    Philly cheese steak
    Nate P.

Didn't realize this was a food stand on the side of the road but was not disappointed. They make everything fresh and it's piping hot when you get it. I came early when he just opened and got a Philly wiz. I wanted fries but he was waiting for them to be delivered. The Philly was tasty and meaty just how I like.

So good! We've been here a handful of times now, and they consistently put out really great food. It's one of those spots you can count on. The portions are generous -- especially with the house sauce (they do not skimp!), which adds so much flavor to everything. They're also very attentive with orders. We customize ours a bit and they've never messed it up, which we really appreciate. We usually order the House Philly with everything minus mushrooms, along with the house fries the same way. Every single time it comes out hot, fresh, and exactly how we asked for it. The steak is flavorful, the bread is soft but still holds everything together, and the fries are always cooked perfectly. It consistently exceeds our expectations, which is why we keep coming back. Definitely a spot we feel good recommending.

House Philly - part of because the rest is in my stomach.

Ok it's been over a decade since I last was in Philly PA, but after one bite of Philly House's Philly and I was back there on the streets of Philly on my Philly Sammy tour. Made of Wagyu beef and HOUSE MADE WIZ their simple few items is what you'd expect from a place called Philly House. My wife enjoyed the cheese wiz fries and the sand which as well, $18 is a little high but for being the legit most authentic Philly in LA I've had, worth it. We've tried brick and mortar places and I don't know how many trucks, but this sidewalk stand is the best. I hope to stop by here again soon so I can tell them in person how much I love their sandwich. Till then I'll just reminisce of the first bite of Philly House's House Philly. Enjoy!

First of all. I've had this sandwich before but I inhaled it before I could write a review. Let me say this. This is absolutely the BEST cheesesteak sandwich I've had in quite some time! You can taste the quality of the beef in every bite. I ordered the House Philly with white american cheese and it was so cheesy and tasty! The special sauce and jalapeños on the side really took it over the top. The service is great and I will be back sooner than I should lol!

Cheesesteak and cheese fries. It looks delicious and already took a bite of the fries and great!!

Everything was great. Service, friendly, food tastes great definitely found my new spot

Was on my way home from work and saw this philly stand... decided to give it a try and let me just tell you WOW! This was the best philly ive tried in LA. They had seating for me to dine in as well. Thank you Philly House!

this is gonna be good. wait, I already ate it. it was very good

wahwah wiwah...this place was amazing! the steak was super flavorful, veggies had a great bite to them; I even took a chance on their cheese wiz bc I know that's the proper way to have it (plus I don't really like white cheddar or provolone lol), but I'm SO glad I did. layer on layer of flavor that works altogether. staff super friendly, kept offering me extras like their pickled jalapeños and fancy sauce (GIT ITTT). I'll def be back, if you're craving something melty-meaty-mayo-oniony-cheeseness this is the spot! look for the orange banners!

Good high quality ingredients, with friendly service and reasonable prices. Probably one of the best Philly Cheesesteaks in the valley

Great food, if not a tad expensive. Great quality provolone, and they do add quite a bit of meat.

The Host welcomed us graciously, wished us a Happy Anniversary, and seated us immediately at a cozy table in the corner of the busy dining room. The serving team quickly approached, filling our water glasses and again welcoming us with big smiles. We'd had some cocktails before arriving, so my wife decided to stick with a Diet Coke for dinner, but I ordered a martini that was perfectly poured, icy cold, and topped with very fresh, blue cheese olives--a great start. Interestingly, Matu does not offer a filet mignon à la carte. The only way to order a filet (my wife's favorite cut) is to order the Filet Dinner, which is a 4-course tasting menu. Perhaps they just can't get enough filet at the quality they insist on -- I don't know -- but we decided to order the Filet Dinner and share the intermediary courses, with me ordering a small Ribeye and Creamed Spinach as my entree. The meal begins with a small cup of 24-hour Bone Broth that arrives steaming hot and packed with beefy flavor. The rich broth actually coats your tongue a bit, and the flavor lingers nicely. Next would have been Steak Tartare, but my wife substituted the Japanese Caesar, which was exceptionally tasty, with flavors in the dressing I simply couldn't place, but would happily eat for days. The last of the appetizers was a duo of Beef Croquettas -- also rich and flavorful with a savory sauce that amped up the richness even further. I don't know if I could eat an entire order (the full appetizer comes with 4 croquettas). Finally, on to the steak. My wife's Filet was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a deep flavor. My own Ribeye was equally tender, with a rich flavor from the marbling. Both steaks were served the house way, which is warm and red in the middle, with a lovely crust from live fire. These folks know how to make a steak, that's for sure. Creamed spinach was much the same as most places... still, very satisfying and a great accompaniment. For dessert, we ordered the Strawberry Panna Cotta, which was served with a celebratory candle for our anniversary. Mildly sweet with a slight tang from the berries, this was a light and refreshing way to cap the meal. I have to say, this was an excellent dinner with fine service in a wonderful atmosphere. Additionally, the prices are quite reasonable for the location and the quality of the food, and our dinner here was $200 LESS than our Valentine's dinner at Cipriani, so I have to say this would be your much better bet for a celebratory night out. Though my wife insists we come back soon for lunch so she can get that amazing cheesesteak... and I'm totally willing to join her LOL!

The food wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't worth the price, and the plating was poorly done. Nothing really surprised me except the automatic 18% gratuity.

I placed my order through their website, everything showed that their business is OPEN and running, nothing wrong. I arrive to 358 W 38th St and realize it's a food hub (multiple restaurants in one location) I call the restaurant to confirm my order and pick up time and the disrespectful service was what really made me write this review. He answers and says that the restaurant is CLOSED DOWN. The kitchen is not open and he cannot help me by explaining if there is an alternative location which I can pick up my food, goes ahead and says by good faith he will give me a refund and he hangs up. I attempted to try to see if anyone was here, the place is EMPTY. I rang the ring bell camera, no answer. I called back just to have the same person hang up on me 4 more times without taking the time to ask for my information to issue a refund, HE WAS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I clearly heard him taking an order while he was on the phone with me (he had me hold as soon as he answered) so why the unprofessional service? THIS IS A SCAM. There were more people in the parking lot trying to figure out how to get their food. This company should be ashamed of themselves for pretending to be in business and taking peoples money when they cannot provide a service. I was worried that it was too many sandwiches on such short notice. I hesitated but ordered anyways and hoped for the best. I can't comment on the location but it's not too far from my building. On to the food! I ordered the Famous Figueroa Philly with cheese whiz. Although the sandwich was soggy, you have to understand that this is a hefty sandwich, plus it did travel 15 minutes to me. It was filled with a good amount of meat. I could used more peppers and onions but I could only eat half the sandwich. It was delicious with the cheese whiz. This is not your mall sandwich. The food was hot the fries were crispy and had fresh garlic. The food was absolutely delicious! It was so worth taking the chance. I called after I placed the order to ask for jalapenos because my boss wanted them. They did not skimp on them or ketchup or buffalo sauce or napkins....YOU WILL NEED NAPKINS. This is a juicy sandwich. I'll take a picture of the entire order. I let him know that it was a big order and that if it did take longer we would understand. I placed the order at 10:40 and it came at exactly the time stated on Postmates. 11:45. That is awesome! Icing on the cake...I noted names on each sandwich order and they actually wrote them on there....some places would've just let us guess.... Thank you! Overall this is a place you need to try.
