    Mantoo

This is the best food spot in the valley other than UOVO. You have to order the Mantoo. I haven't tried the kabobs yet, but I'm sure they are great too.

    Kabully palaw meat

The meat in the rice smelled bad. Not worth the price. The rice meat and the kebabs meat were not fresh. Not happy visiting this restaurant.

    This kabaB was very tasty.

This restaurant has very delicious food and very friendly people And there is a very peaceful environment for everyone, especially for families. And I want to come here again and again with my family.

Sabzi, mantu, kabuli pulao, and aushak

Had my first taste of Afghan cuisine here. The restaurant offered all the classic dishes and it all tasted amazingly. The service was great, the food came out quickly and hot and I keep thinking about how good it all was. We tried the sabzi, mantu, aushak, kabuli pulao and bolani. Highlight was definitely the lamb in the kabuli pulao -- it was tender and cooked perfectly. My only wish was that the restaurant was nearer to where I live! One other thing to note is that the menu did NOT have any of the Afghan items listed. The staff said they're getting new menus printed soon with the full menu.

We came to this place on our way from San Diego to San Francisco and got there 5 mins before closing but this gentleman as a typical Afghan style hospitality said no way he'd let us go with empty stomach. He made us Ashak, mantu, qabli and lamb kabob and honestly speaking everything was finger licking good and better than any other place I had eaten. Truly authentic Afghan cuisine. My son who loves mantu said it was better than grandma's mantu which is a huge compliment. He even made us tea to fill up our thermos (Afghans know how important our tea during trips are) He showed us the typical Afghan hospitality that here aboard you rarely get to experience and made us feel very welcomed even though he had every right to refuse us for he was technically closed. This will be our regular stop during our trips to Los Angeles!!

    Dessert

I had an amazing experience at [Nan dagh Kabab dagh]! Their Dessert was absolutely delicious--rich, creamy, and perfectly flavored. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients because the taste is just so fresh and authentic.and I'd go back just for that. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. If you're a fan of desserts, this is definitely the place to try!"

Our first time eating Afghan food and it was DELICIOUS!

Something that I cannot make, something that I've tried, yet the establishment still finds a way to give me a different and enjoyable experience. Boneless Chicken and Beef Koobideh Combo: One of the most dangerous things to order, as both things can either come out as dry, or start off as great, then dry up before you can finish. None of those scenarios happened here. The chicken was soft, juicy, seasoned very well, and it stayed that way. The beef koobideh had this smoky flavor profile, which is different from what I normally expect, and I liked it. Potato Boloni: I've never had boloni in my life, and the closest comparison I have is a Chinese or Korean pancake. The boloni had areas of spiciness, and I think it had room to go higher. It's definitely an appetizer, and I won't mind having it again. Service: There were only 2-3 occupied tables when we went. I think the staff had plenty of time to take our orders, give us water, and the food arrived within a reasonable time. Ambiance: You could tell that the restaurant was designed to host wedding receptions or larger parties in mind. Stage, lights, and a bunch of stuff that may be overwhelming for some. I didn't mind. Good food is all that matters.

You got this intensely, savory eggplant, doused, and yogurt and seasoned oil and when you grab some with some of the homemade flatbread, this is some special stuff right here

I got the family feast and it was absolute perfection. My favorites being the crispy potato and leek bolani, chicken karahi, and obviously the kabobs. The dishes are so incredibly flavorful that I didn't even feel like I needed to use the sauces provided. I like how theres a kick to the dishes, but they're cut by the yogurt. I really appreciate that as someone who cannot handle that much spice. The meat is so incredibly tender and flavorful. Additionally, they have a soda fridge to pick your drinks from as well, and they had really good options there as well. I just liked how everything felt so cozy and familial. It is such a great spot to dine at in Downey.

Followed by the main course .. we ordered their soltani platter, mixed plate koobedeh and salmon platter ... the barq in soltani was soft juicy and so well prepared coz normally it tends to get dry or chewy.. so we had chosen medium ... and it was amazing.. I chose their salmon platter as i was contemplating on white fish but i went as per staff recommendation.. even their mix koobedeh was delicious... it consists of one skewer of chicken and one beef.. not only is their food delicious their portions are very decent .. so much flavors .. we had no room for dessert so we skipped it .. they have a very cosy and neat ambiance.. nothing over the top neither basic.. just perfect.. and what can I say about their staff.. superb.. this has to be our goto place for Iranian cuisine.. by far it scores in all aspects...
