Fish roe rice

We got the combo B which was $100 (4 ppl) It came with 7 diff type of skewers (4 each) and 2 other skewers( 2-4 each). One rice or noodle dish as well as your choice of 3 side dishes. P.S they also had Banchan/mini side dishes like japchae, salad, and seaweed. Unlike most skewer places, you put the skewers in the grill and it'll rotate. It's nice and hot rather pre-cooked. It was a bit chilly as the fan was behind me blowing pretty hard. There's also suppose to be lighting above but there was no light bulb so it was a bit dim. The servers did come a few time to check up on us. But overall it's more of a self serve for the grilling. Overall, It's a pretty good deal! I'll definitely come back again!

It was my first time visiting this restaurant and both the meal and experience didn't disappoint. Their skewers and free side dishes were fantastic, truly this place is perfect for a get togethers with your loved ones for a nice meal. The staff here are all very accommodating. My only tiny complaint is that our table is small for a group of 6, we could have used a bit of space but it's totally understandable since it was very busy when my cousins and I arrived.

Such a fun and unique kbbq experience. We wanted to go to Daldongnae initially but wanted to try something new. Turns out they are sister restaurants which explains the interior. We decided to go with Combo A ($64.95) for our group of 4 and went with corn cheese as our complimentary side and selected kimchi fried rice and seafood pancake. Side dishes were spicy cucumber, seaweed and a salad. We asked for refills for the first two sides with no restrictions. Kimchi fried rice was full of flavour and on the spicier side. Seafood pancake was a group favourite. The rotating device for the skewers was pretty cool, even leaving the cooked skewers on the top rack kept it hot to eat later on. Now the kicker of this review: we initially wanted kbbq for dinner but wanted to try the skewers. Thinking that Combo A would be enough to test it out without feeling full, we ordered table bbq (the minimum order) to fulfill our cravings. It ended up being a second dinner and we left the restaurant stuffed. It came with a soup and we barely touched it (still finished the meat though). Overall, Gui Gui is great for a skewers type of dinner or you can opt for their grill top kbbq. If you are interested in both, ordering skewers separately is your best option. They will suggest having the skewers first then kbbq after removing the skewer device. It was a cramped dining experience because of the size of their booths but Gui Gui has probably one of the best customer service in the GTA.

My 1st time at a Korean BBQ that does the self-cook on rotating skewer thing. First thing, the price point is slightly lower than many of the usual grill top Korean BBQ joints. Our party of 4 was adequately stuffed for about $30 CDN$ (incl tax & tip), and for that amount, we downed 32 skewers, 10 small banchons, 1 large bowl of noodle soup, a side of corn cheese, and 2 large pancakes (kim chi & seafood). The concept of self-cooking is the same as most K-BBQ except skewers are placed on an automatic, constantly rotating surface. Cooking time ranges from 5 to 12 minutes depending on how "done" you like your meats. The cooked skewers can be kept warm on a rack several inches above the cooking surface. While warm to the touch, the skewers can be comfortably handled. Note that the meats do "shrink" in size after cooking so the side dishes and banchons are needed to complete your meal. The best skewers were the lamb and curry-marinated variety. The side dishes were all excellent too. This would have been a 5-star restaurant but the service was a bit lacking. First, our party of 4 was placed at a table that would comfortably hold 2-3 patrons such that it was a puzzle just to keep all the plates on the table. Secondly, the cooking process was barely explained and additional banchons had to be requested (better service would have had the waitstaff offer us banchons). Lastly, the ordering process, especially for the combos was way too complicated, though we did eventually navigate our way through it. Restaurant is smallish and decor is basic but good food is why you come here and Gui Gui did not disappoint.

GuiGui was definitely over hyped, there was nothing special about the food, and all the skewers end up tasting the same. The only thing that was really exciting and cool was the rotating cooking machine. You might as well just save your money and go eat Korean Bbq. Or go eat skewers at Chat Bar. Also don't come here with larger groups, they don't have enough seating. Came here with my friends (Group of 10) and we were all squished in the back with our jackets.

Located right at the northeast corner of Yonge St. and Cummer Ave. This restaurant has a small interior with many tables on the covered patio. There's a small paid parking lot behind the building and a bus stop right in front of the restaurant on Yonge St. Washrooms are in the basement. The restaurant doesn't get busy until later at night. We were one of only a couple tables dining in for the longest time. The server explained to us that for every party of two customers, five skewers must be ordered. Seeing as we were a group of four, we had to order ten skewers. We also ordered kimchi-fried rice and a seafood pancake. Since the table is quite small, a TV tray table was put at the end of our table to place the tray of skewers. The rice and pancakes were really tasty--more than anticipated. It was my first time at a skewer restaurant. It was fun watching the skewers rotate automatically. We could've done with not ordering either the rice or pancake because we were so full and could barely finish the skewers. We had the fortune of sitting at one table where the light was not directly overhead, so it was difficult to tell if our skewers were fully cooked or not.

I love how you cook the meat yourself and it rotates itself!!! It was a better deal to get their combo, 5 meat, one noodle/rice side and other you as save $10+ ordering their combo!!! It was not too busy for a Monday so no need for reservation There are a variety of beers n Soju to go with it skewers!!!

My gf took me here for an epic, celebratory dinner and it was glorious. It was my first time trying korean skewers (as I'm accustomed to eating northern chinese style bbq skewers). The pics of this place online had me HYPED. When we arrived I noticed that it's basically part of koreatown along yonge and finch and there's no visible designated parking (we found out from a friend later that there is indeed designated parking but it's basically down a secret underground tunnel haha). Needless to say, we parked across the street and walked over. The resto itself is mid-sized (not small enough for 3-5 tables but also not 15 tables deep). With the way the rotating grills are setup I would advise anyone planning to visit that it's either good for couples or for up to a max of 4 ppl (since one table is basically big enough to allot for 4 ppl squishing together). Service was very prompt. We sat right next to the kitchen so that may have helped with flagging someone down haha. Whenever we wanted more dipping sauce and water a server was always there for us. On to the meat. MY GOODNESS. What a majestic, mouthwatering spread we had on the table. Since it was a celebratory dinner we ordered around 60 skewers for just the 2 of us hehehehe. From lamb, beef, pork and chicken and even tried some side dishes. My gf had been to the resto in the past with her fam and she said that there was nothing special about the seafood on her last visit so we decided to just go crazy on meat. All the skewers tasted fantastic. The direct fire really imparted a lot of char and flavour to the meat and there's just something super magical about being able to put your skewer on the rotating mechanism and watch it spin. The seasoning is also different than you would traditionally find on chinese style skewers but this was a welcome change! I found it interesting how koreans like to curry their meat instead of the heavily flavouring meat with cumin as chinese ppl do. The gochujang marinade was also bomb dot com. The pork in particular was incredible. My top 3 (in no particular order) was the curry lamb, marinated galbi beef and gochujang pork. My gf's fave was the beef. I think I told her at one point (when we were halfway through the spread that I didn't even know what I was eating anymore cuz the meat was just so succulent and juicy). Oh yea, honourable mention has to go to the teriyaki chicken leg. It was surprisingly tasty imo. Came with scallions on the skewer. That chicken was really tasty and the teriyaki tasted homemade as opposed to store bought. I felt like I was gonna explode after such a delicious feast. The bill was obviously steep cuz we ordered so much but service, food quality and the bigger than normal size of the skewers compared to other restos were enough for me to give this resto a top notch rating.

Honestly I heard so much hype and was very excited to try GuiGui but felt slightly overwhelmed. It was our first time here which I explained to the server and it didn't seem to reallt correlate . Overall the food was decent and the skewers took awhile to cook. Kind of reminded me of Daldognae but a downgraded version, wouldn't recommend and wouldn't come back. Prices are decent

Visited for the first time with a party of 4 on a Friday night. We happened to go when weather wasn't ideal so there weren't too many other tables dining at the moment. There's a small shared parking lot behind the building, but next closest parking might be at Finch Station about a 10 minute walk south. It was cool how the skewers auto-rotate so you don't have to flip them yourself, though you may want to space out the skewers so they don't hit one another. Food is also kept warm by moving cooked skewers to a shelf above the currently cooking meat. What we ordered: - Beef skewers - Marinated Galbi beef skewers - Gochujang marinated pork skewers - Spicy chicken skewers - BBQ chicken skewers - Sausage & Rice cake skewers - Corn cheese - Cold noodle - Spicy cold noodle - Shrimp & Egg fried rice - Soybean stew My Favs: - The marinated galbi beef skewers were definitely the favourite of the night - The cold noodles were also great value at $8.95 for a full size bowl topped with meat, radish, cucumber, and half an egg - The fried rice was very flavourful and came in a stone pot which gets the edges a little crispy Final Thoughts: Staff were very kind and quick to help when needed. Some good items, but overall nothing too special besides the concept. I think I'd go elsewhere if I'm looking for better quality/value for money, but I would come again.

First Korean-style Skewers Spot in Toronto @guiguitoronto Great place to bring friends, you can chat while grilling the meat! They have a wide selection of meat... we got lamb, pork, chicken, beef, squid, mushroom, rice cake & sausage skewers! We ordered cheese corn as well. Everything tasted great! Their grill also moves the skewers automatically so that they get grilled evenly. I highly recommend coming to Gui Gui just for the experience!

Think Korean BBQ but skewer style - that's partly what makes Gui Gui unique from other kbbq spots. On a cold day, my friend and I visited this spot for the first time. We didn't know what to expect but I can tell you, we had a fun time. We got 4 skewers (lamb, marinated galbi, cheese rice cake and fried tofu) and seafood pancake. ------- The Breakdown: Lamb | $6.95 8.5/10 - the lamb was lighter on the flavour and pretty yummy. I'd come back for this again. Marinated Galbi | $6.95 9.5/10 - galbi is short ribs. This menu item was the most flavourful out of all the food we ate. The meat was tender and juicy with each bite. Cheese rice cake | $3.95 9/10 - interesting! We ended up leaving the rice cake on the fire for too long to a point that it ended up oozing cheese. This was one of my favourite menu items here. Fried tofu | ~$2.50 8/10 - simple and a bit chewy. Although its fried, I consider it one of the healthier options. Seafood Pancake | $15.95 9/10 - crunchy and the inside wasn't dense but well-done. The sauce went well with it. Note: if you want anything from the skewers section on the menu, you're expected to order at least 4. The night vibe of this spot is pretty chill and fun. Delicious food, priced fairly. Mixed plate is my favourite. Their dips are very good. Portions are…read morebig and satisfactory.

What just happened?…read more I used to love this place. In fact, I would drive 30 minutes each way just to pick up some of those tasty kebabs and that unforgettable garlic sauce. The food was so full of flavour and care, it stood out among Toronto's many Middle Eastern options. Lately, I'd been seeing a lot of their mouthwatering Instagram videos--chicken shawarma piled high, platters being loaded up with garlic sauce and fries, etc.... What can I say? The marketing worked. I started thinking about Aleppo Kebab and decided to order some for lunch via Uber Eats. Unfortunately, the meal fell flat. The shawarma was bland, and flavourless. The rice, once fragrant and almost biryani-like, was now just plain and forgettable. The salad was not dressed, the garlic dip tasted like it came out of a can, and the sujuk rolls were coated in a chalky flour residue that made them unappetizing. I'm not sure if this was just an off day or a more systemic issue. But every part of the meal was underwhelming. It's disappointing, especially when I know what they're capable of. They've clearly stepped up their marketing game--but if the food doesn't live up to the hype, no amount of social media will keep people coming back. I'll give it one more try before writing it off completely, but here's hoping the Aleppo Kebab I once raved about makes a comeback. Until then, 2 stars is fair.
