I have no picture at all of my food I ate because it was so good. I tore that falafel Gyro up. Their food is very fresh. My friend had got a meat platter. The meat was so tender. It was juicy. They cut them up and small pieces. It was definitely worth it. Well organized. They get your food in and out and very fill-in. I do recommend this place. You could also sit down and have dinner there it's not just Take out the people that served me was very caring, considerate and patient. I really appreciate the food there and the service.

Gyros are one of my favorite comfort foods and of the gyros I've tried around New York City, Gyro World is the place that keeps me coming back for more consistently. The quality of the food is apparent and my only regret after any visit is that I can't help myself and wind up eating my meal all in one sitting when the sensible thing to do would be to split the generous portions throughout at least 2-3 meals. A massively full stomach is the price you pay for top-notch ingredients, fast and friendly service and a no-frills operation. In addition to the gyros I'm a big fan of Gyro World's chicken souvlaki and always save room for desserts like their delectable rice pudding or their addictive orange cake.

Would've been a 4 but we had an awkward service experience. Came here for the "Yelp Gyro" and it was honestly pretty decent. The hummus spread that they put on it gave it a unique taste. I'd definitely suggest grabbing some tzatziki on the side because they didn't give me any when I ordered. Also ordered the calamari and I'm surprised as how fantastic it was. I'd definitely go there again just to order that and grab some pita on the side as well! (Maybe not the gyro but I'm not a gyro with fries type of guy, but maybe I would've enjoyed it more if there was more sauce). Service was good in the beginning until we tried to go back and put in an order for calamari as well. The young lady didn't seem to understand what we were trying to do and instead of asking for help she just kept asking us if we paid. Even printed out a random $39 order that we didn't place at all (idk why she did that and we literally said we only ordered a Yelp gyro lol). Ambiance is okay I guess, it's a gyro spot lol def stop in for lunch though. Grab that calamari for sure.

Overall, Gyro World is a neighborhood gem for anyone looking for good food that's affordable. It's perfect for solo meals, family gatherings, or even takeout. The front of the restaurant is not waited on and there are signs that say you need to go order from the counter. The back of the restaurant seems to have table service. The atmosphere is relaxed, with casual vibe. The staff is friendly and efficient, The food is served pretty quickly even during busy hours. My greek salad with grilled chicken was good as was the beef/lamb gyro. My usual "go to" is their lemon avgolemono soup - yum!

Good food and service as usual. Have raised prices but offer plenty. Sign up that table service may resume soon.

Came in around lunch time and stumbled upon this place. We both got the chicken souvlaki lunchbox special. The presentation is super convenient & cute!! You do get the option to change your sides; lemon potatoes, rice or French fries (+1$). The chicken itself is quite tender and the fries did not disappoint. The white taziki sauce was more on the chunky side, but I didn't mind it. The service was patient with us, they are definitely strong on the "providing customer service" as they were very bright and passionate. (You can just tell :)) I would like to try other things on the menu soon when I'm around the area. Keep up the good service & yummy food.

we frequent this place and usually order their large gw platter that feeds up to 8 people. it comes with (beef & lamb gyro, pork gyro, bifteki, chicken bifteki, pork souvlaki, chicken souvlaki, & loukaniko, served with pita & tzatziki). it's great for gatherings and everyone gets a full plate full of food.

I came here with my daughter who wanted a Gyro sandwich so bad and I was unsure about what I was gonna be able to get being that I do not eat meat. The place itself is spacious and there is also outdoor seating tables and benches available. There is street parking and possibly parking in the back I am unsure about this. The staff and service overall was nice so here's the way it works you order your food in the front you pick a table and they bring you your food when it's ready simple. I did ask a staff member that was at the register to help me along with the menu to better understand what I was going to be ordering . So for my daughter, I did order a chicken Gyro and a side of fries. There were three options of chicken and I went with his choice since they're made in three different ways. For myself, I ordered a fish sandwich now he did mention that he probably would not recommend this item but I still wanna have an ordered it and I am 100% happy with my decision. The fish sandwich came with two fried pieces of fish, lettuce, tomato on a bun and a side of tartar sauce. The sandwich was a great size, but I just realized from having the sandwich that I've never had a real fish sandwich. The sandwich is highly recommended. I ordered sautéed onions and peppers to go on top of the sandwich because I really like onions and peppers. However, the sandwich was fine just the way that it came, I absolutely cannot wait to return to have this sandwich again.

I was in the area and been craving for Greek food since it's been a while. GyroWorld is Mediterranean fare and when you walk in, you're immediately greeted by the wafting smell of gyro and romantic Greek music playing overhead (I had no clue what the lyrics are saying but it sounded very romantic to me). This location happened to be a block from where I parked so it was quite convenient considering it was below 30°F outside at the time and I didn't want to be walking any further than that in the cold. It was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday (only one table of customers). I've been having a hard time finding pork gyro in this part of Queens - most places either tell me they don't serve it or had sold out for the day. I was so glad that GyroWorld has it! The girl at the counter seemed only a few years younger than me and was great at customer service. She strongly insisted I didn't need to tip since I'm ordering to-go and before I could say anything, she pressed "skip" on the tip screen for me. Personally, I tip regardless of whether I dine in or not so even though it was too late to do it on my card, I gave her a tip in cash (especially because she was so sweet and truly wasn't asking for anything; I just hope that others would do the same). I also really wished I had found this place sooner because just look at the packaging!! It's like an adult Greek happy meal!! My inner child was so excited seeing this. The pork was so flavorful - even the charred bits - and the sides paired so beautifully with it. I finished every morsel of food in that box (minus the olive - I'm not a fan of olives) and it kept me full the whole night. I will definitely be returning.

When we called to make reservations, we were told that they *usually* serve brunch (i.e., breakfast food) on Saturdays and Sundays, but they would not be doing so on Mother's Day because... well, Mother's Day. My mother-in-law doesn't like eggs, so totally fine! We proceeded with excitement. When we drove up we realized it was right next door to Greek Family Kitchen on Union Turnpike; a restaurant we've been to many, many times. It turns out that this restaurant is by the same owners. This was promising news, as we've always loved the food there! We were initially seated at a table at the front half of the restaurant, but another (very large) party was seated next to us and one of the children was watching cartoons loudly on an iPad with no headphones, so we asked if we could be moved outside or to the other end of the restaurant so we wouldn't have to be near the untenable racket. The staff was very kind and understanding, and moved us to the patio. There was a small hiccup with service, in that we were given a warm bottle of rosé -- I've worked service industry before, and I know how to chill a bottle in about five minutes (the old "spin it in the ice bucket with water" trick). I also know you shouldn't put a warm bottle of white or rosé wine at the table in front of a customer. The bottle should've been chilled in the kitchen, the wait station or behind the bar before it was taken to our table. But this is really a small matter -- not even worthy of docking half a star. We ordered zucchini chips, saganaki and a caesar salad to start -- splitting all. Delicious! We knew the dining experience would be elevated compared to the sister restaurant next door just by glancing around the dining room, but the food told us immediately that we were in for an upscale experience that rivaled the food we've always loved at the more down-home Greek Family Kitchen. Our mains arrived shortly thereafter (the Linguini Puttanesca and the Pear & Gorgonzola Ravioli) and did not disappoint. The food was light but also satisfying. Of course we sprang for dessert, too (it was Mother's Day, after all!). We got the Dubai Chocolate, which was rich but light all at the same time, replete with a snaking line of chocolate sauce across the plate which was interrupted at intervals with sprinklings of edible gold. Couldn't have been more pleased with what turned out to be a fantastically appropriate Mother's Day locale. We will definitely be returning!

I was exuberant for the occasion of goodness to patronize, at long last. What gives you hope. There is an outdoor seating patio that occupies the entire sidewalk and half the street. The weather was gloomy cloudy, but not raining which enable my party of two to dine outdoors. Our table was uneven wobbling and shaking minimal the entire meal which reminisce "Lisa from Temecula" sketch from "Saturday Night Live," but not as violently aggressive shaking. Customer service is average attentive. Oddly, our appetizers arrived first and my wine did not. We had to request my wine which should be distributed first without request or reminder, thus the four stars. This restaurant was not entirely busy nor crowded for a Friday early afternoon. Nick's Bistro is a small cafe with a modern aesthetic appeal. I enjoy and prefer to be well-cultured expose to all international cuisines without judgment and an open mind for appreciation and global awareness. I am not knowledgeable with Greek cuisine, but I do know that Astoria is the locale for the go-to restaurants. I enter with a empty stomach. I exited fulfilled. Business cards and candy were available for grabs. Nick's Bistro is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit buses Q53 SBS/ Q52 SBS and then Q54. Dramatic irony: this business name is also the name of my former love - not the same Nick, certainly not the same man. My foodie synopsis: Lamb gyro sandwich, $12.00 The meat was soft, but fresh and Tzatziki sauce was heavy. I do not consume lamb often, but once in a blue moon I would not exclude lamb to consume. The pita bread was the highlight which was fresh, soft and cooked with a good consistency without burning or harden. The gyro contain very pauacity minimal vegetables of lettuce, half cherry tomato and red onion. I always prefer red onion. I prefer regular tomato. This sandwich ate my fill to sustain hunger pangs the entire afternoon. Gyro sandwich is always my default Greek entrée of choice. Oddly, this entrée is price higher than listed on their website for $9.00. I do not believe their website is updated for price. Caesar salad, small $11.25 It was fresh and delightful filled with Parmesan shaved cheese. This portion is actually medium size. The croutons are thankfully not hard, but I never like croutons at all. I am always enamored with the lettuce. Ruffino, Chianti, 2019 red wine $12.00 This wine is one of my favorite reds, but it is difficult to find at most restaurants or cafés not widely offered. It was a joyous delight. It is exactly as is dry, very medium-bodied smooth finish Italian red wine from Tuscany, Italy, crafted from indigenous Sangiovese grape. It highlight bright cherry flavors and surely tasted. I was floating in very high spirits. Chicken rice soup, pint $6.95 Served luke warm but not piping hot with steam visibly emitted. It was also served with Oyster crackers. It was enjoyable and warm the heart. Greek Omelet, over easy egg whites $16.50 It was served with Greek feta cheese with vegetables yellow zucchini and pita chips. I highly despise Greek feta cheese and the same for Greek yogurt because both are extremely heavy, thick and too rich. I do not see any tomatoes. This entrée did appeared well prepared and well cooked but no runny yoke. My neighbor thoroughly enjoyed this entrée. Every time I think of omelet it bring flashbacks from past long-haul international flights major airlines of standard airplane food popularity for in-flight breakfast, often served with potatoes, sausage, or roasted vegetables. Nostalgia brew. Omelet? Flight attendant, I'll take the Continental with pastries, toast and fresh fruit please. Then followed by Bedtime Care Bear make me fall asleep again.
