    Beef Seekh Kebab - bland
    Peter M.

Asian Spot is a Pakistani grocery, meat market and hot food store (with hardly any in-dining seating), located at the junction of Tampa and Roscoe. Their hot menu is limited, but covers all the hallmarks of well known Pakistani favorites. Carry out is the way to go. They also have a hot case with samosas (prepared like they really should, with a crisp but thin outer dough wrap). Intoxicating aroma. No thick dough. The accent is on the filling. Here the ground beef, the ground chicken are very mild, but there are no fillers, you can absorb the freshness. Goat samosas are unique, hard to find. Yet my first experience was a surprise. The goat meat is ground, that is okay. But the filling was cold, even had ice particles, exuded cold water. Clearly made from a frozen batch of meat. Another first. These appetizers lack clout in spices, hence miss the mark. Somehow, the potato samosas are the best. The chicken empanada, in my opinion, overtakes the chicken samosa in texture, flavor and overall taste. Chicken Biriyani is good, but needs consistency in flavor, color, fragrance and intensity. The green chutney and raita that accompany these dishes are different and unremarkable. Seekh Kabob (two of them to an order), while well priced, were dry and bland. In spite of this, food here is prepared fresh daily (not the goat samosa), halal and diverse. There is no fish. Service is exceptional.

I ordered their kabob and it was amazing. So much meat. All the spices. Didn't need anything. Just a tiny touch of spicy. Perfect. And the store is small so easy to find your stuff. They have all kinds of things. And are very eager to help you find them. Highly recommend. Check it out. But remember, this is NOT Persian kabob or Armenian kabob. This hits different.

    Delicious beef bone

Friendly customer service, every time! We love getting the beef bone for soups, hotpot, pho, and broth. I always get some beef bone marrow as well. It's perfectly cut and great quality. My husband and son also tried their different empanadas. The chicken and curry were a little spicy but packed with flavor that you don't really need that green dipping sauce. Will definitely come back to try their different cuts of meats.

The dining area. One table for four and a counter with three seats.

Great quality halal meat, reasonably priced groceries. Their biryani is delicious. But you will need more raita!

At first I was hesitant to enter because it didn't have any Yelp listing and It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I am so glad I tried it! When you step inside it is a very small, nondescript interior, but all the meat I've tried so far is fresh and tasty! I got a pound of pastor the first time I went there, just to test it out and I am so happy I gave it a try! The pastor is flavorful and it is just the right amount of spice without being overpowering... it reminds me of pastor from a carniceria I used to shop at in El Sereno when I was a kid. During my second visit at Bendicion, I met Kion (sp?), who is family member and he was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the ranchero bisteca preparado, which is basically the uncooked version of carne asada, I think? They sliced it fresh and seasoned the meat in front of me so I was very excited to grill it at home! We just finished dinner and it was absolutely fresh and delicious! I also got their house made pork chorizo, which we haven't cooked yet but I'm sure it is fantastic like the rest. So far I am very impressed by the spectacular flavors and quality of meats. This was my second visit and I'll be sure to return again soon for more! As a side note, Kion also mentioned his mom is starting a taco catering business, which is the phone number I listed here on Yelp. He said his mom doesn't speak much English though so you may need to be a Spanish speaker to book them for catering, unless Keion is around to help translate.

Instead of upselling, it's the kind of top-tier, no-bullshit customer service where they WANT to help you find the perfect cut of meat for your needs. TL;DR - very friendly service, slightly pricey, wide delicious selection…read more I went in here for the first time earlier this week. It's a small store and you can literally look at everything they have within 5 minutes, but everything is well organized. They have a wide range of meats including dry aged steaks! That was a big surprise to me. They also have a good selection of banchans but if you're expecting a selection comparable to H-mart, then just go to H-mart. Note: they don't sell rice paper because they give it to you for free with your purchase. They even have selections including pork cheek and duck as well. So despite the small size of this business, they have essentially everything you'd want for korean bbq. I'll be returning next time to try their dry aged cuts! Lastly, the most memorable thing about this visit was the lady who helped me (I think she may have been the owner?). I didn't feel pressured to buy anything or rushed at all. Whenever I walk into a small store with only me or another customer, I often feel uncomfortable to buy or get out, but not here. Other than that, the only thing I'd mention is the pricing of their meat and sides. It's a little pricier than you'd expect, but for supporting a small business and getting quality meats, it's no big deal at all.
