I'll start off with the positives, the store has a large selection of foods and various meats. Clean and organized for most part. Service not sure about since I never received any other than the cashier. Ambience can be hectic depending on timing, it can get busy. I suggest go early and not later in day or you have a traffic jam of people in your way blocking isles. They have a wide selection of things and prices are ok. I do like their H-E-B brands a lot. Now the negatives. Sushi isn't that great, not sure why they even try if they're not going to make it right. For example, they give you 1 tiny piece of ginger and barely any wasabi... what? It doesn't cost much and the taste is so bland you need that for flavor and they choose not to give you any. Now when you get to the register if you pay by card you have to swipe it at least 11 times, not kidding. I asked if it was just me and they assured me it was normal and happens to everyone... so they know the issue yet they don't replace the system. Where I come from if something is broke, you fix it. +1 star for wide selection, +1 star for cleanliness, and +1 star for large meat selection. -1 star for selling bad ground beef. -1 star for inconvenience when checking out with a large line building behind you because you're swiping your card 11 times. read more

So! I had a Scammer call me! I had a call from the HEB Headquarters Fraud Department. The number showed up as the phone number for HEB that I had placed as an HEB Contact on my iPhone Contact List! . So it looked legitimate and I answered. The "Women" asked if I had used my HEB Visa Card recently. She claimed that they suspected that my Visa Card number had been compromised! I was born on a Wednesday but NOT last Wednesday! We don't have a Visa Card with HEB. So I said that to her and stated that this call must be a Scammer call! She hung up immediately! I called HEB AND TALKED to the real Fraud Department and gave them the story! What happens is Scammers "Spoof" the telephone numbers from Banks, Credit Unions and other business so when you see it on your phone it looks legitimate! Spoof means the Scammers capture the phone numbers somehow. Be aware and don't give out any information over the phone! read more

I was physically assaulted by the H‑E‑B home delivery driver who arrived at my home intoxicated after delivering my groceries to the wrong house on a completely different street. Because I defended myself and told the driver to get off of my property, someone alleging to be a store manager at this location (Debbie) said that I will be restricted from using H‑E‑B home delivery because I made the delivery driver who assaulted me "uncomfortable". I am a disabled veteran and home bound. I have video from my neighbor on the other street of the driver leaving my groceries at her home and leaving them. Returning for them after several minutes and video from my home security system showing the driver almost run me over in my driveway and attempt to punch me with a closed fist from the open window on the H‑E‑B delivery vehicle. He started yelling at me for "living in the wrong house and causing problems for his GPS". Blocked his drunken punch and told him to "get the F@$& off of my property". I had H‑E‑B customer service on the phone at the time. Today, Monday, February 17, 2025, around 1:00 p.m., I again went to the Flaming Bird HEB located at 10718 Potranco Rd. My family and I have been customers of this HEB for many years. I would never have imagined writing a bad review of HEB since I am aware of the support this company provides to the community. Thank you very much! However, I will not continue to ignore the poor customer service that Persefeni, an employee of Flaming Bird, has repeatedly provided to me and my family. Persefeni has given me dirty looks on multiple occasions and responds to me in an unfriendly manner. In addition, she dares to criticize me while I see her from afar, saying things about me to other employees (I cannot hear what she says, but I do see the angry gestures she makes). All of this has been happening for a few months now. From the day I went to buy chicken combos and asked her to serve me some fresher macaroni and cheese (not dry like the ones they were serving). That's why she got mad at me. Also, I asked her to put a little more cheese on the macaroni and cheese and she refused to do that too. I assumed that was left behind. But it's not. That's why, today, I decided to write this public review. So that someone from the company knows what's going on and does something. Today, February 17th, when I went to buy a chicken combo, Persefeni didn't want to serve me (she was serving another customer, and I was next). Instead of serving me, she turned around and went to True Texas BBQ to say things about me to another worker (again, I saw her making angry gestures and looking dirty). Then, the other worker came to serve me. This behavior from this employee makes me feel humiliated (because I am offended by the fact that she helped another person who was there before me and did not help me), embarrassed (because she is talking about me to the other employees), and leaves me in a bad mood. Please, I would like my opinion to be taken seriously because I will continue to go to this HEB to shop. I would not like to continue to have to endure these irresponsible acts and/or poor service from this employee. This causes me stress, offends me, and embarrasses me. H‑E‑B is definitely my go to grocery store but I also use the bakery for last minute birthday cake purposes. The bakery is quick with helping you out and I never have had issues with them. Our favorite to buy is the Oreo cake- absolutely delicious. The other desserts on display are very beautifully decorated and I'm sure just as delicious. read more

Hiyah!!!! my yelping family....allow me to talk about a grocery store that is near and dear to my heart BUT first let me give you some information about parking. This location is quite popular because the lot is ALWAYS packed BUT never fear the people who work there will get you in and out as soon as possible. I will say 1 thing for sure its BIG so you wont drive past it and if you go down further there are other stores to shop in as well as a NEW Costco but lets get back to HEB! I LOVE the pharmacy people there...they are friendly.....HELPFUL and FULL OF GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE....I mean even down to the managers and supervisors. You have problem? They will indeed help you solve your issue. I will say when I left CVS I was in tears and by the time I finished talking to HEB my frown was upside down and I was back to being happy...so much so I am transferring ALL my perscriptions to them and have accepted them as my new home. I routinely visit this HEB Plus Sunday morning around 6:30am, & almost always encounter Manager John out inspecting parking lot as he rounds on the gas station & car wash. Today I engaged him with my observation that I usually am able to collect 2-4 aluminum cans from parking lot for recycling, but of late none. He said he had taken care of that problem previously & offered to assist my efforts to recycle as best he could in the future, asked a couple ?s, & was on his way. When I got back to my car after shopping, there was another aluminum can, crushed, right by my driver door. I was much impressed. Affable, responsive, energetic (grass does not grow under his feet), vigilant, & seemingly omnipresent - struck me as being a good Manager. Customer service is for the most part excellent, just a few bad apples here and there, but what is that smell in the store here lately? please, do something about that horrible smell, I got sick from it today, around the cold area, produce, meat, and almost throughout, it spreads. it smells like rotten milk, or throw up. The Mia's Mirror Boutique in the middle of the store means that I can buy something cute like a planner or some jewelry or a shirt or something else I don't need in between filling my cart with blocks of cheese, chicken nuggets, and other things that cause heart disease. But I jest. (Sort of) The lack of the fifth star is due to a couple things: 1. I was recently devastated by the removal of the "plant farm" to make way for the curbside center. While I'm grateful for this location getting some curbside to alleviate the lack of parking, WHY DID MY PRETTY PLANTS AND FLOWERS HAVE TO GO?!?! I completely understand that sometimes we can't have it all and if pretty plants and flowers aren't selling like hot cakes, then it makes sense, but . . . flowers . . . ! Devastated! 2. The lack of parking. That really is not H-E-B's fault, though. Popularity does this. Also, the city's ill-advised "solution" for Potranco. I was at HEB plus this morning shopping. When I got home these items were not in my bags. I called and went back to store , after already being there about 1 1/2 hours . When I got to the store a guy named Jared#9 , I told him and showed my receipt that these items were missing. He looked at it and said well these were not to expensive so HE B will pay for them. For one he didn't offer to go and reshop for these items , I had to! Also regardless of how inexpensive they were , I didn't receive but paid for, I was going to get reimbursed either way. It also has a selection of other services available; for instance, I can register my vehicle here, or get a yard sale permit. They have an outstanding butcher, their meat department is superb. As is common now in large grocery stores, they offer demos with samples of their products. I don't often stray from my list of needs, but I have done so here more than most places I shop. Used to love going here and the upper management is still pretty great but every other employee especially at registers are kids, and seem to be insufficient in training and communicating. I asked the register girl can I swipe my card because the new card readers have been bending my debit card as of late, she just stared at me and I said can I swipe it and she says it has to fail first and I said so let the transaction fail or keep trying I don't understand? Again just staring at me. Finally it allows me to just swipe it and I ask her are you not used to people asking about different ways a card can pay, and she just says have a good day with attitude and I get it you deal with alotta people I'm sure but if you're on the clock getting paid and I'm just asking for help or don't know what I'm doing, then isn't their job to help? I'll just order or start going to Costco. I'd recommend doing the same if you're tired of the crowds and people. So much has changed in the last years and not for the better. read more

I felt right at home!!! I visited the store around 10 pm and was mesmerized by all that they have to offer. There is so much embedded into these walls. We have HEB at home, but not like this one. This HEB offers everything any other HEB would have to offer plus a bunch of other departments (i.e. Electronics, shoes, workout, home decor, baby, toy, etc.). They even have an integrated boutique that sells Kate Spade items! I was so impressed with their selection. I was able to turn back the clock and take a trip down memory lane. I felt like I'd hit the jackpot when I found the candy and chips I once consumed as a child!!! I bought some sushi. It was fresh, huge and very reasonably priced compared to the sushi being served at other HEB locations I've visited. They have a lot of different hot and prepared foods to offer. Among the things I eyed was a dozen of tamales for $6.99. Not bad!!! I can't speak for the taste though because I didn't purchase them. Outside you can find a typical Hispanic snack shack serving corn and mayo with the works. It was closed when I got there. Otherwise, I probably would've bought a cup on the way to my car. I will definitely be back to this HEB the next time I visit SA! read more
