The brewery opens at 12 and they ask that you don't start the trail until about an hour before open. We got there right at 11am and were the only ones on the trail! It took us just over an hour, was well marked, about 500 feet of net elevation, and had a nice overlook towards the end. Starts and ends right at the brewery. Afterwards I got a beer flight which was delicious and I had many beers to choose from. My favorite was the seasonal pumpkin beer! I didn't get food but saw they have pizza on weekdays and additional food trucks on weekends. My pup had a great time. There were lots of water available and dog bowls if you need them. The views for drinking were immaculate. This is a special brewery and we'll be back for sure!!

There are about 20 beers, seltzers, and some non-alcoholic beers on draught. I enjoyed the Apple Cider Seltzer on tap with 1/2 pour. It's honestly worth paying the extra $2.50 for a full 16 oz pour. Sadly, I made another $8 for a 2nd round of the 1/2 hour. Lesson learned - next time! There's standard bar finger food and pizza - decent, filling, not quite a culinary experience. The Garlic Fingers were okay. The Dirty Crisps were tasty with kettle chips topped with ricotta cheese, prosciutto, pesto, and hot honey. There's also a food truck on site selling Mexican food as well and my friend enjoyed her 3 tacos for $10. Excited to come back for some cider, accompanying bar food, and breathtaking views! While Bluemont gets all of the hype, don't overlook Dirt Farm Brewery!

The space is outstanding with breezy porches, outdoor fire pits, and even walking trails across the back of the property. In winter, the wood stove keeps the inside nice and toasty. The beers are good, and Jay is a skilled brewer, gradually honing his recipes to the brewhouse. (The Miss Hazy has noticably changed and improved over the past few months.) As opposed to some places with 20+ beers ranging from the odd to the excellent to simply undrinkable, Twisted Oak typically has a range of 6-8 brews on, and all of them quite good. Most importantly, the service is outstanding. Jay and Missy (owners) are welcoming, and the part time help are all friendly and it is obvious they genuinely want you to enjoy the beer and the space. Every one I've tried since has been different and I've enjoyed how creative the brewers have gotten in making fruited smoothie beers. From guava to white peach to blood oranges, the favor combinations are always on point. Adroit also has a great selection of IPAs and stouts. I especially love the Dia De Los Muertos dessert stouts. They have different pour sizes so you can try lots of beers and take some cans or growlers home with you. The bartenders I've interacted with have been helpful and knowledgeable about the extensive beer list. The vibe of the tasting room is sparse. You can bring your dog, if they well behaved and since they don't have food, you're welcome to bring your own. They play metal, so if that offends your delicate sensibilities, then I'd suggest that you try elsewhere. They have outdoor seating, though parking can be a little sparse.

Fortunately for all parties, bear chase decided to collaborate with a lot of awesome vendors in the area for a girls night!!! of course the second I saw the postings on Instagram. I bookmarked it and made plans to attend. It happened to be last weekend and around the same time my hubbys brew was back on tap. By this point you already had two growlers that were sitting in my kitchen accumulating dust that greatly needed a refill. So I took my gal, pals and hitched the approximate 1 Hour drive. The girls night was super fun! We had a blast, a great array of vendors from fairy hair to tattoos and even color matching sessions. The vendors were not necessarily the cheapest vendors, but I do have to say that everybody seemed very happy to support and very happy with their purchases. I personally really enjoyed this delicious double chocolate cookie that I bought! The fairy hair vendor is the reason we showed up because we absolutely love Susie and wanted to make sure that we were able to support!! I returned home with two full growlers of my husband's favorite beer and a lot of really great smiles and laughs with two of my best friends at girls night. Time went by really quickly, and somehow we even lost track of time. We showed up before the sunset and left when the sun already was down. Make sure you keep in mind the kitchen hours because by the time that we had finished being in our lines, we went to go order our burgers and found out the kitchen was already closed. :(
