If you're looking for a true "greasy spoon" diner. Don't look any further. Handmade, large portions that were absolutely just like what I grew up with. Food is amazing here. Cheap, made to order, good ingredients, and served hot and quick! Sunday breakfast is busy, especially the after church crowd. The chubie burger with bacon and cheese is amazing and so is the "trash can" skillet. Open 24 hours is also a huge bonus. read more

We sat in a booth in the loud, obnoxious, chaotic dining room, but it's everything I have ever wanted in a hometown Restaurant! We love that the regulars called a crossed the restaurant for their waitress by name! We shared a menu and ordered, the food arrived within 10 minutes.. I was, however, a little bit upset because there was a misunderstanding when we ordered, and when we asked for it to be corrected, it was.. But not until everyone else finished their food.. The waitress got a bit busy and since we are newbies we hesitated to start yelling for our waitress as everyone else did ..'then we were charged for the original item, even though we didn't eat any of it.. I paid politely because we were in a rush and didn't have time to dispute it.. Overall, I will be back! We really like the place, and the food was great!! 4 stars this time read more

Hallmark use to be the place to go until recently. My family and I had always had a wonderful experience there great food, good service. Then new management happen! Portion sizes are just that portioned - yet prices remained the same. VERY disappointed as staff was, too and had many complaints for it. Okay, so this our first official breakfast here in the city we just moved... I'm looking forward to something great... the waitress seemed like she hated life.. we order and I get my scrambled eggs... they are runny and watery and one side of them was burnt.. great.. my man orders potatoes with NO peppers and onions... she brings him out his food with his side of potatoes with peppers and onions... we tell her, she was ales it back and brings out everything else and says she will get his potatoes to him ASAP. So then we are done eating and the potatoes come out. She proceeds to say, well at least you got them... I don't really know what else to tell you... WTF!!! Who taught you customer service!! In town on business and came here for breakfast. The atmosphere is great and the wait staff has a blast. You can tell they enjoy working here...it's the local diner version of Cheer's! People walk in and the staff is already delivering them drinks and asking if they want the usual. The food is great. I ordered the meat overs omelette with home fries. The omelette is huge; I could only eat half! The home fries are great sliced potatoes, fried on the griddle. Next time, I'll add some onions just for kicks! Overall a great experience. Well above average diner! Check the " specials" for that day, generally left on the table on a sheet of printed paper. I almost always have the steak and eggs special they have for that day. This day it was a N.Y. Strip steak and eggs with choice of potatoes or grits and toast or biscuits all for $5,95! Can't beat the price, service, or price!! read more

Wow. I was lead to believe that this place was an icon on Killeen. Wrong! I knew we had a problem from the beginning when the booth was broken and the seat would fall off if I moved. The food was bland and beyond greasy, and the waitress interrupted our meal to bring another patron over to ask if we could help him with his cell phone game app, and wanted us to do it before we were through eating. I am sure she didn't mean any harm but it was rude. The onion rings were over cooked. The chili cheese burger was bland and the catfish was undercooked and clumpy. We asked the cashier about things and she said the original owners had sold the business to another family, so it really isn't a Henderson's business anymore. Wasn't too bad. very slow service but the food wasn't bad... i went only for the Fried mushrooms. they had none in the store that day :( so i got fried pickles they were WAY over battered. not good, too crispy. there burgers were great. coffee seemed a little burnt but i sent it back and they came back with it much better. i went another time and took my 2 year old. i got him a pizza THEY FORGOT IT! i got my food and he got nothing.... that poor baby sat there with nothing. i fed him mine so he would stop being so upset..... after 45 min! we all were done and he STILL had no pizza!!! i told them pack it up take it off my bill im out of here! and they did.!!! read more

Went there with my family for a midday meal. It was approximately 11:00 and the place was pretty busy already. Admittedly when we walked in I was none too excited because of the condition and age of the place. We sat ourselves at a booth that needed to be clear which the waitress did within seconds of us arriving at it. Once we sat down to order, starting with drinks, I noticed there were no menus. I asked if we could have some to look at and was told we'd have to wait until some other customers were done with them. So wait we did.....for about 15 minutes. In that time we weren't attended to at all. Once we got the menus and we were ready to order it was a bit longer than I'd like to wait for our waitress to come back around. My wife ordered from the breakfast menu, which was not well put together. She enjoyed her pancakes and whatnot. I ordered the Texas sized chicken fried steak. It came with a salad but after waiting 10 minutes I had to remind the waitress, I know that doesn't seem like much time but after watching other salads come out it was apparent she forgot, it was busy in there. My meals portions were indeed "Texas sized" and the food I would rate 6/10. It was truck stop diner quality food. Prices were fair, service was distracted, and if you're squeamish about cleanliness then do stay away. I saw waitress, all waitresses, handling food with bare hands, food fall to the counter and be placed back on the plate, incredibly messy prep space..... It's a cheap restaurant that senior citizens like to be regulars at. read more

Today I purchased to go two country skillets and a order of pecan waffles. Skillets were listed $6.95 but I was charged $ 9.55 each and waffles listed $4.95 but I was charged $6.99. When I asked the cashier about it she said the online menu has not been updated. I felt like telling them to stick it.I feel I was miss lead and ripped off. I will not be back. First time here, and was hopeful that this place would be as good as I have heard. My family and I went for the catfish in particular. Inside wasn't anything special, just looked like a older set up. Our waitress (can't remember her name) was very friendly and joked around with us. Menu was simple. We were told that we couldn't make any substitutions. I thought that was kind of strange, being that u are paying for the food, so u should like what u order. Bathroom was only one stall, and it looked like the door had been kicked in at some point. Our food came out in a timely manner. Kids plates were simple and good. The catfish was alright, I have had better. I did not like the baked potato, seemed undercooked. The side of okra we ordered was over cooked. Didn't bother with dessert, as it wasn't made in house. Over heard the waitress telling that to another table. I was thinking this was a home cooked meal, everything made from scratch, good quality food type of place. I was wrong! Not to mention, for 2 adults and 2 kids, our bill was over $50! Not including a tip. I could've went down the street, and had an awesome meal, dessert, and maybe a drink or two for that kind of price. I have no idea where they get their pricing from, but it is soooo not worth it. Unfortunately we will not be back, nor would I recommend them. Don't eat here! Takes forever to get your food and it's cold! The food was good but the service that I received wasn't good. I came here for breakfast for the first time. Was told to sit anywhere I wanted. That was great. When I sat down I was greeted by a waitress and she took our beverage order and our food order right after she got our drinks. Which was good. she then had a. Lot of " regulars walk in" to which she greeted and chat with. When our Oder came she forgot some of the pieces of our meal ( bacon, toast for all of our food order). I then told her about the bacon and toast. She said she will be right out with it. She then went to the back and only returned with the bacon. Didn't bring our toast ( that we paid for). Then I asked her for condiment such as ketchup she said ok. And when to chat with her "regulars" ignoring our request. And bought them there condiments . I had to ask again. She then bought the ketchup over and place it on the table ( I felt she place it down hard and rude). I felt like I was interrupting her chat with the regular customer. I never asked her for the missing parts of the meal that I paid for ( all the toast for all 3 meals that I ordered) because I felt like I was bothering her and she was starting to give me attitude.
