Just steps from Wellesley Station, this is the kind of place I'd happily stop by after work. For around $15, the combo with assorted gyoza and hot & sour soup is an incredible value.
The hot & sour soup honestly surprised me. It wasn't just a side dish--it was excellent on its own. The broth was perfectly thickened, smooth without feeling heavy, and coated every bite of tofu, wood ear mushrooms, pork, and egg ribbons. The acidity was well balanced, adding brightness without overpowering the broth's natural umami. Every spoonful was packed with ingredients.
The assorted gyoza was just as impressive. The crispy lace around the dumplings looked beautiful, and the bottoms were perfectly crisp while the wrappers stayed pleasantly chewy. Bite into one and be ready for a burst of juicy filling--I actually needed a napkin for the dripping juices.
My personal picks were:
* New Orleans Chicken
* Pork & Shrimp
* Signature Pork
The New Orleans Chicken was packed with aromatic seasoning from the first bite to the last. The Pork & Shrimp literally had a whole shrimp inside, making every bite extra satisfying. As for the Signature Pork... I forgot to take a photo because I ate it too quickly.
I also noticed Taiwanese beef noodle soup, dry wontons, and Taiwanese shaved ice on the menu, so I'll definitely be back to try more.
I wish every subway station had a place like this--an affordable little spot where you can grab a satisfying meal on your way home after work. read more
