Small expensive health food. It has most healthy options your looking for but I still prefer bigger chains like "sprouts"

For most general items I do go to the big HEB, but I love that this place is available to me.

There are places you visit... and then there are places that feel like they've been quietly waiting…read morefor you to find them. Solidago is the latter. The moment you walk in, you can feel it--this isn't just a shop, it's a living, breathing creation. Every shelf, every scent, every thoughtfully placed detail feels intentional and curated with a level of care that's honestly rare to come by these days. If you're drawn to apothecary, the esoteric, the intellectual, the beautifully strange--this place is a dream. Not in a trendy, surface-level way... but in a deep, rooted, soul-nourishing kind of way. And Wade... You can tell this space is a labor of love. Wade hasn't just built a store--he's created an experience. One that honors knowledge, craft, and curiosity. There's a quiet brilliance to it. Nothing feels rushed or mass-produced. It feels studied. Respected. Lived in. You don't just browse here--you linger. You explore. You ask questions. You notice things you didn't expect to notice. It invites you to slow down, to connect, to be present in a way most retail spaces simply don't. It's rare to find a place that feels both intellectually stimulating and energetically grounding at the same time--but somehow, this one does exactly that. San Marcos is lucky to have it. Truly. If you appreciate intention, depth, and beauty in all its forms... go. Take your time. Let yourself get lost in it. Some places you shop at. This one, you experience.

I tried to find something "different" to avoid the lunch rush. What better than the side cafe in a Thai market? As hoped, it more than met the expectations. You turn left in the market and order from the cashier. There's some paper menus. Then you go to the other side and find a seat. Shortly afterwards this older gentleman will deliver the most amazing Thai meal you can imagine. Oh man, it almost makes me wish I get called up on jury duty again. I went with a classic Pad Thai lunch menu. Came with a wonderful spring role and some soup. Both were excellent. The Pad Thai was just insanely good. It's been about 20 years since I've been to Thailand so maybe my taste buds are aged, but it made me think I was back. If you ever want a great, hidden gem of Asian food - you have got to try this place out.

I pretty much ordered the whole menu back then... now recently I went back with my friends. It is still the way I remember it! You order at the counter and you can go around the supermarket waiting for your food The sweetest old man was doing the service at the tables. Every time he came around I wanted to get up and give him a hug! It definitely doesn't feel like Texas or even the US... even the drinks you can grab them from the cooler are Asian! I wish i lived closer I would go on a weekly basis!

They name everything weird, off the Thai standards, so if you order pineapple fried rice, you actually get "stir fried pineapple, with rice" and "pad kee mao", an extremely common noodle dish, arrives as "kee mao," a rice dish. They make no effort to try to clarify, understand, or making things rice. And the food is fine and overpriced. There are way better thai places in town, with far better service. Go there, please. If you're going to charge $20 for a rice dish, at least try to get it right and stand by your product.
