Well let me start off by saying that I have been going to this damn HEB since it was the size of a Walgreens. Used to be where the Blockbuster and Tuesday Morning are a few blocks down. I think I'm showing my age cause that was in the early 90's! I'm only 19 btw lol Regardless yeah this is one of the many ghetto and bad HEB around SA. Why are all the nice ones located in the far North Side?!?! Don't shop here unless I need to. It's the 2nd closest HEB to me and the 1st is even worse than this one. I'd rate that one zero stars if I could! All thses horrible HEB's make me miss the days when I could walk to the Kroger on Main St where the Via Offices are or the old Albertsons on St. Mary's where the YMCA is being built. Sadness, for now me and about 80% of SA are stuck with crappy HEB's. I drive to Super Target now while in SA to get groceries or while at UT during school I goto Randalls. read more

Just a neighborhood grocery store. Nothing to rave about especially since the corporation has chased out all competition. Staff have been unresponsive to my requests for international food. I can get all the beans and cheese I need, but ask for felafel or jack fruit and expect confused faces. Staff have often responded to me as if I were speaking a foreign language when I asked for hotdogs. read more

Went by my favorite grocery store to pick up the usual basics. Everything going smooth then I hit the express Line register and sure enough - some annoying smoker asked for a pack of cigarettes that the cash register lady can't seem to find. So a simple 5 minute operation to get in and out now turns into an 22 minute ordeal while the rest of us in line all wait for her to find the right cigarette pack Attention H-E-B managers- please please designate only two of the registers upfront for cigarettes purchase to avoid these continuing annoying headaches. There is no reason to punish other customers because of the few random people that ask for cigarettes. It would just seem to make more sense to channel them all into one or two registers -this way the cash register people have more experience from continually getting the right cigarette pack for these people And the people who smoke get served promptly , and more more importantly the people who do not smoke do NOT have to be punished and made to wait in line needlessly for this sort of dumb process to continue. Not a big fancy HEB but i like that. They have everything i need. Always fresh and well stocked.The sushi is good early in the day but it seem to be kept up with all day so its not so good during late hours.Big wine selection which makes me happy. The beer selection is pretty diverse but most of its not kept cold.The lines move fast and the cashiers are always cool. Things are always very clean and shelves don't look like a mess. Would be cool if it got some upgrades. read more

I really do love this particular store. I guess it's all perspective, but I've lived near big HEB mega stores with tons of fancy, and then I had the unfortunate experience of living near a truly awful HEB on the near West side (that I still have nightmares about)... but this one hits the spot. In fact, I drove out of my way for years to shop here before I actually moved into the neighborhood! I like that it is decent sized, not too big or too small. I do wish there were some things that they don't offer currently, mainly a vegetarian section beyond the tiny little frozen food section, but overall I am generally able to get what I need for my family and get out of there in a reasonable amount of time. When I have (rarely) had a problem or complaint, management has been super responsive and provided excellent customer service. I do try and make it in there either early in the morning or before 5pm though, to avoid the big after 5 rush that is common. Unlike other stores, they are always good (in my experience) about opening more registers when it gets crowded. And darn it, they are just *nice* there! Customer service is still a priority here and that's a quickly fading thing these days. read more

I go to the store almost every day. I don't like the big "once a week" shopping trip. So I've kind of gotten to know some of the staff here. I gotta say, there are some really fantastic people working here. I've lived in the area for almost 6 years and the majority of the staff has been there the whole time. That speaks for itself. The receipts taste terrible!! Don't ever lick them. By far the worst tasting receipt I have ever laid my tongue on!

Best HEB yet. I go there at least 3 times a week just to pick up small items for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Its always well organized, pretty clean and there are always plenty of cashier lanes open. Sometimes there is a line, but they move pretty quickly. Just one caveat, check any sale item prices as they're scanned. HEB has a BAD habit of not inputting sales into their system. It is usually always a mixed crowd, from blue collar workers picking up a "sixer," to your local Congressman picking out a nice bottle of chianti. read more

I have been going to this H-E-B for years. Produce is always great, employees are always friendly, meats & fish selections are always great too. No matter what side of town I live on, I will always make the trip to this H-E-B. read more

So HAPPY that this HEB has been updated. There is a greater wine/craft beer selection, awesome new deli, and a good selection of cheese and cured meats (it isn't Central Market, but still great). The produce section is great and prices are overall reasonable. Can't complain. Checkout lines seem to always be pretty busy during peak times; even though I had more than 15 items, and employee allowed me to check out in the 15 items or less line which saved me some time. read more

The only thing inconvenient about my HEB is the lack of a drive thru pharmacy. The people in the pharmacy are great though. They always make sure to give you the discount with or without your rewards card which is nice, but don't ask for generic stuff without a valid prescription. They'll turn you down! read more

Well currently this HEB is under some remodeling reconstruction. This is just another neighborhood store. I will say that I have been to better HEB stores in general but I have never had any issues with this store. It is on the old side of stores that were opened that is why it is in need of some renovations. read more

Stolen personal items out of my cart today around 6:00-6:15. Brushed off by two employees and then demanded to speak with a manager. "Erica" finally came out to talk to me - I am not satisfied at all with how this was handled. I'm going to make a police report tomorrow. Will add to this after police report. read more

My favorite home HEB. Have everything you want and more and it's super convenient popping in and out. Their produce is beautiful, and flowers and balloons Are great too. I find the best deli in town. Everything is always fresh and available! read more

I'm a big fan of heb and a big spender like usually 2000 dollars a month of my income goes to heb so I have to leave a horrible review based off of my most recent experience at this location after choosing to stop here because it was on my way home from where I was coming I decided why not that was my 1st mistake besides everything being poorly placed and mapped out in the store after spending about 30 mins gathering all I need they tell me at the register they will not sell me cold medicine along with cough drops. During cold season geez I asked you can't do two separate transactions immediately the response is no. It really upset me, why can't I get my cough drops along with cold medicine during flu season thus setting me off I didn't even want to give them my business after that after all I give heb all of my business for them to not even try to be understanding and just say no well fine. I say no too, I won't be spending my money here. Just giving anyone a heads up don't try to buy cold medicine and cough drops at this particular heb because they will refuse to sell em to you it doesn't matter if you support heb with all of your wallet the moment you are sick and need medicine they have no regard for you. Horrible customer service heb and that statement is coming from a long time loyal customer. read more

The selection is great! Recently though, I went and actually got there after close (Google's hours were wrong) and the security guard was super nice about it, he told me that it happens sometimes and gave me directions to a 24 hour HEB. He was wonderful and I could not have asked for a better staff! Keep up the great work! read more

I have found the store cashiers & clerks to be very rude and impolite! I was at the store the other day and at checkout, I had finally had it with the cashiers. Many of the 12 year olds they have working there are always in a hurry, never respond to the customers questions or comments, make faces or sigh loudly if you ask them to slow down because you want to see the charges. Six times I have found the prices higher than what advertised. I just had heart surgery and when I asked the young girl to bag lightly because I cannot lift heavy items, she tossed the items out, sighed loudly and made a face. I am so sick of their attitude. They have no manners! Another very important factor....many of their workers walk around with ear plugs or headphones and when you ask them for help, they don't hear you. The same for those working outside...just a liability to the public, the employee and the employee. HEB Olmos Park has the rudest staff of all stores. Charlene was my cahier! This location is close to my house, but is recently under renovation so I haven't been shopping there so much .Nonetheless,when I do and can't find a product I want, the employees are so nice and helpful.I even know the cashier in the photo (total eye candy). read more
