Funny name for a restaurant that dealing with God Halal as per the name they picked for their business, I think their name was to scam people and make them order and they discover how they will mislead you!! Today I ordered meat with okra or Bamia with meat and guess what they replaced the meat with junk fat inside the Bamia or Okra stew..one spoon in the food made me throw up..ugly food and ugly fraud restaurant..Stay away from these peopl

Delicious!! We brought our Afghan friends here and it was perfect because we needed halal food. Not only was it Halal, but it was so yummy!! I would give it 5 stars but it was so pricey, I just wish it was slightly cheaper. (They range about $19-22 per a plate) The lady was very friendly and did everything herself! She was so generous and brought out a soup for us to sample because she heard us talking about it (that we wanted to try because a friend said they would make it for us sometime). The decor has lots of cool pics from Afghanistan and one special one of Mecca.

Chicken kobida pita and afghani rice (small!), so yummy

The woman working (owner?) was so sweet and was the only one working when I went in. I asked her recommendation between a couple sandwiches and went with it. The chicken kobida pita was so good, it is covered in sauce but it was perfect. And the rice was so good I had to finish it all even though it was so much food. I can't wait to go back and enjoy my meal there and try something new :)

Lamb Bukhari (Lamb Shank) , over rice ! Amazing! Prolly my fav from the whole menu!!!
    ish J.

Dined in here super last minute right before Iftar. Definitely worth the sit down. Great food . Had the Lamb Bukhari, the meat was so tender it was falling off the bones ! The rice was amazing with the side of yogurt and green sauce . The person that took our order was super sweet as she knew we were fasting she gave us some Dates and got our food in just in time. Definitely a go back. If you're in the area for a good Lamb Shank! This is the spot , give them a try you won't regret it !

When I won the lamb shank I always come here the best lady with the best Afghani food. Do you know when the place is good if you keep coming back. How old is sort of the same thing and it's all the same quality same taste that's what I like about this place

Party of two buffet. Chicken wings , fire Lamb shank on point. French fries what ! Koobida, soso. Come and get it. Wont disappoint

Older lady in font sure can get it poppin by herself. Didn't disappoint. Her English a bit weak though. Come try. You will enjoy

This is a decent place to eat however they do not have any lunch specials and that put me off. They do have a nice drink variety and their menu has several options. I got the Gyro sandwich which came out to $7.64. It tasted good too. Parking was easy to find but the staff were not very helpful and dry. I asked what lunch deals they had and the worker looked at me and said "we don't have any", talk about personality! The female who was the cook was outside shouting on her phone and I thought she was homeless because she was by the dumpster. The food is their redeeming quality because when I go out to eat I expect a snails and some sort of customer service. The restaurant was not well supervised, both staff were on the back not paying attention to the place which was odd to me. I hope they read this review and fix some things.

Ordered for take out and really enjoyed the food! When I arrived, I didn't know what to order so I asked the lady at the counter for suggestions. She was pleasant and walked me through their menu, the ingredients and how each dish is prepared. I ended up ordering: Lamb Bukhari - the marinated lamb shank was tender, did not have a gamey taste, and came with hot chili sauce and raita yogurt on the side; it would be fantastic if there were some gravy or sauce from the lamb on the side :) Chicken Souvlaki - the NICE portion of skewered chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender and cooked perfectly; came with chopped salad, hummus, pita bread and house chutney. Mix Kobida Plate - a combo of charbroiled ground sirloin beef and charbroiled ground chicken prepared with onions and spices, both were a little bit on the dry side; came with chopped salad, hummus, pita bread and house chutney. All 3 dishes came with afghani rice which was fragrant and flavorful. LOVED it! The lady also shared that they will be serving buffet for the holiday Ramadan in May starting the 15th I believe? Would definitely come back to try other items on their menu, especially the Mantoo, Ashak and Okra stew. They look really good through the pics and reviews from other Yelpers :)

I am very big on looking at food photos before choosing a restaurant, and the owner had posted so many great pictures that we decided to give Monaia a try. I only wish the photos included the names of the dishes, especially for anyone who may not be familiar with Lebanese food. I went with my husband and my in-laws, and we really enjoyed everything we ordered. When my husband asked our waiter if there was anything we absolutely had to try, he told us we had already chosen everything he would have recommended! We shared the Muhammara, Cheese Rolls, Fried Kibbeh, Makanek (Lebanese Sausage), Arayess, Kibbeh Nayyeh, and the Mixed Grill. My mother-in-law loved the Fattoush Salad, and since I love cheese, the Cheese Rolls were an easy favorite for me. I also ordered the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, which was delicious. They finished our meal with some homemade Baklava- which was a great sweet treat! One thing that really stood out was the Toum (Lebanese garlic sauce). I've had garlic paste at quite a few Mediterranean restaurants over the years, but this was hands down the most flavorful version I've ever had. I ate it with everything on the table! The service was good, and everyone was very friendly. They were preparing for a large crowd arriving around 2:00 p.m., and it was wonderful to see every table begin filling up, especially since this is a newer restaurant. They also did a beautiful job decorating the space. I loved all the photos on the walls, and even the bathroom felt warm, homey, and thoughtfully decorated. We will definitely be back! If you're looking for authentic, delicious Lebanese food with a welcoming atmosphere, Monaia is absolutely worth a visit.

Nothing fancy and down to earth as is the food which takes its cues from the standard Persian repertoire, but done through a humble homemade filter. The portions are extremely large here to show hospitality. You will never leave hungry here. There is more than enough to take home for another lunch to save from cooking another meal. 0) On the House: Large Plate of salad of crisp, chilled iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber with a nondescript creamy, tart dressing. Pita bread basket. 1) Tahdig: Almost all rice based cultures covet the crispy, crunchy rice found at the bottom of the flamed cooking pot. Basically, to recreate this crunchy rice on a large scale, Tahdig is now fried Basmati rice. You can opt to order thickened stews to put on top of the Tadig. I ordered two that came in good sized bowls for 50 cents each...Such a deal!!! 1a) Fesenjan: A mostly sweet and bit sour thickened stew of mostly pomegranate syrup, ground walnuts, often chicken. Pomegranate symbolizes fertility, rebirth and life in Persian culture, 1b) Ghormeh Sabzi: Less viscous stew made from Sabzi which is any kind of green vegetables but, in this case, spinach, kidney beans, dried limes, and bit of beef. 2) Joojeh Kabab: Cut up pieces of bone in Cornish Game Hen seemingly marinated in yogurt so even the usually dry breast meat is moist, firm yet soft. Bravo! I just wish that some garlic, thyme, oregano, Za'atar, etc. would also have been mixed into the marinade for more complex flavours. Dry, nutty Basmati rice is the default, but I wanted to try their Shirin Polo which is a sweet, orange flavoured Basmati with candied orange zest, and generous amount of Pistachio nuts. I thought it would have been analogous to Canard à l'Orange or French Orange Duck. In their attempt to show home style generosity, the sweet, orange flavour was amped up to the point it became almost a dessert. A more subtle Shirin Polo would have made it a more sophisticated dish. Iranian Black Iced Tea: A richer, slightly stronger tasting tea than the standard wussy Lipton style orange pekoe tea. What lacked in awareness of the higher Persian cuisine, 3+ stars, was made up for by the inexpensive prices and the sheer volume of acceptable food presented. Service is fast, efficient if not particularly warm and personable. 4- stars PS Come for lunch when many of the items are discounted.

I also ordered their thick yoghurt with shallots to accompany the menu item. The Kabobs were grilled to order, could have used more flavor and were slightly overcooked. Overall, the components blended harmoniously. What stood out was their pita bread, grilled just right and so pillow soft on the inside. That with the yoghurt was absolutely divine. There was also a starter that came with the dish. I chose the lentil soup over the salad. Wow, an excellent selection. The perfect temperature, a nice mix of spices, warm aroma, enticing flavor and tongue feel. This introduction may have surpassed the rest that was to follow.
