend and I ordered the Jumbo Pretzel and the Cheesesteak Eggrolls and both were delicious!! Come hungry because the pretzel is HUGE!! We scarfed down the eggrolls so I didn't get a photo of that, but I managed to get the pretzel and our AMAZING wine slush drinks!! Yummy!! Yes, cold outside, but it was perfect inside!! We did end up moving everything up to the loft area since it was quieter and we could oversee the entire brewery. My friend was able to get one of the very kind servers to place ALL OF our drinks, gifts, waters, food, and silverware on a tray and wheel it over and then carry it up on a tray to us!! We had our company's Christmas party at Lark Brewing. Yes, it feels like Lark is WAY out in the middle of nowhere, but once you get there, you appreciate the seclusion, ample space, and open floor plan. The outside has PLENTY of options with open fireplaces, smoking igloos, and benches. Inside, you can operate, move around, and mingle (100 people) without feeling on top of each other.
