What I ordered, Mango Butter Rum French Toast

My husband and I decided to try Half Day Cafe this morning. We actually ran into an old friend who loves this place & goes here quite often. Unfortunately we weren't as excited about the place. It's very cute and tables aren't squished together, which I liked. The waitress was very nice and the lady at the register was as well. I ordered the Mango Buttered Rum French toast. The sauce was good, but it was so plain. It would have been great with some mango or some type of fruit and whipped creme maybe? I saw someone with the apple cinnamon French toast and it looked and smelled wonderful! My husband had the sausage gravy biscuits and rosemary potatoes. He said he didn't taste rosemary. But he did enjoy the gravy& biscuits. We may try again at some point and just order something different.

Enjoyed a Saturday morning at half day cafe with friends. Our server was pleasant and welcoming, she was able to offer us suggestions from the menu. The pancakes were huge and they cooked my bacon perfectly. My only complaint is the coffee, it wasn't super hot and seemed a little watered down but that won't stop me from going again.

I got one of the breakfast plates. Potatoes were okay. Hot sauce choices chalulolo and tobacco, both definitely needed .. Orange juice was good. Maybe I need to try other stuff in the menu. But I feel there are better choices in the area.

They really have something for everyone! I've not disliked any dishes I've tried. Bowl O' Goodness is my all time fave. This time around, I went with a more traditional breakfast meal, which delicious. I love that they split and grilled the biscuits for the biscuits and gravy - such a great textural twist. Service was with a smile, as always. And it was consistently busy, but the wait for a table was only about 15 min, which was perfect for looking at the menu ahead of time. The seating is pretty nicely spaced, so it is still quite comfortable even when they are super busy. Great for families with or without kiddos. Well lit and average noise level.

Half day cafe is a family owned business. The service was excellent. The waiter made great recommendations on what to get. I followed his advice and got the carnitas burrito. The carnitas were not greasy and it was delicious. My husband got the breakfast combo. We both agreed that they could have been a little more generous with their diced potatoes. The food was excellent and the service was great. We will be back.

Fig, Gouda, Bacon Sandwich on gluten free bread with a side of tortilla chips. It was delicious!

We met friends for lunch and stopped at Half Day Cafe. It was a nice lunch. The tables are placed nicely and everything is very open, it's a very nice brunch spot. We sat at a table with 5 people and even with it being busy you could still have a great conversation. The place had a very cozy and open atmosphere. I had a Caramel Macchiato Latte with Almond while waiting for others to join me. The server was very friendly and helpful. She suggested great meals to eat and luckily one of the ones she suggested is what I had- Fig, Gouda, Bacon sandwich. I also substituted the bread for gluten free bread.

Our choir (party of 9) stopped here for lunch on the way to a festival in Columbus. The food and the service was great! The honey lavender latte was delicious, even with skimmed milk, and the goetta hash was quite tasty. Hubby enjoyed the strawberry French toast. Others in our party had a chicken quesadilla, the Thai wrap, various salads and sandwiches. The quality of the food was excellent and I appreciate their use of local ingredients. This locally owned place is definitely a gem in the world of corporate chain restaurants!

Excellent food and service. I ordered the basic omelet with spinach and goat cheese. It was excellent. Little Mister ordered a meal plus a chocolate muffin. The muffin came out before his meal and he devoured it. It was basically like having chocolate cake for breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed. I love the fresh flowers on all the tables.

Cute little breakfast/lunch spot in Mason. Came here on a Sunday around 10 and got a table in 15 min or so. They have a sizable menu with some yummy breakfast classics and a few unique dishes. We got the huevos divorciados and Lemon blueberry ricotta French toast. Both were well prepared and portions were large. Overall, no complaints and a quaint spot for breakfast or lunch!

Was on the prowl for a new breakfast spot to try my recent trip to nati. They just released their fall specials but had my heart in finding great b&g. They offer it as a side, and 2 biscuits and a cup of gravy is very reasonable. Certainly enough to fill my belly and have room for a Hurtz old fashioned donut. Very service minded staff and my server had an infectious smile. Dining room was busy and well kept. Will certainly revisit next trip home.

Vegan Hash

Amazing locally owned breakfast spot that you have to seek out when you are in the area. Vegan hash was outstanding and filling. Great coffee. Can sit inside or outside. Staff that makes you feel like family. Sweet and savory options for everyone. What else do you want to know?

While the hostess staff was very nice, they sat two tables before us even though we were next in line. They apologized for the confusion and all was well. Out water cups were a bit warm so as we went to pour the water into said cups, the ice melted BUT at least we knew the cups weee clean! I ordered the White Lightening Omelet which came with an English Muffin and Peasant potatoes. It was really nice to have a place with an egg white omelet option. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were on point. I would have liked to see the potatoes be a little crispier on the outside but the weee seasoned well The portion size for me was big so i only ate MAYBE half. Cute little place, loved the colors inside, just felt super inviting.I'll definitely be back to try some of their other options!

My husband ordered the soup and shaved Caesar, while I went with the Carbonara. The soup arrived lukewarm, and the shaved Caesar was awkward to eat--shaved romaine simply doesn't cooperate with a fork. The Carbonara was completely uneatable and the biggest disappointment. What arrived at the table looked more like a soupy, broken sauce with noodles swimming underneath and a barely cooked egg collapsing into the bowl than anything resembling Carbonara. The photo says it all: a runny, unsettled mixture that never came together as a cohesive dish. To their credit, the manager removed it from the bill and apologized, explaining that a new chef is still learning the recipes and that the dish should never have been served that way. The issue, of course, is that it was served that way. Cozy's seems to be experimenting with "deconstructed" presentations, but it isn't working. The shaved lettuce Caesar came topped with a deviled egg, and the Carbonara featured that nearly raw egg sitting on top of a watery sauce. Sometimes sticking with what you know is the better choice. Despite this visit, we'll likely return--Cozy's can be charming, and when they get it right, the food can be quite good. But consistency remains their biggest challenge. Next time, I'll ordered the fried chicken!

The coffee was delightful. A little sweeter than I anticipated, but it wasn't overwhelming at all. The meal was solid and was delivered to the table quickly. From the moment I walked in, I knew this wasn't your average breakfast joint. Their {unique-feature} - let's call it the palpable sense of genuine Southern hospitality mixed with a modern, quirky vibe - immediately sets the stage. It's like your cool grandma's kitchen, but with better coffee (more on that later!). But let's talk about the star of the show: the Biscuits n' Gravy. Oh. My. Goodness. Forget everything you think you know about this Southern staple. This was next-level comfort food. The biscuit itself was perfectly fluffy on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside, and had that subtle buttermilk tang that just makes your soul sing. And the gravy? Forget the bland, floury stuff you get at some places. This was a country gravy, rich, savory, and clearly made with love. The flavors were so spot-on, so perfectly balanced, that when the manager asked how I was enjoying my meal, I practically gushed about the flavor profile! He proudly explained that they make it fresh, on-site, every single day. Amazing. Seriously, I even asked for more gravy (and I'm not ashamed!). The chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy. The welcoming atmosphere is the real deal. It's not just about saying "hello"; it's about making you feel like you're part of the Maple Street family. It's the kind of place where you instantly relax and feel comfortable lingering over your coffee (which, by the way, they have a whole coffee bar with assorted flavors!). The excellent service just seals the deal. From the friendly cashier to the attentive staff refilling my coffee, everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and eager to make my experience a great one. The manager, especially, was incredibly nice and clearly takes pride in his team and the food they're serving. It's clear they've cultivated a positive and supportive work environment, and that translates directly into the customer experience. For the price, Maple Street Biscuit Company is an absolute steal. Whether you're a couple looking for a cozy brunch spot, a family needing a satisfying and affordable meal, or a die-hard food enthusiast searching for the perfect biscuit, this place delivers. Trust me, folks, this isn't just breakfast; it's an experience. Go. Now. You won't regret it.
