We got the roasted oolong milk tea and the pineapple fruit tea and they were both amazing! So refreshing on a hot day and the flavor of the teas were so good. The interior was cute too - looking forward to seeing the new design!

Good drinks, friendly owner. I got the Jasmine Green Tea (cold) & my hubby got the Signature Milk Tea with boba. He said it was GREAT boba LOL. I notice other ppl commenting on the boba quality as well. They also have snacks & food. Looks like the space is mainly used by college kids for studying. It's a bit cluttered but I wouldn't mind coming back to get drinks again & checking out their food selections. Tommy the owner is very accommodating & helpful.

My husband and i got the watermelon and coconut passion fruit smoothies with lychee, and OMG they were delicious! Far exceeded our expectations, they were so refreshing and so filling with how much came in the cup. Kelli was super sweet & friendly and made us feel very welcome in her shop. There's lots of cute sitting areas to choose from. Will definitely return when we are in the area!

A small group of us stopped by to try a new tea shop. The tea was good, but average. The boba was very bland and tasteless. This was especially upsetting since the gentleman who was helping us was pushy about upselling to a second scoop of boba. If the boba had been good, the extra cost would have been okay, but it ended up being a waste of money. It is a good place to stop for tea, but pass on the boba, especially since they don't include it in the cost of the beverage.

My friend and I came here to get some milk tea to drink. It was easy to find street parking, and they're located at a corner. When we came in, we were immediately greeted. We looked at the menu and made the order there (there are kiosks). We waited at the seating in the front, and the drinks were brought to us. We got the Hokkaido Milk Tea and Hot Cocoa Milk Tea. They were very good drinks.

HaiCha Tea is located at 12 Harkness Avenue Pasadena, California 91106. It is located a few steps north of Colorado Boulevard. This business is worth the short walk from Pasadena City College. This is a small cozy respite away from the problems of the day. The atmosphere, the delicious herbal teas, smoothies, and friendly service are appreciated by all of its patrons. I was happy to discover HaiCha Tea when I was looking for another location in the area. I looked up its reviews and was amazed at the number of perfect reviews. Quite an achievement for a place that has been in business for a number of years. Clearly this business knows how to take care of its people through great family Taiwanese recipes and old fashioned good service. I was greeted with a warm welcome as I entered the business. After ascending three steps, I entered a small room with a calm atmosphere. With calming music playing and the sound of running water I felt like I was in a meditation room. After talking with the gentleman about the menu, I decided to try the cold Strawberry Herbal Tea. After a short time he graciously brought over my order. He was eager to see if my Strawberry Tea was to my liking...it was perfect - tasty and refreshing. On another visit I was able to fully experience the best smoothie that I have ever tasted! It was a dairy-free Taro Smoothie. What a vision piled high and packed with flavor. On another hot day I was looking for something refreshing and light. The owner suggested the High Mountain Oolong tea. A perfect selection - cool, light, and refreshing. I look forward to coming back and trying other teas, smoothies, and coffee drinks. Street parking is available but this location is a nice walk from PCC or anywhere in the vicinity.

Such a nice kind-hearted soul was the Owner. He had patience for my grandkids as they wondered OUT LOUD what they should get. They ended up with the Taro Smoothie and proclaimed it was the best Boba ever! From the few sips I had it was pretty tasty. There is seating inside with couches and I did see some people ordering actual food (I believe) parking is street parking. Respectfully Reviewed.

Amazing little spot right by Pasadena City college. Calm music when you enter and an enthusiastic Taiwanese owner! We tried the grapefruit lychee fruit tea with lychee and the strawberry smoothie with boba. We also tried the black sesame crunches--yummy! Parking a bit tight--just 2 parking spots in front but if you are at PCC you can easily walk over. We even got a free cell phone holder for the car!! Check it out.

What an ABSOLUTE GEM of a tea/boba/coffee shop in Pasadena! Walking in, the smell of brewed tea and warm sugar just hugs you. Unassuming space, but such a warm and friendly welcome from the owner, Tommy. He exudes such enthusiasm and pride in his products that it is contagious. I ordered the HaiCha Milk Tea 50% sweet with boba, and truly, it's quite perfect. This drink is made with a blend of black and oolong teas. The tea flavor comes through the milk extremely well. The boba are perfectly chewy, bouncy, and this may sound odd, but round and slippery. You would think that all boba are this way but no. We have all had boba where the surface is sticky or squished with flat sides--like eating little gummy dodecahedrons. Ugh. HaiCha's boba are perfectly bouncy, slippery spheres, which is exactly how they should be. Tommy the owner is Taiwanese and imports all of his tea and boba from Taiwan. He brews all of his teas daily and of course, cooks the boba daily. He also makes these delicious Taiwanese snacks: coconut crunchy and sesame crunchy. Slightly sweet and full for nutty goodness! They definitely feed one's nostalgia for Taiwan. There are quite a few boba shops in the Pasadena area, and I have tried many of them. So far, HaiCha is clearly the winner when it comes to authentic Taiwanese tea and boba. It helps that the owner's love and belief in the product is so genuine. FYI: This shop opens surprisingly early, at 8:30am, every day. Apparently, there are coffee drinkers that come in for their morning Joe before work or class. I forgot to ask him when boba is ready everyday. Will ask next time!

Thiiiiiiiiiiis sweet man...we pulled up 8 minutes to close and he was *in* his car trying to go home and STOPPED his car to ask us to wait so he could come back and open up just for us OMG... He wouldn't take no for an answer, so we ordered a Mango Smoothie and a HaiCha Milk Tea (25% sweet). They really care about their customers here! As for the smoothie...these are SO much fun! Piled high like a smoothie tower. Basically two smoothies in one! A steal for the price, really. The mango flavor was nice, the sweetness level was good and not overwhelming, even at 100%. The boba are well cooked, but could use more flavor & sweetness of their own. I would try the strawberry one next time. The HaiCha Milk Tea was a great level of sweet for me at 25% (my usual order anywhere) and had a nice light tea flavor. I would try other tea flavors next time, as they had several that looked good, as well as some.black sesame crunch treats that looks snackable! I would come back here for the fun of the smoothie, especially with friends! Since he was closing, we walked across the street to enjoy our drinks in the shade outside the college and it was delightful. This is a fabulous location.

I was at a Yelp event. I met a new Yelpie friend. She recommended HaiCha. Thank you miss! That same day, on my way out of the City of Pasadena, I decided to come here and support HaiCha. The owner, Tom, saw me outside taking photos and kindly invited me to come inside. Upon entry, he greeted me warmly and with a welcome gift. Thank you Tom for your kindness and generosity! It's a quaint little tea shop with limited inside seating. There is street parking... remember to read the posted signs. Drink options are plenty... milk tea, brewed tea, smoothies, coffee, etc. I couldn't decide because every drink look so good. I asked Tom for his recommendation. He said the most popular is the HaiCha Milk Tea so I had to get that one for me. I got 2 other drinks for my daughters. They loved their drinks. As for me, HaiCha Milk Tea was top-notch tasting! I can taste the authentic tea flavor combined with the smooth milk and toppings. So refreshingly good! Thanks for the recommend. HaiCha Milk Tea + brown sugar + boba Peach Tea + lychee jelly Roasted Oolong Milk Tea + crystal boba Besides drinks, they have a few food items, too. I also saw bags and bags of black sesame crunchy. I love black sesame. I ended up getting 3 bags plus a bag of loose tea leaves. I have already eaten all 3 bags of black sesame crunchy. So addictingly delicious and yummy!! I haven't opened the tea bag yet. I'm sure it'll be refreshingly delightful. As I was leaving the shop, Tom gave me a "come back soon" gift. He is too kind. Thank you again Tom for the cool gifts! I couldn't ask for a better experience... super friendly owner and great service, cool ambiance, amazing drinks, delectable snacks, authentic tea, and wonderful free gifts! I highly recommend HaiCha. I will be back the next time I'm in the Pasadena area. If you haven't tried HaiCha, think no more... just come on over and support them! Btw, guess who I saw here? My Yelpie friend who recommended me here. It was great to see her here, too. So cool!

The new ownership is bringing in some amazing new ideas and the Papua cappuccino is , the ambiance is eclectic and perfect. Service is top notch; friendly and welcoming make this place your go to coffee and boba spot you won't be disappointed!

Swung by on the way to old town pasadena. Ordered a peach lychee green tea with crystal boba (this reminded me more of a palm seed texture vs actual tapioca pearls) was really good! Came here for the first time and was very surprised. I've never had such great service from a boba shop. I ordered online for pick up and was greeted by name and a welcome gift as soon as I walked in the door. I ordered the roasted oolong milk tea, peach lychee tea, unagi bowl, and minced pork bowl. Everything was delicious! The tea flavor really stands out here, even with the milk. The owner also told me the boba was cooked for over an hour which made the texture perfect. You can tell that the owner really cares about his product. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to everyone I know! read more

Came here a few months ago to try since it's a new place for us, and thought the logo was cute lol. The shop owner was super nice. The drinks are made with real tea leaves so the drinks are fresh. The owner also have us a free wireless phone stand because they happen to have a lot at the time so that was really nice of him. They are a small business across from PCC, so definitely check it out when around that area. read more

Boba was solid and the teas we ordered were good (roasted mountain and taro milk). Tommy was really friendly. He recommended the house made sesame snack. Bought one bag to snack on at home and it is really good, lightly sweet and crispy without being too crunchy. The owner uncle is the kindest and sweetest man you will ever meet. He greeted us enthusiastically and instantly made us feel welcomed! Along with the great service, came delicious drinks. We got the HaiCha milk tea with boba and mango passion fruit tea. The uncle even came out from behind the counter and handed everyone their drinks personally. This made the experience feel even more personal! The drinks were not only delicious, but the experience made us feel like we discovered a hidden gem in Pasadena. This tea shop is a hidden gem! The owner is so sweet, caring, and attentive. We ordered a peach lychee green tea (iced) and an oolong jasmine tea (hot). Upon entering the shop, we were greeted and handed two free portable chargers! What a pleasant surprise! The tea is very high quality and fragrant. The owner really cares about his craft and the art of tea. The tea was freshly brewed and he even poured a small cup extra for my friend! It's a cozy place that has a lot of charm. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the owner, Tommy, who welcomed us warmly and even offered us gifts. The space is cozy with a great vibe. Warm lighting, lofi music, and a calm atmosphere make it a nice spot to study or relax. We got the HaiChat Milk Tea and the Mango and Peach Fruit Tea. Both were amazing. You can actually taste the tea, not just syrup or sugar, which really stood out. Tommy really cares about his customers, and it shows. He made sure we were happy with our drinks and took the time to have a genuine conversation. The owner here is soo friendly and kind. We were in the area and was craving boba. Looked at Yelp and saw that they had great reviews so we came in. Upon arrival the owner greeted us with the biggest smile and wished us a happy new year. He also gave us a little gift. Their drinks are also really good! For one of my drinks, as he was making it, he realized it would have tasted better if he made a quick adjustment to it. He asked for permission to see if it was okay for him to change add on I had requested and sure enough, it tasted amazing. He also filled each cup to the brim (understatement). He had made a little too much of my mango smoothie, but instead of wasting that bit, he gave me the rest of it. It sure gave me a laugh because he still gave me a lid enough though it wouldn't fit. Thank you you made my day. And he also sells delicious black sesame crunch. He said that their black sesame was a little different because it has green tea as one of their ingredients. I bought one to try and then ended up buying 2 more bags after. The perfect amount of sweetness (not too sweet) with a hint of the tea coming through, without overpowering the taste of the black sesame. And because it's not massed produced like the ones you get at the grocery stores, it's very easy to bite (not like the ones at the store that's basically drenched in a candy syrup making it rock hard). I'm absolutely delighted by the surprising atmosphere and energy of this wonderful boba shop. From my personal experience, this hidden gem is the best quality boba I've had by the PCC campus. The teas are high-quality and delicious and crafted with care and the food is made fresh and also amazing and affordable. I got the roasted oolong milk tea, the roasted high mountain oolong tea, and the unagi kabayaki rice bowl. The owners, Tommy and Peggy are so sweet and considerate, and you can tell how much love they genuinely put into every item. Our family was visiting from Texas and looking for boba after dim sum when we discovered HaiCha! We ordered a couple of fruit teas and a milk tea, and all of them were excellent. The true highlight of our experience, though, was Tommy, the owner. He was friendly, welcoming, and had such a warm presence. Just stumbled upon this tea place today while looking for some boba tea that's open in the morning. Most places only open in the afternoon so I was pleasantly surprised when I came across HaiCha! The owner, Tommy, was incredibly nice! He walked my daughter through the different tea options and made sure we received exactly what we ordered. To further sweeten the deal, Tommy gave my daughter a small gift! He was very warm and personable and we left as very happy customers. Remember how splendid customer service was in the early 2000's? HaiCha is like entering a time portal of outgoing and generous service. I stopped in for a drink before heading over to Huntington Library. Tommy, the owner, greeted me at the door and made me feel like I was his personal lunch guest. He showed me around the store and asked if I wanted to try fish eggs. I settled for a fruit tea and added the whipped cream topping. Tommy asked what temperature I wanted it at and showed me how he made it. The sweetness level was perfect and the fruit was refreshing. Excellent service is what makes loyal customers. This gets 5/5 star for me. The woman running the store was amazing and so sweet - she was making fresh boba for our drinks and kept us updated on the wait time. The boba was fresh and delicious. The taro smoothie was perfectly sweet. I got the oolong with brown sugar boba which is great - would recommend the oolong if you like a strong tea taste. If you're less of a tea fan try the Hoikkado milk tea. So delicious! We got a bunch of boba drinks and she let me sample some of my friends drinks. The vibe felt cozy - my friends and I were there with their one year old and he felt right at home and they were so sweet with him as well. Authentic Taiwanese tea & food! Owner Tommy made me & my family feel so welcomed. The fish balls & the sticky rice were absolutely delicious. The tea was so good - I'm shocked I managed to take photos before we drank them all. Apparently he uses purified water for everything. Whatever it is, it works. It comes unsweetened, but there's a convenient self-service station stocked with simple syrup, utensils, napkins, and to-go containers so you can customize it however you like. One thing to note is that it's a self-bus restaurant, so after your meal you'll return your tray and dispose of your trash. I had every intention of ordering one of their gorgeous matcha parfaits, but after finishing my meal, I simply didn't have the room. However the issue we had with this was the flavor, or rather lacking flavor. The taste of the Italian sausage was overwhelmed by the red onion agrodolce. We both ate a slice and took the rest home. Even as leftovers we weren't excited to eat it. Charred Scallop Risotto ($38) - What really sold me was the baja uni batter that I did not taste much of in this dish. This was a poor execution of a risotto. The texture was off, and the flavor was overwhelmed by whatever cheese they used in this dish. The charred scallop was one single scallop cut in half and overly charred and rubbery in taste. The blue shrimp were shriveled too. We made sure to eat the proteins to prevent waste but you know it's bad when my boyfriend didn't even want to togo this dish. He normally eats anything to prevent waste. Branzino alla Griglia ($38) - Whole grilled branzino topped with eggplant, salsa verde and herb salad. This was the least bad item that we paid for... Although there was a lot of bones to be cautious of. I understand the risk of stumbling on a few bones when ordering a whole fish but this was more than I would have liked. I also didn't like some of the flavors coating the fish. Although from a grilled perspective it was crispy and perfectly cooked. This is a popular business with plenty of patrons to keep them busy. Whatever they like... it isn't what I look for in a business I frequent. I know they don't need my business and I will gladly stay away and save myself all of the trouble. This was way too stressful and there weren't any dishes I need to have again. My experience was so awful I'm being very generous with this 3 star, which is "average".

The most welcoming and friendly boba shop I've ever visited! Tommy, the owner, greeted me with such warmth and excitement, instantly putting a smile on my face. He went above and beyond, offering thoughtful gifts like hand sanitizers and a phone charger--it was such a kind gesture! But it's not just the hospitality that shines--the milk tea is amazing! My personal favorite is their house milk tea at 25% sweetness with extra grass jelly. The grass jelly, made in-house, has a slight firmness that I really enjoy. As for the boba itself, it's perfection! During my first visit, I was impressed by its ideal balance of sweetness and chewiness. Tommy's kindness and passion for his shop make this place a true gem. We got the Peach & Lychee Green Tea, strawberry smoothie, and the snacks the owner had available -- everything was super delicious and the boba was the perfect texture!!! I loved the snacks, and got some for my mom too. Aside from the deliciousness of the drinks and snacks, I have to mention how friendly and funny the owner, Tommy was. This is the type of boba shop I would want to return to because it feels like I'm supporting a friend or family member. Overall amazing service :) The shop is interior is super cute too. There are tables for you to sit at, and it felt like I was at a boba shop in Asia. A very pleasant difference from other boba shops that look the same/have the same vibe. This place is truly fantastic, and the service is the best I've ever experienced. The owner, Tommy, is incredibly friendly and welcomes you with enthusiasm as soon as you enter. He provides excellent assistance with the menu and remains helpful throughout your visit. Additionally, he generously gives out hand sanitizer and wireless chargers to every customer. Went here with a friend for the first time this afternoon to try out new Boba places, and this spot did not disappoint. I had the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and the drink was very good and was done quickly. The shop overall had a very cozy vibe and the owner Tommy was very sweet and enthusiastic. Out of all the Boba places around Pasadena City College, this one stands out as underrated and deserving of more attention. Great tasting boba, you can taste the refreshing tea and the milk teas are easy to drink, doesn't leave a coating in your mouth like other places. Service is fantastic, making orders just to the customer's specifications with a positive attitude.
