It's hard to avoid that most campus food tends to be only ok and that if you're at Stirling Uni you'll eventually need to eat campus food unless you feel very motivated to travel from campus.
Haldanes has relatively limited hours but is the best food on campus. As of this term it means a selection of panini, a live theatre meal, a main course with meat, a vegetarian main course, a carvery meal, and a salad bar. The options vary and are different every day, but after awhile you'll notice them cycle through options.
I've had meals here that I've only somewhat liked but I've never had anything I dislike, and I have had foods I've really enjoyed. The standards I have for it do rely on the price of a meal being between £4 and £5, but you get what you'd expect and a bit more.
They used to have weekly menus listed on the Stirling University's catering site but you now need to visit to see the meals of the day. It's a minor disadvantage but there's usually enough of a variety to find something you'll like every day.
The main lunch eating hours are 12-3 now but they're open from 9-4 for just coffee and as a good place to work. It's the main place I eat when I need to eat on campus. read more
