You can park at the hotel parking and get 1-hour free validation. Park on the 5th floor (self-parking) and take the elevator to the 1st floor, it's actually pretty convenient. The coffee isn't that great. As a coffee lover, I wouldn't recommend it, but the bread and other items are wonderful! The seats are very good and the vibe of the shop is good as well. I found most of the food in Waikiki area of Honolulu to not be very impressive... but the Halekulani Bakery had such delicious artisan pastries that I made it my regular breakfast spot during my Hawaiian vacation.  The tea and scones here were okay, but the croissants and danishes are a must try! They had the perfect level of flakiness, and come of a variety of tropical flavors. The bakery itself has a nice contemporary feel with a large communal table for indoor seating, and a patio out  front for those who wishes to dine outdoors.  The staff here were friendly. When I'm out of town I won't post much, but sometimes I step out for that special someone. Halekulani you did it. I could have easily posted a Leaonard's review, but that almost feels cliche. A hot Malassada? Yeah it's perfection. This place though? It had a plethora of heavy hitters. I was taken back. I didn't know what to do. Overall 5 stars: Nothing but the best pastries and coffee in Waikiki. A must for breakfast when staying in Waikiki. Food 5 stars: Everything we tried here was amazing. On this trip to Waikiki we ordered the custard pan which had a chewy but airy bread with the most delicious custard which was not too sweet. The raspberry pistachio croissant which was light a buttery with a pistachio and dried raspberry spread. I couldn't really taste pistachio but it was still very good. The last pastry we got was the Maritozzi which was a sweet bread filled with the lightest fluffiest vanilla bean creme. This was definitely a treat in the morning. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie for later and a Pumpkin Latte for the wife which had a heart latte art. Service 4 stars: Most of the pastries are self serve. You need to grab a tray and tongs before going down the line of mouthwatering pastries. Once you picked out all your pastries, you can go to the cashier where you order drinks and pay. The process was fairly quick. Ambiance 5 stars: this bakery is very clean inside and there is a big window into the kitchen area where everything is made. This place gives off a sense of luxury but in a casual environment. We always come to this bakery when having a staycation in Waikiki. One of the first things that comes to mind when discussing the Halekulani is their signature Coconut Cake! It has been a signature dessert found in all of Halekulani restaurants- La Mer, Orchids, House Without a Key(one of my favorite spots/bars on island to watch the sunset), and Halekulani Bakery! The sponge cake is airy with amaretto cream and a coconut flake dusting that makes this cake famous! A little pricey, but worth it for a special occasion! We wanted a quick breakfast and I was going to order from the Starbucks in our hotel but when searching breakfast sandwiches on yelp last night found this spot and so grateful we tried this instead. It was just as quick but amazingly better! We had two quiches, a coddled egg atop spinach ricotta, and an egg breakfast sandwich. Great lattes and pastries here! My husband and I returned here 4 times during our 5 day stay because it was that good. Our favorite drink was the hot latte with one pump vanilla two pumps macadamia nut. They have a chocolate macadamia nut croissant that is heavenly. I want to go back to Hawaii just to eat it again! The coffee croissant is phenomenal too. Chocolate croissant and ham and cheese were pretty standard. We didn't repeat order those, but my kids liked them well enough. I am a pastry snob because San Francisco has some of the best croissants I've ever had (i.e. Arsicault) and unfortunately, with such high standards, Halekulani Bakery did not blow me away. I was excited when I saw the vast variety of croissants offered in the store, but they croissants ultimately looked far better than they tasted. Across the board, the croissants were not flakey. For many of the croissants, the layers had collapsed into a single thick layer. If I had to pick a favorite from the set of croissants I ordered, the everything croissant is something I'd probably try again. However, the salted caramel is something I would never touch again: it was disgustingly sweet. In my group of five, despite sharing the croissant, we found that we simply could not finish it. I never expected this little bakery tucked between two hotels in a backstreet could be so good. Stylish decor and fast service made the place very inviting. You have to go early because they run out of stuff fairly quickly. The breads and pastries are made so beautifully. I love pastries so coming here was a dream. You grab a tray and tongs and start grabbing the treats you want. Some are inclosed so you have to ask to get those treats. I do believe their pastries change. They also have coffee and matcha. There's parking in the structure that they validate. The last time I went, we walked from another hotel. Only thing is I don't live near here and it's in Waikiki. It's always busy when I go. Lovely delight...is what I would describe this quaint self serve cafe. Being a kama'aina (local), it's nice to venture off to sweet Waikiki delights to support our state's industry. Halekulani as you well know is one of our finest in terms of hotel and cuisine. This "newbie" is known for its delectable pastries and desserts located in the Halepuna Hotel directly across from Halekulani. This was my first time and truly I must say everything was great especially being greeted by the door by Joseph, F&B Director. For our initial "sampling" I started with the chocolate croissant (Verona chocolate from California), classic sticky bun and a mango kouign Amman with a hot Americano. My friend grabbed their famous coconut cake slice and their raspberry pistachio croissant and a latte all to share, of course. Everything was amazingly delicious and not overly sweet. It went well with my plain Americano. We savored every bite with leftovers to spare. We loved that their plates were sustainable sturdy banana leaf plates. Their decor is clean and simple. We were there mostly to have a tasting of the coconut cake to purchase for a wedding in May and I was informed that April is when they will take preorders so I will be back indeed. We opted to sit inside on their large beautiful community table since there was a chance of rain. There are a few tables outside as well. Parking is located above right before or you could opt for valet of course across the street. Yes, a bit pricey but worth it. I believe you can get it validated though. Lol! Bathrooms are across in the Halekulani (we wanted to explore) but I'm sure they must have some in the hotel, too. The vibe is mostly "guests" but I did see some locals too. I love that it wasn't super crowded and it's pretty chill. Whatever the reason, it's great to have a tasty treat and support Hawaii businesses at the same time.
