This place is huge! I always wondered what was inside as I drive by quite frequently. The floral and gift shop sits on the corner of 44th and Kipling, and is home to an array of home decor, products, and tchotchkes. Now I'm not their usual target demographic, but I appreciate the family history and their legacy in Wheat Ridge. The original business used to be next door, which now functions as an event space and storage. This store, however, is two floors and filled to the brim. To give perspective on their audience, my mother would absolutely love this place. Having said that, I do appreciate quality florals and bouquets. Heck, I even have a gardenia tattooed on my forearm! Well, my wife was due for a beautiful arrangement, and I was able to find one here. The best part? These flowers actually last! Not like the cheap ones you buy at the grocery store. For the past 10 days, the flowers have brightened up our dining room table. The woman I spoke with was very kind and helpful. It is rare that I give a 5 star review, of anything. But if I could, I would give a 10! I am not sure if Heidi is an angel, a soothsayer or simply a fantastic, artistic, caring individual. My neice passed away unexpectedly, and we worked with Heidi on many of the things needed last week. A week of Pandemic panic and a need to arrange a funeral for grieving and a beginning of what will be a very long healing process. I've been using this place for over three years but after todays "arrangement" I'll be sadly looking elsewhere. For $90 I ended up with a bunch of fake stems and a few flowers that looked nothing like the picture of what I ordered online. For comparison a month ago I bought a bouquet for my fiancé from here and paid about the same. I told them at the store it looked nothing like the picture so they added two lillys. I appreciate them trying to make it better but it just doesn't look like what I ordered and I wasn't about to make a scene. It feels like they didn't care that much cause it was Valentines Day. My Fiancé legit laughed at the flowers and asked why I got fake flowers. In the photos you'll see the flowers I got in November and paid roughly the same price as the second photo with was the Sweet and Spicy arrangement which was 1/3rd the size. I stopped in here after my dog's vet appointment, since the ladies at the office mentioned some of the cute items were purchased at this place. A guy walked in before me and stayed at the door with his back towards it, despite having my hands/arms full with my Chi and purse--yes he saw us--he didn't offer to open it. Imagine my surprise went I went inside and he actually worked there. I walked around the entire store and not once was greeted by the 3 employees working there, not even the girl sitting on the stool that I was within 3 feet of. Nope, not even a "Are you finding everything okay? Or, "Can we help you find something?" Oh, I forgot to mention the guy who didn't open the door, and worked there, managed to look up and met my eyes, but still didn't say anything. I'm giving them one star because the cute, little dog who "worked" there did greet me and my Chi and was interested in saying hello to us. I walked into this store as a customer and a salesperson. Heidi, the owner, did not even give me the respect of looking up from her phone and treated me very rudely. I needed some flowers for the women in my family on Easter Sunday. While also approaching her as a person who is trying to offer a service that might help her out. These women are fantastic at what they do! I went in to get flowers for a co worker, their family member had passed. It was just before they closed because my son was napping and I didn't want to wake him or I would have went in sooner. They were so patient with me, got me exactly what I needed. AVOID. Today, a family member sent me some flowers. Little did we know - the bouquet had some tiger lily flowers in it, which are toxic and fatal to cats. The bouquet was brought in and before we could even realize the tiger lilies were there - my cat got into it and ate a couple of petals. She is now in the hospital and she very well might die. We called Swiss Flower and Gift and explained what happened. We asked if they could consider having some warnings in their store/on their website/when people order about certain flowers being toxic to pets. We're not blaming them at all - but it would be a good business practice. April answered the phone, we politely suggested adding this warning to avoid pets dying in the future, and she said "I'm sorry for your troubles. Bye." And that was it. Do not go here. And make sure to avoid lilies if you have cats! read more

My sisters and I were hosting a 90th birthday celebration for our mother. She only wanted to invite family but soon it became clear that everyone, not just the locals, wanted to come so we needed a larger venue than my sister's home. The Swiss Flower Event Center rescued us! IT WAS THE PERFECT venue for this party. There are a number of very charming rooms so we could have guests greeted in the entry, a room for dining and mingling, a room for appetizers and drinks, and a different room for our dinner buffet. They also have a small kitchen area with a refrigerator for needed prep and clean up. Heidi was WONDERFUL in helping coordinate everything. Without hesitation, my sisters and I would recommend this event center to everyone for any type of event. My 90 year old mother had a celebration that she will always cherish. read more

This store is worth the drive from Denver. It is such a cute not so little shop with tons of home and gift items, an amazing selection of Trollbeads and hold onto your hats--free cupcakes! There are a myriad of themed rooms according to decor that are literally filled with inventory. To be honest, I primarily am there for the Trollbeads and have only wandered around a few times, so my memory or how many rooms or what they contain is slim. They have an awesome fairy garden section where you can purchase ones that are pre-made, or create your own and add whatever accessories you would like. My daughter did a combo and picked one out that was completely adorable, with amazing lavender, succulents and a sweet little house with a wooden fence. The floral section is adjacent to the beads, so I have the luxury of watching what goes out the door and am impressed with their arranging skills. The Trollbeads are an awesome line that was the original bead line--not Pandora as many people assume. They hand blow glass beads with Murano glass and create their molds for the beads from wax. The selection here is incredible and it is such a fun store to hang out and shop. The staff here is amazing. Heidi, the owner, is hands on and there almost every time I stop by, which is frequently these days. It is definitely a family run operation, as I have also met her husband and son. Leah and Gerry are two other helpers who could not be more kind. I truly enjoy giving them business and highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area, or making a little trip if you need a gift idea. read more

This was the happiest accident I've stumbled across in quite some time! On my way to a friend's home for a dinner party, I made the spontaneous decision to grab some flowers. I saw the word "flowers" and I whipped into the parking lot. They were closed, but they let me in. I told them the amount I wanted to spend, and Heidi, the owner, created a unique, beautiful bouquet to take to the host. The store is totally incredible. They have Lampe Berger, for God's sake! I have patronized Swiss Flower and Gift, i.e., Heidi for several years. I keep expecting her to warm up to me. Today when I made my purchase for a gift for a dear friend, she rudely came over and interrupted the sales lady helping package my gift and abruptly repackaged it into a bag that was too small. I asked why can't it be packaged in the other bag? She replied "do you want to purchase it; you know these cost me money they are not free". I understand goods and services are expensive, goodness knows that Heidi has kept up with inflation on pricing all her items. The store used to be very affordable before she rebuilt the current one. This is not the first time Heidi has been impersonable to me. She never acknowledges me. I have been shopping at Swiss Flower for many years and as a savvy business woman it's the attention to the detail that lasts forever. I so rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to leave a review for Swiss Flower and Gift. A gentleman who is courting me took a chance on ordering from them because of their proximity to me. First, the day the delivery was scheduled for was scorching hot, so Heidi called to find out if someone would be home to receive the flowers. Based on schedules and temperatures, we arranged to have the flowers delivered the next day instead. Heidi called the next morning to make sure that was still good. The delivery driver called to let me know that the arrangement had been left on the porch while I was out to lunch (I'd given that okay in the earlier call). The arrangement is simply stunning! I used to really enjoy shopping at this business, before they seemed to have gotten bitten by the money bug. Their old shop had so many cute and unique items, especially items for ones garden. I had to join yelp because I want to let everyone know of my experience at the Swiss Flower Shoppe. I don't live in Colorado but I was there recently for my Grandmother's funeral. The day of the funeral I discovered that I needed a dozen roses, but specifically multi-colored roses. Not being from Denver I immediately began searching yelp for a florist. My husband recently surprised me at work with an absolutely beautiful arrangement of flowers. They were lovely, not just the standard roses or daisys. I was very pleased with the flowers, they continued to bloom for over a week (at work and then another several days when I brought them home). My only complaint is that the advertising postcard that was stuffed onto the flower arrangement was larger than the card from my husband. Trying to 'Sell me more' later significantly detracted from the initial inpression and enjoyment of the product which had already been purchased. A business card sized advertisement might (MIGHT) have been ok, it would have been less tacky. But as it was, the overly large advertisement created an extreamly Off note in what was otherwise a lovely moment. without that - I would have given 5 stars. MY recommendation if you are ordering these flowers for delivery to a loved one - request that they not use the opportuinty to put their message in front of yours. read more

Wow this place just goes on and on! There are so many rooms, you have no idea! The florist part seemed to be only a small part of the layout. Most of the store was full to the brim of feminine and funky home and garden decor. They have accessories like bags, scarves and jewelry too. A lot of the things were not my style but my mother-in-law wants everything in there. The prices seemed a little high to spend on myself but I will definitely remember this place for gift shopping. Ordered an arrangement for my friend for her birthday. I saw what I wanted on their website. Called them to see how much different the Lesser expensive version would be. Was told it would be approximately four stems lighter. What was delivered was a completely different arrangement. Didn't even make an attempt to duplicate what I ordered. After sending an email expressing my disappointment, she actually had the nerve to call me up and argue with me flower by flower. I love going here and getting new pieces for my home. They have a great selection of flowers, garden art, and decorative pieces for your home. During the weekend, they usually provide snacks for shoppers. All of the staff that I have dealt with have been very helpful. I had high tea at the Swiss Flower and Gift store yesterday with my cousins. The store is in a brand new beautiful building next to the original shop. The shop has so many adorable gifts peruse. The high tea was wonderful. We had 4 different types of sandwiches, a quiche, a petite blueberry muffin with a cherry scone complete with lemon curd and clotted cream. Our tea cups were refilled frequently with flavorful teas. We finished the meal with a pumpkin roll cake, macaroon and of course- a piece of chocolate! We were celebrating a birthday and the birthday girl's cake was brought out on a rotating plate that was playing the "Happy Birthday" song. I hope we return again soon for a cousin tea! read more
