    Elevator is a vibe!

Awesome Hot Pot restaurant downtown. Haidilao specializes in excellent customer service along with high quality ingredients in their hot pot experiences, and they did not disappoint when we visited at the end of August in 2025. Since this is not the burbs, there is an elevator taking you up stairs and we shared the elevator with a staff member using a cart to transport some of the dishes which was cool. Busy place! We had fun trying the interesting Chinese beers as well, which was a nice change from the usual Ting Tsao beer you get at most Chinese places. The mutton brain was cool to look at and actually tasted quite good! You can't go wrong with a Haidilao anywhere in the city and this downtown one rocks!

Came for the AYCE meat carnival, which was $23.95 per person after 9 PM. I was a little shocked when the total bill ended up being around $60 per person. The soup base alone was already about $35, and it was extra for the sauce bar. We also ordered noodles, which added to the cost. The AYCE meat options were very limited. You could only order lean beef, fatty beef, chicken, and fish. If I had known we were going to spend close to $60 per person, I would have rather ordered normally, we could have gotten more variety that way. I also think this would have been better with a larger group so the cost of the soup could be split, since we only had a party of 2. That being said, the meat quality was actually pretty good, and I enjoyed all of the soup bases we tried. The tom yum soup was my favorite. The staff was also great and kept checking in on us and stirring the soup. She mentioned that we needed to keep stirring or else it would burn, and our pork bone soup actually did end up burning. However, she told us we did not need to finish the meat in that soup and that we would not be charged for leaving it, which I appreciated. I will definitely be back for their regular non-ayce menu.

Everything about this place is incredible! The service, the food, and the ambiance My friends and I went here to catch up, to celebrate the holidays, and to celebrate a friend's bday. The staff made the night so much better from singing happy birthday to putting on a hand-stretched noodle show! Would recommend coming here for anything!

Haidilao is a fantastic place for a cozy winter meal! When temperature drops and snow begins to fall, there's nothing better than the warmth and satisfaction of a delicious hotpot. This place is conveniently located near the Eaton Centre and Queen Subway station. If you haven't visited Haidilao yet, this is your sign to make that reservation. Everyone kept raving about the noodle dance, delicious tomato broth, the intriguing secret codes, fun atmosphere, exceptional service and impressive sauce bar that also features a selection of snacks, fresh fruits, and desserts, and now I understand why! I can't believe I waited so long to try Haidilao coz it definitely exceeded my expectations. The service here is top notch and we absolutely appreciate the warm hospitality of the staff, specially Janet! The restaurant is clean and very organized.

it was easy to book a reservation through yelp and we showed up 10 minutes early but they were able to accommodate us. Food was high quality and brought up almost immediately after ordering. The service was friendly and accommodated any requests. As for the facility it was clean and the nicest bathrooms ive ever been too.

This place is multilevel, I think it has four levels, we had a party at seven, we were situated on the third floor. The server took our coats and put them in a cabinet. I was surprised to find aprons on the chair. I guess it's thoughtful so we wouldn't get our clothes dirty. We order a bunch of things the regular meat proteins (beef, pork, chicken, lamb shoulder) and shrimps, I was surprised the server asked if we wanted them to de-shell the shrimps for us, of course we said yes. We also order veggies and some meatballs. The chicken was surprisingly tender. I have to say the washroom was well kept, very clean and no smell. We also ordered the noodle show, a guy was stretching the noodle dough and throw it at us, his technique was so good that it's in our face, but didn't actually hit us. We chose mild soup base so we just go to the sauce station to add our own mix of hot sauce. Our water was filled often, didn't have to ask. It's definitely a five star for me.

Late night deals on beef at 9pm! Great service as usual, it's a lot of fun to use the codes to get freebies. Noodle dance was entertaining If you make a reservation for more than 4 people you need to call to book. sauce and dessert bar is 3.99 per person but basically all you can eat. Relatively affordable if you go for the deal, we maxed out on beef orders, plus got a few orders of dumplings, vegetables, noodles, etc. and we were stuffed for about $30 per person.

So much fun here! Staffs are friendly and super on point! Foods: you must order the salted egg fish balls! Try the curry and tomato broth! The chicken broth is great too! The sauce station has so many options, plus the sweet tapioca soup and herbal jelly dessert are a win! Also the friend buns with condensed milk is a win! What a great experience coming here! Not sure they are fully accessible as washrooms are upstairs and I dont recall seeing an elevator. Aisles can also be cramped if one has mobility issues or need motor assistance. But overall, spacious and if it's your birthday, you get a free toy, they sing to you, and you get a dessert (ice cream!)!

I'm very happy that there's a Haidilao location in downtown Toronto! I made a reservation on Yelp for two on a weekday for their combo special--it was very easy to make a reservation online. When we arrived, we were promptly seated, and we ordered a combo for two which included a protein, staple food, combo platter, unlimited drink of either passionfruit or plum juice, side dish, and choice of soup base. For the soup base, we got the sukiyaki in one quarter, and tomato in another quarter. For protein, we ordered lamb and marbled meat. My friend and I had a great time, eating for two hours. We felt very full afterwards. In the end, to celebrate both our birthdays, we had ice cream with a candle, as well as a gift bag with more snacks and treats. We had such a great time we forgot to use any of the secret codes. Compared to the Scarborough/Markham location, there isn't an area where they do your nails or offer hand massages, and the dessert table is limited and combined with the sauce counter. As I was pregnant, they provided a pillow for a back cushion and offered me a gift for the baby (snacks and toys). The service was very attentive. Overall, we had a great time. Accessibility: it is a multi-level building with an elevator, and the front entrance has an automatic door opener. Paid street and indoor parking are available, and close to several transit options.

Whenever I'm in Toronto, a visit to Haidilao is a must for a satisfying hotpot experience. The quality of the meat is consistently excellent: tender, flavorful, and fresh. There's a great variety of soup bases to choose from; my current favorites are the pork bone broth and the sukiyaki. For spice lovers, the Mala soup is a bold and fiery choice. One of the highlights is the DIY sauce station, complete with suggestions for popular combinations to help you craft the perfect dip. The service is exceptional. While waiting for a table, I was offered water and a light snack. Aprons are provided for every guest, and they even offer hair ties for those with long hair, such a thoughtful touch. If you visit late at night, keep an eye out for special deals. I dined during the dinner rush and received a 20% discount for finishing within a set time limit, and yes, we made it! To top it all off, they serve complimentary ice cream at the end of the meal. I'm a loyal fan of Haidilao and already looking forward to my next visit!

I haven't had Hot Pot in many years but I was invited out with some friends to this location. I've never been before and because it's been a long time since I've partaken in this cuisine, I couldn't remember what to do or how it all worked. However the attentive staff greeted us at the front door, and took very good care while we waited for a table. Our table was on the fourth floor so they provided us instructions and also had someone waiting upstairs to guide us to where we were sitting. Unfortunately we had a large party but our table wasn't big enough for all of us so I wasn't very comfortable the entire evening being squished between my friends and sitting at an awkward angle. But the service is to be commended as they went above and beyond providing hair ties, aprons, endless refills on our drinks and anything else we needed at a moment's notice. The meal itself was generously portioned and delicious in flavour and seasoning. Even the presentation was elaborate and a feast for the eyes. One of our orders containing seafood was delivered to our table in a large, teal blue seashell. I was delighted in trying everything but found myself really enjoying the assorted meatballs as well as the fish dumplings which looked like Hershey's Kisses. We had four main hot pot flavours and even the most spiciest one had a nice kick to it but didn't overpower the meat and vegetables. The Vegetables were fresh, I truly enjoyed the mushrooms. The noodles were worth ordering, including the "Dancing Noodles" which came with a brief show from staff who twirled and stretched the noodles out before dunking them in the Pot. Overall the entire experience was exceptional, wrapped up in an efficient, delicious package. I'll definitely be back but maybe with a smaller group.

We had a 1.5-hour wait as walk-ins, so I definitely recommend making reservations in advance. However it was roughly an hour. Our waiter was fantastic--he went above and beyond by providing a hair tie and a high-quality soft cloth apron (not the cheap plastic kind) to help keep things tidy. One of the best parts was being able to create a hot pot with four different soup bases. The tomato flavor was our top pick, followed closely by the pork bone broth. Bonus: free ice cream at the end! Just note, you do have to pay for the sauces at the sauce bar. Love the cleanliness at the restaurant and thoughtfulness to detail in accommodating guest needs. Great experience overall!

Best hot pot ever. First they gave us hair ties and aprons loved that. The sauce tasted Amaze balls. Oh, she did a game and then once we won the game, she gave us toys. We got one of our beef free. And we got free ice cream and popsicle at the end. Also live entertainment. BEST DAY EVER.

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

This is a new Chinese restaurant featuring Hunan and Szechuan cuisine. The spicy dishes emphasize…read morespiciness, not numbness. A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026
