The gorgeous outdoor patio H. Cheval Coffee, is lined with colorful flowers, shaded by aged trees, and with a tranquil fountain bubbling in the background, softly welcoming patrons in. The coffee shop itself had an odd aroma when I visited that was not so pleasant and a bit off-putting. My friend wanted a chai latte, but upon asking the cashier, we were informed they were all out of chai. Throughout the interior photography of various horses elegantly prance across the walls. I had an iced americano, which was expensive and not so luxurious to the taste. I made the decision to travel through the entryway, then sipped on my drink outside on the enchanting patio, and enjoyed a fine conversation while avoiding the heat of the day. read more

The lavender latte with almond milk - just get it. SOOOOOOO good. Perfectly balanced and smooth and not too sweet. It was one of the best lavender lattes I've had. I will say it was hot as hell in the store. The doors were open and outside patio was packed. I have no clue how the staff work in there when it's so hot. Food: Okay so... this actually might be one of the best lattes and cappuccinos that I've had.... -Regular hot latte with almond milk ($6= $5 + $1 extra for almond milk) -Cappuccino with almond milk ($5.50 = $4.50 + $1 extra for almond milk) -Both drinks were sooo creamy, smooth, and delicious; they used their "let's ride" espresso beans that day. As far as their food items go, they offer some baked goods. First time in Paso and stopped by here for some coffee! It seemed pretty busy so I was very hopeful that it be good coffee and it did not disappoint. I wish I knew our cashiers name as he was so enthusiastic and friendly which really adds to a good experience. Visiting the coast, we stopped by this coffee shop while stopping through Paso. My husband got a hot latte and it was good but once I got my iced matcha infused with lavender, he wanted my drink. The gal that made it, made it perfectly! Not overly sweet or bitter. I craved another one and wanted to stop again on the way home. Unfortunately, my husband is like a horse to the barn! A lovely coffee shop in the Paso Robles next to a very antique hotel. The staff is very lovely and delicious pastries. We tried the hot latte with a butter croissant. Coffee was really good. Quite busy in the morning so I'm not the only one who thinks so but they got us all our coffee in record time.

This spot is very well decorated. It's simple and tasteful. There is seating both indoors and outdoors including an adorable patio with live plants and a fountain. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They're also quick to answer questions and create the beverage you want. I ordered a coconut vanilla honey steamer. I loved that it had a great deal of foam but was a little bit disappointed in the honey vanilla aspect of the drink. I felt it could've been a little bit more bold. The pricing is a little high, which you can expect right off of the square and organic. Overall a good location with ample Street parking... Metered and by the farmers market. read more

What a delightful discovery!!! We're THRILLED to find it and be there this morning for a little "birthday celebration" for two. Truly lovely inside (as it was still nippy and foggy outside). Lovely classic chill tunes playing, a very cheerful & kind counter staff, DELICIOUS coffee (one latte and one cap)... very nice "leather?" covered chairs, clean, charming as can be! We stayed two hours and observed every guest was warmly welcomed. On our way out, the outdoor patio was so inviting with a fountain babbling, sun streaming onto the courtyard and where we'll try next time!! So much more "customer" friendly without the high-noise-level and hustle. Across from the Movie Theatre on Pine and Paso Terra. I'm on the hunt for cafes in Paso Robles that I can work from and H. Cheval is my most recent find! The corner seat near the window is super comfortable and has tons of room for me to layout my computer, notebooks, and water bottle. My go to order is a vanilla latte and the ham croissant, which are so good together! I love that this coffee shop is right in the downtown Paso square, close to other shops and restaurants. I've never had an issue with parking but could see it being a problem more so on the weekends. read more

H. Chevalier Coffee is a really cute coffee shop that reminds me of something in New Orleans, near the French Quarter. It has that vibe. Especially the outdoor seating. It's quiet, intimate and feels off the beaten path, even though it's near the park. We ordered a run-of-the-mill Almond Milk Vanilla Latte and an off-menu Lavender Honey (?) Almond Milk Latte. Both were good. Something that I'd drink again. Good coffee. Very cool spot. Would recommend checking it out for good vibes and good coffee. read more

He was not only super friendly but explained the different notes of the Expresso beans (how I roll). The expresso was so good, I bought some of theirs beans. I will be coming back! There was only one person ahead of us and the coffee shop felt cramped because the few tables they do have, had people at them. The employees were not friendly but they were not rude. Tried every coffee shop in town and Cheval is definitely the best. I come in 2-3 times per week to work and have a nice coffee. Everything I try I end up liking. I usually get the honey vanilla latte if I want an iced coffee, or a mocha if I want hot coffee. And the pastries are awesome.. chocolate croissant and orange cranberry muffin... .
