Stumbled upon this gem while on vacation! Great food (I ordered pancakes and eggs my boyfriend had an omelette) great prices (seriously wow), great staff. I love going to eat a places where the food is great because that is a given, but this place was packed on a Monday morning and let me say all the ladies in there were more than fabulous! I would 10/10 recommend! Will return when we visit AZ again. read more

Okay, this is a local's secret. Tucked away off the beaten track. It's not pretty from the outside. The inside is okay! It was recently remodeled so it is much better then it used to be. People flock here because the food is great! The service is pretty good as well. The staff is running when it's busy, which is pretty much all day everyday. The prices are good and considering the quality of the food, I'd say really a great deal! You may have trouble finding it, but once you've been I'm sure you will return! read more

Only been here for breakfast, but in my opinion it's the best breakfast spot in AJ. Both my wife and i have gone there for years and always walked away full and happy, also awesome coffee. Check it out. read more

Very good food. Stopped in while shopping for my winter place and am so glad it's close to where I'll be living. Yay!

Best breakfast I've had in a looooong time! Pancakes were awesome! Excellent service, reasonable prices and it had that "small town home" feel. Nothing fancy but well worth the visit. Also, when you ask for cream for your coffee, they ask what your favorite flavor is and being you a whole basket! (Can't have coffee without my cream) Haha! I'll definitely be back to try other food items. read more

Great breakfast, fast and friendly service. Good value for your money.

Glad I finally tried this place. Best breakfast I've had in this area by far. It seems all the negative commenting is coming from ex employees. As far as my experience, the food was excellent and not greasy at all. The place was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. I had ordered an ice tea, and as I began to leave the waiter had made me one for the road. Will definitely come back! read more

What a great experience!!! Great food, incredible service, and reasonable prices. Breakfast and lunch whenever you want, how could you not love this place??? Come and try it. You'll be as hooked as we are. read more

Great food and great service! Prices are reasonable. The breakfast burritos there are very good! Small town dinner, makes you feel at home!

We're normally just here as "snowbirds" during the Winter, but have stopped in the Summer, too, and it's the same great food, great prices and great service! This place is a "no nonsense" small town grill, nothing less, nothing more. I'd recommend it to anyone! We look forward to dining here each Winter. A great place to get acquainted with fellow "snowbirds" as well as the AJ locals. read more

Honestly I received the worst service I have ever gotten at this establishment this morning. When I arrived mind you most of the tables were not filled. I was not greeted and had to stand at the entry for a few minutes. Then a girl from the other end of the bar yells at me to sit at table 7.. well I don't work here so I do not know where table 7 is and she didn't come To walk to me to the correct table. I went to a table that seemed to be in the area that she pointed at and sat down. I remained sitting here with no menu awkwardly for over 5-7 minutes before someone finally walked up and asked if I had placed a drink order. I said no nobody has helped me. The lady took. My drink order and walked away. She returned with my coffee and water a few minutes later and said Do you need a menu? Well yes kind of so I can see what you have to offer. Another lady came and took my food order and returned with my food. I asked for ketchup and was given a very small container that wasn't even a quarter full or ketchup and she left. That was it. Nobody every returned to help to ask me if I needed anything to refill my coffee. Nothing. I was just left. The hash browns tasted like they had been cooked in bad grease. Omelette was ok but I could have used more ketchup so I only ate a few bites as I was so disappointed in the service at this point I just wanted to leave. I put my card at the end of the table and the lady came to charge me out gladly. Asked if I wanted a coffee refill and responded that would have been nice earlier but I am leaving now so it's a bit late. I think she realized they had forgotten about me but what was done was done and I just wanted to leave. Weird thing is I was by myself. Not a large party and didn't require a lot of work....I thought it was a bit rude of her to ask if I wanted to leave a tip when they had offered me no service whatsoever. I said no thanks to the tip and left. I will not be returning obviously. IHOP is packed and offers me way better service then this establishment. read more

Hole in the wall place, but man they had excellent food! I got a chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and though it's appearance was standard, it tasted superb. read more

This is our local breakfast stop. We are retired, we can go anywhere we want any time of the day but we like going to Hackers. It reminds me of the old home town cafe. Yes they are busy but the staff is really dedicated and they bust ass. I think Ill try lunch today. read more

Dogs allowed on booth seats and near eating areas. While eating two weeks ago, we observed a patron enter with a small dog on a leash and place the animal on the booth seat and then slide in alongside it. Obviously not a service animal. As this was the eating area and almost directly across from where plates of food were being placed by the kitchen staff, we asked our waitress about having the animal removed from the eating area. She informed us there was nothing they could do. We explained there was and animals are known to walk in their own urine & feces and should not be in the eating area or walking on seating and possibly table tops. She shrugged her shoulders. We had been coming here weekly, for almost 5 years, and loved the staff and the restaurant. We also love dogs but cannot accept animals walking on seating and eating areas when we dine out. We left and will not return unless their policy changes. read more

Luckily they were not real busy when we got there. We got our food soon after ordering. It was really good. I was in a party of four and we all ordered something different and everyone liked what they got. I would go again. read more

Delicious!! Best home fries I've had in years; nice & crispy. Hefty servings & it all came out so fast & hot. Price tag was very reasonable also. The pancakes were just mediocre but the overall experience was excellent. read more

Just had to write a review of our favorite place to eat. It's like home to us. We eat there an average of 3 times a week year round. The food is so homelike and reasonable. The owners are great and all you have to do is order something once and the owner knows just the way you want it. We love the summer months best as we don't have to fight the snowbirds. When they come back you can't get near the place, which is a testament to the great food, value and service you can expect in a small diner atmosphere. We have been going there for 2 years and just had lunch there today. read more

I found Hackers online & read the reviews. Sounded like it was a great place to eat, so my husband & I decided to give it a shot. We like to try new restaurants. The place was packed, we wanted a table, so we had to wait (which was no big deal). As we sat & waited we noticed that 98% of the customers were regulars & knew the staff. Finally two tables became available & the people behind us were also waiting for a table. We were seated at the table in the very back & the other 4 people at the table next to us. The waitress brought menus right away to the table next to us, but not to my husband or I. She yhen came back to the other table, took their order & off she flew. Still no menus for us nor did they acknowledge us! Finally I asked a young gal clearing tables if we could please get a menu. NOTHING STILL! The 4 people behind us already had their food. We had waited 20 minutes & we were simply & rudely ignored. My husband finally said, that's it, we're leaving!! Then this waitress looked over & I said, do you think we could get a MENU? She left & 10 minutes later brought us a menu. Had to get her attention again just to take our order! Our food FINALLY arrived & the food was good, but nothing to write home about. We sat there, watched & listened. Figuring out that if you were a customer that the staff didn't know & recognize, you weren't important enough to be bothered with. I found this establishment a very poor excuse for a restaurant, let alone a business! Yes yhey were very busy, but the regulars they took care of like they were Royalty. New customers, oh well, they just don't have time for them. My how times have changed. It's a shame, really! We will never go back & subject ourselves to such rudeness. HACKERS is only for the Local regulars. SHAME ON YOU.!! read more

After reading favorable reviews, my wife and I thought we would try Hacker's Grill. We both got the western served with toast, hash browns and coffee. The servers were very nice and kept the coffee cup full but the western was lacking in the amount of ham, cheese and green pepper in it. Also we have had better hash browns. The food was good but not exceptional. We felt it was not worth the $21 + tip that we paid. We will not be returning. read more

this is our favorite place for breakfast. we go there very often. Kim the owner is a fantastic restaurant owner. there is nothing she won't do to satisfy. my favorite thing or the home fries with bell pepper and onions for breakfast. the location is a little difficult but so worth it and the prices are super good read more

Great food, great service, great prices......you want cloth napkins and candle light, go somewhere else. We're snowbirds and have been coming here for several years. We've liked the place from the first visit and it just keeps getting better! Hats off to all the staff for a job well done!! read more

I am a former employee of Hackers.... The buliding itself is disgusting.... no bleach for the dishes... sorry guys that is food stuck on the silverware from the last meal or possibly the day before... they dont use bleach... my knees of my pants are STAINED BLACK just from kneeling on the floor behind the counter to get syrup or clean a spill on the floor. The owners dont care about thier employees at all. After awhile you loose your name and its "somebody do this, somebody do that," Well sorry lady I have a name. And dont let her fool you customers either... she may smile and remember what you order only because you pay her... and DONT... BY ANY MEANS...DONT RETURN YOUR FOOD! I have seen the "extra special" sauce fall from the cooks mouth to your food and it still be sent out! I stopped taking food home after that! And all I have to say about the prices.... you really get what you pay for! read more
