honey hot chicken over waffle fries
John Y.

I've wanted to try this place for so long! I'm so glad I did! It's not far from the burlington mall and totally worth the trip. It's a small place but the variety of their menu is good. The food tastes great...as good as seen on social media when this place was new. Hot honey chicken over waffle fries - this is soooo spicy, and the lady at the front does warn you first. It's so good though. The fries are so crispy as well, the pickles were the perfect finishing touch. Must try! The chicken fingers don't look like much, but they were very satisfying. My kid and I enjoyed it much. The chicken and lamb over rice is decent, as was the crispy chicken wrap. Plenty of free parking up front. Friendly staff. Food prep is not rushed, but comes out fantastic. Pricing is reasonable. I highly recommend this place and look forward to my next visit!

Chicken Over Rice

One of my new favorite places!! All the food tastes so fresh and big portions! Extra meat is only $4 and they give you a ton. Prices are not bad either! A loaded plate with rice, veggies, extra chicken, a milkshake and fries came to $25. Fries were seasoned, and surprisingly above average when it comes to fast casual. The inside isn't huge; there are some tables, but could fill up during lunch so I prefer takeout.

Chicken Gyro

REALLY good. I stopped in for a quick bite and the chicken gyro wrap was up in less than 10 minutes. A regular stream of food delivery orders was coming in at a Saturday lunchtime too. The marinated light and dark meat chicken is well colored and flavorful, and the house made hot sauce was spicy, not just hot. The onions and lettuce added texture and the pita was gluten-y and hot. I polished it off in no time. This'd be a go-to place if I lived in the area.

Crispy Chicken Burger

Very nice and flavorful. We had the crispy chicken burger and the crispy chicken wrap. Both were great! Crispy and juicy! I would definitely recommend the wrap if you want something on the lighter side but still packed with flavor! The side of fries was also nice. Overall I'd recommend and can't wait to try other stuff from their menu

Honestly was never expecting to find good halal food in Burlington of all places. Boom. This place came along. Really satisfied my craving. Place had good flavors. White sauce and red sauce flavors we're good. I wish the meat was a bit chunkier. And more vegetables. But that's it! This place is great. Definitely a great eat in the area!

Wow. I did not expect the food to be this good. I wasn't very hungry but knew I needed to get something because the rest of my night was going to be pretty busy. I figured I would grab something to go and eat it when I had time. I found Halal Eatz on Yelp, and decided to give it a try, and boy boy am I glad that I did. I ordered the Peri Peri chicken over rice. The man at the counter asked if I wanted the sauce and the hot sauce and I of course said yes. I figured I would give it a taste while it was hot and I ended up eating the whole thing. It was spicy, but never too hot, It was a nice burn in my mouth. The chicken was great, the sauces added so much flavor and the rice was cooked perfectly, light and fluffy. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other dishes. The only complaint is that the salad, which is undressed, is in the same container as the rice and chicken. It made it difficult to eat but I understand packaging wise it makes complete sense to do it this way. I went back-and-forth in my head on whether or not to give this place a four or five, and decided on a five based on the fact that I ate the entire dish when all I wanted was two bites. The restaurant is small with three tables, but a great place for takeout.

Beef & Lamb Gyro

Loved it! Every bite was so flavorful and the menu has really good options. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro, Nashville hot chicken fries, and Nashville hot chicken burger. The beef and lamb gyro was probably my favorite item ordered. The meat was so plentiful, so tender, so flavorful, and a great texture. I wish there was more salad inside but the wrap was already pretty stuffed so there wasn't much room. The white sauce was amazing and really helped all the flavors come together--it had a similar taste to mayonnaise. The pita bread was soft but I toasted it a bit when I got home. The Nashville hot chicken fries was also good. The waffle fries were like any waffle fries. The chicken was crispy and not dry. They probably had the best Cole slaw I have ever had, so I wish it came with more (though you could purchase a side of it). One thing I will say is that they are not exaggerating by putting hot in the name. It was pretty spicy for me and I usually have a high tolerance for spicy. But I also wouldn't go as far as to say it numbs the other flavors which is good. The Nashville chicken burger was also good. It was very crispy and the chicken patty was thick (right bun to meat ratio). Again, it was spicy but I really liked the toppings it had. I think the cole slaw helped with the heat as it was sweet and gave it more of a crunch. The bun was toasted and it also had a hint of sweetness so throughout my taste buds were going to sweet to spicy to savory which was splendid. I would order from here again.

My falafel Sammy. Yum.

Rice and chicken is nice. But the yogurt sauce seems like it is made with mayo now. I don't really care for anything else on the menu.

Thought it would be cool to watch them cook. The noise level in general was very loud then you add loud staff talking while cooking the meats became inaudible. We had to lean into to try to talk with the person next to you. we couldn't have a conversation. What's the point celebrating there if you can't converse. You don't have a designated server so getting the attention from a random server was challenging. Drinks ordered were a draft beer, gin n tonic and a coke, took 15 minutes plus and had to find a manager to ask again for them. They did not have all the meats that are listed when they come around which I couldn't comprehend because this to me was supposed to be a fun celebration. How can you not have chicken during the time we were there. The staff was pleasant when they came around with the few meat choices. The meats were all extremely over seasoned. Way too much salt. I was hoping the dining experience would've been different. They didn't offer dessert. We got dessert elsewhere. Then the bill comes and they charged for 4 people. There were only 3 of us. Overall, very disappointing. Wish we chose another restaurant to celebrate.

Egg is definitely prevalent in a lot of their dishes, but that doesn't necessarily mean its the star in everything and they do have other options. I'd say the best thing is their spices and sauces (they have varying spice levels for those who don't like spicy). Its definitely not a fancy place, but everything we had from baked samosas to the Hum-Tum was great. Only thing I'd add is make sure to check out their drinks. They have classic mango lassi, but other types too that looked really tasty though we weren't in the mood for anything besides the basic ones. We will definitely come back!

When I ordered, the cashier was warning me like I didn't know what I ordered. I get it! I have fair skin, and the stereotyping is a real thing. I asked them if they could make it extra spicy. The person rolled their eyes at me as they said "okay". When I received my order. It was the wrong order. It looked like mine, so I ate some and I had a bite of the roti, which would be a safe assumption it maybe came with the meal. Not like it's a pricey side dish, or anything. The server comes back who was the same person who rolled their eyes at me and said it was the wrong order. They left the roti at my table. So I had another bite of the first piece. The server brings the "correct" order, and there was no heat. Maybe a 1.5 out of 10 on the heat scale. I asked if it was the correct order. The server said yes. I asked if there was something to make it hotter. The server decided to insult me in front of my family and tell me that I can pay for the roti when I am ready to leave. What?!? It was your mistake, and after you insult me twice, you want me to pay? It's not the price. It they weren't rude. I would have been happy to pay. It's a cheap, unleavened flatbread. So, the food quality is definitely Indian street food. Don't expect anything glamorous. If you want spicy food... unless you're one of those people that find black pepper spicy... get yourself a mango lassi, it is spicier than what they consider "hot". They wouldn't survive a day in my kitchen when it comes to spice. It was a waste of money. Especially paying $50 for street slop on a paper plate. (One appetizer, one soda, one drink, two entrees). No wonder why they charge first, then serve the food. This place could close down, and I wouldn't notice or care.

Been wanting to try this for a while. Lucky for me there was food truck near work!…read more I loved the food. I got the halal chicken with hummus and tomato and cucumber salad. It was delicious and was the perfect the lunch. The chicken and rice lived up to the name. The hummus and tomato/cucumber salad were a fresh pairing that took the chicken and rice to a new level. I wouldn't say it's the cheapest option, but it was still pretty fairly priced and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I also loved the numerous sauces they offered. The garlic sauce was awesome; kind of a Mediterranean spin on the yum yum sauce you get at hibachi restaurants. I also got BBQ, hot sauce, and mint/jalapeño/cilantro. The garlic sauce was my favorite but all were good. The service was very informative and quick. No complaints. I definitely recommend!

I had to read up on WHY this meal even exists - but really, there's no point in pondering it. Its just damned good street food. And its not only chicken - you could go veggie, or get the lamb. I always go "combo", personally. Its cheap, fast, filling, and pleasing. It has that feel of comfort food. The sauces are a nice touch - I tend to mix the "white" and the "hot hot" - especially enjoyable after a cold hike over to the truck in the winter. There's nothing not to like off of the CnRg truck.
