Definitely the worst Michaels location I've ever been to. Firstly, I went to this store to pick up a frame. When I got home I realized that the frame was cracked, chipped, and wasn't even in any original packaging (found this out once I went to a different location to return it). The inside sheet with the sizing was all crumpled up like it had been returned before. Then I needed to order a mat for the frame. This is probably the most irritating thing I've ever had to do. Whoever works in framing is so slow, only talked in questions, has no clue what she is doing, and talks rudely. I'm pretty dumfounded that someone like that can even work there. When I ordered the mat it was as if she had no clue how to do anything or even know what mats they had. "I think we have these, I think it's this price" etc. It took a whopping 30-45 minutes just for her to make this order and give me the receipt. Should have taken not even 5 minutes because I knew what I wanted. When I went to pick up the mat, she couldn't find it, proceeded to ask me "is this one the right one?", like how am I supposed to know. For her to just say "well I think this might be it so here you go". When opening the order herself, she asked me "Can't you help!" all snarky, backhanded, and rude. Like what do you mean, this is your job, and how do you think you can talk to a customer like that? Get home to find out it is either the incorrect order or made incorrectly. It's for a 24 x 36 inch frame and is literally cut larger than that. I repeatedly said it needed to be 24 x 36 inches, for it be cut 1/4 to 1/2 inch larger on each side. How hard is it to cut 2 feet by 3 feet? How hard is it to label an order with a name or even just an order number? I then had to call 5 times just to be connected to framing because they kept denying the transfers. At least they are remaking it, crossing my fingers I'll actually get what I ordered. Will definitely NEVER be going back to this location. I debated on not even trying to go there again for the remake and going to a different location, so we'll see how this continues. Always has a great selection, staff on the weekend is helpful and friendly, great place with a large selection to grab hobby items. Not sure about other locations but this one was great. read more

I almost didn't come to this store because they wouldn't answer the phone when I tried three times. Glad I did because I found a full bolt of the fabric I needed to complete a quilt. I had bought what I thought would be enough at the Superior store but came up short. This was my fifth Michaels and final try. Fabric selections ranged from none at Town Centre to a disastrous mess at 120th/Washington to a neat substantial display (without what I needed) at Larkridge. Hopefully they will be able to make room for more fabric like Joann's had. read more

We went into this Michael's last night. There were no prices on most things in the store. The clerk told me they don't have prices on items anymore because of the tariffs and prices changed suddenly. That doesn't make sense... When you order Christmas supplies in August for October delivery, you would pay the tariff for August and know how much the price would be. Second, when we went to check out my daughter and I stood for a couple of minutes watching the clerk stand around, looking around. She finally rudely asked if we wanted to check out. Well yeah, we are standing in the checkout. All around a disappointing experience. read more

We crafting! A few home goods for your home depending on the holiday or season. They do custom frames too! Art supplies from brushes and pencils to canvasses and paints. All sorts of craft items as previously mentioned. If you work in early childhood development this is an awesome place to pick up materials for a sensory lesson. The same for any school teachers wanting to spruce up your classroom. Huge store but most of them are this size. Always has a weird cinnamon spice odor to my nose. Think it's just an amalgam of every scent in a craft store hitting me as I enter. They have drinks and candy/small snacks at the register. Always a coupon you can find online and most staff will help you get a lower price on your purchase. Lot of seasonal items they bring in to supplement the usual blank items waIting for your to turn your dream vision into reality. read more

Needed a new mat for cricut. $21.99 on store, $14.99 on Michaels website. Was told by front clerk that I would have to order it online then come back in a hour or more and pick it up. Otherwise the price in the store was $6 more. Seems like the store should be able to code it per their website. I left without it. Poor response from this store. read more

I went to this Michaels because it was the only one showing it had the 2025 ornament frames left. I drove for about 20 minutes to get there. First off there were a couple of guys in the parking lot acting strange and that was a little intimidating. They were just hanging around outside yelling at people. I went into the store to exchange some ribbon and had to wait pretty long before I was helped. I went to pick out other ribbon and the store is in horrible shape like no one has picked up in a while. I understand it's Christmas and things are a little crazy right now, so I'll give a little grace for that. The only 2 people I saw working in the entire store were the 2 ladies up front. I really dislike the fact that it's almost entirely self check out now. A few people were having trouble with that. So the time I had to wait in line to exchange the new ribbon was again a long time. Maybe Michaels needs to bring back a fully staffed store so that things will flow better for the customer. Get rid of self check out and bring back the human side of the business. read more

First of all... All of the sales going on were amazing and there were a ton of items left to grab from the sale! I absolutely loaded up on flowers to make flower crowns and was simultaneously pleasantly surprised to see Halloween/Fall items coming out! This store was very clean, well air conditioned, nice bathrooms, and excellent customer service at the check out register! I saved myself a ton of money while being in a really comfortable shopping setting. This store is very well stocked! read more

I came here a few weeks before Christmas in search of an ornament-shaped cookie cutter. When I walked in, I did not see many patrons nor did I see any employees. I wandered around for a bit in search of my cookie-cutter. I finally see an employee who is stocking shelves just an aisle over from me. I go up and ask him where I could find this particular ornament. I swear, the guy pauses, huffs, and then asks me if I already looked in the Christmas section. I was surprised at his annoyance. In the end, he pointed a few aisles down to where I could find the ornament and I found the one I was looking for. I then went up to the cash registers. The cashier called me up and I put my items on the counter. There were several flyers on the counter and all around the register areas indicating a 30% off. I made a comment about the 30% off coupon and assumed the cashier would have applied the discount, but when I got to my car and looked at my receipt I saw that no discount was given. I almost went back in but then I thought that maybe it didn't apply to baking items. The next day I happened to be in Superior and was near another Michaels. I popped inside the store and asked the cashier there about not getting the discount. He looked embarrassed and said, "Ya, your items do in fact apply towards getting the 30% discount." I asked why I hadn't been given one at the other store then and he shockingly said, "Well, if a customer asks for the 30% coupon or shows us a coupon then we can give the discount, but we are not allowed to suggest they use the coupon or even bring it to their attention." I was so surprised by this. So, the employees at Michaels have been instructed by management to not bring up any discounts to the customers so they don't have to apply them.... wow. This whole ordeal makes me never want to shop at a Michaels ever again. At least Hobby Lobby has plenty of employees around who are willing to assist customers and act happy to do so. They also look at their weekly ads that are taped to their registers to see if your purchases qualify for any discounts. That is how customer service should be. read more

This store is already hard enough to get to by transit and it's still the easiest to get to. Took me 50 minutes to get there from downtown. I had a weird sized poster that I didn't realize was weird until I got there. To save time and money I figured I could just buy a premade frame and get a mat cut really quick (which is super easy to do). They said I'd have to order it and it doesn't even get shipped to you! So option C is get a mat cutter but they don't even sell that! Force you to use their super inconvenient service and I'd have to travel all the way back again, almost two hours round trip. Never going back here. I'll just stick to the more expensive local shop downtown. read more

However, when we tried to ask the framing department a question, they acted like a simple 10 second question about the frames we were going to purchase was a huge inconvenience. Here's a hint: don't sigh when a customer asks a simple question. Whatever you're doing in the back may be important, but shouldn't drive rude behavior. 4 stars for price. 0 stars for social ineptitude. Well, bummer, Michaels. I've had many, many custom framing jobs done by you over the years, but this time was a major fail. Telling me that you're going to finish my pieces with a custom backing and then returning it to me with the standard backing that came with the frame is simply unacceptable (and the frame was damaged in the process?) . After asking several clarifying questions such as, "For that price, the piece will be finished with a proper paper backing, right?", you'd think we'd avoid confusion. Not so, however. Furthermore, when I told the person checking me out that I would not have paid $10/piece to have them simply assembled (I have the acid-free materials to do that myself, thank you very much!), she had zero empathy and was completely unwilling to help. I was already on the fence about using Michaels for my custom framing due to the fact that they are so overpriced (hence their never ending sales). Well, this experience pushed me over the edge. I definitely won't be back. Take your business elsewhere, my friends, if you wish to receive any semblance of true customer service. read more

I'm a crafty sort of person so, Michaels is like a candy store for me. I was stoked when one opened up so close to my home. Went in to this location for the first time today, looking for a few items for Christmas cards/gifts. Upon asking an associate where a certain item would be located (googly eyes-teehee), I was told "well, if we have them, they'd be on a main aisle around the store." Well. Thanks for that in depth answer ma'am. Not to mention as she walked away, it was VERY evident she needed a bath. Badly. So I proceeded to wade through a sea of people (we all know the aisles at Michaels, no matter the location, are tight) looking and looking, to no avail. I cut my losses and headed to the checkout. The line was CRAZY. At least they had all of the registers opened so we got from the back of the line to the front in about 5 minutes. Super nice lady helped check my items out and even made a point to acknowledge she appreciated our patience waiting in line. Overall, 3 stars should suffice. Store was clean, not very knowledgeable employees, but some were at least personable and friendly. read more

There isn't a lot of inventory in this store. The yarn section is a joke. And the embroidery section. I tried to buy beading line a little while ago, however, despite having a ton of different kinds of line, they're all weird weights and textures. There isn't normal beading line. I'm having to go to Hobby Lobby, which I hate. Michaels, get better inventory so I'm not forced to shop at a company who hates women! read more

I had a coupon for 20% off today. I went to check out at 2:50 p.m. and the rude associate told me it's not good until 3 p.m and that I can get back in line if I wanted to wait and use it. It's Christmas time, money is tight and lines are incredibly long! I was floored by this response and wanted to pay and get out of that store as fast as possible. I am a business owner and customer service is not that hard. This is why you are loosing business, you lost mine that's for sure. read more

Emma in the framing dept. was very friendly, helped me pick out some great discounted frames, and did a great job of unwrapping the frames fro me and placing my photos inside, no questions asked! They suck! Been there three times since they opened on September 21, 2017. Today I was told I could not use a coupon on yarn. I've never had that problem at any Michael's store. Called and asked to speak to a manager. I was on hold for 11 minutes and then a clerk came on. Probably saw the blinking light. Maybe she should be the manager. Went back in for a refund on my yarn and the manager ignored me until the transaction was finished and I left the store. I won't be shopping here. Would rather drive to Belmar than put up with that milarky. If I could choose less than one star I would. read more

I usually love coming to this store, and love new location, but tonight was followed around as if I were some sort of criminal and was intending to shoplift or something. I am assuming this is due to the fact that I have tattoos ( sleeves) as this does happen to me somewhat frequently, and I usually find it somewhat amusing, but this lady, who must be newer or new to this location was very obvious and very persistent and it made me very uncomfortable. I even asked my bf to come in just to see if he was seeing the same thing I was, just to be sure, and he absolutely agreed and was getting very upset. I recognize most of the employees, as I am in this store frequently and have up until tonight have been very pleased with everyone there. This lady has no tact, and although @first tried to make it seem that she was being helpful, she was more than obvious in following me around, everywhere I went as if I was going to steal something. I would never go into any store if I don't have money to spend, and why this lady assumed she needed to follow me around is beyond me, I am only left to guess that I was being judged becuase of my tattoos , becuase I could not think of any other reason, and I was wearing a jacket today so you couldn't even see them today! I would usually come here and spend alot if money, but if this store now going to have judgemental ignorant employees that are going to treat me like some kind of criminal for no reason, I may want to spend my money @joanns or hobby lobby instead.I even made a comment as we were leaving, to the effect of lets go becuase I'm tired of being followed around in this store for no reason, and she immediately snapped back " I'm just putting inventory away" she said it very rude also..great customer service lady.
