Turkey bacon egg multigrain toast

Great food and great prices! The line flowed smoothly. Quick service with spacious seating. Only downside was too loud. Great selection of coffee and teas to pick from. Will try the drinks next time as I just had coffee.

Service is wonderful and the location is great. There is a parking lot and street parking. The space is large and inviting with a lot of character. I've only had their white chocolate matcha and a crumb cake. The crumb cake was so tasty but the matcha had little matcha or white chocolate taste. For me it was a little watered down in comparison to other cafes I've recently tried but the pricing is also a lot better than the other places as well. I would definitely try them again if I am ever in the area!

Breakfast Tacos

I stopped by this Halo Roaster for a quick lunch and meet up with a friend. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, offering plentiful of space sitting space to catch up with friends, study, or catch up on some much needed work. The music was a tad loud, which could be slightly distracting if studying so bring ear cancelling headphones if one needs less noise. Also lots of parking in the rear! The service was friendly and I was suggested the hibiscus lemonade since I'm not much of a coffee drinker. My friend got an espresso. Since I was feeling a hungry I order myself the breakfast taco with a side of tater tots. The breakfast taco could've been a little more seasoned and came out on the colder side but I was hungry so still ate it 5.5/10. The taters were tasty and had the perfect crunch 6.5/10

Honey Bee Latte
Cat C.

One of my favorite coffee spots in NJ! Their food and lattes both are consistently delicious. I usually order the honey bee latte with oat milk, and for food I love the Bell panini or the breakfast tacos. Service is always friendly and quick! There's plenty of spots to sit and work, chat, and enjoy your treats. Such a cozy atmosphere inside! I'll always recommend this place to anyone in the area.

You place your order at counter. We had the halo toast n the cure. The cute had eggs bacon sausage hash brown n cheese w chipotle mayo on sourdough. Tasted really good n generous portions. The halo toast had smashed avocado goat cheese cherry tomatoes n balsamic dressing on sourdough. Hmm was v healthy n tasted good. Tx u for a great breakfast/ brunch. Will be back again when im area

Cozy cafe with excellent food options and plenty of drink choices! Service was fast and reasonable with decent seating. The halo breakfast wrap was extremely hearty and filling whereas the tacos were so full and delicious! The tots were a bit too crunchy but the drinks were a good round out. Overall would def come back (and already have)!

Golden Mocha & Matcha
Barbara S.

We ordered an Iced Golden Mocha Latte and (allegedly) the White Chocolate Matcha, though it tasted more like the Honey Bee Latte. Both were delicious! We also had the breakfast tacos (no meat) and the pierogies. Both dishes tasted very wholesome, though my husband's only complaint was a lack of seasoning. Service was great, but the vibes were my favorite part: super quaint and hipster with assorted art everywhere

Waldorf Chicken Salad
Taylor K.

I thought this place would be better than it was sadly. I got the white chocolate matcha (iced) and the chicken salad sandwich (add avo). Both were super expensive and they were out of croissants (what it usually comes on) so they put on their sourdough but the bread was not a move at all and it fell short. I felt like there was no chicken in the chicken salad either - it was all grapes & walnuts it seems. It also really lacked flavor. I really wish I loved it but it just seemed to fall short in like every category. The overall ambiance was a vibe - major WFH coffee shop Brooklyn feel which was nice and the service was fine. Probably just wouldn't go back since there are so many sammies that are better for cheaper in the area. This is probably better to work remote from and grab a latte while you work.

Rose Chai - 16 oz

I needed a place to work and wanted to support a local business so I stopped here on a whim. Plenty of outlets and seating. There was a free parking lot in the back and a back door entrance for easy access. I really enjoyed the rose chai latte with almond milk. It had just the right amount of sweetness and got me excited to try other drinks on the menu. I also had a croissant with cream cheese and honestly I should've left off the cream cheese because the croissant was perfect by itself. I originally wanted a bagel, but they ran out. There were some tasty looking pastries as well. The drink and food were brought over to my table. I didn't have to wait long even though it got pretty busy. My only thing is, I wish some coffee shops would lower the background music just a bit. Otherwise, can't wait to return.

My go to when I'm in the Milburn area on the weekends. It's quite chill here with people doing their own thing; working, chatting. The staff is also chill, not too bubbly. There's different seating arrangements so you can find the right spot for your needs. You can pull into the parking lot and head through the front or the back. I always get the dirty chai for here. I missed getting served in proper porcelain ever since the pandemic; it just feels proper than drinking from a paper cup. The coffee cake is big, sugary , messy but so good. And they have tater tots!

Brynne brulee
Zac G.

A fun and funky coffee shop full of plants and bright colors, Halo Roasters' appeal extends beyond its ambiance. The menu offers quite a bit of variety. Regular selections include basic coffees, espresso drinks, chai drinks, and teas (as well as sandwiches, bowls, and breakfast foods) plus a dozen or so seasonal drinks. My wife and I went with a lavender latte and a Brynne brulee (with caramel and brown sugar), respectively, and we were not disappointed. Drinks were served up fairly quickly, and they were smooth and invigorating. The next time I'm up north, I will definitely keep Halo Roasters in mind.

Veggie Wrap (breakfast wrap)

I love coming here whenever I'm in the area. I can't help but grab a coffee and something to eat. I love the honeybee latte! I have ordered the quinoa breakfast bowl - pretty good, personally I think too many potatoes and they're not roasted, more like boiled so not as pleasant to eat The harvest bowl is good! The classic tuna melt is good, not my absolutely favorite but good. I'll definitely be back!!

Oat milk latte
Katarina L.

Stopped here for a quick meeting and couldn't believe this little gem! The inside is cool, spacious, and filled with tables and plants and colors. Plenty of seating inside and outside if you are looking for a place to grab a table and get some work done, meet with a friend etc. I got my usual oat milk latte and enjoyed it outside. It was a hottttt day (hello summer!) but I am always one for a sidewalk patio. For $6+ it was pricey and not very big, but that's the cost of tasty, strong coffee these days. I'm not often in the area but need to make a return visit for some food. The menu looked amazing, and so many other reviews mention their great brunchy bites. Another great cafe find!

Finally got to experience this place after hearing of it for more than 2+ years! I've heard at…read moretimes this Coffee spot can be pretty packed, so I feel like I came on a really good day. First off: Service. I told the employee that this was my first time there, and they were more-than-happy to help me make a decision for my order. Patient and walked me through. Second: The Food. Let's get into it. 1) Cassava Latte ($7.50) - I was so pleasantly suprised at this drink; described as "(i)nspired by the Filipino dessert cake, made with condensed milk and coconut." The first sip, and I was intrigued! It was perfectly sweet, and the perfect mix of that coconut-dessert taste that cassava typically delivers! It tasted genuine, if that's possible. 2) Sinigang Croquette ($5.00) - This was interesting. Described as "Pork and Gabi (taro) shaped into a patty, rolled in Japanese bread crumbs, and deep fried. Served with our in-house sawsawan (dipping sauce)", it hit all the right notes. To be honest? $5.00 for 1 felt a bit steep. I'd pay $7.50 for two, though! 3) Boy Bawang Shio Pan ($7.50) - This was the most curious of all my purchases. Described as an "(i)n-house salt bread rolled in garlic and corn crumbs, filled with roasted garlic butter, topped with corn cheese whip. Inspired by the popular Filipino snack: Boy Bawang. THIS ITEM I SING ITS PRAISES. I am an absolute lover of the Boy Bawang Garlic Flavor Corn Snack --- much more pungent than anything Corn Nuts could ever offer. This Shio Pan absolutely delivered with its roasted garlic flavor! And as soon as you take a few bites ---- you get hit with that roasted garlic butter --- and let me tell you, they are not shy about their filling! Absolute master class --- but it's only for a limited run. You should definitely try! Third: Ambiance - The Cafe is quaint --- and has a seating area that could maybe fit between 18-24 people? It's just along the side of the business, but I managed to get a table for myself. Ayala, you did not disappoint! Can't wait to try your Sisig Flatbread for the next round!

I had the sisig flatbread and the pork croquette. The sisig flatbread had very unique and complex flavors. I thought it was very creative. The croquette was fresh and tasty, but it was truly the sauce that came with it that was the star of the show. It bold and vinegary and tasted great with the sisig flat bread as well. I tried a bit of my friend's pandan waffle and it was quite tasty! I could really taste the pandan. Now the bad. The ube latte was mediocre. I asked for mine with matcha, but I really couldn't even taste the matcha. I think next time I might try their other drinks to see if there is a difference. However, I was really expecting better. Overall: I'd say the food is better than the drinks, which is a bit of a disappointment because I was hoping for both to be out of this world. The service was good and the staff was very kind. I also enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant as well.

This has been my go-to coffee shop every weekend for the last couple of years. To put it simply,…read moretheir coffee is fantastic. Specifically, their cold brew which is extremely smooth and strong, and in my opinion you don't even need to put anything in it unless you really want something sweet, although why would you get a cold brew if that's the case lol. Also packs quite a bit of caffeine so you'll be good for the rest of the day. Their pastries are pretty solid as well, although a bit on the pricier side. The cafe itself is on the smaller side but still an ample amount of seating. It's excellent for meeting with a friend, however the tables are rather small so it is less study friendly unless you manage to snag one of the bigger tables by the entrance. Which is admittedly pretty tough to do unless you get here right when it opens or catch a lucky break when someone leaves - I speak from experience. That said, it's overall a pretty solid spot to get work done. Parking in downtown Summit is a pain in general, I usually just park in the lot and walk over. Limit is at 5 hours and you will have to walk back if you want to extend it. There might be parking available by the cafe, but I'm personally less confident on how long you can to stay before getting ticketed/booted, so do so at your own risk.

Tried this coffee spot twice. The first time, the staff wasn't very warm or helpful. When I asked…read morefor recommendations, I was just told to check the menu. I ordered the coconut coffee which was okay, just a bit too sweet for my taste. The second time around, I looked over the menu ahead of time and tried a matcha. It was decent, but again a little sweeter than I personally prefer.

Anyway, since then I've been back 3 more times; once for breakfast and twice for brunch. And while I'm confessing, the two times for lunch were on subsequent days. Yeah, they're that good. Actually, their chicken salad on a croissant is the best I've ever had and in my advanced years I've had a crapload of chicken salad. The have a nice sized coffee bar, decorated beautifully with some pretty delicious looking pastries. I'm on an anti-sweet phase so I'm basing my opinion on only on appearance. Then there's a seating area when you can eat, served by a friendly attentive staff and an adjacent boutique area where you can purchase housewares, clothing and other cool stuff. I'm not in Maplewood all that often, generally when I'm shopping at the equally awesome City Workshop but when I do, I always make sure to hit up Perch. Both of these were served at the perfect temperature, were richly creamy, and served in large mugs. I also ordered a Carrot Cake Muffin and it was very good. It was moist, each forkful had a decent amount of walnuts, and the frosting was exquisite. Once you're finished with your food, don't forget to stroll through the entire cafe. You'll probably find something that will pique your interest. Either way, try to make time to enjoy it all.

Over the years, I had always been happy with the quality of the products they sell, but lately the pricing has gotten completely out of hand. We were there this past Saturday for breakfast. We shared a shakshuka and had two mocha coffees in the table area, and my wife also ordered a salmon toast. That was it. Somehow, this breakfast cost as much as four meals we had at an Israeli restaurant in NYC the very next day -- and, by the way, those meals were far superior to anything I've ever had at Liv. While at the NYC restaurant, we noticed they charge only $7 for fresh-squeezed orange juice -- in a larger portion than Liv's $12 glass of OJ. Their shakshuka is also only $16, compared with Liv's $22. And this place is in the heart of NYC, not in suburbia New Jersey. I also used to love getting Liv's cookies and croutons, but those have become expensive beyond reason as well. Two packs of cookies, one crouton, and a mocha coffee came to over $50. Seriously? At this point, it is clear to me that the owner's strategy is to keep raising prices to see how much he can get away with. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I'm done. I will no longer be patronizing this kind of price gouging.

Fueling Up on Springfield Ave…read more Stopped by Gregorys Coffee - Summit on Springfield Ave in downtown Summit with a friend on a Sunday evening for a quick grab-and-go coffee. We came right before closing, and even while they were winding down, the space felt clean, cozy, and welcoming. I ordered a small vanilla protein cold brew ($8) through the InKind app for easy pickup -- it hit the spot. It wasn't busy when we stopped in, but being right downtown, I can easily see this being a popular stop during peak hours. It's a great place for fueling up before hitting the local shops -- or recharging after. There are tables, chairs, and outlets available if you're planning to stay and get some work done, though we were just grabbing and going. We lucked out with street parking, but I imagine it depends on timing. Friendly staff, smooth ordering, and a cozy vibe. It's on the pricier side, but I'd still come back for another fuel-up.
