Basically a halal guys version of chipotle. I ordered a rice and a salad bowl the lamb with white and chipotle pepper sauce. So good. I've been wanting to try this place out for a while but I only go by it on mondays when they're not open. Well today I happened to be nearby and decided to drop in. I'm a vegetarian and I'm always looking for nice vegetarian friendly places to try out. I was initially gonna get the falafel pita sandwich which is a staple for me at middle eastern restaurants until I saw that I could put the falafel in a number of different options including on rice, on loaded fries or even in a quesadilla. I settled on a falafel burrito cause it sounded eclectic to me. They piled this thing full of all the veggies I wanted and some tahini and hot sauce. For 14 bucks it was a pretty large, solid amount of food. But when I got home and actually bit into it I was blown away by how fresh and flavorful the veggies and rice were. It was a kaleidoscope of tastes and sensations as I attempted to take down this bad boy, while gobs of it fell out onto the to go container. I proceeded to scoop those all up as well, leaving nothing behind. I wouldn't say that it's a particularly good dining experience if you're looking for a place to sit in and eat at, but the food was outrageously good and worth taking home to enjoy. read more

First, the servers couldn't have been nicer, they offered significant sized samples of all the proteins, I settled on their house chicken over saffron rice topped with Tzatziki sauce, then topped with just about everthing they offered and finished with feta, 1/2 Bodega sauce, 1/2 white sauce, and cilantro. The food was flavorful, fresh, and ready exactly on time. The recommendations were spot-on and everyone loved it. The portions were generous, and cost was reasonable. For dessert, we had the caramel stuffed churros. They normally come with a hazelnut drizzle, but due to a nut allergy, we skipped it -- and they were still incredible. In fact, it was the first to go. We had leftovers, and we all fought over them. What really stood out was the service. I didn't even feel like finishing it, which says a lot. It wasn't that satisfying, like how Chipotle or some of the better halal spots just hit and leave you happy. I went to halal papi for the first time on Monday. By Saturday I had gone 3 times. Over those 3 trips I have tried 4 meats and nearly every topping, sauce, and add-on available. Every single one is distinct and delicious. I can tell they put a ton a thought into everything they put out. The service is super friendly and welcoming.
