Sad to say we were disappointed when we came here. We had been wanting to try this Haidilao location. It was expensive, ambiance was mid, and the noodle pulling show was not available when we got there around 5:30pm on a Saturday. We ended up paying more than if we had went to AYCE hot pot nearby, which was what we should've done... Service was great though, Zizi helped us before we knew we needed help, and kept our son entertained with toys so we could eat. Quality of meat was excellent and presentation of the food was great. I've been to Hai Di Lao at Santa Anita several times now, and it continues to be one of my favorite dining experiences. The ingredients are always incredibly fresh, from the meats to the vegetables, and you can really taste the quality. Hot pot is definitely a meal you should set aside time for, but that's part of the fun! The restaurant has such a lively, energetic atmosphere that you honestly lose track of time while enjoying your meal. This was actually the first visit where something went a little wrong, they accidentally forgot to bring one of our items, and before we realized it, we were being rushed with the check. But as soon as we mentioned it, the staff immediately apologized, corrected the mistake, and went above and beyond to make it right. Everyone was so kind and genuinely apologetic that it completely turned the situation around. No restaurant is perfect 100% of the time, and what really matters is how they handle the rare mistake. Hai Di Lao proved once again why it deserves five stars. Amazing food, fresh ingredients, wonderful service, and a fun dining experience every single time. I'll absolutely keep coming back! I've been to other locations but this was my first time at the Arcadia location. My friend and I came for lunch on a Monday so there was no wait. Service was top notch and our waitress was extremely attentive even as more people kept coming in during the lunch hour. I didn't realize Haidilao had their own kid's menu so that was nice. They were very accommodating with the little ones so I totally understand why parents love this place. Not to mention the baby apron is adorable. There's a mini bar where you make your own sauces and I like that it's always kept neat and orderly. As for the food, I do like that they use very clean, quality ingredients and are conscious of people who have allergens. It just didn't have the it factor compared to other places and the broth didn't wow me. The items available are very basic and adds up easily when you realize you want more food. read more

I really could eat this for the rest of my life and be okay. They still have great quality meat and vegetables. I don't like the seafood much cause it's kinda flavorless frozen seafood, and aside from the shrimp, every time I order some form of seafood I regret it. Kitty is a fantastic server, very attentive and helpful, and she was working her tail off yesterday. The service is generally good but the kitchen has been rough the last couple of times. We had missing items this last time, and we legitimately waited almost 50 minutes for the majority of our dishes the time before that. I went here with my friends with their kids and was just disappointed with the experience. I had been to the Puente Hills location and was surprise how different the experience was. The layout is nicer than the puente hills locations. We all came here because we heard it was kid friendly. It was too some extent. They ordered kids meal for us when we sat down but they don't tell you it is complimentary until we asked. While we were ordering the waitress said they had no more set meals. The set meals were 19.99 for soup, plate of meat, and vegetables. This was definitely odd cause everything else was in stock. So we were all forced to order off their regular menu. One of the many reasons to go to Hai Di Lao is doing the secret phrase to get stuff. We understand that not all phrases work and it is more of a fun thing to do since it is heavily advertised on social media. None of the phrases work. They had one toy to choose from that they gave the kids which is unlike other stores where they had plenty to choose from. The soup tasted like unseasoned chicken broth with stuff inside. We were a party of 6 with 3 adults and 3 kids. And my 5 year old and 10 year old was already considered adult price. My kids don't really eat hot pot but I wanted them to try it but not for adult price. We ended up getting the one meat lunch special since we were short on time for the ayce. Then when our server was explaining everything to us, all I hear is it's extra for everything even the sauce for each person. It's kinda ridiculous. The decor was really nice. I came here for lunch, and my bill came out to around $30.50. I paid with $40 cash, and the server asked me if I needed change. I said yes because I figured maybe she didn't know the exact total of the bill. I usually tip around 18-20%, depending on the service. However, if you pay by credit card here, I believe the lowest tip suggestion on the iPad was either 20% or 22% (I honestly forgot which one). The server came back with my change, but they had actually given me a discount, so my change was a $10 bill. I wanted to ask if she could break the $10 for me, but she disappeared before I had a chance to ask. I ended up tipping 18% because I happened to have a $5 bill and some change with me. Clearer package pricing or grouped in values would be nice and allow for better price point transparency especially for larger groups. No lines to get in and got seated right away. The service was super attentive and friendly. We also got the BOGO milk teas and they were really good, the less sweet option was perfect. Single serve portion was perfect. Food was delicious. I felt full but didn't have any leftovers. We added the sauce bar which is a few dollars more per person and has a few extras and also opens up a small dessert bar with jelly and almond tofu that I thought was worth. The Arcadia spot is tucked in a large indoor mall that isn't very lively besides the Round One or theater there, but trust me: Haidilao is structured similarly to many of the other locations with the standard booths, sauce stations, dancing noodle performances, and robot servers with waters. I came with some friends for a birthday celebration and they treated us stupendously. We got LOTS of food (mostly red meats, vegetables, noodles, and appetizers) in broth--the tastiest and most filling meal for a party of four. The sweetest part was them singing Happy Birthday to me and giving us a coconut cake on the house. It was very sweet and soft, though it tasted like it had been refrigerated or thawed out from the freezer for a while. Don't get the fish maw, nothing special and doesn't taste real. I liked the mint they gave us at the end. It has different flavors and very interesting flavor for a mint.
