I had a client who was trying to decide on a color for her house. We tried a few DV shades but my client saw a couple of colors from Home Depot she liked. When I asked Ray to match an HD color he got upset and said that "maybe this store isn't for you." I took him up on his offer and I have not set foot in a DV store since. DV's paint is good but I am not going to get yelled at where I need paint. Home Depot doesn't treat me that way so I have been buying my paint there. It's too bad because Diamond Vogel is a family owned company and I like to support those kind of businesses but if I have to deal with Ray then NO THANK YOU! Get rid of Ray and I will return! I'm having my space painted by a professional, so I didn't need supplies other than the paint, but it looked like they had a good selection of brushes, tarps, painters tape, etc. We ended up paying less than the price listed on the signage both because the signage was wrong and we found a 30% off coupon online. So check for those! There's ample parking and the store wasn't busy even on a Saturday afternoon. Cons: Their paint selection is pretty limited compared to the big box stores, so finding that perfect shade of whatever color you're after is a bit trickier. The only time we talked to a member of staff was when we went up to pay. Even then we had to wait for several minutes for someone to come out of the back of the store. We were never greeted or offered help even though that person had previously been at the counter and there were only 4-5 people in the store at any given moment. That said, once we were at the counter and a member of staff was also at the counter again they offered us advice on the kinds of paint and amounts we'd need for various rooms. COVID: There was about 50% mask compliance (lots of people seem confused about whether they breathe out of their noses, and one dude just kept pulling his down so he could talk as he edged closer and closer to me). I know it's an impossible task for staff to do their jobs and monitor customers, but there wasn't so much as a friendly "hey can you pull up your mask please?" comment from the staff when the couple who clearly don't believe in masks were in front of the staff person. It was honestly the worst part about the store and a reason I personally wouldn't go back.
