12/5/25 Yes we returned for more good food and great service today. Apache Junction Atmosphere covered in prior review. Best Country Breakfast my friends-SYOY!

My neighbors told me about this place so a trip here for breakfast was in order. Busy but lively ambiance & awesome staff. You no sooner order & your food arrives, fresh & ready for your dining pleasure! I had the #1 breakfast combo...sunny side up eggs, bacon, hash brown casserole, & wheat toast. Everything was absolutely delicious! This place is in the heart of Apache Junction, ready for your business. I highly recommend Hacker's!

Was in town for a wedding and it was my first time here. Was looking for where the locals went and I was so happy I found this place. The pricing on breakfast was very good and I was pleased with the food and the hash brown casserole was delicious. They have a casserole option instead of plain hash browns. We got our food pretty quick and check out was easy too since you can check out at your table with their portable check out device. There is outdoor seating but I choose to sit inside since it was the morning and the middle of December. If I am ever in Apache Junction, I will stop by again.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday post hiking in the Superstition Mountains. Arrived around 11:30am - there was a wait to get a table, but not more than 10 to 15 minutes. The menu covers breakfast and lunch. Base description is that is covers the normal items you would see at breakfast/lunch joint. I went for a Reuben with tater tots. It was pretty good. The break was grilled crispy and there was plenty of corned beef. The tater tots were just that - tater tots. They were crispy and hot. The place was fine. My food was good. It is definitely a local type place. N*joy..

    The deluxe burger and fries.

What a hidden gent!! My husband and I went hiking in the superstitions and were craving a beer. Burger and fries. So I googled great burger places and Hackers Gill popped up. We decided to give it a try and so glad we did. Got there a little before 1:00pm and was informed by a customer that our timing was great because around noon there is a 24 minute wait. We ordered the deluxe burger with fries and it was absolutely delicious!! Juicy burger with lettuce that wasn't limp and a huge portion of crinkle cut fries! We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the sunshine. Our waiter was pleasant and on point with his service. AND you can get breakfast up till 2pm. So if we do an early morning hike we know where to grab breakfast!! We will definitely be back!!

    Omelet with home fries-yum!!

We came in on a Friday evening and there was plenty of seating. Our waitress was nice and there was live music just about to start. If you're looking for a true taste of Arizona history, character, and downright great food,…read moreDirtwater Springs is an absolute must-visit. Walking through the doors feels like stepping into an Old West ghost town saloon, complete with authentic antiques, historic relics, rustic wood floors, and enough character to keep you exploring long after you've finished your meal. The building and its legendary atmosphere have made it a local favorite for decades, and it's even gained a reputation among paranormal enthusiasts as one of Arizona's haunted destinations. Now let's talk about the food. The Bison Burger was one of the most delicious burgers I've ever had--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and worth the trip all by itself. The menu is packed with hearty Southwestern and American favorites that fit the Old West setting perfectly. What really makes Dirtwater Springs special, though, is the people. The bartenders and servers bring just the right mix of sass, humor, and genuine hospitality. Expect some playful sarcasm, plenty of laughs, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Whether you're coming for the history, the ghost stories, the amazing burgers, or just a fun and unique Arizona experience, Dirtwater Springs delivers. Come hungry, stay awhile, and don't be surprised if you find yourself planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot. Highly recommended!

I understand when things go wrong or take longer. Please tell your diners why there is a hold up. I'd much prefer that than. Itching and watch people who arrived after us being served before us with similar dishes I might add. When in the area I may try again. The place has a cute country theme. However, I will probably try another establishment before I come back. If I could give 3.5 I would. They deserve that.

This despite them stating they would fix it. Apparently even when my credit care company contacted them they have not responded! This means they have had use of my funds for over a month now. Any reputable business would immediately refund/credit the customer. BEWARE!!! Original Review: Check your credit card bill! I was charged FOUR times for our $60 lunch. I didn't catch the duplicate charges until ten days later, and conveniently they had not either, esp. given that it was a very slow weekday in the off season. What followed was a shocking level of rudeness, nonresponsiveness and defensiveness. I called four times. Finally got a message to text details to a specified number - which I did. No response for two more days so I called again and this time got the co-owner Tina. She said no text had been received so I re-sent it to her personal number from the incoming call. As others have reported, she was incredibly aggressive and nasty to me, quite the opposite of apologetic! Multiple other reviews report the same level of crazy from the owners. Our conversation was followed up by a text from her that said, among other things, quoted verbatim: "Well I'm sorry that you had this problem. Sometimes things don't go your way and sometimes things don't go my way." "...that's why God put erasers on pencils because we all make mistakes in our lifetime..." After that exchange, I contacted my credit card company. I am not the only one reporting being charged more than once in these reviews. That shouldn't be something that happens over and over. And if it happens, it should be immediately corrected and apology issued. This situation cost me way too much time and energy to correct and Tina's attitude and tone was especially inexcusable in light of that. As of the time of this writing, NINE days after Tina said she would look into it but "needed time", I have not heard a peep from her or from anyone at The Hitching Post. (She did not know that I contacted my credit card company as a backup plan.) The way she spoke to me was so aggressive that a random person I did not know overheard the conversation because it was on speaker (I didn't realize he was there.). When I hung up he walked over to me and said "I don't mean to be listening in, but I just want to say that woman was incredibly out of line and rude to you!" Skip this place!!!!
