Delicious beef bone
Nicky N.

Friendly customer service, every time! We love getting the beef bone for soups, hotpot, pho, and broth. I always get some beef bone marrow as well. It's perfectly cut and great quality. My husband and son also tried their different empanadas. The chicken and curry were a little spicy but packed with flavor that you don't really need that green dipping sauce. Will definitely come back to try their different cuts of meats.

Beef Seekh Kebab
Nima K.

I ordered their kabob and it was amazing. So much meat. All the spices. Didn't need anything. Just a tiny touch of spicy. Perfect. And the store is small so easy to find your stuff. They have all kinds of things. And are very eager to help you find them. Highly recommend. Check it out. But remember, this is NOT Persian kabob or Armenian kabob. This hits different.

The dining area. One table for four and a counter with three seats.

Great quality halal meat, reasonably priced groceries. Their biryani is delicious. But you will need more raita!

The chicken was cooked fresh to order, and you could definitely taste the difference. It was incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor--not dry at all. The portion size was perfect for lunch and left me satisfied without being too heavy. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, making it a comfortable place to enjoy your meal. There's also plenty of parking, which makes stopping by easy and convenient. A special thank you to Uzi, who greeted me with a big smile and made me feel welcome as soon as I walked in. He was kind, attentive, and gave me a great recommendation for the chicken. Excellent customer service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere--I'll definitely be back!

We ordered the lamb shank, samosas, butter chicken, and I believe some chicken rolls that he recommended. Let me tell you nothing disappointed us. Everything was absolutely delicious! I would definitely come back to try more items because there are so many great options on the menu. Before we left, the employee even gave us a complimentary treat, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I wish I had asked for his name because he was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant had a great vibe, and it was nice seeing so many families enjoying their meals. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I can't wait to come back!

If you want to highlight your taste buds, have you tried Pakistani cuisine? Decades ago, my quest for the best tandoori chicken in the valley, brought me to Red Chili on Parthenia, in Northridge. It has always taken the crown. I recently discovered that they actually have a buffet too, including this tandoori chicken, a d only offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 3 PM ($25 plus tax). Things are different here. On the meat side, they had beef nihari, beef haleem, chicken tikka masala, chicken biriyani and tandoori chicken. Last two lived up, amazing. The other 3 were mediocre. Both beef dishes were pasty, already thick and over heated since 11 am. For vegetables, only 3 selections. Chole (garbanzos) was better than the other two, again pasty dishes of potatoes and spinach, that lacked the fresh look and taste. Last two even loosing texture. There were adequate condiments, on the spread. Unique here are the two unlimited selections of freshly cooked naan and puri (Indian buffets give you a choice of none but only one serving). I had 3 puri servings. It was flaky, well layered, soft, easy to eat and melts in your mouth. In a nutshell, finding restaurants in the valley for Pakistani cuisine or at that matter in Los Angeles, is not easy. They are there. OC has a handful that are super. But in the Valley, there is no abundance. So make the journey to Red Chili. At least, just for the biriyani and tandoori chicken.

What stood out even more was the outstanding customer service from Harry, Sukhdev, and the team. After I had already picked up quite a few things, I decided to add a few more items. Without hesitation, they offered to order extra samosas and other fresh items for me right away. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made me feel truly valued. While I was there, I noticed they also have a food counter. Out of curiosity we decided to try it, and I'm so glad we did. The food was outstanding. We sat at one of the comfortable dining tables, and the staff kindly suggested what to order. The paneer was rich and flavorful, the baingan bharta was hands-down one of the best I've had anywhere outside of India, and the makke di roti with sarson ka saag was perfect. We also tried the aloo tikki chaat and the samosas, both of which were excellent. They really nailed the flavors across the board. Beyond the groceries and hot food, their fresh sugarcane juice, quality meats, and delicious pastries are all fantastic too. We ended up taking home quite a few pastries. Delhi Spiceland has become my new go-to spot. Great groceries, amazing Indian food, and warm, attentive service all under one roof. If more stores maintained this level of cleanliness, organization, and genuine customer care, they would all be thriving. Highly recommended. Five stars all the way!

For the mains, they have meals for string hoppers, hoppers, godamba rotis, pol roti and more. Let us not forget the ubiquitous rice and curry, the banana leaf rice packets and the lumprais. Important to note, for those that question it, Sri Lankan curries have a very different aroma, flavor and taste profile than food from any other country. The offerings here, are fresh and cooked with high quality Sri Lankan spices and ingredients. The pol (coconut) sambol is a must, it is intoxicating. Apey Kade is helmed by a delightful husband (Lalith) and wife (Niza) team, who are the culinary trifecta - owners, chefs and servers, at this small and cozy restaurant.
