Our choir (party of 9) stopped here for lunch on the way to a festival in Columbus. The food and the service was great! The honey lavender latte was delicious, even with skimmed milk, and the goetta hash was quite tasty. Hubby enjoyed the strawberry French toast. Others in our party had a chicken quesadilla, the Thai wrap, various salads and sandwiches. The quality of the food was excellent and I appreciate their use of local ingredients. This locally owned place is definitely a gem in the world of corporate chain restaurants!

Basic omelet with spinach and goat cheese

Excellent food and service. I ordered the basic omelet with spinach and goat cheese. It was excellent. Little Mister ordered a meal plus a chocolate muffin. The muffin came out before his meal and he devoured it. It was basically like having chocolate cake for breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed. I love the fresh flowers on all the tables.

Blueberry Lemon Stuffed French Toast

Cute little breakfast/lunch spot in Mason. Came here on a Sunday around 10 and got a table in 15 min or so. They have a sizable menu with some yummy breakfast classics and a few unique dishes. We got the huevos divorciados and Lemon blueberry ricotta French toast. Both were well prepared and portions were large. Overall, no complaints and a quaint spot for breakfast or lunch!

Was on the prowl for a new breakfast spot to try my recent trip to nati. They just released their fall specials but had my heart in finding great b&g. They offer it as a side, and 2 biscuits and a cup of gravy is very reasonable. Certainly enough to fill my belly and have room for a Hurtz old fashioned donut. Very service minded staff and my server had an infectious smile. Dining room was busy and well kept. Will certainly revisit next trip home.

Vegan Hash

Amazing locally owned breakfast spot that you have to seek out when you are in the area. Vegan hash was outstanding and filling. Great coffee. Can sit inside or outside. Staff that makes you feel like family. Sweet and savory options for everyone. What else do you want to know?

Enjoyed a wonderful Sunday brunch here with my husband and son. The menu has lots to choose from and features some seasonal additions. The restaurant is casual but nice and it is not overly loud even when it is packed. My husband is a coffee snob and after one sip of his coffee said, "we can definitely come here again!" It was obvious that they take pride in their business and use fresh, quality ingredients in their food and drinks. The breakfast scramble and rosemary potatoes were delicious and fresh tasting. The mango butter rum French toast and chocolate chip pancakes were a delight. The iced tea is wonderful and made fresh daily, the coffee is delicious. I highly recommend giving Half Day Cafe a try!

Applewood Smoked Bacon

I visited Half Day Cafe for a birthday breakfast, and was left pretty underwhelmed. The food was disappointing, as the labeled "large Applewood Smoked Bacon" was smaller than the average piece of bacon you'd find, at a hefty price of $5. The pancakes were okay, but none of the blueberries were burst/melted. The pancake was tough and hard to chew. the service was nice, but very frustrating. I asked two times for a refill on water and waited 15 minutes to finally receive it, after he had already refilled coffee on the table three times. The restaurant was incredibly busy though, and we waited 30 minutes for a table, so I give the servers some slack. The tables are also pretty close together, and the atmosphere is very loud. Probably won't be coming here again.

Solid breakfast choice. Basic breakfast done well. I miss the one in Wyoming but this one is definitely worth the drive to Mason. They were super nice and patient with our large group.

Fruit, white cheddar grits and turkey sausage.

I came here after seeing a post about these delicious looking grits, and I have had them in South Carolina. These were salty and had a weird texture to me. The fruit and coffee were good. I also ordered turkey sausage. It was cooked much softer than I like. Overall, disappointed and I will not be returning. For what I got, I spent $14. Service was perfect though.

Delicious food and friendly service. Very clean and welcoming. Some unique Cincy menu items too. We'll be back with our family of 5.

Food is poor. Cooks do not know how to cook eggs to order. Servers cannot answer questions. This place should shut down

Is it named half day cafe because it takes a half a day to get your food? Slow service, horrible food equals never again.

Okay, biscuit lovers, I just had a religious experience at Maple Street Biscuit Company in…read moreColumbus, Ohio, and I need to tell you about it. From the moment I walked in, I knew this wasn't your average breakfast joint. Their {unique-feature} - let's call it the palpable sense of genuine Southern hospitality mixed with a modern, quirky vibe - immediately sets the stage. It's like your cool grandma's kitchen, but with better coffee (more on that later!). But let's talk about the star of the show: the Biscuits n' Gravy. Oh. My. Goodness. Forget everything you think you know about this Southern staple. This was next-level comfort food. The biscuit itself was perfectly fluffy on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside, and had that subtle buttermilk tang that just makes your soul sing. And the gravy? Forget the bland, floury stuff you get at some places. This was a country gravy, rich, savory, and clearly made with love. The flavors were so spot-on, so perfectly balanced, that when the manager asked how I was enjoying my meal, I practically gushed about the flavor profile! He proudly explained that they make it fresh, on-site, every single day. Amazing. Seriously, I even asked for more gravy (and I'm not ashamed!). The chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy. The welcoming atmosphere is the real deal. It's not just about saying "hello"; it's about making you feel like you're part of the Maple Street family. It's the kind of place where you instantly relax and feel comfortable lingering over your coffee (which, by the way, they have a whole coffee bar with assorted flavors!). The excellent service just seals the deal. From the friendly cashier to the attentive staff refilling my coffee, everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and eager to make my experience a great one. The manager, especially, was incredibly nice and clearly takes pride in his team and the food they're serving. It's clear they've cultivated a positive and supportive work environment, and that translates directly into the customer experience. For the price, Maple Street Biscuit Company is an absolute steal. Whether you're a couple looking for a cozy brunch spot, a family needing a satisfying and affordable meal, or a die-hard food enthusiast searching for the perfect biscuit, this place delivers. Trust me, folks, this isn't just breakfast; it's an experience. Go. Now. You won't regret it.

Maybe it was because it was 11am? Who knows. What I do know is that Pillsbury makes better biscuits. Order at the counter, they bring you your food. Dirty tables. Lots of staff. No real excuse. Save your money and hit up First Watch, Wild Eggs, or even Sleepy Bee (with some trepidation). At least you get table service and servings worthy of the cost. Maybe it was a bad day? Maybe they've only been open a short while? Who knows. We won't be back.

There are tons of different options, the service is friendly and helpful & the vibes are great! The blueberry pancake is huge & the compote on it tastes awesome! The Belgian waffles hold their ground and are the perfect platform for this sandwich; getting the chicken Nashville style is the way to go too if you like a little zip!

There was a bunch of smoked salmon, but it was meh--one of the driest benedicts I've ever had. Coffee was good. Twice I tried to get a waitress's attention (once she looked directly at me and walked away). There was no spoon to stir my coffee at the table or in the rolled-up napkin. So I got up to grab one myself. When I grabbed a spoon from the empty server station, I got a dirty look from the waitress as she started approaching me. I told her I needed a spoon, but she ignored me. She then asked me to check the silverware roll. I told you. And she walked away. The orange juice was okay. Did not taste fresh-squeezed; maybe the oranges aren't good. I guess I'll keep going to greasy spoons: better service, better food, better price.
