My friend and I ate here 7/13/23... after previously dinning at this location I have never had such a poor experience. Upon arriving the host seated us at a table in the middle of the busy walkway which was uncomfortable the entire evening. On top of constantly worrying about if someone would bump our table it is HOT! There is no air conditioning in the building and they only have 2 portable air conditioning units that are not capable of cooling a restaurant of that size. After also having multiple parties request for a table move most of our night dining here was spent talking to other tables next to us that continued to also be distressed by the temperature inside the restaurant. After a long day of work and wanting to catch up with a friend this was the last I would have wanted to deal with while trying to have a relaxing evening. Gypsy kitchen please do better! While our food was great and our waiter was passable the exhaustion of no AC was very overwhelming. To be in Georgia in the middle of July with a restaurant that is too hot is terrible. I will say, this establishment is a trendy and higher quality place for the late 20s-30s crowd which I love considering all the bars off Roswell in Buckhead are overrun with college kids now a days. **Location - spot on, beautiful, new, nice, upscale. **Food - could improve, I feel like the tapas are lacking flavor and depth. The plates seem overly sauced with multiple sauces to make the plates look fancy but it isn't helping the food. I understand the concept of wanting to have tapas and small plates, but Eclipse De Luna down the street hands down wins in the tapas category. The desserts are different, again, could be improved. The full size entrees are better though, my fiance' has ordered the steaks and the fish entree's and both were pretty tasted and well executed **Drinks - I have tried a handful of cocktails and nothing has been amazing, for my palette. I usually end up ordering a Captain and Ginger after I try a cocktail because I don't like the created cocktails on their menu. **Atmosphere - this place does have a great vibe and atmosphere. My first two visits to GK were so perfect that I had to return for the third time for the NYE dinner with my girlfriends. Let's just say I regretted all night for making that decision. We were enjoying our time together until maybe only about an hour after we were seated (our half-eaten food was still on the plate, and a whole bottle of wine to finish), we started getting an impression that the server was rushing us. At the end, he pretty much had us leave, in a polite way. Yeah, I get that the night before New Years is a busy time but really, the night was so early still and we couldn't ignore the empty tables around us. To make things worse, literally every single dish we ordered that night was WAY TOO SALTY. Not sure if the chef had lost his ability to taste, but at one point we had to tell our server to return a dish back to the kitchen for being too salty. I've ordered the same tapas that I ordered in my previous visits: patatas bravas, chicken croquetas, seafood paella fried rice, and mixed greens. My tongue was in pain eating all these food covered in salt. It's such a shame, since they were so delicious when I had them before! I absolutely love the interior as well as the patio. It is so romantic, and I would highly recommend the patio seating during summer. Unfortunately for me this would be the last visit to GK since they basically ruined my NYE dinner. Looks aren't everything. We were looking forward to our Family Easter Brunch. The Ginormous pan of paella at the front patio, being freshly prepared, as we arrived, was tempting and luring! We gathered at the bar while waiting for our reservation...which was 30 mins backed up. 1st Downer: No Draft Beer available...so NO local Craft Beer. How hard is that to keep stocked? However, the Draft Gin and Tonic was fantastic for the price. Interior was trendy Spanish Influence...and well done. The wandering Easter Bunny was cheesy but made for fun family photos. Once seated it went downhill. Menus were handed to all, by the maitre d. We began to explore all tapas options. We noticed that no options were brunchy, but a note on menu stated to ask your server for the Brunch options. We asked our server ...who looked immediately confused as we pointed to the statement on the menu. Our server said the Brunch Paella was $10/plate and everything else was as stated on the menu...so we placed our orders and she proceeded to the kitchen...only to return to tell us what they "did NOT have"....so we started over again with other options....only to have her return and say they were no longer serving that...so we started over again. 3rd time back to us she discovered that "we had the wrong menus"! So...we started over again for a 4th try! Sadly the Brunch Options were not as luring as the regular Lunch menu...and sadly when food started arriving it was worse than feared. Paella was COLD and lackluster and maybe some seafood bits, for $10 ...find it odd it's sitting all alone on the front porch as we left (temperature control?) Steak and Eggs at $13 was a 1-2oz thin slice of steak with an egg and loaded with fried potatoes. Nothing to get excited about for such a small portion. Midas...maybe some bits of chicken sausage under an egg with mostly bread...loaded in heavy sauce Poutine...maybe some bits of bacon under an egg with mostly fried potatoes loaded with sauce. Since they were out of All other veggie options (including the stuffed medajool dates...defeated, we chose a beet salad. It's $30 for two cheeses and two meats you pick from a list. While I'm sure they were all high quality, I was disappointed that my first choices were either out, or up charged $10! I can be a bit of a charcuterie snob, so I really wasn't impressed, but I don't think this is the kind of restaurant you go to for charcuterie. This Spanish/Moroccan restaurant is perfect for dining with a group of friends or with a hot date. Although it's a tapas style restaurant so I'd recommend going with more people so you can try out all the plates. It's located on the second floor of the Shops @ Buckhead so you'll have to take the painfully slow elevators to go up. I'd also recommend taking public transport. There's a garage and valet if you want to wait. Live atmosphere, great drinks and decent food. -Chicken Croquetas ($7) - decent fried balls, the sauce needs an extra tang -Chorizo ($8) - smoked and popped in my mouth w/ flava flave -Lamb Meatballs ($12) - these were amazeballs, great taste and texture. Couldn't stop devouring the sauce -Morrocan Ribs ($26) - definitely a stack of ribs here.. there were 5-6 pieces of fall off the bone ribs. Taste wasn't bad but hard to compete with all the other kings of rib restaurants in the ATL -Service: ehh, we had a reservation and were seated an hour later. Manager wasn't the most polite. They did give us champagne on the house since it was a birthday celebration and we had 10+ people who waited. Servers were quick and funny. Had such a great time here last Sunday. Was a great crowd and the vibe was wonderful. What really set the atmosphere apart was the LIVE flamenco guitar and percussionist! They were absolutely amazing and created a better vibe than just listening to the normal music that a restaurant plays over their speakers. The food was also amazing. They specialize in small plates so I had the steak plate and the potatoes plate and both were flavorful and cooked to perfection. Also if you sit at the bar, Ally the bartender is the best! The food is a little weird for me, so I stuck with the Chicken Croquetas or "fried chicken meatball" dish as I call it. And, I also had the Seville Rose to drink. My waiter suggested LA Palabra Cubana, and he was AMAZING so if you like gin even a little bit try it. Atmosphere alone should be 6 stars. This place reminds me of LA. The comfortable, dimly lit patio, decor, and music give it a great vibe. Finally, as great as the atmosphere is our waiter was even better. I really wish I remembered his name because I'm definitely requesting him next time. He's hilarious! My coworker had recommended Gypsy's kitchen for a gathering. We went last night and it was crowded. We had reservations at 9pm but weren't seated till 9:30pm which isn't a problem with me. I didn't mind waiting, since their employees were nice enough to take pictures for my friends and I. It can get a bit loud inside. It was hard hearing our waiter and my friends across the table because of the music. We never complained about it, but he did apologize for the music being too loud. The service here was great. Our waiter was funny and sweet. Even though I couldn't hear his name, he would always come back to our table when he saw us looking around for help. A dish I would recommend is the Queso Frito! It was delicious. Two breads that you can break apart and share with everyone. You can taste the apple in the cheese & the goat flavors come through in the end. The other dishes we ordered like the patatas, octopus, shrimp, steak, scallops, chicken, and mushrooms were not impressive. There just wasn't enough seasoning in the dishes to compliment the food. The chicken was bland even with the dipping sauce. I was expecting the mushrooms to be full of flavor, but was disappointed. They do validate your parking tickets for 3 hrs after you pay for your check which is nice. She left us speaking alone, literally trough the plate without letting us answer if that was our plate or not. The drinks here are terrible. I've had 2 different bartenders make me a Moscow mule, on both occasions they left much to be desired. Now, tell me, how can I give a higher rating when you can't put together a tasty mule? Had to go downstairs to Le Bilboquet to get the real thing. We reeeallllly wanted the Branzino fish dish and the kitchen ran out, so Nok went next door to a neighboring restaurant and was able to get trout from them, to the chef at Gypsy Kitchen as a substitute for the branzino. I'm a huge tapas fan, because I enjoy trying a bunch of different dishes, but this place was kind of a fail for me. Came in here on a Thursday night for a friends birthday. We had made reservations earlier, so we were seated right away, outside on their patio - where we enjoyed the vibe and the view. We ordered a bunch of dishes, and the first dish that came out was patatas braves, which was probably my favorite dish of the night. So after having that, I got excited about all the other food we had ordered. The gypsy fried chicken and the garlic shrimp were probably my next favorite, but everything else was just mediocre. Really wanted to enjoy the seafood paella and the tuna tartare, but there just wasn't enough flavor and didn't taste good. The presentation on some of these dishes were really nice, but let down that they didn't taste as good as it looked. After that, we had decided we didn't want to order any dessert and just wanted to get the check, until one of the staff came by raving about their churros, so we decided to give it a try. When it came out, it smelled amazing and looked really good, until we took a bite, and realized it was undercooked. So we let our waiter know, and he agreed that it was mushy and shouldn't look like that, so he put in another order for us. When it came back out again, we realized that the color of the churros was way darker, and even the waiter, when he was putting it down on the table, seemed a bit hesitant. Honestly, we didn't even need to try it to know, but it was too burnt and overcooked this time. Our waiter was really apologetic and kind enough to remove it off our tab. Would I come back again? Honestly, probably not. We all left pretty disappointed. Even having read some of the bad reviews about this place, I still wanted to give this place a shot, and have my own opinion, but I would have to agree with most people - that the food is just ok. If you're looking for a hip, trendy spot for drinks, this is it. But if you're looking for good food, I would probably pass. read more

Went for a casual birthday dinner and oh my goodness this food was so awful! We had to send back the scallops because they taste like someone dropped the whole box of salt on them. Everything was over seasoned and just generally bad tasting. The only reason we gave it any stars is that the waiter was great. We had great service and food was well done with a a few highlights. The Chickpea Pancake (0 flour) was excellent and different. Highly recommended. We ordered the Chicken Croquetas, Patatas bravas, Octopus ( was cooked good, but the additional ingredients on the plays are a little too much and lose the octopus flavor, also ratio of Octupus to additional ingredients was short of Octupus to allow it to work well). Last dish we ordered was the whole branzino, and it was cooked to perfection, the skin of the fish was toasted and seasons perfect. Highly recommend it. I made a reservation for 8:00 on OpenTable, but my friend and I were running a little late, so we called ahead to let the hostess know. We arrived at the restaurant around 8:10, and we're informed that they were running behind, so it would be another 10-20 minutes. We decided to grab a drink at the bar, which was PACKED. I felt sorry for the tables that were close to the bar because there really just wasn't enough space. There were probably a lot of butts very close to the edge of their tables. Even though the bar was packed, we were able to get our drinks pretty fast. I just ordered the gk red sangria. It was decent. Finally, we were seated around 8:45. Service was good. We ordered and received our food in a timely manner. My friend and I shared the charcuterie & cheese board. We had the chorizo soria, iberico salchichon, machego and garrotxa. All of them were pretty good! I would recommend trying the machego. Overall, I really like the ambiance of this place. It's very modern and trendy and it's also in a great location. I would come back to try some of their tapas, but I would hope that my reservation wouldn't turn into a 45-minute wait again. read more

Gypsy has awesome happy hour deals during the week before 6:30. You can get some great Spanish wines for $5 a glass! The food is a little pricey, but very worth it. Their tapas are reliable, but still very eclectic. To me, the food is a combo of Spanish tapas with some North African flare. Must make reservations on the weekends. I have been to Gypsy Kitchen quite a few times with friends on the weekend to enjoy some drinks and their beautiful rooftop view. yesterday I attended their 2 year anniversary party and that was the first time I was able to dine at their restaurant. It was a beautiful and warm October day on their outside patio and they started the party off right with free Gin and Tonics form 4-5PM. Their special for that day was Paella that was made in a large dish for all the guests. I tried the Paella and it was good but didn't taste like traditional Paella would. I also had the mussels and the garlic as some small plates. The mussels are cooked in a coconut milk sauce and the portion is pretty generous. The mussels were good but not the best I have ever had. I absolutely loved the Garlic shrimp and the size of the shrimp was great! My server was very nice and attentive even given the large crowd for the anniversary party. Overall, I had a great experience like I always do and will definitely be back again. I may even have my upcoming birthday dinner at this beautiful venue. read more

My favorite cocktail bar in Atlanta! The lighting is always great creating a moody atmosphere. The best part is the actual drinks I always get the gin and tonics and they are literally the best here. They have a great outdoor seating area with comfortable seating and a scenic view. I've only tried the appetizers here but the food seems pretty good too. (Sorry no photos, mama was hungry) Brussel Sprouts- I'm a huge fan of them charred, grilled, roasted, etc. Isn't the best when you get the crispy part! This dish comes to you as a combination of roasted, smothered in a buttery sauce and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. It was mentioned that bacon is in it. For such a wonder combo of flavors, the chef has managed to some mute the delivery. Unfortunately, the dish was not that impressive or as flavorful as I had imagined it would be. Braised lamb- Love lamb! This dish was just "okay" as well. Wasn't bad, but didn't knock my socks off either. Incredibly mediocre...but I ate it though. Like the pita bread. All in all, this is a place for happy hour drinks, friends and good times at the bar or on the patio. That's what your paying for here. The tapas are right down the middle. Good afternoon, First off I actually like this establishment and will go back here. But this weekend I wanted to have a nice night out with my friends and celebrate a birthday. I chose not to eat so heavy so I ordered the tuna for $20. I never had this dish and asked the waiter is it was good. He explained it to me as if I get multiple peace's of seared tuna nicely presented on a plate. Well Gypsy Kitchen, those four smallest peace's of tuna cut against the veins with most soup on the plate than tuna was just disrespectful. Not seasoned , the sauce was also water tasting and the presentation all was just not nice for the amount your are charging.
