One star for their registers. Don't use any gift cards and don't get store credit for anything because their registers don't ever read the cards correctly and money is somehow lost. The workers aren't helpful or sympathetic and act like you're trying to pull a fast one and just brush you off. The least they could have done was try the card on another register instead of accusing me of lying about the gift card the first time and then again with store credit but they wouldn't even attempt. This has been an ongoing cycle since I first got my giftcard in December. One charity star bc the location is super convenient and easy to access. The store is huge but they don't carry anything worth getting most times since it's an outlet store...which is why I'm in the same boat 3 months later trying to find something worth spending the rest of my store credit on! As convenient as it is as soon as I get my money back I won't be coming back. Too many headaches trying to make simple purchases with gift cards and store credit they issue themselves! read more

Customer service here is the worse. Thomas, a supposed manager, wouldn't honor a merchandise credit telling me it couldn't be used in stores and that customer service confirmed that. I come here often; pretty much every time I'm in Long Beach. I like coming to this location because they have items that other locations don't carry. I've seen plenty of clothing store exclusives such as joggers and button ups for example. The biggest selling point for me was their clearance section. They have a large selection of clothing and accessories for sale at amazing prices. My guess is that this location is used to sell last season's inventory. Whatever the case is, I can't stop myself from treating myself to new clothes every time I visit. This is probably one of my most favorite H&M locations. read more

The South Coast Plaza H&M rocks! I was excited to hear that H&M was coming to Long Beach a few month ago. We had already lost Lohmans (such a tragedy!) and then Nordstrom Rack disappeared (it's back now, at Marina Pacifica), so I was excited that we finally had a retail establishment set its roots in Long Beach. Even though, it could be in a nicer part of the LBC. Anyways, parking is a pain, if you aren't into structures and then the at times, it's impossible to find help. Customer service is obviously not at the top of their list. And, more importantly, for me, the selection is not great, and you will find more items at the South Coast Plaza store. I opened my app when I shopped and start scanning items if they're available online but instead, I found out that some items I liked are on sale online but they were regular price in-store so I asked the lady in the cashier if I can get the items I wanted for the sale price online and she said yes. H & M nice store, but it does not have enough fitting rooms. Whoever designed the infrastructure the store didn't think on it. How is possible that a big store like that, in a very busy location is going to have just two fitting rooms. It took me almost 40 minutes waiting in line to use a fitting room. No only that, they have just two cashier. I feel so bad for the associates who work in there. Defenely, the manager or owners of the store should think that customer satisfaction is priority, and in order to have it, they store should have more associates and more FITTING ROOMS!!! read more

This is a pretty big and spacious H&M.. with 2 floors! These kind of locations make me happy because not only there are more choices, but its more clean and organized; it makes for a good shopping experience. Of course there are more choices for womens, but they have a pretty huge area for mens, which is a big plus for my boyfriend because this is the only place he likes shopping for clothes. It's in the middle of the Pike so it's in a good location for locals and visitors alike. Also it doesn't get too busy around here, so I really like that (I really hate large malls haha). I went in bought some stuff and the bill was waaaay too high but I paid I checked the stuff outside because here was a big line and saw that the worker had charged me 3 times for one sweater. 3 stars mostly for proximity and the fact that the closest h&m is out in Cerritos. Came here a few weeks ago and wasn't too impressed...really didn't see any current trends. I mostly made out with some cheap printed trousers on sale and some basic tops from the 2 for 10 section. I didn't realize at the time that this was an outlet! So now that makes sense. In all its still okay if you need some cheap basics, maybe things will be better for fall. Daughter is a CSULB freshman that went to beach with bf to ride rental bikes and then stopped by this store among others. She was detained by loss prevention/theft prevention for 15 minutes for racial profiling among other things per loss prevention team. Daughter has P/T office job, bank account, credit cards and FICO score over 700. She is Hispanic. When she was released with no incident they told her that usually shoplifters were Asian, but maybe her detainment served some cosmic purpose that will benefit her in the future. WTF! read more

The girls that work there are so unfriendly. I asked one of them a question about the jeans and she responded to me as if I was a dumb child, very rude. Then she walked away before I got a real answer. Same goes for the girl in the fitting room. I go to try on some stuff and I felt as if I was bothering her or disturbing her by the look she gave me. I had to stand there for maybe 3 or 5 minutes before she even acknowledged me, even though she saw me waiting and there wasn't anybody else around. My wife went in to purchase some clothes today for my niece and apparently the registers in the kids department was having some sort of a problem so they sent everyone to the ground floor registers. There had to have been over 25 customers in line and only two open registers....after waiting close to 15 minutes to get rung up my wife asked for a price check on a pair of shorts. The girl at the register said it was $24.99 so we declined and told her we didn't want the shorts and then paid for everything else. As we leave the store my wife notices that the gal at the register didn't remove the shorts and charged us even though she put the shorts away. My wife has to once again wait in line to get a refund. After explaining the situation to a different girl at the register she makes no apology and even has the nerve to say she has to go into the backroom to view the camera to make sure my wife was telling the truth. After being gone for about 10 minutes this Selene lady comes out annoyed and proceeds to refund my wifes money. No apology no nothing. read more

I have never been in a store that did not want to make a sell. I picked up the last shirt in my size but it was damaged, asked them to take my same size off of the mannequin so I could purchase it. I was told they could not and no one could until Monday when their stylist consultant would be in. Common sense people- use some problem solving skills. Of all the people in the store that can apparently run a credit card and are allowed to handle money but no one seemed to be able to figure this out. I am a Long Beach resident and was thrilled when they decided to open an h&m downtown. I've been here about 4/5 times and have waited to write my review. Today was the last straw. First while I was shopping in the store not one time was I greeted by an employee asked if I needed help or even looked at for that matter. Second was my experience with the cashier on the 2nd floor named Lyrik. As I approached the register she greeted me which was nice but the end of a good experience. While ringing me up she was talking to the customer behind. She gave me my total I gave her my money she lifted the bill to the sky checked it then pulled out he marker to check it again. I bought an item that was $7 and gave her a $20 bill. My boyfriend purchased something after me and she did the exact same thing to him. He paid with a $10 and $1 and she checked he $1 bill. Why would someone give a fake $1? I didn't appreciate feeling like a criminal while spending my hard earned money with this company. 2 stars because I like h&m a clothes and other locations. read more

Today, cashiers didn't seem like they were having a good day. I was observing one particular cashier as I was waiting in line to pay. I won't name names but she didn't seem like she wanted to be there. When it was my turn, I remember I had a gift card and tried to get it on my phone. The cashier made me feel rushed because while I was trying to get the gift card up on my phone she said twice, "I can take your gift card," and "Do you have a gift card?" Most horrible experience ever!! Since the minute I walked in. Keep in mind that this is my favorite place to shop. I was looking for certain size in a dress I liked for my daughter. As i approached MINDY and asked for the size i needed, she looked at me like i was interrupting her (she was having a convo with the cleaning lady). She then told me "whatever is out there is what we have". So i continued shopping. When i was done i went to pay and did a clothes donation and got a 15% discount. With a really nice lady that was also working there. As i am waiting for the rest of my group to pay, one of my friends wants to do the donation as well. mindy was her cashier. She pretended like she had no idea what my friend was talking about. And said "what discount we dont do that here" (a huge sign behind her encouraging the donation) . And when i said "well i just did the same thing and we always do it this way" she looked at me and said "who let u do it cz theyre not supposed to" i told her who and she called the other cashier to ask. Ofcourse the other worker told her she had to do it. She hangs up the phone and goes on and pn about how shes gna go ahead and honor it but thats not how it works. Like shes doing us favor. Finally i said "ok we get it thanks " and this rude girl turns around and says to me "excuse me u can't give me attitude " infront pf the full 2 lines. I couldnt believe the poor customer service skills this girl has. A party of 4 mothers who wanted to have a good time summer shopping for their children spend a good 700$ altogether and this girl wants to say we are not allowed to be rude. Never were we rude we simply know how the store runs because we love to shop there. When we are walking out she says something to the girl next to her and they start laughing. Unbelievable! Such a shame i have to find a new location now because of this girl, she left such a bad impression that i never want to be in the same room as her. read more

first off this review is based off the staff and the staff only. the store is neat and nice. i was in the childrens area waiting for a cashier until i went to go find one. top floor womens area i approached this hispanic dark haired girl with glasses. she did not look at me when i asked her for help or offered to help just said theres someone there to help you. ok w.e i went back and saw a lightskin black girl with orange curly hair and clear glasses. i asked her for help and she said ok walked me to the register didnt ask how i was doing or if that was all i needed. she simply said my total gave me my change without telling me what it was and gave me my purchase without saying anything. hella rude customer service hey h&m next time hire people who actually want to work at your store and not miserable girls. read more
