Well!!! Downtown Seattle is well downtown Seattle. This is at the downtown core. Rent gotta be so expensive!! But I'm glad they are here. Asian grocery story right smack in the middle of the city, right next to pike place market. It's cool. The cleanliness of this place alone is 4 stars for me. Usually Asian grocery stores I've been to aren't the cleanest: or this neat and pretty. This place is actually pretty: hardwood floors. Super tidy shelves. It's awesome. Food is Korean mostly from what I saw. I don't know most of them but they all look good. And that one bag of chips I got! $19 for a bag of chips but it was salted egg yolk chips. Delicious! They also for some reason have the cheapest fresh peppers in town. Usually I pay $17 for habaneros but they have them for $1-$5 here! Crazy. Even tried their tofu hotpot items. It was prepackaged with fresh tofu, soup base and all. Pretty delicious! The only draw back for this place is current downtown situation: not as safe even during the day with covid. A lot of cracked out hobos. And no parking anywhere close to hear so you do have to walk. Just don't go at night! Friendly staff too. read more

Wanted to try this place because we had a layover for a cruise. Went and got the pork belly, sesame chicken and don don meals for myself, my fiancee and my grandmother. I also got an off brand soda (forgot the flavor) that was good as well. We toured the stored, while I am not a connoisseur at Asian groceries it seemed to have a wide selection of items. read more

The H Mart in downtown Seattle is in a prime location. The staff is always extremely helpful and fast and check out and the security is super friendly. The store is also clean and orderly. The selections is great at H Mart and they are the only place open on major holidays. I recommend stopping by and grabbing a to go meal or some unique snacks! read more

It is New Year's Eve in Seattle, Washington, we are staying at a hotel nearby, and we are walking. We needed some Chinese food and some drinks to help us celebrate the new year. This is a convenient location that had everything we needed. I love this place so much. The only other H marts I've been to are the huge one in GA, and the small one in U district. Of course nothing can compare to the mega H mart down south but there almost nobody spoke English- which is totally fine, but this one has super helpful staff and was a lot easier to navigate because I could ask questions! It's a good thing that I don't live closer, else I'd eat twice my body weight in red bean Mochi and doriyaki. Only complaint I have is that it doesn't have the impressive skincare section that the one in U district does, but it does have a lot more produce than that one so it definitely evens out for me. read more

Not your average H Mart. We bought some Bulgogi and Galbi from the hot foods section. The quality was not good. The meat was so dry and chewy. The Bulgogi had small bits of bones chopped in, so had to be very careful while eating. On top of that, the prices were very expensive! My recommendation is to make the trek out to Uwajimaya. We went there a few days later, and had a much better experience. read more

Very nice grocery in the midst of downtown. It's much smaller than any Hmart I've been to in Seattle or LA area, but they do really have a lot. Produce is fresh and priced well and there is a hot food bar for meals to go. The ice cream section only had Dreyers and Hagan Daz, not the plentious imports with exotic Asian fruits and flavors. The store was very clean and modern and felt like a little European market. It was fun to take the escalator down to the subterranean store. I scored a box of delicious, ripe mangoes for a great price and the largest papaya I've over seen in all my adventures. read more

Why are you selling things that are supposed be kept frozen in the refrigerator section?

Excellent supermarket for our touristy needs and probably for locals too! It's close to our hotel, has long operating hours, and fully stocked with cooked foods, convenient ready-to-cook foods, fresh produce, instant noodles, drinks, and a wide selection of frozen products. I don't think I've seen so many different Korean-style instant noodles on one shelf! Or soju. Or banchan. Or drinks. But even though it's an Asian supermarket, they also stock non-Asian stuff. The first time we came in was to pick up a quick and convenient dinner for the kid. We found the cooked/prepared food section right away as we went down the escalator. The first night we bought one tuna mayo onigiri (rice ball/musubi) and some drinks. The kid inhaled the musubi so quickly that the hubs returned to get another. The ratio of rice to tuna and mayo was just nice, the nori was fresh, but the rice was a tad hard, which is probably why it's marked down 30% off. We also tried the fried fishcake banchan. It was too spicy to be enjoyable although we finished it! I think with some shoyu/soy sauce it would taste better for me! Tonight we came back and bought all the remaining tuna mayo musubi (also for our in-flight meal tomorrow, hopefully they'll still be edible!!), the spam kimchi, and bulgogi musubi. We also got the California roll, it was ok, the rice was a little dry. The hubs also picked up a spicy pork don, which was surprisingly good! The pork was tender, sweet, and spicy. It was a little oily though, and the rice was a little hard as well. I got a pack of mini seafood pancakes which were dried out (don't get those!) But still a good deal if you're looking for a quick grab and go meal. Note: Utensils or napkins aren't provided. The Korean (presumably the owner) lady cashier is super friendly and welcoming! Both times that we came in close to closing time, she's smiley and courteous. read more

Love that this store is basically always open, especially when other places close so quickly. However, the workers in charge of making the hot foods were in a seriously bad mood. When asking for an extra container from them, they all scowled and said no. No? It's only one container and it we were buying one of there hot food options (the salmon was not very fresh). We ended up getting a container from another girl on the other side of the store but my gosh! Don't talk to the workers! read more

It has variety but don't expect too much variety since it is smaller compared to their other stores, such as the one of Federal Way. Its best feature is the location. It is the only Asian grocery store in Downtown Seattle. For that I need to give it props. read more

Asian grocery stores have popped up over the past couple of years. When I was a kid my parents brought me to Uwajimaya, Foulee, and Viet-Wah. Then came along 99 Ranch, Seafood City and H Mart. It's interesting to see how much demographics have changed in this region. My friend told me about the opening of H Mart in downtown Seattle. I usually go down to the Federal Way location so I was surprised to see the downtown location was a mini version. The set up is like IGA on 3rd Ave where you have to take an escalator or elevator down to the basement. They don't have plastic/metal carts but they do have roller baskets. Parking used to be easily accessible many years ago but as you can tell the downtown corridor has been developing. Do your bulk shopping in the outer neighborhoods. Shop at the downtown H Mart for convenience items that is unless you want to walk out the door with a bunch of bags in hand and drop them dolla dolla bills for public parking blocks away. I like how I can easily take a 3rd Ave bus to get up here and another 3rd Ave bus to get back to work. As a welcoming gift they were handing out free paper towels. I'll probably toss mine in the back of my trunk. I also like the set up where the grab and go items are stationed right when you enter the store. It makes sense because a lot of their customers work downtown and it's the fastest way to get some Korean grub during breaks and lunches. They have a dining area and I'm sure security will monitor it to make sure people aren't overstaying their welcome. It's a good addition to the neighborhood and I'm glad Nordstrom Rack found a new home. read more

This place is great. Just outside of the Pikes Market area away from the huge tourist crowd. The people are friendly and there was one security guard that stood out. He was so nice and gave my son a snack. it felt like we were in Hawaii as he had that chill and laid back spirit but still kept a watchful eye on everything. There is a small hot food deli there and a sit down area and my son and I were able to buy some groceries and eat lunch there at a nice quite pace. read more

Many products and foods are at least double the price compared to the same ones in International district . Only street parking available and very limited at that since this location is right by pike market - checking out. There's literally no room to get by without bumping into another person especially with a basket full of stuff. The pathway is very narrow and it's awkward to place items down to get rung up. I think it was designed for quick check out with only a few items -prices seem a bit higher than the bigger h mart locations like in Lynnwood or federal way But it's conveniently located for all the downtown folks and its nice to have easier access to all the Korean goods without needing to travel as far! read more

This place just recently opened and it's close by, so I was dying to check it out. I was surprised by how expansive it is! It has everything you would need at a grocery store, a variety of fruits and vegetables, meats and seafood, frozen foods, noodles, sauces, soups, snacks, alcohol, etc! They also have the Korean beauty products that I love- Innisfree, Laneige, Nature Republic, and The Face Shop! Secondly, they also have a prepared foods section with hot foods such as calamari, seaweed rolls, chicken wings, donburi/unagi/bulgogi bowls and a cold foods sections with tons of banchan, poke, and chirashi bowls! This is definitely a one stop shop!!! They also have things I would usually get at a QFC at a reasonable price. I'm not sure what the parking situation is, but it's definitely easily accessible by bus since it's downtown! I'm just afraid I won't be able to buy too many things at once but this is probably going to be my new grocery stop! read more

What a welcome addition to downtown - located on Pine between 1st and 2nd (nominally at 1601 2nd, but that's not the main entrance), this is a Korean market with lots of Japanese and other specialty items. They have a wide variety of Asian products (noodles, kim-chi, sake, etc.), as well as ready-to-eat meals (beef donburi, sushi, etc.). It has a different focus than Uwajimaya, and a different audience -- this will be a lunch spot for folks who don't work close to the ID (International District). On the down-side, the eat-in area is small, and even on the first day, they didn't manage to keep the tables clean ... I'll attribute that to start-up growing pains, but I hope they address that quickly. read more

A smaller mart but it has a bunch of snacks and goodies and a hot food section. Has a small bakery area and lots of fruits. I think you can get almost all that you need, but the harder to get stuff should be found at the big market in China Town. I got a strawberry bun with fresh cream and a lychee milk tea. read more

A nice alternative to Kress and Whole Foods, but with an Asian and Korean lean -- which makes it more interesting to browse in and also look at in my opinion. They have Asian premade foods (with selections like kimbap, bulgogi, and chicken katsudon), a big fruit and veggie section, a big selection of liquor and alcohol, Asian imported snacks, and a small K-beauty section (in addition to all the usual "grocery store" aisles). Overall, a great addition to the Belltown-Pike Place area and fun to go into, even if you're not even grocery shopping. read more

What a great find! The produce is fresh and delicious - and as cheap as you would find in Safeway or similar - and top quality. Lots of great Asian food as well as all the normal staples. Lovely fresh sushi to grab and go and great cuts of meat to make all sorts of great foods. Really helpful team in the store who let me know that if there was something in particular I needed and couldn't find, they'd order it in. Try it for a standard shopping day or to grab some spring roll wrappers, won tons, noodles or all kinds and so much more. Beautifully laid out and just plane yummy. Love it. read more

This place is teeny tiny...this the smallest HMART I have ever been to. I used to live in NYC and even in NYC HMART in Midtown Manhattan K-Town is bigger... This is an HMART you go to when you need to pick up your Asian basics (there aren't a lot of brand options)...when you don't want to drive out to the Suburbs. The store is clean, the employees aren't friendly, but no HMART I have ever been have the employees ever been friendly. I have a secret belief that HMART only hires crabby and mean people....Maybe they should reconsider renaming the store to MEAN-MART or CRABBY MART. They have a small meat, produce, snacks area, a larger than normal pre-made food area...and there is a little area by the cash wrap if you want to eat in. The prices are higher than the suburb locations. For instance there is something I purchase at the Lynnwood location is 1.79$ here it is 1.99$...another pre-made item that I purchase at the Lynnwood HMART is 4.59$ here is is 5.99$ but take into the consideration that you are paying for the convenience and I am sure the rent is astronomical as it is down the block from The Market. I'll come here in a pinch considering I live 2 blocks away (the walk up the hill kills me) but I will still make the drive to Lynnwood once a month for more options/selection, a bigger store and way better prices-but like this store ZERO Customer Service. read more

This H Mart is the answer to my prayers! It's in the perfect location making it easy to stop by before/after work during your commute. It is surprisingly large inside and has a great selection of ready-to-eat meals, snacks, produce, frozen foods, alcohol, everything! They even have a small beauty section and half an aisle of cute socks. There's also a section where you can grab a table and eat too! I know it only just opened but so far it's always been super clean and employees have consistently been very nice. Side note: someone who works at this H Mart loves IU and I'm here for it. I stopped by two separate mornings this week and they were playing IU songs exclusively. It made my day both times and makes me like this location even more! Hehe read more

ugh, so annoying...since COVID i haven't looked at my receipt as closely as before. when i went home i was thinking my total seemed kind of high. sure enough when i looked they have charged me for 3 packs of bulgogi instead of 2. ugh. it's bad enough that everything in the store is already expensive...just as bad or worse than Uwajimaya. if they ask if you want a receipt, say yes! then look at your receipts before you leave the store! for a "real" H-Mart experience, you'll need to go to Lynnwood. read more

This location is small but they have the best of everything. Other h marts seem to have inferior staff and products for some odd reason.

Fried chicken was excellent. Kimbop was good and bulgogi lunch box was yummy. Tasty and one of the better deals in the area. Good produce as well. read more
