I've come to this restaurant three times in the past and have enjoyed it each time. There is not much wait to be seated. The hostess is attentive and promptly replenished the table salsa once. The server asked for my lunch order at the right time. Just as I took a bite of chips, jajaja. I saw the employees wiping down tables and menus throughout my stay. The food was good, wish I would've ordered something other than the lunch burrito asada. The meat was sweet like sugar not like mole. But I didn't order a mole burrito. I think the prices are great, even outside of the specials. Also, I wasn't offered homemade hot sauces, so that is unfortunate since I like flavor and also heat. I brought my sons here for a quick dinner. The place was busy but we were seated fast. Our server was so fun and friendly. The chips, salsa and guacamole were superb. The salsa especially. Very flavorful and had a good little zing of spicy to it. The menu had so many choices, including some gluten free items. Some real authentic choices to choose from as well. I had the Trio Enchilada and it was amazing. Each enchilada had it's own distinct flavor and the spices were powerful and delicious.l Just like I love! I want to taste the flavors. The portions were large. Everything was fresh and hot so I know it was brought right out from the kitchen. The beans and rice were also great and didn't taste like they were from a can or box. Very good food. Our entire experience was good. Service was great as well. Prices are fair but considering the portions, I think we got more than we paid for. We will be back for sure. To start with, I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, generally. I like tacos and burritos and such, but think Chipotle as a choice for me instead of a regular sit-down restaurant. While deciding where to have dinner recently, one of the family members suggested Mexican and another mentioned Amigo Mio, so here we went. The inside of the restaurant seems a bit dark, but we did go around 5pm, so it may have just been bright outside. We got a reasonably sized table with a bench to sit at. We were promptly brought salsa and chips and had a drink order taken. The staff was very pleasant and cheerful throughout. We were brought salsa and chips a few times and it was not a problem. We ordered a fair amount of food as almost everyone in our party got an entree. I ordered the something-or-other mexicana. It has skirt steak and the fillings to make a fajita style dish. My wife actually ordered one of the fajita options and it sizzled for quite some time as she ate. My food was okay. It suffered from the same issue that I have with most Mexican food in that it is just too bland. The skirt steak wasn't seasoned, so it didn't have much flavor on its own. The spanish rice was good, but wasn't any different than I can make myself at home. The pepper that came with my meal had a bit of kick (I don't know what kind of pepper it was), but it had way too much salt on it. That salt really needed to make it into the beans and the skirt steak. The shrimp, however, were really good. They had a little seasoning and were buttered and were not overcooked. Those were excellent. That being said, the people around me all seemed to really enjoy their food. Even the burger my youngest got he was pleased with. And again, the staff that checked on us was top notch very pleasant. It may just be me, but everywhere that I go and get similiar food, it seems bland. I don't get the same thing at Chipotle, which I wouldn't classify as the same kind of food as Hacienda Amigo Mio, but I'm missing flavor. The people around me all enjoyed and for that reason, I can give this place a solid 4-stars. I will have to come back again and try a different dish to see how that pans out. I would certainly do so even though it isn't my favorite kind of food because they have a large menu and something else may hit the spot. read more

Hacienda Amigo Mio is a good choice for Mexican American style food. I had the enchilada and taco lunch combo ($10.99). All lunch combos come with refried beans and rice. Rancho black beans (cholesterol free) can be substituted for the refried beans. The taco and chicken enchilada combo was very good. Portion size was generous including the sides...you will definitely fill-up on this tasty lunch combo. Service was prompt and very pleasant. It's always a plus when you have a smiling server that genuinely seems happy to be there! This is something that definitely sets this restaurant apart from (much of) the competition where service can be robotic and simply obligatory...it earns them an extra star and pushes them up to 5 stars overall. When going out for Mexican American cuisine, I would return here for the service alone...but the food is good too! read more

I just had an unsatisfying experience following an otherwise good meal. I got a taco salad at Haciendo Amigos Mio and chose the $3 'deluxe' option which added sour cream and guacamole, but it was charged )$3.99 for it. Mistakes happen, but when I asked about it (after checking the menu again to make sure my memory was right) the server said they couldn't change it, the price was what it was in the machine. So a word of warning, if eating at Haciendo Amigos Mio, their menu prices are not accurate and the higher price in their point of sale is the one that's used. Again, the food was good and I've had good experiences here before, but the prices should be accurate. read more

Excellent visit. Inside is much more space than I expected. Lots of tables, booths, etc. Customer service / waitress was amazing. She was patient and prompt. Our food came out quickly. Salsa was spicy! Chips tasted so fresh & warm. Yum. Drinks, and meals all equally good (group of 4! No complaints all thoroughly enjoyed our food.) Filling meal. I've been going to this restaurant for years and recommended too many, but today was unacceptable. The chicken creama enchilada was missing the chicken, just a few shreds that couldn't be found. I didn't order a cheese creama but that's what I got and the chili relleno is described as a stuff pepper and it was half a chili with lots of cheese and egg. It was very disappointing. When I let the server know they gave me half off an unacceptable meal. Seated us at a dirty table. We asked to be relocated. The windows and front door were dirty. It is dark and unwelcoming. There was one CD, played over and over again. They had perhaps two other tables seated, and sufficient wait staff. Ordered the hot cheese dip and drinks right away. Drinks came but no cheese sauce. We were ignored for many minutes. I finally flagged down a girl bussing tables to ask her to get our waitress, that we had not received our sauce. A few minutes later, the busser delivered it. It was luke warm and the consistency of tap water. The waitress came to take our order. The food was acceptable. But she never came back to see if we needed anything. We sat with our empty, dirty plates in front of us for about fifteen minutes. The husband and wife owners were there and ignored us as well. We caught the busser again and we asked for the check. The waitress brought it, and walked away without a single word. We will never return. Most notably and dismaying, the owners were in the dining room during our entire visit. My family and I ate there for the first time earlier today. While we were impressed with the food, the service wasn't outstanding. We left a cash tip for the server anyway, only to find that my card was charged for the amount my receipt showed + an additional, unauthorized, 20% tip (to the penny) When I noticed on our way home, we called immediately and our Server: Anaid T happened to answer and was of zero help. Can I just say, "YES!" Honestly, if I lived closer, I would visit this place regularly. It was a hot day (July 4, 2021) during camping (plus we didn't like our spot) so hubby and I decided that it would be a margarita day. We were off to a good start with the strawberry (blended) margaritas. Goodness! They (yes, they) were great! We originally were just going to go for Nachos and Margaritas but when we entered the location it had a sign about being the best fajitas. We decided to order the fajitas for 2 with all 3 meats (chicken, carne asada, shrimp). Wow! It was fantastic! I mentioned someone in one of the reviews mentioning the spices, I second that, I don't know what spices they use but YUM! We ended up only eating 1/2 (it was that much) and having the other 1/2 for dinner on the next day. Our server was kind and attentive. She checked on us frequently. That's always a good thing. When we finished our meal we went to the little slot machines and played a few dollars. They have the 4 machines strategically angled so that you are not sitting next to anyone. I ordered take out directly from this restaurant for my dad's 80th, $7.50 for delivery and $8.54 for tip. Even though it was expensive, I figured it was better than using DoorDash or Grubhub and would rather support local businesses. For the delivery, I specifically asked that it be handed to me and not left on the doorstep but to my surprise it was left at the doorstep for who knows how long (never informed of delivery) in 103-degree heat. When we opened the food it was very soggy and all over the place. I called the restaurant, and they had DoorDash deliver it and told me my issue was with them because their food is made fresh every day, which was not their problem. I reminded her that I paid them the money to deliver it but she did not want to hear it. I called Door Dash and they could not do anything since I paid them for the food, not Door Dash. Therefore, I had to pay for food, delivery, and tip for food that was not edible. I will never go there again and I will use DoorDash because at least they back their service. read more

My hubby and I were in Springfield when we decided to try this place. I had hope. The first look I got when I looked at the front windows they were extremely dirty. We were seated in a area just by the window and it was so sunny that my hubby had to put his sunglasses on no kidding. We were asked if we wanted to have chips and salsa and asked if we also wanted beans and or guaco. We tried the beans and while homemade they were bland so i dumped the salsa in them. They then needed salt. Then they were good. They never brought us menus. We had to ask for them after our drink order was filled. We sat there a good 20 minutes before I raised my hand to get the bartenders attention to make them aware we had no menus. We ordered the big appetizer plate and my hubby got a Mexican pizza. Which look nothing like a pizza at all. The appetizer plate and for some reason it included coconut shrimp. These were frozen and pre-made and very greasy and very brown overcooked in grease which was leeching oil out of them because the oil wasn't at the right temp when they cooked them and they left them in to long. Same thing with the taquitos, the shell was extremely greasy and overdone. They had chicken in them and there was enough but it was all bland. We had to salt everything. There were no spices on anything they cooked. It was very dirty inside. Look up all the light have old grease and restaurant muck on them really gross. The window was dirty and greasy by booth. So service zero stars for them we even had to ask for our check and a to go box no one ever came back to check on us ever. To bring the check to ask for anything we would need. We won't be back. There are people that actually care about the people who make their restaurant run. Not these people. There was 4-5 waiters and waitresses so they weren't short staffed. They are really expensive for the crap on a plate they serve. I would not mind the prices if the food was edible. Stay away these people don't deserve your business. read more

Had lunch here with one of my girlfriends today and the Skinny margaritas (I got no salt) were perfect, I prefer real lime juice to sweet n sour. Our waitress was the best server I've had in a long long time, she was attentive at the perfect amount and so funny and kind! It was very clean and has a fun bar counter atmosphere as well. Dropped by on a Sunday just after opening, 11:10am. The place was empty mainly because they had forgotten to unlock the front door but by the time we were served there were several other tables full of hungry people. We ordered the house Margaritas on the rocks with salt and the 2 item combo plate both with chicken enchiladas and their tamales which were pork as expected, refried beans and rice. Actually all the food was very good really like the rice the beans were good the chips were great the enchiladas and the tamales we're good. There was enough that even though we haven't had a lot to eat this was enough to bring home leftovers. The margaritas are actually very good as well and for $5.50 not too badly priced. Food came out of the kitchen pretty darn quick we might have had just a little better service from the young lady but that's the only thing that's keeping this from being a 5-star review. They even hug my mom (who is now a regular since I introduced my folks here) every time she comes in. The restaurant is always clean and the decor is lovely.
