Quality content has gone down significantly. Either potranco and 1604 or the 211 curbside. Why have the option of someone shopping for u when u can't urself and get poor quality shopping? In the last 2-3 months I've had to throw away and swap out items on the spot bcuz someone was not paying attention to the notes option. Or double bagging heavy packed bags. Having produce items of break/squish-able mixed with heavy items. And don't get me started on the fulfillment center. read more

H-E-B is great! It has everything and more. Very organized and no chaotic aisles--every aisle was marked and visible. The store is clean and staff were very, very friendly. There are fresh refrigerated pre-made meals, if you're in a time crunch--all you have to do is throw it in the oven. They even sell poke. I'm from Hawaii and just had to see how their poke bowls (raw fish) tasted--and I must admit that although not the same, it was pretty good! HEB reminds me of Whole Foods, Down to Earth and Central Market but on a much larger scale. They have curbside service! Order online and pick up at the designated curbside service area (this is clearly seen as soon as you enter the parking lot). I highly recommend that you come in a see what the hype is about. H-E-B Plus....thank you for being on Potranco. Lol. Wow...this place has everything. Fresh produce, sushi....oh and the new seafood section. Yesssssss! Oh oh and the new pre-made meals. Well they aren't cooked they are next to the seafood area. But thy are really good. From steak to pork chops to shrimp to salmon sided with pasta or asparagus or jalapeño cream cheese potato skin ( yeah love that one). Also,e and my son loves the samples. Now every time I go to the store he wants to go. Weather the samples are good or new drinks it a great time. Oh and sometimes they have recipes that teach you how to make the yummy food they just served you. We have almost fully converted from commissary shopping to H-E-B. Well the best thing happened today. I went to HEB to purchase snacks for an event that my College was hosting and I didn't know how I was going to handle this alone. As I arrived I was greeted and was able to ask a lead at the front about tax exemption which is always half the battle with some places. As I had to go through the aisles to get all I needed I had over two carts full and was already stressing about how I would handle the register. I had lots of HEB partners that came to the rescue. The scanned it all from the cart and loaded up my baskets. The manager even came with me to my car and another partner helped. The best thing is they loaded up my car without me having to ask. This store is very clean and organized in the products they have. This store is always packed. But the flow they have the lines go real quick. So that makes it all good. The cashier was very friendly wish I could remember her name. And the bagger was fast and placed the groceries in the cart very carefully. I have to also say this store is very well kept. I love this HEB! The store is always clean. It's pretty well stocked. The only area where I have issues is, they are usually low on HEB diet soda, which is the best, imho. I have used their curbside & their delivery. They are always professional and courteous. I've never had any issues with people being rude aside from some rather "entitled" customers. (Karens, you know who you are.) The guys in the meat department are always helpful with finding the freshest cuts for me. The bakery is very good. Even their sushi kiosk is great. I especially love the variety of cheese they keep on hand. Honestly, it's one of my favourite stores. Even if they mess up, they always make it right! Love you guys & gals!! read more

Went into the store to order a cake for a birthday party. The lady Sarah was really helpful and nice at the bakery. Ordered a full sheet cake. Wanted to get the Hello Kitty design they had but the Hello Kitty plastic head they had for decor was missing the bow and the local nearby store had non either. Said it could be possible that it's low on stock or discontinued. So we ended up picking an edible decal. They had about 4 to choose from. The side design was suppose to be the Hawaiian theme of the minion cake but it didn't really look like it when we received it. I like the flowers they piped on top. Picked buttercream frosting, half chocolate / half vanilla cake, the filling of the cream was suppose to be like cool whip and strawberries. The cake looked good minus the side decoration. The filling was just okay. The buttercream is super sweet, the cake was a good dense cake, but it was lacking strawberries. The edge pieces of the cake has no strawberries. The pieces didn't have enough or no strawberries as we were cutting. That was the bigger disappointment. About $89 for the cake with these specifications. read more

In the area of far West Side of San Antonio this HEB is one of the larger ones. It is actually an HEB plus. It has everything that a regular HEB offers but also has a restaurant inside offering barbecue. The store is massive and offers a few extra products that the other HEBs do not offer. I went to this store just to try something new and was impressed at how much more they had to offer. In the meat section there is a cooking demo that seems to be going at all times to show the products the store has to offer. There also seems to be a better selection of cuts for various meats than at other HEB stores. Despite the fact that it is a bit out of the way by a few miles I see myself checking out this store more. read more

So I've been shopping at this HEB 100 plus times and today was my first time using curbside. Curbside is beyond amazing I almost felt bad for it because they did every thing for me to putting the bags in my car. As a picky bagger type of customer I appreciate them taking into consideration everything I ordered and having it organized. I called the previous for help because I've never done anything like curbside before and the man that answered the phone was very nice and helpful. Then I was running late due to errands running longer than usual and called curbside and the man David was also very nice and understanding. I ended up being like an hour late but the moment I pulled up another young man came very polite and happy to finish my order up and placed everything in my vehicle. Afterwards I tried to tip him and then he declined my tip due to it being his pleasure to help. Amazing experience from pre-start to finish. read more

Curbside... just don't do it! Received nothing but dented cans as well as the wrong type of water asked for. We do not have substitutions on for the items so we should have received the correct water we asked for in our order. We also clipped online coupons for free water for the water we wanted and turns out because they gave us the wrong water the discount was not acknowledged and we ended up paying for the free items. Will not use curbside ever again! Too expensive for little mistakes like that! I'll take my $5 curbside charge and three percent per item and go to Walmart where it's free! read more

Needs to do just a little bit of shopping for the upcoming week. Of course on a Sunday afternoon. It's going to be crowded and today was no exception. Found a parking spot easily enough and luckily there were still shopping carts left, but not a lot. Spent about half an hour getting the items I needed and then it was up to the registers. Luckily one of the HEB people up front noticed I didn't have a full cart (waiting in a regular lane) and said I could use an express lane. Otherwise I would have been waiting much longer. The cashier was nice and had me in my way in no time. Couple that with getting out of the parking lot easily and onto Potranco and this was a great visit on a very busy Sunday. read more

I got a two meat BBQ plate and the Mac & Cheese, and baked beans were tasty sides. I was stuffed. Of course the shopping experience was quick, easy and fast. So everyone knows that H.E.B. has been around forever and a day. Most of the time you get a hit or miss with the standard HEB stores. Some dirty, some clean, some with rude employees, some not. You just never know "what" you're gonna get! Well they certainly raised the bar when the opened HEB Plus! The people are ALWAYS friendly, helpful, and best of all the stores are CLEAN! What I find to be the coolest thing is they actually demonstrate the reciepes they print in the monthy newsletter/advertisement. You can try most of the items featured w/o spending bookoo bucks and then hating it. Personally I wish they would expand their choice of products to give Wal-Mart a run. I would glady choose HEB over "Hell Mart" any day! read more

We had the absolute worst experience here tonight. On our way to work we stopped by to get plates of food- it's a healthier alternative to nearby fast food and we didn't have time to cook at home. I ordered the paleo plate: it comes with two meats, a side of coleslaw, and a side salad. They were out of side salads. Ok that's ok, whatever, just give me double the slaw. Slaw is technically salad, right? Right. My boyfriend ordered a brisket sandwich, and a side of potato salad (also technically salad, absolutely). When we got to the checkout, my boyfriends card for some reason wasn't working- even though he has money in his account. The gal at the register said "oh this happened earlier today, I don't know why it's doing this", so he tried several more times, and she explained all of the transactions may or may not show up on his account. What?? Are we getting charged or aren't we? And then in the end it wouldn't accept the card at all, so I had to run out to the car to get my wallet. By the time I was done doing that, we didn't have time to sit down and eat. My card worked. She gave us our drink cups. All was done. ...but then we get over to the drink station, and the entire drink machine is out of order, the ice machine is empty, and there is literally nothing but sweet tea. The lemonade was empty as well. Sooooo.... Why did she even charge us for drinks that she knew we couldn't get?? We didn't have time to get back in line to try to get our money back, we had to go to work. Had to eat our food on the drive, with nothing to drink, and still aren't sure if the card was charged 3x or not. Waste of time. Waste of money. Highly disappointed in the service and experience altogether. read more

Beyond annoyed! This is about the 5th time in as many months that H-E-B curbside forgets items. Most of the time it's one or two items but last month all of my produce was missing and I received someone else's produce and deli. Today they forgot Serrano peppers and jalapeños. You would think just have them refund the dollar. Last time I did that it took a week for the refund. So here I go AGAIN back to the store to pick up my missing items. Yes, I've complained but nothing happens they just say sorry. H-E-B, why I paying an extra percentage and $4.95 for convenience when this is the most inconvenient thing?! When you first walk in, there is a small cafe with flat-screen tv's and free WI-FI where you can have fresh sandwiches made or grab a bucket of delicious seasoned grilled chicken with sides for dinner. You'll also be tempted by the free samples and dessert cakes. They have a huge selection of organic vegetables and fruits and even offer fruit squeezing and already bottled juice...straight from the fruit! Not to mention the rolls, bread, cakes, sushi, fresh tortillas and tortilla chips (grab the pre-made guacamole, it is to die for), and a small deli with nachos and cold drinks. They also sell clothing items, shoes, toiletries, purses, jewelry, TOYS, decorating items, and linen items such as comforters, sheets and small blankets. You'll see a lot of "bling" here. I picked up a really cute, inexpensive pair of flats. 8$! What the?? The meat and seafood section is wonderful. We love to pick up the turkey wrapped bacon kabobs to throw on the grill. They are amazing! They also sell anything from Angus steakburgers to seasoned chicken pieces. This place is extremely clustered. I'd recommend going early in the morning and avoiding the after work rush. It turns into a madhouse at that point. Be warned, they never have enough registers open and people are usually ticked off. Don't be afraid to throw an elbow at the grandma who just hit your heels with her cart. (Totally kidding). read more

I'm going against the grain here and saying how much I hate this place. I'm pretty sure the 'Plus' just means, "plus lots of crap." Unless you're looking for cheap clothes or a horse calendar you're not going to find it here. And even for that stuff you're better off going to Walmart across the street. The selection of actual grocery items is terrible. But they sure do have lots of it. It's a mystery to me how such a large store can so often not have what I'm looking for. Regular HEBs have better variety -- the new one off of Babcock, for example. Unfortunately the only other nearby options for groceries for me is a couple Walmarts or another HEB further away. Man, I miss regular grocery stores. Gimme a Safeway any day over this chain. Better savings too. read more

Ummm.... This was my first visit to an H-E-B and hopefully my last. I guess the concept is "one stop" shopping....but they fail miserably in appeal, presentation, customer service, and selection. I walked through pots, pans, children's clothes and pet food, before eventually getting to what I needed. Not one employee acknowledged me or asked if they could help!!! It just seems like things are everywhere with no order, the prices are not that reasonable and it was just not anything like what I expected. I would go to Walmart or Target and avoid the H-E-B all together. read more

There is a lot going on in here...that just means there are a lot of different options...I prefer the Grilled Chicken/BBQ counter...the food is not just there it is pretty good. Used the HEB delivery service today. They delivered my groceries with in the timeframe of one hour. Staff from my HEB are always friendly, and carries on outside of the store. Fernando delivered our groceries and he was very helpful and respectful. Will be using this service more often, because it's more convenient. read more

I get to visit my fiancee's family in San Antonio only every six months or so. Every time I make sure to stop back by the HEB Plus at Potranco. Store #85. They regularly stock a difficult to find beer called Kalik. It's from the Bahamas. I'm from Florida and up to the early Aught's, the only way you could have Kalik was by going to the Bahamas. They didn't export it. We'd bring cases of it back by boat. For about 2 months in 2012, Champagne Bevg in Louisiana was carrying Kalik but then they stopped. So imagine my surprise and delight when I saw Kalik at HEB. We were scheduled to be in town for Memorial Day weekend so on the Wednesday before the weekend I called the HEB Plus at Potranco to see if I could ask the Beverage Manager to special-order in extra Kalik for me. I spoke with Susanna, gave her my phone number and within a couple hours she called me back to say she had six cases on order and they'd be waiting for me in a buggy at 12:01 sharp on Sunday. We got to meet her and say hello. Susanna was helpful and friendly and very knowledgable. It's this kind of superior customer service that will guarantee I'm a loyal HEB fan for life. read more

Pharmacy drive thru extremely slow 25+ minutes to help two cars. Went inside to pick up scripts. The guy running the drive thru was just pacing back & forth . Erin Assistant Manager said they can't help it cuz people want to use multiple coupons or have problems with their insurance. The drive thru is not meant to be fast it is for people who can't get out of their car. The 2nd lane has been broken several times over the last month but they have to wait for someone to come out to fix it. How about instead of all the excuses just apologizing for wasting their customers time. Contact the corporate office & get someone to fix the second lane. read more

They have a great selection... the bakery rocks, the store is clean, almost clean enough to eat off the floor (although I don't recommend doing so), the employees are great and always helpful!!!
