The foods is my daughter's favorite and I'm also a big fan. I'm happy with the consistency of the hamburgers and fries, it's just always what you expect. If I had to pick something to complain about (and this is something that many places do now) it is that they charge you 60 cents for the dipping sauces. I'm spending $20+tip on a burger, fries, and a drink. Why do I have to pay for dipping sauce? It just makes the place look greedy when I know they are just trying to keep costs down. Seriously, I don't understand the negative reviews. I've been coming here a few times a month since they opened bc it's so convenient, in a plaza with both Nob Hill and 99 Ranch/Ranch 99. The food is always good and fresh, and unlike other fast food places, they've never gotten my order wrong (knock on wood). The closest has been leaving out BBQ sauce or adding utensils when I always check napkins and uncheck utensils, but that's not a big deal. Here are my favorite things about them: * Solid burgers. * Super fresh and tasty salads for a reasonable price. * Availability of ahi tuna + chicken. * Option to add avocado to almost anything! * Tasty dragonfruit limeade. * Kids meals! Not just for kids, good for an adult who wants a burger and fries without overeating. * Ordering via app! Seriously, I haven't eaten at In N Out for ages bc while they do a good burger, you have to line up to order, then wait for your order to be made. It easily takes 20+ minutes even if you go late at night or midafternoon. Cool if you're super committed, but IMO, there's lots of great places to get a burger. Like here -- where you order ahead, show up, and have your order in your hand in 1-3 minutes! Here are things I'd like to see in the future: * Salmon if enough people will buy it. I certainly would! High omega-3s, low in mercury, and delicious! * The ability to add lettuce/tomato to kids meal burgers. * The app forces you either to give them permission to access your location, or to enter your zip and pick a store EVERY SINGLE TIME. Every other app I've used lets people save their favorite store(s), which makes a lot more sense, esp if you commute. I've noted some people complain the store is dirty. I've seen it both VERY clean, and with napkins and crumbs on the tables at rush times. IMO, that's just normal for fast food places -- and outside of the rush, they're super tidy. Oh, the pics are of a bacon burger (SO MUCH bacon!), and a Cobb salad where I swapped the chicken for extra avo (for no charge!) bc I'd been eating too much chicken. So that's another plug for the app (or kiosk ordering) -- you can see and choose all your customizations, even those you wouldn't otherwise know about! For people who've been coming here a long time, is Habit the place it used to be? I do miss the superfood salads and the old malts -- it's just shakes now, and I really love malts (yes, I have malt powder). But everything changes. I'd give this place a solid 4.5 stars. read more

I did both and it was a good deal but the place is a mess. The tables were filthy with leftover bits and no sign of the staff cleaning them. It wasn't very busy so the staff obviously aren't told to clean, it's pretty disgusting. The burger and chicken sandwich were okay as was the fried green beans and onion rings, but the filth was bad. Well , those that know me , I do not like giving one star but this time it was well earned Beyond the fact the picture of the food on the self service is about half size in reality , the service is the real issue One in the group went up and after buying 3 10 dollar burgers we asked for 3 water cups. The food here has normally been good tasting and consistent. This day, I decided to get a lettuce wrapped version of their BBQ Bacon Char with cheese. It was a bit disappointing, though. Came by for a light dinner the other night and it was a mediocre experience. The Habit was recently named the best burger in the US according to USA Today... This location was conveniently located across the street from In N Out and may have been the home to a Sweet Tomatoes previously. Parking was available in the private lot or on the surrounding residential streets. Dining is available both indoors as well as outdoors. Ordering was done via the kiosk. One kiosk was apparent and there were 2 additional kiosks that were facing the door. Ordering via the kiosk was bizarre as a phone number was required to place an order. No paper receipts were available, only receipts via text or e-mail, which was even more bizarre. I was glad to see that no more employer mandates were listed on my receipt. Ordered a charburger lettuce wrapped with cheese, and avocado. Being used to the In N Out lettuce wrap, this lettuce wrap was different... The burger was okay. The side of onion rings were also mediocre. They seemed to have been frozen and the oil could have been even fresher. ~$15/head after tax for dinner. read more

Habit burger has fantastic burgers. You really cannot go wrong with the charburgers! However this place really needs to be cleaned more often. It's usually pretty dirty which is really sad because the crew is hard at work making fantastic burgers. You can tell if they had more help and someone to constantly sweep the floors, clear the tables, and take out the trash that it would be a 5 star experience. Food is hella legit. We finally got around to trying it thanks to these hot deal coupons we got for a free chicken club and a free double cheeseburger if you spend $6 on other stuff (we got some sides). I like the condiment choices with various sauces, peperoncinis (spicy!), and pickled jalapeños. - Chicken club: the bread was pretty flavorful, griddled, topped with avocado mash. The chicken breast itself was just ok. - Double charburger: a pretty sizable double cheeseburger - Fries: just ok for both texture and flavor - Tempura green beans: a unique side and a great way for the kids to get some veggies in, which is rare for a burger place. The kids loved this with ranch It's a pretty easy fast casual meal and is family friendly. It's too bad for them that they're right by an In and Out (though it's a different style). I've been going to The Habit Burger Grill for a while now, and it's a solid spot for a quick fix. I love using their app to order ahead it really saves me time, especially during lunch rushes when I can just pick up without waiting in line. The food is decent; the charburgers are flavorful and the fries are always hot and crispy. Service-wise, it's neither great nor terrible just average, with staff getting the job done without much enthusiasm or issues. Surprised at the low # of stars. I like this location. Easy to order, food is great, workers are nice, and pretty easy to get seating. My go to order is the Cobb Salad and a side of onion rings, but everything is yummy. My kids like the burgers and fried green beans. Milkshakes are thick and delicious as well. They're finally open! I've been driving by here and noticed the old sweet tomatoes location getting remodeled. Now it's opening day, and this shiny new location is full of energy during the lunch rush. The store looks pretty standard. The menu and fountain drinks are the same. Today I got the Portabella Char, a single patty with creamy aioli and shrooms. The toasted bun had a nice crunch, and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. To commemorate opening day, I got the feature mocha shake. They promote that it has hersheys syrup. Topped with whip, it was nice and rich, if not a little small. read more

My first time dining at this Habit location. The guy taking my order was super nice and courteous. My food came out in a reasonable amount of time (restaurant was only slightly busy) and every thing was cooked perfectly. I asked for fries well done and they came out crispy but not overly done, just the way I like it. The char burger was cooked as it should (buns toasted, meat hot, lettuce cool). Food is great but the service has been terrible every time I have used curbside pick up. I arrive check in and no one comes out. I go in to find my food sitting there getting cold and the employees just standing and talking. This was also the case today. I walk in after waiting outside for awhile and my food was on the counter, they apologized and handed my food. Had to ask for a cup to get my drink. Long story short MARIA who works at the habit here in Mountain View has the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've never made a yelp review and I downloaded it just for this, because wow she was something else- all over a cup completely insane. I guess not going to keep it short- I ordered on the self service thing and I added the aqua Fresco, which on the photo has a clear cup verses a solid white cup. On the self service iPad it shows the solid cup (FOUNTAIN DRINKS ONLY) and the clear cup for aqua fresco, so I finished up my order and pay on the self service and I realized I need to ask for my drink as it says on my text message is received while waiting. I patiently wait til MARIA was done with whatever task and kindly requested my drink. She handed me the solid cup and all I said to her was "is it not a clear cup? I'm getting the aqua fresco not a fountain drink." She rolled her eyes put the cup back and walked away then turned around and said "you don't get a drink then." ???? Uh I don't get my drink I paid for because of confusion???? I had my boyfriend return to the front because I came back empty handed and he grabbed me a cup from the stack of cups and began filling my aqua fresco (the aqua fresco machine was a solo machine apart from the fountain drinks) she then yelled at my boyfriend and told him "she doesn't get a drink! you grabbed a large and she paid for a regular" and told him I declined a drink from her ?? Girl why would I not take my drink I paid for ??? So he threw out the large cup and asked for the one I paid for and she threw a regular solid cup at my boyfriend. We got my drink and got our food and, MARIA said something (I was too far to hear) to everyone working and everyone laughed and looked at me while I took my first bite of my burger.. call me crazy but I think they did something to it.
