What a great way to treat yourself! Came the day after my birthday and I left with my scalp feeling squeaky clean. I set my reservation online based on what I thought I needed. When I came, they diagnosed my scalp by taking pictures and then recommended which treatment would be best for me which ended up being the Special Scalp Care Treatment. It was very relaxing (I was definitely hungover). I almost fell asleep while they were going to town on my scalp, it felt so nice! I do think the massage portion wasn't the greatest but otherwise it was a relaxed experience! Would definitely come back and even am considering being a member!

Quaint head spa in Burlingame. The staff here are a the best!! They are caring, makes sure your visit is satisfactory and works to stay on time. The massage was great and the best part is they use quality products like Olaplex!

I've been trying to make an appt at their San Jose location for months but they've become so popular they're booked months in advance or if you're lucky, you'll see an opening due to a cancellation. Of course, you best be at the ready as that appointment will get booked quick... After about 8 months of trying, H20 Head Care opens a 2nd location in Burlingame. This location seems a bit easier to book an appt online. My friend was able to find an opening for 2 for the same time (a month out) which makes for a great pamper day. I tend to hold most my tension in my face, head, neck, shoulders so I was really looking forward to a relaxing scalp treatment with massage. As another reviewer noted the description is a little misleading as it notes a massage with your treatment. It starts off with a very light, 5 min upper body massage and well...that was it! Hmm can't say it was beneficial as it was so quick...Next, was a wand scan of my scalp (shown on a monitor) showing I was oily with a recommendation of a double wash with a hair moisturizing mask. The treatment was very relaxing that I fell asleep while my therapist massaged my temples, lightly scrubbed my scalp and used their special rinsing contraption while you're zen-ing. Overall, a wonderful experience and would recommend the basic or intermediate treatment for your first visit. I can't say they customize based on your needs as my friend and I compared notes from our treatment and it seemed she got a double wash as well even after being told she had a dry scalp...not sure if they used different cleansers/shampoos...hmmm. Therapist were both very friendly and made sure you were comfortable and relaxed. At the end of your treatment they offer to dry your hair but opted to take over after she dried 1/2 way...my hair was noticeably softer and felt cleaner. A treatment I would indulge in once or twice a year. Olaplex products and brushes available to style your hair. Private parking lot shared with a liquor store. Smaller location to accommodate 2 guests in separate rooms.

Came here with my mom for her birthday and it was a very fun experience. This is a smaller studio so they can only accept 2 guests at a time, and each guest gets their own room. I really appreciated the privacy and then calmness of the environment. The studio was very clean and our scalp and hair felt cleaned and refresh after the session. They started off the visit with a back massage, which was a pleasant surprise, then the scalp treatment, and finally they blow dry your hair. They had a camera to show me my scalp before the treatment, however did not show me the after-treatment view. I wished I got to see if my scalp truly looked different afterwards. Additionally, I also preferred if they would tell me what they're doing each step of the way without me needing to ask. Aside from that, I had a wonderful experience!

Made an appointment for my mom and I to experience the beginner head care. I booked about two months in advance because this place is so popular! You can sometimes get lucky with last minute cancellations though. They have two treatment rooms, so while I was able to get my mom and I the same appointment time, we were in separate rooms. The outside is pretty unassuming and in a plaza, but the inside is neat and modern-looking. For my treatment I had CC: -started with a back massage (you will have to remove all your upper body clothing for the entire treatment) -she took pictures of my scalp and explained to me what she saw (I appreciated her saying that the beginner treatment was enough for my scalp needs! Felt nice that she wasn't pushing for me to spend more) -after pictures, she did a deep wash of my hair, used various tools on my scalp, scalp massage, did a neck/shoulder massage, steamed my hair -she showed me after pictures of my scalp -ended with her blow drying my hair and applying olaplex products! -she went 20min over the time even though I was 10min late! So patient and nice of her. They are offering 20% off right now since the Burlingame location is new, which made the beginner head spa ~$110 after I tipped. Definitely a "treat yourself" experience, but it was super relaxing and I recommend trying it especially while the deal lasts!

I had to try this hair trend seen on ig & tik tok. Easy online appointments. Small shop with 2-3 rooms. Sweetest ladies working here. Relaxing and hair feels great after. A thorough discussion about your hair and scalp. Hair images from hair scan is quite fascinating. It's pricey for me $180 without tip. I'll do it 2-3 times a year. Small parking lot shared with other stores.

When it comes to gift certificates, you cannot book your service through their website, so I decided to go in person to make my appointment. The lady who helped me was super friendly and made me feel welcomed. It was highly recommended from the person who gifted me the gift certificate to either book with Wendy, due to her pressure of really getting in those tight areas, or May, who was also really great. It just so happened May was available for the time that worked for me. The spa is clean, May came to greet me right on time, she asked me if I had any area's I wanted her to focus on, and checked in on me multiple times throughout the massage to confirm her pressure was ok. I never felt so relaxed and so comfortable. I would definitely recommend booking with May for your next massage in Burlingame!

I had called to cancel because I was sick, and even after explaining that, they still charged me. I understand they have therapists to pay and overhead to cover, but I was hoping for a one-time exception given the situation. It makes you wonder--would they have preferred I show up and risk getting others sick? They said it's their policy, but it was never mentioned when I booked over the phone. They later pointed to an email with their policies, saying I should have known, which didn't sit well with me. As for the massages, they can be hit or miss--I've only had one truly great masseuse there. To be fair, the staff is polite, nice, and respectful. But this experience left a sour taste, and it made me feel like they didn't really value a returning customer.

This is my secret spa when I need total rejuvenation…read more I've come here after international trips to decompress from 15+ hour flights, and every time, it resets my entire nervous system. What stands out immediately is how curated the experience is from the moment you walk in. Even the names of the services feel intentional and aligned: there's a clear brand philosophy behind everything they do. The decor is thoughtful, not overwhelming, and once you enter the massage space, the experience becomes even more personalized. You first enter the sliding wooden doirs to a crystal grid, and the therapist actually takes the time to understand your body--areas of concern, areas to avoid--which is incredibly important. Not all massages are created equal. When a therapist works with your body instead of just applying routine techniques, the experience becomes far more effective. Afterward, you step into this walkway that feels like an evening on Malibu Beach--the sound of large ocean waves, the lighting, the atmosphere. It pulls you into the present moment in a way that feels intentional + ritualistic. Inside the room, everything is designed for comfort and immersion. The tables are warm, there's a soft white fur blanket, and even the smallest details are intentional: the cute tiny Tibetan bowls where you place your belongings. When you pick them up at the end, it creates this subtle, calming chime. It's those small nuances that make the experience feel iconic! Each massage therapist has their own artistry, but they all follow a unified philosophy. The use of essential oils, guided breathing, and the ambient sound of ocean waves creates a full sensory experience. At times, it genuinely feels like you're on a coastal retreat--there's even this subtle quality in the air that mimics that ocean freshness. Kinda like salt [reminds me of those himalayan salt rooms in jimjilbangs in Korea]. Even the restroom is clean, calming, and consistent with the overall experience. Usually a candle of their signature smell is lit...nothing feels like an afterthought. I've had massages all over the world, and this place is something special. It's not just about getting a massage--it's about the environment, the intention, and how your body is guided into relaxation. That level of care makes a difference. The staff is warm, some know me by name, and it always feels like I'm stepping into a space where healing is the priority: physically and for the nervous system. If you become a member, it's also much more reasonable to come regularly, which I highly recommend. This place is precise, intentional, and beautifully executed. I love it. My true oasis in The Bay Area.

I have been here 3 times now and have had great experiences each time…read more In 2016 I was in a major motorcycle accident where I got ran over by a car. Luckily I came out of it with bruised bones / road rash and nothing broken and no internal trauma. Ever since the accident I have had issues with my right shoulder, especially as I work with my hands as a auto/motorcycle mechanic and maintenance mechanic for industrial coffee equipment like roasters & grinders as well as side work doing fabrication / repairs etc. I have really gnarly knots and issues in my right shoulder that require someone who basically is trying to kill me with their elbows, but knows what they are doing. Here is how the massages have gone with their respective names. Mia - Really great massage that is fairly strong. She was able to recognize fairly quickly that the center of my back just below my neck and along the left side of my shoulder blade has knots. She spent some time working on it and was very good. Spent equal time around the rest of my back as well. Eva - One of the partners of the shop who has 15+ years of experience. Sometimes when you get a massage it is obvious its a bit like rewatching a movie. Same movements, same pattern, over and over with no particular attention to detail. Eva is exactly OPPOSITE of this. Think of a specialty trained sniper honing in on a target from miles away. That is Eva. She immediately found the knots, bad shoulder etc. She asked me about it and I was able to convey all the issues. She also speaks the best English out of everyone else I have tried if you need to clearly convey an issue. She really knows what she is doing and was able to break up the problems really really well. Not quite as strong as the others, but that doesn't matter based on her technical skill. Really really excellent. Gina - I have been getting massages since about 2008ish. Hands down, without a doubt with only 1 exception via someone who left the industry Gina is the strongest person I have ever received a massage from. I have had a lot of walking on back massages that add pressure, but Gina was able to apply more force via her elbows bending over me from the side of the table than anyone who has walked on my back. She is not as technically skilled as Eva, but the strength is amazing. Now what is REALLY cool about this place is Eva's flexibility with my admittedly poor time management. I get 2 hour massages and recently specifically requested Gina due to her strength. She wouldn't be available until later, but I was in a time crunch. Eva who remembered me from a past visit offered to perform the first hour then let Gina take over the 2nd hour. So I got sniper Eva who worked out the fine details, then Gina at the end to use her Thor's hammer strength to finish the job. A last detail here. The showers are actually clean and nice. I like to get all the oil off of me at the end of a massage. I don't mind oil in a massage, but I hate feeling oily after. Some places I have been in have a shower that looks like its owned by a frat house. Mold, soap scum, a mildew smell, disgusting. When I had my first shower here a candle was lit, I was given a fresh towel, and everything was stocked and clean. Water is blisteringly hot too which is fantastic. No need for me to try new places. The only other place I would recommend at this point is Avee 9 in Redwood City due to the skill level of their walking on back massages using oil. That's a super hard technique to perform and they nail it. It is noisy there though and no shower. I moved from Redwood City to South San Francisco, thus why I gave comfort pro a shot. 10/10 would recommend. Haven't had a bad experience yet.
