I was so happy to find this spot through yelp. The food tasted so fresh, like the hash browns tasted like they were shredded in the morning and cooked on a skillet versus frozen hash browns, and the eggs tasted fresh as well. We came here on a Friday and on a Saturday, and received service from a gentleman on the Friday and a woman on a Saturday. Despite the short staff, they were courteous and took our orders, and brought them out as soon as they were ready. They thanked us for our patience, but we were happy to wait knowing the food is excellent. The restaurant itself is so cute. I love the theme of Greece and Chicago, articles of Gus, and funny signs that we had a good laugh. Come enjoy this place too! read more

Stopped here for a late breakfast while visiting GWL. There's a big parking lot right next to it, food came fast and was fantastic. Service was good and personable. Prices were cheap! So glad we stopped here instead of Cracker Barrel, and look forward to returning. read more

We had driven to LaGrange to check out an art exhibit and wanted to grab lunch first. On such prior trips, we'd eaten at one or two other places, so we wanted to try something new. If you are facing the town square / park on Lafayette Parkway, Gus's is on the street bordering the far side of the square and less than a block down on the right. There is street parking available generally, but there are also a couple of free parking decks within a couple of blocks on either side of Lafayette Parkway. The color scheme of Gus's storefront is blue and white, reflecting the Greek flag. Inside, there is a small host station up front. it isn't staffed constantly but one of the servers indicated that we could sit wherever we liked. We grabbed a booth. The whole place is decorated with travel and cooking 'knick-knacks' - banners from the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, fryer baskets, etc. The places has a 'lived in' look and their menu says they've been there since 1995. The place was busy on a Saturday at around 1 p.m. when we showed up. They serve breakfast and lunch but close at 2 p.m., so don't wait too late to arrive. Our server came by and soon provided our drinks. We both opted for gyros with different sides. My wife's side salad was pretty plain, but was as describe on the menu. However, we both agreed that the gyros were among the best we've had. The pitas tasted fresh and were not stiff. The meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection, and their family tzatziki sauce was great! Prices were quite reasonable. Whenever we're next in LaGrange, we'll likely be returning to Gus's. read more

I'm giving this restaurant two stars just because of nostalgia. We've been going to this restaurant since they opened and this last visit is our last visit. The food was okay but what really did it was when we questioned a couple items on the plate, we were told we must have been thinking of a different restaurant because they've never done what we had asked for. Okay possible that we've made the mistake but it was the passive aggressive way the waitress said it that offended me. Also, my husband's bacon was so cold there was a film of grease on it that had hardened. Upon finally finishing the breakfast my husband got a tea, and noticed that there was a fly dead in the tea. When I informed the waitress of this she said oh it must have flown in. As I've said we've gone to this restaurant since they've opened but this will be our last time ever going in there. read more

Great food, very poor service. My family visits there 3 or 4 times a month and we have always been treated with respect, how ever this morning 11/14/2025, my disabled veteran son and wife took me to breakfast following my doctors appointment. At 86 yrs old with crippling arthritis, heart and lung disease and other elements, I was looking forward to the good food but, there were no chairs to sit down in but there were 3 empty tables and due to my disabilities I had to sit down. the waitress was very rude and disrespectful telling me to move, she didn't want anyone to sit at the tables until they were clean, she came back and wanted to still complaining about me sitting there, while my disabled son and daughter in law was standing close by so i didn't fall out of the chair. then she returned to the table and said there is people that is going to be served before you. you need to go to the front to sit down in the chairs up there, I told her there were no chairs to sit in. she then seated 3 men at a booth and continued to make remarks. I then told my family to lets go somewhere else because this waitress is very agitated and i don't wish to bother her anymore, and i will not be back due to this. Really liked this place it was cute. A lot of antiques to look at. We went here for breakfast. Justin was our waiter, always had a smile. We both got the Western omelette. It was a generous portion, came out hot and it was very good. The hash browns were flavorful and yummy. The biscuits were tasty and buttery. We got some strawberry jam to finish the biscuit off. We stopped for lunch on Sunday afternoon. LeGrange is a simple, small Georgia town. Life is slow, and everyone is a friend. Gus's Grill is located a block away from the town square. The square was decorated with American flags for Memorial Day, and there is a beautiful fountain in the center of it. We almost opted for a Burger King, but found Gus's on the Yelp app. I'm glad we did. Gus's is a snapshot of Americana that you might imagine in a Norman Rockwell painting. The restaurant was busy with the after-church crowd. The table conversations were buzzing, and it was difficult to not eavesdrop. A young boy enthusiastically telling an adjacent table about his new dog, a young pastor asking an older couple if anyone "got" a joke he told at the pulpit, and two elderly men discussing what day their Sunday school class was held on (it's held on Sunday). The conversations were entertaining. Everyone in our party ordered a hamburger. My burger was good. I especially like the fresh lettuce, tomato, and homemade pickles. The fries were made from fresh potatoes. They are sliced into medium size sticks and the outside pieces had the potato skin left on. I like the fries, but mine could have been fried a tad longer. let me start off with the food here is great! The service is a joke. We get there and there are two tables left, a 2 seater and a 4 seater. It says wait to be seated. A guy comes up to seat us and we say we have 4 total, 2 are on the way. He says I will seat you when they arrive. we stand up with no where to sit for 10 mins or more and lose the table that we could have been sitting at and already ordering drinks. Then told there were no tables available anymore, we would have to wait longer, so we left. while we stood, we had to watch everyone eat and stare at us. very unprofessional for a hole in the wall diner. this was not a five star place. we are locals who have eaten here before, but i will not be back as long as that is their policy. I feel like we were treated unfairly. We were there and there was a vacant table. people that came in after we stood for 10+ minutes got it right away. This is bad business. Basic Breakfast place that is clearly a local favorite. We stayed in the Marriott on the LaGrange city square and walked 2 blocks to Gus's in the morning. The abundance of pick up trucks parked there gave us a tip that the food must be good and abundant if worker's were starting their day there. Quick service, reasonable prices, hot coffee and an eclectic collection of silly items, antiques and wall plaques with pithy sayings combine for a fun and pleasant environment. read more
