Scarlet also knew I was nervous about changing the color of my hair because I hadn't changed it in so long, so she recommended a balayage treatment, where I could start out with a subtle transition from dark brown hair at the top to a slightly lighter golden brown towards the ends (and she recommended we started off not going too light at the beginning, and then if I liked it, I could always choose to go lighter later on). I talked about how my medical condition affects what I'm able to do in terms of styling and she really listened and made great suggestions on how to help. I LOVE my cut! When I told her I wanted to do something crazy and was thinking purple, she talked through lots of different options with me. In no way did she pressure me into the fastest or the most expensive treatment. She laid out what I could do and the pros and cons of each. I felt really well informed on what I could do! My hair came out GORGEOUS. I've done lots of crazy things to my hair over the years, and this color is my favorite ever. Scarlet is very concerned about the health of your hair. After years of wearing clip-in extensions, I needed an alternative. I wore clip-ins for about 10 years on a daily basis. Recently, I began to notice some of the spots where the clips attached starting to thin heavily. That's when I started to look for alternatives. I knew I couldn't continue to wear clip-ins, but didn't feel comfortable wearing my natural hair the way it was. After some research, it looked like tape-ins were the next best option. I looked into stylists and their reviews. That's when I found Scarlet. I called her and she immediately responded. I was able to get in the same week (a miracle). I took the dive and have switched the tape-ins. Best. Decision. Ever. After two months, Scarlet removed them and put them back in. When I felt my hair for the first time after the two months, I was in shock. It was twice the thickness and was growing well! The tape-ins were installed and removed flawlessly. I've heard of nightmares with tape-ins and how if they're not properly done, the can actually make your hair worse! This was not the case. The difference with Scarlet is that she genuinely cares about her clients and wants to build a friendship. I've been to a lot of hair stylists, and she is by far the best.
