What a great addition to the Clawson downtown atmosphere. Pleasant, informative staff. A new well lit pub with good food and Irish entertainment on Sundays. Huge selection of beers and specialty cocktails. Come give it a try before St. Patricks Day, because this place is going to be bumpin'! read more

got a carryout of fish and chips, stew, and sweet potato fries. opened up the fries immediately in the car to start munching -disappointed to discover they very few of the fries were crispy at all. tasty-but not crispy. my 2 piece cod dinner had the smallest pieces of cod I've seen in a long time and the tiniest amount of slaw! probably 4 forkfuls!! The regular fries that came with the fish weren't crispy either. Over $45 for a pretty pitiful dinner for 2. my first impression when I walked in was that I'd like to return to dine in sometime. that won't be happening read more

This Irish bar/restaurant is absolutely the cleanest drinking/eating facility that I've ever been to. It has become my favorite place to go lately. And, the food is excellent. The bartenders are friendly and accommodating. Their prices are very reasonable. The 14 mi/Main St. location is a tough area for bars and restaurants with a steady turnover. I believe that Gus's Snug is a tribute to the food and drink industry with it's very high standards and will be at their location for many years to come. Great job Dimitri and staff! The food and drink are great, but do not come here for the music. Listening to Phil Collins "Easy Lover" is bullsh*t when it comes to an "being" an Irish pub. Nobody likes a poser. My two cents. read more

I should have known that this place was as Irish as the olive garden. You can't call it shepherd's pie when they use beef, is lamb only. Call it cottage pie when you use beef. The bangers weren't anything like a traditional banger. Frustrating when you see a place to try and I emphasize try to be a British style pub but don't think the people who run it have ever been to a real British gastro pub in England. read more

It was a beautiful night to sit outside on the patio. So nice to see so many people walking around our great city. The Piedmontese burger was fantastic. BF had the grilled chicken sandwich and loved it. The star of the night, though, was my Pear Martini. Maybe the best drink I have ever had! The service was incredible. Thank you, Jake, and the atmosphere on patio was just perfect. read more

First time visiting Gus' Snug. Mary the bartender was excellent, fast and efficient. Drinks were full and our orders were delivered fast and correct. The food was great reasonably priced and delicious. the atmosphere was authentic Irish. A great new option you will not be disappointed. read more

We came in last Saturday night with a very large group to watch the Notre Dame/Southern Cal game. The bar has a great vibe, was extremely welcoming and did a great job of making the event a success. The food menu is standard Irish pub food and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Our server, Keke, was very friendly and took great care of us. Night wrapped up with a great 90s cover singer. Our group will be back, and we highly recommend. read more

Went to Gus' Snug last night, what a treat. Great Irish bar atmosphere and excellent service. And even better, the food was good. A two piece band was playing Irish tunes and belted out happy birthday to someone in our group. perfect night and enjoyable meal. read more

Gus' Snug is a welcome addition to Clawson! It has great beers and a wonderful selection of whiskies and great food, so you can't go wrong. We sat in the "snug", a narrow, small dining area with a long thin table and a tv to boot. It is perfect for knocking some pints back with 5 of your friends, but I wouldn't eat a meal here unless you have under four as the table will not accommodate all the food for the six stools in the snug. We ordered a Guinness and a Kilkenny Cream Ale (Highly recommended) and the pretzels, poutine and a pub burger to share. The poutine was delicious with an onion gravy and a fried egg on top. The burger was massive and came with a basket of hot, yummy fries. We split it three ways and we all had plenty. It was the best burger I have had around here! We also tried the corned beef and cabbage, which was perfectly cooked! The only disappointment was the pretzels which came with cheese sauce which were both "meh" , so I would skip those. Our friends took our recommendation and went for lunch the next day and said the potato leek soup, fish sandwich and fish and chips were excellent! They have live music four nights and Sunday night is Irish music. The wait staff was super helpful and enthusiastic, they even gave us the history of a "snug". I am looking forward to coming back! Great place! read more

The only real happy hour in Clawson. All appetizers are half off. I will definitely be going back.

Dave (manger I believe) and Nicole (waitress / server) were great ! Fish and chips rocked. Sheppard's pie is always on point. Love this place ! read more

I was so happy when it was announced that an Irish pub was coming to clawson, and Gus' truly knocked it out of the park. Cute ambiance, attentive waiters, and food that has us back more than once in their brief stint of being open. Their chicken sandwich and turkey Rueben were both some of the best. If you're a sweet potato fan, the sweet potato fries are a MUST order. The true test of an Irish establishment though, is their Guinness, which I can confirm is tremendous. read more

Went there today with my brother and sat at the bar. The bar stools were very uncomfortable to start. The bartender/waitress was very nice and personable. Ordered the bar burger and fries. The burger was excellent. Delicious and juicy. The fries though were terrible. Soggy and tasteless. I could have made better from my freezer. So would I go back? Yes with 2 changes. First to sit at a table and two don't order the fries read more

This place is fine. The food is fine. The ambiance is fine. The service is terrible! We came for a late lunch on a weekday. They weren't dead but weren't super busy either. I'm not sure if the waitress had other things she wanted to do or what, but she definitely did not want to wait on us. I got a Reuben and a cup of potato leek soup. The Reuben wasn't the best or worst I have ever had. The potato leek soup was good after I added a lot of salt. The highlight of my meal was the Irish coffee. It was delicious! I was going to get a 2nd drink, but see description of service above. I am giving them 4 stars because I want to see them succeed. read more

I love the snug! this bar has an amazing atmosphere, delicious food and service that keeps me coming back. So much I stopped in Friday and Saturday this weekend. I need to express love for the female bartenders!! Megan and Mikayla made Saturday a blast, it's always a treat having either one take care of you. Late Friday night I went in to enjoy live music because my favorite "JIBS" was preforming. Jess was the only reason we stayed at the bar. I think Alex was the other bartender, he was quite rude and seemed to be miserable doing his job? I'm a bartender myself and appreciate good service when I am out so I wanted to give credit where it's due. Usually I would put 5 stars but after Friday night I just cannot! read more

We have not had the opportunity to dine in at Gus' snug, but we did order carryout. The positive was the employee that answered the phone was very friendly, and the chicken tenders were very good. However, we ordered two burgers and one kids burger. The kids burger was raw inside and not edible, one of the burgers was suppose to be medium well and was super red inside and not edible. The third burger was ordered well done and it indeed was overly well done. Best part was their Donegal chips! Very disappointing first visit. read more

Love this place. Usually just get a few apps to share. Their boozy seltzers are great and refreshing. Best scotch egg I've had in ages, and the bangers and mash app is enough for a meal. My only issue is when they have live music, it is difficult to talk. But the music is always good. Just plan your visit for more listening, less chatting if there is someone performing. read more

I live in Clawson and we love our Mexican and Asian go to eateries, but we've needed Gus' for awhile. It's an Irish bar with great food (bangers and mash, burger and calamari I can actually vouch for). The other food looked very good coming out of the kitchen. Staff is well trained (I think they have staff from the Rochester. store helping...smart!). If you come, come early! It's been very busy, but that's a good thing! Atmosphere is casual and comfortable. I think Gus' is here to stay. Welcome to Clawson! read more

Amazing Fish. Chips were ok. Could have used a minute or two longer in the fryer but definitely not worth anything negative. Service was amazing. Place just isn't that good. Service isn't great, female bartender was inattentive, and when she did interact, you couldn't hear her and the atmosphere wasn't even loud.. Food is very basic. And my personal pet peeve, they cram like 12 bar chairs when there's only room for 8 comfortably, 9 crammed. I moved once, and was inquired to move 2 additional times. To which I let those people know, if you can fit here comfortably, be my guest. Neither party sat down. I wouldn't go back or recommend. read more

Really Good. Went on a Saturday Night around 6 pm for a Carryout. 2 Reuben's with Fries and a Pub Burger with Fries. The price was reasonable considering the economy right now. The Food was a 10 the Corned Beef was tasty and tender, the Fries were potatoey and the Burger was Fresh and Tasty. I Definitely recommend a Visit. read more

Good food, good beer and definitely great service! We enjoyed everything! We are definitely going back.

Fantastic service! Mike came back multiple times to ask if we were ok. The homemade chips and dip were crisp and flavorful. I'll be back.

Wanted to try something different, one of the new restaurants in Clawson. We choose this one based on food costs. We got there about 6:30 to 40 minute wait. Which wasn't terrible for Saturday night. Atmosphere was busy the bar looks amazing inside. We got our seats in about 30 minutes. We ordered French onion soup & corn beef and cabbage. The french one soup was a awful example id give it 1.4 out of 10. Bowl wasn't even full, baked cheese barely existed, bowl only 2/3 full. Corn beef came in a bowl with so much sauce i thought i was getting soup. Horseradish sauce cup floating in it. All & all good flavor just wish was plated not in a bowl. Our friends got shepherds pie & chicken tenders. Shepherds pie $19 for tiny little bowl. Glad i didnt get that. Chicken was good. I left still hungry. read more

First visit as yesterday. I had the Guinness Stew and it was fabulous! The meat was super tender and when the owner came by to see if we were happy with our meal, I asked him about it. I cook a LOT and have made this stew before, but his was so much better. Cooking just the meat longer in a dutch oven, adding the veggies that are cooked separately, later. The side of craic fries were also amazing. Nicole, our server was attentive and timely with everything. Highly recommend. read more
