We ate there on 6/12/2026. I had the two meat platter, brisket and pastrami. The brisket was very tender but also very bland. The Carolina sauce is delicious. It goes well with the brisket. The pastrami is fantastic. We'll seasoned, very tender. They make the best pastrami in Northern Virginia. The Mac and Cheese was creamy, tender. It needed a little salt but still very tasty. The collard greens weren't anything special, the were a little bitter. The coleslaw was better last time we were there. It needed some salt and some vinegar. My wife had a loaded baked potato. We stopped at ResQ BBQ for an afternoon appetizer run and enjoyed our time there. The restaurant was pretty slow at that point with one other couple at a table and few gents at the bar so the service was attentive to us as we walked in. Just a couple appetizers for us and we opted for the BBQ chicken quesadilla and the pulled pork nachos. Both were very good and your could tell the BBQ skills were quite good as the meat was very fresh and flavorful. The table had a few different sauces available which was perfect to mix things up and try the various options. The food did take forever to come out especially given the restaurant was not crowded at all. Not sure if regular service would have been quicker but if the place was packed and service was that slow it would be a pretty slow go getting your food. Loved the vibes in the place with a couple games on the television and complete with fire department badges from across the country on the wall. There was a strong first responder theme throughout that certainly gave you a lot to take in while in the restaurant. Would certainly check this place out again if back in the area. read more

My husband and I were looking for a place to eat after shopping at leesburg outlets. He loves bbq so I found this place and saw that it had great reviews. We ordered cheese fries and they were okay but pretty basic cheese fries. However, right when they came out we were swarmed with a bunch of gnats that wouldn't leave us alone. We ordered a meat platter and the appearance of the food was not appetizing at all. We couldn't even finish our food because our appetite went away from the gnats flying all over our food and landing on it. I spent the whole time killing them and swatting them away. My sausage, aside from being room temperature when it arrived, tasted more like grocery store sausage than quality BBQ sausage. The ribs were ok, not terrible but not amazing. The pork needed more salt. The best meat was by far the turkey. As for the sides; the Mac & Cheese was on the bland side, the collards needed twice as much salt and/or bacon fat than they had, not to mention that they were warm not hot upon arrival, and the beans were mediocre. Unnecessarily awkward menu that had to be explained. Draft beer list had bizarre "second" beer options which made little sense. Server struggled to explain that "if the advertised beer is out, then the (second) listed beer took its place." Three or four beers were out, so, you could consider the "second" beer in small print. Made no sense. Then there's the menu. There is a fireman tie-in to the restaurant. The menu is segmented into "one alarm," "two alarm," "three alarm," "four alarm" sections. 90% of the American population would naturally think this is a reference to spiciness but here, the server described the "alarms" as different "vibes." Again, makes zero sense. It took a while to see the menu was just a random assortment of food with no real cohesion or theme. Then there's the table sauces. I was actually pissed about this one. There are 6 or so sauces available to add to your entree. The "hot" sauce is advertised as their hottest. Should be a "4 alarm," right? It was medium at best (I am not a huge spice fan, but I like to sample hot stuff from time to time). The hot sauce was legit insulting. It is American medium. Just a waste of time and a complete disappointment. The family joked that Gordon Ramsay would totally berate and scold the owners of this trainwreck. I had a hankering for holiday BBQ ribs, so ordered delivery using Uber Eats, and was very pleased with the speed of prep and delivery, and the quality of the food. The ribs were moist with a good dry rub. I chose the sweet and mustard sauces which added flavor without overpowering. They offered gluten-free items including an enormous corn muffin and banana pudding dessert. Both were tasty traditional versions. For sides I had potato salad and Cole slaw. Went to hear local musician play and discovered new (to us) barbecue place with a true 'family' feel. Gluten free options, a myriad of different sauces and a wide menu including all the expected ribs, pork, chicken, etc. Ribs were cooked perfectly to fall-off-the-bone tenderness without being over cooked. Good variety on the beer/beverage list too. Service was team style so everyone from the owner to young trainees stopped by our table. In fact, the service really stood out. I never saw anyone not in motion. If they weren't serving, they were cleaning. We were sure that the hostess was a family member, as she literally cleaned floors, adjusted tables that were out of place, etc. A real sense of pride in the workplace. Full disclosure; I picked up the food to-go. I called in ahead and the gentleman was prompt and thorough over the phone. When I got there I gave the guy at the register my named then paid and my food was ready to go right away on a busy Saturday night. The appearance of the place was good. It felt cramped inside but that might have been because there wasn't an open seat in the whole place at 5:30 on a Saturday night. Bar was completely full and all of the tables from what I could see. I ordered the pulled pork platter with Mac and cheese with tots and I also ordered the brisket platter with Mac and cheese with green beans. The meats surprised me. The pulled pork was tender and slightly seasoned which was a change from what I've had in the past. The brisket was extremely tender and cooked well but it was basically shaved - super thin. The sides were nothing crazy in my opinion. Tots are tots. The green beans were cooked a little short for my liking but seasoned very well. The Mac and cheese had a real homemade feel to it - tasted good enough to eat but I couldn't taste the bacon. Major plus...they didn't skimp on the amount of food or serving sizes. The platters are $15+ and they put a ton of food in the containers. My wife and I both couldn't finish our meals...bonus lunch for tomorrow! From what I understand this was like a food truck for years and now a full up restaurant. However, all I can really say about ResQ is that I enjoyed one of the six sauces provided and one side was decent. My son and I shared a two meat platter with ribs and turkey. The ribs were mostly fat. The turkey was so dry it literally crumbled. We got the smoked Mac and cheese with bacon for one side. It had no smoked flavor and there was zero bacon to be found. It was basically mushy macaroni noodles with some kind of bland cheese. Literally NO flavor. My son loves Caesar salad so that was our second side. It was a large portion and very fresh. It was probably the best part of our meal, which is disappointing at a BBQ restaurant... The service was meh. Our server was kind but never came to check on us after our food was delivered and everyone's drinks had run dry halfway through their meal. The brisket had a great depth of flavor, and the pastrami was meltingly sublime. There are eight different sauces to choose from. This review is based on several visits. Overall this is a solid barbecue place. I absolutely enjoy the loaded nachos and I think it's a bargain for what you get. I really like the assortment of sauces which spans the gamut from sweet to hot and spicy. They have a great selection of alcohol and the service has always been good. I'm giving my recent trip to their new storefront a 2 because that's the lowest I go when reviewing takeout food. Also, I've eaten ResQ BBQ in the past at the soccer field complex several times and from their smoker trailer at various places in Loudoun and never had any bad food those times. The new storefront just opened a week ago so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk this one up to working the kinks out. Still, it was a big bummer to be so excited for them to be open and then get the quality of food we did. We will try them again in a few weeks and hope things improve. What we got: -beef brisket sandwich -bbq quesadilla w/ chicken -loaded bbq baked potato w/ pulled pork -smoked wings My wife's first bite of the brisket sandwich was a big fail as it was just a glob of fat that she then spat out in a napkin. She took the bun top off and spent a good 5 minutes picking out the meat from the fat. Some fat is fine and expected to get that good flavor, but I sure do wish I'd taken a photo of the pile of fat she had. She barely ended up with enough meat to make a sandwich but she said the brisket was as tasty as always. The sandwich comes with coleslaw + 1 side. She said their coleslaw was bland and just like eating a pile of wet cabbage this time. Ouch. Her other side was her favorite, mac & cheese, and she said it was as amazing as always. I had the loaded bbq baked potato with pulled pork and had no complaints. The pork was tasty and moist. Great flavor. I also had the smoked wings. I discovered smoked wings at Roots 657 and they have become my new favorite over traditional wings so I was excited to see them on the menu at ResQ. They advertise these as jumbo wings and oh yeah they are! If only they hadn't been like eating shoe leather. Nothing like the moist, juicy wings at Roots. I ended up picking at them and tossing the rest. *sobs* They came with the usual celery sticks and also some carrot sticks. Both looked as if they'd been prepped for days (white dried out look to the carrots and brown ends on the celery). The bbq chicken quesadilla is my kid's favorite thing but the one we ordered on this night was terrible. I gave it a try when he said he wasn't going to eat it, and no wonder. Again, the chicken was dry, hard, and leathery. There was zero flavor the meat was so dried out. We thought he was playing with his food but he was just trying to chew the chicken, it was that bad. Also, it hardly had any chicken in it. The chicken was concentrated in the middle and probably made up of 2-3 TBS tops. There was also no guac like was supposed to be included but we chalked that up to the avocado shortage. If this was my first time eating food from ResQ, it would be my last. Thankfully I know what they're capable of and they food they've served in the past. I look forward to trying them again in a few weeks and hopefully getting better food. My wife and I moved to the Leesburg area in December of 2023. After we settled in we were looking for a great local place to find good food and good drinks. ResQ BBQ delivered in every way. The bbq is top notch, the sauces are amazing and all of the sides compliment the wide variety of bbq choices very well. The bartenders make incredible cocktails, and the restaurant features a WIDE variety of excellent bourbons. It's apparent that the owners put their heart and soul into this place. My wife and I have been back here over and over again, and we plan to continue to do so! I cannot recommend this place enough. read more
