Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but I do not understand all the rave reviews this place is getting. I ordered a felafel sandwich in a pita, with a side of hummus. I prefer pita sandwiches that are cut open and stuffed, rather than rolled up like a burrito the way they do here; the latter compresses everything together into a mush and can drip the contents out the back end, which is exactly what happened when I tried eating this one. This would matter less if the felafel were really good, but these were almost completely tasteless and mushy, no nice crisp exterior. In fact, they were falling apart as I was eating. The hummus was okay. Not bad, but nothing special. And the pita bread they included with it was cold, not warm and fresh. Maybe there are other items on the menu that justify the five star reviews. But the felafel and hummus certainly do not, and I'm not sure I'd want to experiment further. read more

The food was good. My friend ordered Kafta wrap for $13n he liked it. I ordered Gyro salad with steak meat for $18 I liked it just one point. As it has meat it's better not to have cheese in it. The place can be better they need to do small changes to make it look and smell better. Good staff. read more

Discovered this place through ClassPass surprisingly. I had a bunch of credits expiring and wanted to use them on dinner one night and this place had excellent reviews. Boy was I so glad to find Cafe du Liban! Going to be a regular from now on. I ordered for pick up so I can't speak on service quite yet but there's quite a bit of seating for a few small parties inside. The food tastes delicious and is made fresh to order. Portions are generous as well. My highest recommendation is to order the Baba Ghanoush because WOW. It's so good I could cry. When I tell you I ate this entire bowl by myself. I ate it with the saj, i ate it with my rice, i ate with tortilla chips. Insane. read more

Met a friend today at Cafe Du Liban and had a lovely lunch! I arrived first and was welcomed and allowed to wait at a table. I let the staff know that I was meeting someone and wanted to take a look at the menu. I was given a printed menu to review while I waited. When my friend arrived, we both decided to get the Falafel Salad. Well...we should have gotten one to share because the portion was very generous. I took a lot home with me! Both of us really enjoyed the salads. We also shared an order of Cheese Pies, which were absolutely delicious. At the end of the meal, we were given complementary baklava, which was so lovely and appreciated. While we were there, I noticed several people picking up to go orders, so great to know that take out is an option. This was my first time visiting the restaurant, and I look forward to returning again to try additional items on the menu. I just ate at this restaurant. I ordered chicken feta fries and it was so good that I forgot to take a picture beforehand. I just wanted to chow down right away. The service was impeccable. The food came very quickly and I had absolutely no complaints about the quality of the chicken and the beautiful crispiness of the fries as well. This place is so unassuming, but super cute on the inside. I ordered a chicken salad for takeout and it was absolutely delicious. I also got a side of pickles and turnips - it was such a healthy portion! The chicken on the salad was super yummy! Not boring at all and the portion was nice. I was holiday shopping and did not realize that I did not eat. How lucky I was. I saw Cafe Du Liban from across the parking lot. The second line in their sign says simply Mediterranean, so I knew I was in for something very tasty and healthy at the same time. They have a really good menu board. I had a gyro which was really good. The meat was ground and processed but the over all taste and freshness was excellent. I was hoping for chunks of grilled meat like from a kabob. I ordered a side of hummus. The gyro came carefully wrapped, keeping it together so it didn't fall apart before I finished. The staff here are really friendly and offered me pita or lavash for the wrap. How nice. Will try lavash next time. The hummus was spectacular. Just eat the warm pita before it goes cold because it gets a little stiff. I will definitely come back. read more

I stated of with the house salad and let me tell you!! Mouthwatering this salad didn't test like a normal salad so much flavor in it! Then went to the chicken and beef kebab beef 100% hands down was amazing chicken right there with it. It had so much juice to it customer service was incredible. Parking it's OK if it was busy because the shopping center is here it's harder to park. The environment was calm. Just because we did go early in the morning right when they opened. Finally tried this place last night, been a regular at the next door restaurant and also been receiving their postcard/promo so I decided to order to-go. So their main thing is it is a buy one take one plate - or 2 plates for the price of 1. So that's good value for your money. I called my order in total for 6 plates and requested that they separate the meat from the rice as this is a family order. As promised I was there in 15/20 mins and it was packed and ready. As seen in the photo below, it's packed well and would definitely recommend for group orders. Restaurant is clean with a couple of tables. My friend and I were looking for a delicious Mediterranean option in the area and decided to try Cafe Du Liban. A "Good Food Quickly" dining establishment located in a busy strip mall section off Ventura, Cafe Du Liban is a hidden gem in Tarzana, serving up amazing cuisine for 20 years. The entrance is fairly nondescript, but once you enter, you immediately see the open kitchen, order counter, and about a dozen tables and booths for diners to enjoy this elevated (but relaxed) casual cuisine. The staff were extremely friendly and answered a few questions we had about the menu items, specifically the Chicken sandwiches which offered wrap options of Pita and Laffa breads. He explained that he prefers the Pita Bread option as the Laffa is a bit thinner and actually priced $5 more. We each decided to take his recommendation and also ordered some vegetarian Cheese Pies as a starter. Also, check in through Yelp and you will receive 20% off your order! A nice perk. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes for the freshly made Cheese Pies to arrive. These came out piping hot, and actually forced us to wait for the temperature to cool off, or else risk burning the inside of your mouth. These were definitely worth the wait and avoiding the risk of "top of mouth burn." Served five to an order ($10), the filo dough is wonderfully crispy and soft once you hit that gooey blended cheese center. Absolutely delicious and a great appetizer to share. A few moments later, our Chicken Sandwiches ($12) arrived. The Chicken sandwiches were a pretty good size, filled with grilled chicken, tomatoes, pickles, and a very robust garlic sauce, wrapped in a delicious pita bread. The filling-to-bite ratio was spot on, with great sweet, garlic and savory bites a-plenty. The person who took our order, along with a fellow staff member, checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was satisfactory, which I thought showed great attention and care about making the experience match the amazing homemade flavor of the food. The bathrooms were also very clean and well-stocked. Parking is free out front, with plenty of availability, even during the lunchtime rush. I would highly recommend Cafe Du Liban and agree with a lot of the 5-star ratings here. It's always amazing to find delicious homemade Lebanese cuisine anywhere in Southern California, but to also have wonderful service, an inviting atmosphere, a friendly staff and very comparable pricing is truly something special. We've been loyal customers of Café du Liban for over 5 years, but unfortunately this most recent order was extremely disappointing. We paid for express delivery and the food still arrived cold. On top of that, the portions were noticeably smaller than they used to be and pitas were missing for the whole order. The falafel was overly dense and dry to the point that it was very difficult to eat, and the salad was packed poorly and leaked everywhere. For a restaurant we've supported for so long, this was upsetting to experience. Sadly, after this order, we won't be frequenting Café du Liban anymore. read more

They have a very diverse menu, the ambiance was good though it's not a big place, but had comfortable seating, and the owner was very attentive to my dining experience. I ordered the gyro plate with salad and it truly was one of the best meals I've had in this type of cuisine! There's a lot to choose from here. It is not an inexpensive meal for lunch. The Kabobs are incredibly juicy and cooked to perfection! If you like homemade hummus, baba ghanoush has just the right amount of smokiness, and the tabouli salad is very refreshing! My review was based on the menu posted so yes had i not had the coupon, that you have inundated the neighborhood with, the cost for that one plate would have been $25 plus tax.
