    "Nachos"

This place is really cool. Good beer, great seating areas both inside and out. However, we ordered the nachos and they came with almost no cheese at all. So, I asked the waitress for a cup of cheese. She brought it and told me she would have to charge me $2.50 for the cheese. I said, "But there's no cheese on the cheese nachos!?" She looked, and then said, "You're right. But I still have to charge you." I told her to keep her cheese.

Beer was okay. The best was the farm ale. The oatmeal stout was drinkable but not great, the cucumber lime hefeweizen was too odd for me, the toasted lager was bland, and the lost barrel lager had no flavor. The food was entirely unremarkable. My husband got the buffalo chicken wrap and I got the chicken skewer appetizer. The best part of the meal was the cilantro cumin slaw. The service was friendly, the patio was dog friendly, and the ambiance was lovely, but it wasn't enough to compensate for the $8.50 pints and the $14 appetizer.

Still our favorite Virginia brewery! We visit 2 or 3 times a year from Austin Texas area and continue to enjoy the beer and fire pits. We always have a gas fire pit area for our family which gives us 3 hours to enjoy the brews, food and walking the dogs and grandson around the property. The food was as good as always and Josh, our several time server was still there and may have remembered us. It was fun to enjoy aps to watch the UT game, great job Horns!! and the US vs. England World Cup game. What more could a family ask. The place really got busy and Josh seemed stretched out but we will definitely be back. Love you guys!

Very nice place to visit with plenty of parking. The inside is very clean and well laid out with lots of seating. The outside is so inviting whether under the porch or out in the grass. They have a good selection of drinks to choose from and the service is great.

Lost Barrel Brewing is amazing! Came here with my husband to enjoy an evening of brews and views and it did not disappoint. The location is on a sprawling horse farm and provides plenty of space to relax outdoors by a fire pit or picnic table or inside near the bar or couches by the fireplace. The beer selection is fantastic. They also offer slushies, wine, some cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks; so anyone should be satisfied by the selection. We enjoyed the dark beer options and brought home a mixed 6-pack to try other varieties. My dogs even liked the cookies. Thanks for a great experience. We will be back!

My best friend had her informal East Coast family wedding reception here and we were able to spend the late afternoon/evening at this lovely place. I'm not going to lie, there were some issues, minor and fairly major. It was her experience, so I don't want to go into too much detail but they could learn a lot more about hosting large events. If you are planning to have an event here, make sure that your ducks are in a row, so that when problems arise, they don't blame you. We tried quite a few beers, wines and other cocktails, along with sodas. We also had a huge spread of food. The Spinach Feta hummus is outstanding, as well as the chicken tenders. I very much liked the pretzels and that IPA pimento cheese sauce. The Caesar salad looked good but they didn't give us any dressing so no one ate it. There was also a pasta salad that desperately needed salt and flatbreads that were ok. As for beer, most of it was really good but that Toasted Lager... I could drink that all day, every day and be happy. It was really good. We also did a firepit with smores. The firepit they set-up for us was the one farthest away from the private event space (this was one of the problems of the night.) and the set-up was a bit odd but overall, the kids loved it and what more can you ask for than that?

Very good beer. Surprisingly great food! Check out the chicken tenders. Loads of space to spread out on a summer afternoon. It's a bit out there, but sooo worth the trip

I reserved the Saloon for a birthday celebration for 15 friends (but it's quite spacious and would easily fir more). The reservation process was easy and efficient via email. I liked that I was able to bring my own cake. The staff was very friendly! The menu has a lot of variety of foods and the drink menu included everything from beer, hard seltzers, wines, etc. I liked that it has a diverse menu for my non drinking friends. The ambiance was family friendly on the Friday night that we attended. I definitely Olán to return again and highly recommend this brewery! Quality drinks and food with great staff. Five stars without a doubt!

We were on a surprise trip to Middleburg and this was a recommended stop because it's dog friendly and it really did not disappoint! There were plenty tables outside and inside and the QR codes made it super easy to order food when sitting outside! Really loved the whole concept of this place and the food was delicious too, we got pork nachos and the hush puppies!

I absolutely loved this place. We came on a nice warm day and sat outside, which their patio/outdoor space is amazing with fire pits and giant tables. 1. Drinks/beer: good I wanted to be adventurous and tried their BEER-MOSA. It is great. I loved it. I never had beermosa before, only mimosa. Very refreshing especially on that warm day it was great. 2. Food: okay They are that great but I love they have food options to begin with. 3. Service: You order and pick up yourself, no table service. Straightforward and efficient. 4. Ambience: like a lodge and cabin in the woods feel, rather classy and welcoming.

First, a shoutout to our wine server, Hannah, who was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wines without ever making us feel like we needed a sommelier certification to enjoy them. She guided us through the $20 tasting, which included a wonderful mix of whites and reds. It worked out perfectly because I'm a white wine fan while my husband prefers reds, so naturally we shared every pour and declared ourselves a two-person tasting committee. Now let's talk about the food. The truffle popcorn should probably come with a warning label because it is highly addictive. We kept saying "just one more handful" until the bowl mysteriously emptied itself. The fresh baguette with pimento dip was equally delicious and paired beautifully with the wines. The winery offers plenty of seating options, whether you prefer lounging on the grass, relaxing indoors, or enjoying the covered patio. We chose the covered patio, which provided the perfect balance of fresh air, vineyard views, and shade. And yes, I'm actually going to mention the bathrooms. They were some of the nicest winery restrooms I've encountered--modern, spotless, stylish, and clearly well-maintained. It's one of those little details that says a lot about the overall experience. Great wine, delicious food, beautiful setting, immaculate facilities, and outstanding service from Hannah. Greenhill Vineyards has earned every one of these five stars. We'll definitely be back for another "research trip" in the near future.

We came here first before heading to brunch and a second winery, and honestly, it set the tone for the entire day. The grounds are absolutely beautiful--peaceful, scenic, and everything you want when you're trying to escape the city for a bit. The wine selection is solid, and everything we tried was smooth, well-balanced, and easy to enjoy with friends. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax, take your time, and be present. What I love most about Greenhill is the vibe--it feels elevated without being pretentious. Just good wine, great views, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. If you're planning a Middleburg wine day, start here. You won't regret it.

I've been going to breweries in Northern Virginia for over 14 years now and have seen a ton come and go. From Ocelot, to Old Ox, from Adroit Theory to Aslin, Solace, Honor, Route 7, Wheatland Springs, Dominion, Caboose, Crooked Run, Bluemont, Dirt Farm and probably some more. Bottom line - Lark is your average family get together venue, it rivals with Vanish, Dirt Farm and Bear Chase. Tons of room for the fam to run around and play, however - very limited parking space for the amount of seating areas. The service was okay, as someone who has served Beer and Wine for almost 3 years, I totally understand. However the staff was pretty hard to work with. They would stand behind the counter, they don't make eye contact and they don't ask who's next or really know how to engage the customer. They don't seem to be interested in their own beer. At one point there were 7 employees behind the counter while there were 3 -5 people in line. They should have teamed up and taken care of all 3 - 5 people at once. Pro tip: one person can serve multiple people, you don't need 7 people behind the bar. Get them working, you have waaaaay too many employees and barely any of them know what IBU means. For the beer, if you're a person who uses Untappd, I gave the brewery a 3/5. The beers were okay and probably need a lot more time for research. Why is a pilsner extra hoppy? But if you're really looking for a great venue with amazing service and amazing beer? Annnnnd family time? Hit up Wheatland Springs and you will not be disappointed Save yourself some time and money and just go to Ocelot for good beer and for beer and the family go to Wheatland Springs Lark is fairly new to the game but they're pulling the venue vibe card. Tables are reserved for 2.5 hours, so I assume the party before us didn't use their full time. We ordered an appetizer and a bottle of wine. The brie cake was delicious--even for someone who doesn't usually like goat cheese (it was layered in)--but unfortunately, no one in our group enjoyed the cheesecake. The winery is both dog- and kid-friendly. All the parents we encountered kept their children supervised, which is a winery rule and one I really appreciate now that we have kids ourselves. Most of the dogs were also very well behaved, though one was repeatedly growling at passing dogs, which was off-putting. While the winery can't control every patron, we choose to leave our dog at home when she's not in a social mood, and it would be nice if all dog owners did the same.

Not a single table was available. Instead, there were rows of empty tables with RESERVED signs on them, apparently reserved for ghosts, because no one sat at them for 2+ hours. Meanwhile, groups of people, including us, circled the patio like vultures waiting for a table to finally open. The oyster pop-up bar had a line wrapping around the patio like people were waiting for Taylor Swift concert tickets instead of shellfish. There are small campfire setups around the outside area. But in 69°F full sun with a gentle breeze, you'd think no one would use them. Wrong. The whole side patio and hill area turned into a smoky campsite, with diners getting smoked out and leaving. On top of that, we had to fend off a rotating cast of unattended children. Kids wandered around like they were in an unsupervised theme park. One repeatedly tried sticking their hands in our dog's face while she was calmly chewing on a bone outside like a civilized creature. We ended up disciplining other people's children just so our dog could exist without being harassed. Food (4/5): We ordered the Nduja Sausage and Ricotta Pizza ($26), a red sangria pitcher ($40), a red sangria glass ($12), and the s'mores cookie tray ($10 for 3 cookies). The pizza was delicious, but the crust was so thin and flimsy it needed structural reinforcement. I used part of the previous slice to smear the ricotta around to get a balanced bite each time. The sangria was great, but $40 for 4 1/3 full glasses of wine felt disappointing. It's sangria, not liquid gold. The cookies were good, but for $10, 3 cookies should at least come with hot cocoa. Service (4/5): The lines were out the door. That is not the staff's fault. This place is popular, and the food is great. While I waited the 15 minute line to order, I reviewed the menu, dodged tiny children, and stepped away from random dogs on leashes inside the establishment trying to jump on me. It felt like a low-stakes obstacle course. When I got to the counter, I placed my order quickly. The bartender whipped the screen around with such precision and stared me down during the tip prompt like I was making a morally questionable decision. I pressed "No Tip" (listen. I stood in a line, picked up my own order, and bussed my own table) and his face shifted from "happy to help you" to "you have personally wronged me and my ancestors" in seconds. After tapping through 5+ different prompts, he told me to set a timer on my phone for 10 to 15 minutes and go to a different building to pick up my pizza. Finding this second building required me to use my nose like a bloodhound, following the faint scent of pizza through crowds until I finally tracked it down.

But, for the volume of the music to become the focus of the day, you'd best be The Rolling Stones! We may have come out to hear someone play, but most importantly we've visited to share good times with our friends, catch up, and laugh.
