This is the first HEB Plus I've ever been to and I really liked it. Such a huge selection of Meal Simple meals, which is what I came in for. They're so good. I got one with potatoes and feta cheese and it was the best one I've had yet. Even had some vegetarian/vegan options. I needed a new toothbrush but didn't really know the store layout yet, so I asked a man stocking the shelves and he was very friendly. I didn't have a lot of time to look around because they were closing soon, but I'll be back. read more

Beware of Cashier #15. Lacks Customer Service Skills and would rather start an argument with you then to apologize or provide options. I was growing a little impatient due to the customer in front of me not having a coupon. Customer went to look for one, comes back, and yet no coupon. Cashier asked if she had the HEB app, customer says no. Cashier then uses her phone to get the coupon, I assume, but calls for a manager. Manager then calls someone on the radio, moments later the manager states to the cashier, she will go find one and departs the area. After some time she returns and completes the transaction. The cashier must have noticed that I was over it, her response was "you are welcome to go to another line". Wow, unbelievable. I told her not to start with me, and her response was, "Don't START with me". Apparently she would rather start an argument than to simply do her job. At that point, I have said to myself, "Never wrestle with a pig, you'll both get dirty, and pig likes it ". I just told, lets get this done. Incident on November 27, 2021 @ around 7:15pm. Seems like employees need som coffee this morning. I understand its busy because there is a line wrapped around the store for curbside. However, there seems to be no hurry for employees, don't get me wrong but very few are hustling, all I can say the worst one is girl with Pink-ish Indian print headband it litterally dragging her feet. I am trying to make a living as well and waiting here from 8:12am until 9am is absolutely unbelievable. I think im being nice given that I gave 2 stars. PLEASE Do better. read more

Delia in the Bakery went above and beyond my my cake request. The original person who decorated it messed up on it and the image came out terrible. When I went to pick it up I noticed it and asked Delia if she could just touch it up and she redid the entire cake and made it beautiful!! Thank you Delia!! My whole life I have grocery shopped at HEB and one thing I learned very early on is that you can always count on the amazing customer service. Not Today though. I stopped by the HEB gas station and just minutes after my car wouldn't start mind you I am 8 months pregnant and it was so hot this morning!! naturally I was overwhelmed I wait a couple minutes before I call for help. The lady working the pumps proceeds to walk up to my car and ask if I was having car troubles which to I replied "Yes, my car wont start" I kid you not this HEB employee continues to tell me that I need to move asap and that I cant be parked there (this was after I told her my car wouldn't start" she then suggested that I ask random men who were also Pumping gas for help constantly pestering me to move knowing that in that moment there was absolutely nothing that I can do I proceeded to roll up my window and ignore her. Although, I will mention that another young lady also working in the little both came out and offered me a water for that I was so thankful. She was so kind. My point is dont be an ass to people, especially a woman who is very pregnant, emotional and swollen!! read more

for how huge this place is there are plenty of staff keeping it organized, clean, and stocked, constant shuffle, plenty to choose from, lots of fresh bars made to order, but also bulk options, prices are very reasonable, seasonal products, variety of brands, one stop shopping, bouquet of flowers are beautiful and long lasting, NOTE west side aisles by cheese are for 15 or less then middle is for selfcheck under ten items, then east side by bathrooms and frozen food are for baskets w more than 15 items read more

Really no excuse for the continuing level of out of stock items daily/weekly/monthly ongoing. Gabe in curbside is a joke. A sad representation of H‑E‑B. Never have I dealt with someone so rude. The H‑E‑B in Kyle, Texas is a joke. I spend so much money doing delivery (because I'm 9 months pregnant and we're in the middle of a freaking pandemic)... to ALWAYS have my orders wrong you send a text saying I have substitutions but not what they are... so I type call. NO ONE EVER CALLS. I have learned your staff doesn't know how to follow up, so I have started to call them. You know, trying to be proactive... IT STILL DOESN'T WORK. I literally spoke with someone tonight told them two of the substation picked were not okay and requested something different... went through the rest... they assured me they would go correct, but oh guess what.... THEY DID NOT. I still got the items I specifically said I did not want and could not use. I'm literally missing something from every planned dinner this week - so I'm unable to cook dinner for my family. I'm missing stuff for my sons lunches. I pay a premium for a service I have to do so much leg work on it's a freaking joke. I wish there was competition in Kyle or that I wasn't 9 months pregnant or we weren't in the middle of a pandemic. Answer me this, why offer a service if you can't properly follow through?! ---- Follow up. Man oh man... waiting for hours for a response that was promised... then they have "Gabe" the "curbside manager" call me. He was SO BEYOND RUDE. Love the grocery and butcher. Just had a negative experience getting cupcakes ordered for a party... the photo cupcakes looked like a 5 year old cut them out (angled scissor cuts on a circular photo topper) which is definitely not what I expected if cupcake toppers were offered for purchase. Too late to order anything different since they were for a party, but learned my lesson and will be going to a specialist bakery. I could have made these myself unfortunately and also made them look better quality as well. read more

When you wait 45 minutes and barely move in the check out line and when you see all of the lines backing up with scores of people, you tend to wonder why. When I finally got to the check out line, they checker apologized to me and said they ''ran out of grocery sacks.'' Well, this H‑E‑B and possibly the whole chain needs improvement. Today, I tried an in-store coupon. The one where you clip it on your phone. It was for $5 off a $50 or more purchase. Mine qualified. I got a bar code, but then closed the app. When I went to check out, the bar code disappeared and was replaced with a number. The clerk could not get the bar code back on my phone and keying in the number did not work. He tried several times while the line behind me got larger and more impatient. What is funny, the lady in front of me had almost he exact problem. Well, the clerk got the supervisor and he fixed the problem. Was the supervisor called for me? No. The clerk said he was baffled and knew of now way to get it to work. He gave up so I did. They way I see it is H‑E‑B owes me $5 and an apology. read more

We thought we'd try this HEB-Plus in Kyle during this COVID-19 moment since Hays Co. has fewer cases of the virus and the South Austin HEBs we normally shop at are very crowded, with lines to get in and many empty shelves. And greater exposure to the plague. Well, I don't think the drive was worth it, the experience certainly left a lot to be desired. The store is a vast warehouse that reminded me of similar stores in Austin, only more aisle space, which is nice, but the selection is worse than our usual stores and seems more "lowest common denominator", like a Costco or Walmart, not as many frills or organics or off-brand items to choose from. The fresh fish section was dismal, and the lights were dark thee and there was no one working behind the display -- how is one supposed to make a purchase? There are still a lot of holes on the shelves and check-out was slow and brutal -- we found many items when we got home crushed thru sloppy handling and careless bagging and one was broken so badly during check-out they had to fetch a replacement. Today we found that a carton of milk had also been so badly crushed on the bottom corner it was slow-leaking in the fridge. Cali M. needs to stop slinging around people's groceries like hockey pucks. We were also unhappy to see a number of items on shelves with NO PRICES posted -- what is the deal with that? Do they make it up at check out? We just didn't put anything in the cart that we couldn't see a price posted for. The virus effects are manifest in lack of cleaning supplies, sanitizers -- at least there was plenty of toilet paper! -- and many of the specialty areas or boutiques were closed. (When will we ever be allowed to buy whole bean fresh coffee again?) We were very upset to see that at best half the customers wore masks. This shows a supreme selfishness and lack of concern for others, I don't care what the Hays Co. mandates allow or don't allow. Travis Co. is behaving much more sensibly in this public health crisis, as are Austin shoppers. Very little attention paid to social distancing either. I would prefer not to shop among a crowd of ignorant or oblivious people so I think we'll be giving this store a pass from now on. But it was a learning experience. There's also a pretty darned crowded and hard-to-navigate parking lot to boot. read more

The ease of parking at this location is so much easier than San Marcos. I live in San Marcos but prefer to drive up here over fighting for a parking spot. The selection is the same as the San Marcos H-E-B plus. read more

It's been 3 weeks since the winter storm hit and I still feel like HEB can't get it together with stocking items. My Instacart shoppers constantly have to replace and sub items because things are out of stock. They message me photos of empty shelves. It's really gotten ridiculous at this point. This morning my shopper couldn't locate ANY fresh tortillas. No excuse for shortages to go on for this long and it also makes Instacart shoppers frustrated. I happy pay a huge markup and at least a $50 tip multiple times a week to have my items delivered and HEB is constantly out of basic things. I really wish we could see an end to the HEB monopoly in Kyle and get a Randall's, Whole Foods or something else as an option. Walmart is nightmare so that's out. Come on HEB...get it together. read more

I get used to where things are then the change up the whole store for a crappy cooler section that I never see anyone in or no reason. They don't offer hand baskets so I either have to get a huge cart or just buy what I can carry. This place is as big as Texas! It's a huge grocery store right along I-35. It's a cheap place to stop off for groceries on the road between San Marcos and Austin. This place has everything you need. For those who are unaware, HEB Plus is like a mix between a grocery store and a Wal-Mart, but much, much better! The coolest thing about HEB Plus is that they offer all the local flavors in their food. The Kyle area is known for its BBQ, so it has a wide variety of BBQ sauces, charcoal, and even grills! They've got the spatulas, brushes, and all the accessories you could possibly need. The produce section here is huge! They have their own little bakery there in the store, and crank out their own fresh bread and tortillas. Parking is easy with a huge lot, and lots of other shadow stores in the same complex. I really appreciate this HEB- it's a great place to stop in and out of right along the freeway. read more

Best grocery store in the area, which lends to a very crowded Saturday grocery trip. I can't say enough good things. Grocery delivery through Shipt, and soon, with Favor. Or, you can use curb-side pick-up, which I'm not a huge fan of (I don't feel the shoppers are great at selecting the best fruit, best cuts of meat, etc.). Every register is open at busy times, though they could stand to add registers. I give them 5 stars, despite a few dings because they are well-stocked, friendly, fast at check out, and organized. read more

I have been a long time customer of HEB in New Braunfels but I recently started going to nursing school in Kyle and decided to go to this location to pick up a few things on my way home. I walk in to the Exit because the entrance and Exit doors are spaced far apart and I almost expected there to be some sort of basket drop off. But it was basically was just a free for all, very unorganized and chaotic. I grabbed a basket. I'm 24 I'm 5'1 and weigh 100 pounds. These baskets are so big it went up to my chest. Was difficult to navigate around isles and if the baskets are going to be bigger the isles need to be spaced farther apart. The Curbside carts were completely in the way of everything and took up most of the isles. The isles were also pretty much out of everything and everything was pretty dis organized. I went to the vegetable section and there were absolutely no bags to put the vegetables in on sight everyone was scrambling around trying to find them. Apples were mixed with oranges... it was a mess. I go to check out in the 10 items of less self check out and there's a long line but I figured it would move pretty fast. I was wrong. I waited longer in that line that I would've in a normal one just because the employees were talking and laughing and not telling people which machines were open, or carding people/helping people out with the self check out machines. Worst experience I've ever had at an HEB. Hopefully they'll learn but I do not plan to go back to this location. read more

This review is over HEB Go App. H-E-B Go is AWESOME. If you don't like lines, use HEB Go, seriously. This HEB has the HEB Go App capabilities and the employees at the Go station are very helpful and informative if you need them to be or will let you do your thing if you know the procedure. Anyways, the app is awesome. You load your card information on the app. When you get close to the HEB, the store pops up on your App "shopping cart" and you just start scanning as you walk through the store. When you are done, you walk up to the designated counter, press shopping cart, then check out, scan the QR code that is on the check out screen and then scan any coupons on the counter. Then. Done. THATS IT! You walk out. It also has bags at this station to bag up your stuff before you head out if you don't have reusable bags. Awesome concept and it works! read more

Well, I had written a review, but apparently unfavorable reviews get deleted. So I will try again and hope that the review is not censored. This HEB is horrible. You can't find a damn thing and it is designed for you to wander around searching for essential items. A mean old man stands at the doorway and looks the other way when customers walk up - does not even greet them or say 'thank you for shopping here.' And a checker would slam around your carrying basket if you did not do things her way. HEB corporate needs to come out and change the astmosphere at this store. I have a slight HEB problem. Probably not as severe as Errol M.'s, but it's still bad. I love HEB. I love grocery shopping. So it pains me to not love this HEB. They have everything and then some. We really didn't need to go this far out of the way since we have an HEB less than 2 miles away from us, but it's big. And who doesn't like big? It makes grocery shopping take a little longer, but there's so much STUFF to look at it! They had whole dead pig heads. They had a crap ton of random kitchen stuff that you want to buy, but would probably only use once. They had a crap load of baby stuff. I don't have a baby, but we looked anyways. We spent more than a necessary amount of time here. We probably would have closed it down, but the nugget was becoming unbearable. Cue checkout..... Now, I am one of those people who do everything in my power to make sure that I'm not making someone else's job harder. I'm polite as possible without being fake, etc. We had a crapload of food stuffs, and I wanted the sodas in the liter bottles to be brown bagged to make it easier for the designated unloader/loader (myself) to carry. So, sodas are bagged, and said cashier asks if I want paper or plastic for the remainder of the checkout. I tell her to go ahead and use whichever is easiest for them, and she repeats the question. Ummmm, okay, paper will work. Easier to carry and obviously recyclable. I might as well have asked for them to chauffeur me home and unload the groceries themselves. Eye rolling, sighing, slamming, and the like were what we received in return. The cashier whipped the chip bags across the scanner, crunching them, and threw them haphazardly to the bagger and was silent the rest of the time. I think it made their night for us to finally get out of her line. Like for real? What did I do? Not cool HEB, not cool. I guess we'll take our fancy brown baggin' a**es over to the Brodie store next time around. Psssssh. read more

She was talking to the girl that was bagging the groceries and her name was Racheal. Racheal had to tell her I was there and Carol just kept her conversation going with Racheal. I know it is early and not many people in the store that early but dang how about a Good morning! Racheal ignored what she was saying and greeted me. She also was the one that told me thank you and have a good day. Maybe Racheal should be the cashier and Carol M the bagger because she has not customer service skills what so ever!! read more

I don't get this place. It's just too damn big. I have been twice now when visiting friends and it takes forever to find ANYTHING. It's too crowded. What should be a 10 minute shopping trip can take 45 minutes to and hour. Circle C's HEB isn't even this bad. Does HEB really need to emulate a Wal-Mart? REALLY? As RVB says below the lay-out sucks. Target and Wal-mart have the right idea typically with groceries on one side and everything else on the other. Still love Central Market, my HEB of choice when available. Really don't like the store, and although the people are nice, no one goes out of their way to help you. The store itself is laid out oddly, and not even the people who work there know where stuff is. Takes me way too long to get through grocery shopping. Are you kidding me?!?! This is an awesome store! Very cheap but very quality at the same time! Named for a guy with the last name BUTTS, insert childish humor here. They really have pride in what they do and merch the best way they can in their largest PLUS format. In their PLUS stores you can find a wide variety of on-the-go foods, natural foods, olive bar, you name it. They could seriously give Whole Paycheck I mean Whole Foods a run for their money! They even carried an impressive selection of this great zero calorie product that has saved my skinny neck a variety of times! I LOVE HEB, but I HATE this location. 1. Store layout... Yes they want you to have to walk all over the store and drip salmonella chicken juice all over the place. Three major cold items (meat, produce, deli meat) are at the start of the store. While the frozen, milk, and part of the dairy section are elsewhere, name the other side of the store. 2. Employees, oh man oh man, Dude, distracted, it's like you are interrupting them. Maybe I was spoiled by the big HEB in San Marcos. There the nice man working the deli knew who I was and was happy to help. Even remembering what I liked. I should also note I go early on a week day for the most part. I'm not even going to talk about the store when it's busy. I'll drive to to Buda I can get in and out of there a lot faster with a better experience. read more

So this location is too big for my liking, but I understand why they made this location so big. Does have a healthy living dept, jewerly store in the middle of the store, electronic area, garden area and more. Always busy no matter the time of day and so be prepared for lines when checking out. The food area.. hot area is good. Rotisserie chicken (1/2 lb) with 2 sides $5.99 plate is a steal. I love coming here for this food.. They even give you a whole jalapeno with your meal! The produce section isn't bad, but I will say the organics are more expensive then i am used too ( I live in Austin with more options available), and check the bags of apples too. They don't always rotate their produce well, so don't assume it is all good. The customer service has never been an issue and I have always found someone when I needed them. This location does not do combo locos because they are in a "richer" area, but they do do coupons. They have had awesome sales on Applegate lately.
